We stopped here to eat before camping in Cove Palisades. They had fresh made chips and salsa, and a few things looked yummy but the shrimp enchiladas were outstanding! Yummy! We enjoyed the outdoor patio but it was right next to the street so it wasn't exactly quiet. The food was great and we'd all go back for the enchiladas!

What I liked about this place was that their style is all their own, which is the most authentic Mexican food ever. They aren't copying every other restaurant- it's truly unique. I really enjoyed it.

Enchiladas en Moladas

I enjoyed the food at Rio's. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and were the only people there around 12 PM. We started with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were thick and crunchy, but could have used some more salt or flavor. Salsa was fine. We had two entrees: Enchiladas en Moladas ($24) with chicken and ground beef enchiladas in corn tortillas, one covered with our signature 7 pepper mole & one with house mole verde; Regular Combo ($17) with Enchilada and chimichanga both with chicken. Both came with beans and rice. The food was delicious and looked great. I loved both of the mole sauces on the enchilada. The chimichanga came with guac on top which was a nice surprise. Very pleased with the flavors, presentation, and portion size. Service and atmosphere were fine. They have a few small TVs in the dining room. The place was clean.

Vibe: Friendly service. Like eating a meal your friends mom might make for a special occasion or to impress guests. Food: Fresh, all home-made. Chips made in house, crunchy. Salsa is smokey and a little hot, with a good depth of flavor! Vegetarian options - enchilada in a spinach cream sauce ( good!), taco salad ( tasty), and other veggie option. Guac was fruity, homemade and goood!

Enchiladas Enmoladas with beans instead of meat

Food was incredibly tasty. Raul was friendly and helpful. Food was served quickly and with a smile. Family environment. They were able to modify my enchiladas to be stuffed with beans instead of meat. Table side guacamole had mango in it and it was tasty.

First time diners. I ordered a shrimp burritos with rice, beans, extra cheese and green sauce. Delicious. The vegetables were cooked but still crispy. Gentleman who waited on us was great. My wife had pork enchiladas with orange sauce. It was delicious. We recommend this restaurant. We will return if our travels bring us through Madras.

Flautas and steak

Son had the steak and I had the Flautas and both were beyond incredible They did guacamole at our table and it was best ever Beer IPA as well and service over the top This place should have five stars across the board

It's wicked hawt outside, so I just wanted to remind everyone within the vicinity to drop by Rio and stay hydrated. While you're at it, order some fresh guacamole (made table side) and some tacos. Rio has a mix of indoor/outdoor seating. Wherever you sit, you're going to get great service.

Fish tacos, steak enchiladas, and guacamole.

I wish we lived in Madras because we would eat here all the time! Just driving through on our way back to WA and did a search for restaurants and this place was #1 on the Yelp list. We ordered the table side guacamole as a starter. Oh man! So good! The homemade salsa and flour tortilla chips are beyond delicious too. Then I ordered the steak enchiladas and my husband got the fish tacos. Highly recommend those too! Needless to say, we couldn't finish it all and will have the rest for dinner. I forgot to take a pic until we were completely stuffed, but I'll post it anyway. You need to try this place!

If you know me, you already know... I don't mess around when it comes to tacos. Every place we go,…read moreI'm out to find the best taco. We ended up at La Posada Mexican Grill in Madras, Oregon... and this is one of those spots that doesn't try to impress you from the outside... but the food absolutely does. I ordered a carne asada taco and their three crispy bean tacos that they're known for. The carne asada had that real flavor to it, not over-seasoned... just simple and done right and the tortillas... perfect. And those crispy bean tacos... I get why they're known for them. Crispy, flavorful, and just the right ratio of filling to topping. And the salsa bar... this is where you can tell if a place is serious. While it looks simple in the photo, it honestly deserves a review all on its own. Multiple salsas, all different, all fresh... pickled carrots (one of my favorites), and of course, radishes. But the kicker... what really put it over the top for me and sold me on coming back someday were the roasted chiles and grilled onions on the side. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how good this place really is. And I'll say this, because it proves itself over and over again... do not judge a Mexican restaurant by the outside of the building. Ever. Some of the best food you'll find is in the most unassuming places... and this is definitely one of them. So authentic.

It is almost comical how many people have told me to try this place out…read more Several different Mexican food options in town, but this is a local favorite. Came here for a breakfast burrito. Ordered over the phone and it was ready when I got there. SO GOOD. THE BACON. THE EGG. THE TORTILLA. CHEFS KISS. Ambiance- it was only me and my friend but the service was spectacular. Great option if ur in town and it's a chain

Three stars for Taco Bell in Madras, and let me tell you why…read more First off, shout-out where it's due. We tried to hit up McDonald's, under construction. Tried Sonic Drive-In, no bathrooms. So by the grace of crunchy tacos, we landed at Taco Bell. And I'll say this, you didn't need a secret CIA code to use the restroom. Doors wide open. God bless America. The place was clean, bright, natural light everywhere. Felt peaceful. Like a fast food yoga studio. But then we ordered. Twenty minutes. Twenty minutes for fast food. That is not fast food. That is reflect on your life choices food. Now the server was nice. Sweet. No problems there. But in the back, there was a whole episode of Fast Food Survivor going on. Some bickering. An older lady, maybe the manager, maybe not, trying to switch positions. An older cook who looked like he was the only one who understood the assignment. That man was pushing people like it was the fourth quarter. There was a kid back there looking lost. I am watching this like it is live theater. Dinner and a show. And here is the thing, it was 11:30. Not midnight. Not apocalypse hour. Just regular lunch time. You should be cranking out tacos like you are printing money. Instead, we are standing there aging in real time. I am looking at my wife, she is looking at me, and we are both thinking the same thing. There is a Mexican food truck up the road making burritos with ingredients that actually met a vegetable once. But no. We chose fast food. And we got slow food. Location is great. Clean restaurant. Nice lighting. Friendly front counter. But if it takes twenty minutes for two small items, and I get floor seats to Dysfunction Junction while I wait, that is three stars. Respect to the serious cook though. Whoever you are, sir, you were trying. I saw you. You deserve a raise. Just maybe not a stopwatch.
