This is a family-owned restaurant, and the staff were incredibly nice. My sister, mother, and I sat on the outdoor patio. It was so hot outside, so the shade was a game changer. We were able to replenish our bellies with good food and give our pets a break from the road trip. The restaurant didn't mind. I got a Jamaica, albóndigas soup, and an enchilada entrée with rice and beans. My mom got fish tacos with rice and beans. My sister got a chicken fajitas entrée with rice and beans. I thought the flavoring was accurate. It felt like home. The staff were kind. We really liked them. There was definitely a language barrier, but that didn't stop us from communicating. People are nice. Blended drinks are not blended well. Food was edible, if you don't have good Mexican food often you might think this is ok. The combo plate was drenched in canned enchilada sauce. The chille relleno was the worst I've ever had, it was literally covered in an omelette type egg instead of the traditional egg white mix. read more

Ground beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. The portions were kind of small. . . that's okay for me. . . food needed a little salt. My coworkers had chicken fajita burrito and chicken flautas. Chips and salsa- chips needed salt and were very dark. Maybe because of the type of tortilla they use. The chile was ok. Went to meet up with the daughter, granddaughter and family for lunch. Went with the Tacos Al Pastor. Wasn't expecting something spectacular, but I also wasn't counting on Montezumas Revenge that would persist for now 24 hours. Called and spoke to the "manager" and he seemed like he could give two shits, literally. Save your guts, butt and full on body by avoiding this place. Our waitress was nice, my wife liked her chili verde, it all fell apart outside that. Started with slow service. Not a big deal as we were in no hurry. The busdude was super attendant. Almost too much so. Then he spilled a whole glass of water on the bench opposite use. Really no big deal, except he kept apologizing which made it uncomfortable. We told him no big deal, don't worry. Here's where it turns really bad. He shows up with a mop and starts mopping by our feet with pine sole or some other cleaner. I thought I was eating in a bathroom at that point and just stopped. It was nauseating. As for the food, my shredded beef in the tacos had very little flavor and very much disappointing. The chili reano was promising but only had a couple bites before the mop showed up. My wife's chili verde was good so the reason for two instead of one star. Meal ruined. Update: My goodness. We were fine after he spilled the water. We kept telling him it was ok. It wasn't till he was mopping by our feet with a bathroom mop that things changed. In fact we told him he didn't have to mop and he ignored us. You didn't not offer another booth,I requested one. And the smell was nauseating so I couldn't eat anymore. You need to show some professionalism. Attacking a customer for your error is not the way to respond. Updating to one star for your horrible tantrum of a response. read more

My darling Husband and I had the Chicken a la Crema meal. I drank a glass of apple juice. And my Sweetheart had a diet cola. There weren't that many people inside this Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant... but I arrived a few minutes before the front doors were officially opened. I noticed that there were those huge larger than life piñatas inside the front lobby for Cinco de Mayo. There was a glass of water that was brought out before my plate. The wait for my plate was short. My husband and myself both enjoyed our meals. He and I both had leftovers. There was a little salad on the plate. There were also seasoned rice and refried beans. I asked for no tortillas. My husband ordered the flour tortillas. His arrived with a smaller round shaped box with warm tortillas inside. I didn't see the sign for the ladies' restroom... so I asked an employee where it is located. I then saw the painted wall that has an arrow for the restrooms. There was plenty of soap. The restroom was clean and tidy. I recommend the Chicken a la Crema plate. read more

She ordered a fiesta dinner. Her steak was over cooked. She ordered a deep fried banana split and likes all of it except for the actual deep fried banana. Too mushy for her. DANG! I'm really shocked to see the bad reviews for this place. I was in Madras on business and stopped in here with my clients and a co-worker for lunch and all four of us had the Carne Asada and were AMAZED! Great flavor and plenty of it. Served with Beans and Rice which ere equally as good. The Chips and Salsa were great and if you ASK, they will give you Pinto Beans for the chips as well. YUM! Place was clean (including the restroom) and staff was friendly and down to business. I was in town to go fly fishing with a local guide and decided to stay a couple nights at the Econo Motel. I ate at this resaurant for 2 nights in a row - big mistake. First off the staff are really nice and customer focused. The tables are clezn and staff are conscientious of COVID-19. Unfortunately the food is disgusting. The first night I ordered the chicken enchilada and relleno with verde sauce. The chicken in the enchilada had tomato sauce. I was expecting non-tomato chicken. The egg wrapped around the relleno was tough and rubbery. The refried beans were extremely salty. That night I drank 2 bottles of water to rid the salt. The next night I tried the relleno burrito with chicken thinking I would get chicken without presoaked ted sauce and chili relleno without rubbety dried egg. NOT. Basically they wrapped the prevoius nights entree in a flour tortilla and smothered it with sour cream and red sauce. I couldn't even finish half of plate. Later that night I burped and unexpectedly had to rush to bathroon and barf the meal up. Seriously, there are other Mexican restaurants in town else take a handful of Tums before considering this restaurant. read more

We ate here several times already and have never been disappointed. Portions are huge, food is delicious, staff is friendly. They were great with social distancing among the guests and wore masks. They refilled the chips and bean dips several times as my children were clearly starving. They were very welcoming towards our dog (golden retriever). The Cadillac margarita was incredible and massive in size. We won't go anywhere else when we are in the area. read more

This is the second time I've visited Mazatlan since moving back to the area in January. I am sad to say-- I won't return. It used to be a quality restaurant, with excellent service. Now... not so much. At all. We went in the first time and ordered one large meal, and asked if we could split it. I have a lapband and can't eat much, and was told no problem. She then proceeded to come back with two full orders. Obviously, she didn't understand us at ALL. The food was cold, full of gristle, and the tortilla's were nasty chewy. Not good food at all. The next time we went in, there was a group of us ladies. Three to be exact. We were asked how many, and we said three. I asked how the hostess was that night, and she sniffed at me. And said-- just three? My co-workers then teased and said-- well we could split her into two so there'd be four of us if you'd like. The hostess was irate by now. (I'm not kidding-- this is the extent of the entire interaction. I really do not see how this could be so insulting to her. Final straw came when she showed us to our table, she literally threw the menus on the table and kept walking. Never said another word. After about four minutes, and she'd passed us three times, us smiling the whole time, and trying to be FRIENDLY-- she just glared and huffed at us. At once, we decided we were done. We picked up and went down the street to El RIo, the bright green building in the middle of town, and got dinner a show. See my review for them for details.
