Amazing staff, super friendly environment and great food! Can eat play and drink. Love taco Tuesday!

Staying in the area and wanted to get dinner. Came here and it was pretty busy, which is why it was strange that the downstairs area was closed and just the main and upper levels open. The setup is awful as they have giant tables so you see 2 people sitting at a table for 6 in a busy restaurant on the main floor (probably why seat yourself when busy doesn't work). All tables were gone so we had to sit at the big bar style tables in the middle. But not enough seats to even sit at the same table, just next to eachother with giant poles in between us. Service is the slowest I've ever seen. We watched how awful it was for everyone else around us as well. Takes forever just to get a beer and don't worry, you'll watch your food die in the window while it waits too. Watched people leave including a couple that was there for about a half hour with no one ever even acknowledging them. So cold overpriced food and none of us tasted any sauce on this BBQ. Plus we go to sit next to other people's trash the entire time because bussing was not a thing they did unless forced to. We pushed it further away at least to give us more space away from filth. And the kicker - they have the audacity to charge $2 to share a plate. Are you kidding me! What's worse is that I had to use the women's restroom with a main door that doesn't close because the floor is warped. Toilet not bolted down and a curtain rather than a door on your stall. Only there can a place this dirty and rundown still be this packed - no other options. Terrible food and service. read more

I've spent many nights in Madras, but this was the first one that found me at Wild Winds Station. Because bourbon is the most important meal of the day, I ordered an old fashioned. It was followed by a very tasty Monterey Jack burger and tots, as recommended by the server. Overall, this joint is your basic sports bar with a good selection of food and plenty of TVs to watch the game. Even if you aren't a sports fan, stop by and let them serve you a home run dinner. read more

Excellent food for a reasonable price. The draft beer options were great. They have 26 taps and all but one had craft beer (Coors light). This by itself is a major plus for me!! I highly recommend if you're looking for a small pub experience with friendly staff and patrons. read more

Pleasantly surprised at lunch. We had a varied of items-burgers, wraps, pulled pork and it was all very good. Reasonable prices.

Great service! Great food! Burgers and sandwiches recommended. For appetizers, their poppers, wings and stuffed mushrooms are my go to.

Bartenders are always friendly. Wish they still had impossible meat, but they have a veggie patty.

The BLT was excellent! We loved the sweet fries, too. Pleasant server and the restaurant had a good vibe.

For Madras, this place is pretty great. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly! The space is open, a good amount of 'family' or 'bar' seating, you know... where you sit with others... the bathroom is kinda strange - there are curtains on the stalls? But the food was good. Well, local bars in small towns are generally made up of locals. Especially those bars that are in towns most people drive through on their way somewhere else. I get this feeling in Madras. Being only about 35 mins from Redmond and 55 from Bend, Madras isn't on the top of most lists as the destination. I stopped in because of a work function and got a chance to see some sites. Dive bars are my thing!! This place is actually really cool on the inside (don't be intimidated by the outside as it does take some gumption to go in as you think you might die, or hear a banjo or both as you walk in but none of those happened!) There was a minor bar fight in the middle of the day but meh...it's Madras. The interior looks as if it's been modernized and revamped. This is a concrete, nuts on the floor kinda place with a pretty decent selection of beers on tap, a full bar and large menu. I tried an appetizer and wasn't impressed (imagine frozen bread microwaved too long they become hard and inedible. We've all done it at home, just not a fan of paying for it). But frankly I was there for a beer so my needs were met. All in all, I'd stop again. Staff were friendly, even customers seemed pretty cool with a stranger in their midst (excluding the fighting drunk dude but he was entertaining). Every. Single. Staff member was NOT wearing a mask (besides our server who wore it on her chin!), No social distancing of tables (about 25+ people in the bar area) and people coming and going without masks on! We are in the middle of a PANDEMIC! The food was.. eh. The avocado on my salad was a small dollop of crappy store-bought guacamole. Husband's burger.. just eh. Nothing to write home about. Next time we pass through, we'll just stop at Safeway across the street. Much better quality, cheaper, and safer COVID practices. read more

We had a nice dinner at Wild Winds Station tonight. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was very good. At first I thought the prices were a little high until I saw the portion size. Enough leftovers for at least one meal. They had two young girls waiting tables and both were very attentive and friendly. The only reason I did not give five stars is because I wasn't crazy about the salad. But, I'm not a fan of arugula. We will eat there again. read more

We both had huge chicken taco salads- each one was platter size. They even put our tortilla strips on the side on request. They used a glob of store bought guacamole instead of slices of avocado. The rest of the salad was great. We sat upstairs away from other people. However their bar area was full- about 25 people in a small space. So they aren't too worried about Covid here. Our sweet waitress wore her mask on her chin the entire time and didn't worry about social distancing. Most of the customers were not wearing masks. Horrible. Family of four walked in 45 min prior to closing (plenty of time to eat). Two of our family was an elderly couple that have trouble walking & especially climbing stairs. The establishment is small yet still has 3 levels for seating. The ground floor, a small basement downstairs, & upstairs to the loft seating. When we walked in there's very few tables in the ground level floor & all of them were taken. We stood next to the sign that says choose your own seating, in this time at least twice the girls working walked by and looked right at us. Since there were no tables left on the ground floor & the basement area was dark & obviously closed, we had to go upstairs. The elderly couple in our group slowly struggled to the top of the stairs where others were also seated & eating or waiting on their orders. We picked a table & sat down. After a minute or two a female employee came to our table & told us we had to move down to the main floor. I asked why & I explained that we read the sign that said seat yourself & explained to her it was difficult for them to navigate the stairs because of their age & physical limitations & also that there were no tables on the ground floor that were open. The employee replied by looking at the older couple & then looking back at me saying, we like to start our cleaning towards the end of the night upstairs first & that a table was about to open downstairs & we needed to move to that one. Completely ignoring the fact that she walked by us twice & looked right at us when we were standing next to the sign when we walked in & watched as we started up the stairs & didn't say a single thing until the we (including the older couple) struggled up the stairs and got sat down. Once we made our way back downstairs, we stood there for a second to see what table was open which of course was the one right in the middle of everyone. We stood there for a minute & discussed whether or not we wanted to even eat there anymore considering the experience so far, as we spoke about it I could see the waitress watching us, it was clear we were talking about leaving. We decided to leave & slowly the older couple in the lead made our way to the door to exit. I half expected one of the employees who watched us to maybe at least apologize but I quickly realized it was to their benefit for us to leave since closing was about 40 min away by that point & it was clear after the conversation upstairs & the lack of effort to keep our business that they were more concerned with getting off work as fast as they could. To be brutally honest it was probably one of the most pathetic & disrespectful "dining out" experiences I've ever seen. It's clear the business survives only from the fact that it's a small town & there are limited choices for places to eat out. It certainly isn't because of the rude service or lack there of I should say. This would have bothered me some if it was just me & the other able bodied person but it wasn't just us, it was the fact that the older couple in our group that are both almost 80 years old & with physical limitations were made to walk up the stairs when no seats were available on the ground level & after reading the sign that clearly stated to choose our own seats. After leaving I read some reviews and saw some older reviews of people complaining about being rushed to leave and another about some people that were told they needed to finish eating before they close. Needles to say we will never be back & will discourage anyone from choosing this business to spend their money or waste their time at. read more

A few us got together for an early dinner. The drinks were good and the prices fair for what I wanted. The food was OK. We wanted simple things and got uncomplicated entrees. My brother and sister-in-law are regulars and suggested it for the last meal of a long weekend reunion. It was a good change. The waitress was great. Unfortunately she had tables spread across the building so we didn't see her as often as we would have liked. The kitchen did her no favors either. We did a 30 mile bike ride in Madras and we were looking for a place to have a good beer and this came up! I wished we'd looked a little bit more. Walk in asks thought we could sit outside, for it was a nice sunny day and there was a huge loud table of kids from a baseball team in there. However, they didn't serve outside?! What?? So we sat at the tables upstairs. First thing we were told is you can't have peanuts up there. You could just a few stairs down but not up there. Was not a great start. They had one Porter, which wasn't my favorite but Ok. I got a taco salad, and all our meals took forever, but I was really disappointed in the taco salad. I've never had a cold taco salad without beans. I love avocado or guacamole and it didn't come with it at all. I had to ask for some because it was missing. So it was disappointing. The ones who had the rice bowl said it was ok but way too much teriyaki sauce. I realize businesses need help and all, but if they want to draw people in they can do better than this. read more

We had just come off of the river and the little places in Maupin were closed. We googled places in Madras and this was one of the spots that came up. We had great burgers sandwiches and a Cobb salad! They had five different drinks for the five of us and everyone was happy with their selection! Been there a few times and for a while it was the only decent place for a working man to grab a beer in Madras. If you drink beer they have a good craft beer selection and it is priced adequately for a pint. When these folks had the growler station on the Hwy it was a much friendlier, and more inviting place to grab a pint, eat some peanuts and maybe munch on something off the BBQ. When they took over the old Meet Market it started out promising then went downhill. The food borders on mediocre to less than mediocre and last time there it was pretty bad.The owners are as different as night and day. The lady Jennifer is pleasant and friendly enough, her husband less than inviting more of a sour puss the kind of guy people tend to avoid and who should not be a bar owner. I gave it two stars because it is a 3.5 to 4 star place for a cold beer and a 1 to 0 star place to eat. read more

NO masks and NO social distancing in this restaurant whatsoever. Tables look the same as they did months ago. I asked the waitness why there weren't masks on staff and she replied that it wasn't enforced. Merely decent. The beer selection is great, the food varies from fine (the burgers) to underprepared (the fries), and service is so slow I would warn against bringing any elderly family members with you lest they expire before their food arrives. I've been here upwards of a dozen times by now, and the service has never not been an issue in some form or another. One point that may go neglected in others' reviews is the video lottery room. Restaurants with video lottery areas are common in Jefferson County, and Wild Winds, like every other such place, can draw an unsavory and vulgar crowd because of it. I've stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and sipped beer while raucous obscenities were shouted just feet away. By myself, that's not something I'm terribly concerned about, but it does make me think twice when I consider taking my family out to dinner. Everything here was above average. Given this is pub food in rural Oregon, I'm going 5 stars. In a bigger town, four stars. But anyways, enough of that. The decor is clean, uncluttered and surprisingly modern for a pub located in rural eastern Oregon. Cool floor plan with three levels: lower level has TVs, shuffleboard, etc-- game zone; main level has the bar, tables, TVs, booths--three bar zone; upper level has tables, windows and no TVs--the dining area. Portions weren't huge, but completely reasonable for the price. Full bar and ~8 beers on tap. Service was great. We got a blt and a french dip. Both cost around $12 each, so not cheap but not ridiculous either. Lettuce was fresh. Meat seemed fresh and felt tender. The au jus was nothing to write home about, but this is pub foods right? Passing through on a road trip, practically everything else in town was without power due to a storm outage. So, we ended up at a pub (not or usual first choice). Next time we will probably check out something different, but just for the sake of "adventure", not because anything was bad. We would totally come back. read more

My wife and I ate at Wild Winds Station for the first time today and loved it! We look forward to going back. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and fish n' chips to share, the portions were perfect and the food delicious. Brittani was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. My wife and I had just bought a car and took car of the DMV stuff in town so this experience was the cherry on top :) Would highly recommend a visit to Wild Winds Station whether you live in Jefferson County or are just passing through! read more
