I felt like I wrote a review for this Sonic already a few years ago but here we go again. In 2017, I use to work in Madera. Theres not much to do in an hour in Madera so the options are limited especially during the summer months. So, Sonic was like my go to spot. I just want something to cool me off and take up some time. I'm too far to go home for lunch (Fresno at the time) and too hot to pretty do anything outside so why not waste an 30 minutes at Sonic and by the time I would come back to the office it would be time to go back to work so it was like a win win. So I would just come to Sonic a few times a week. I would frequent this location alot so I was able to try out so many Slushies. Over the years I narrowed it down to my favorite. Medium Cranberry Slush with fresh lemon. Not too sweet and fresh tasting it hit the spot on those hot sunny days. They would have deals going on at certain hours like happy hour would start so I would try to take a late lunch so I can get half off on my slushie and the lines would long so I would try to beat the rush. The good days. Presently, I haven't been to this location in years since I don't work in the area anymore but they never failed to disappoint at all. Staff was always friendly and quick back then. I really don't eat the food here but a milk shake is delightful every now and then. Still enjoy a sonic slushie from time to time. read more

We ordered a super sonic hamburger with no cheese, tater tots with no salt, bacon toaster hamburger and a espresso classic shake. The super sonic had cheese on it, tater tots had salt on them and the toaster had white onions on it (its only suppose to have onion ring on it). We were not going to make a big deal about it and reordered a toaster hamburger and tell them no onions. Customer service is awful I literally never review anywhere but someone needs to tell the teens who work here that there's a difference between neutrality and just being moody and rude. It's such gross behavior. No ones asking you to smile and make conversation but damn, who hurt you? Cuz It wasn't me. I'm a teacher and deal with enough eye rolls from the youth. I don't really expect or care for enthusiastic greetings but receiving a scathing attitude because I order food or a drink at a place that (surprise) serves food and drinks is just such weirdo behavior. If the working conditions are that awful, that you seem to be channeling the attitude of a Victorian orphan, perhaps a change of scenery may be your thing. I came to this specific location with a very big group and the workers seemed to be a little overwhelmed with the big rush. I was listening to my friends ordering and one worker couldn't hear the name after 5 times of repeating her name. When the worker finally heard, she gave my friend attitude and completed the order. They were pretty quick with giving us our food and announcing our orders. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough shake, and when I got my shake there weren't any cookie dough bites in my shake. I asked politely and the worker nicely came out and took my shake and added cookie dough bites. Sonics has never been the best place for good service, so I don't expect much every time I'm here. I came here with a big group of people, about 20. It didn't help that one of their order intercom's were out of order, so the whole ordering process took much longer than it should have. Also, the credit card part at the bottom of the machine didn't work. So those that needed to pay with card had to pay after. One good thing is that even though ordering took a while, it seemed like everyone's food came out in a timely manner. As far as the food, their drinks/shakes & tots will always be the highlight for me at any Sonics. The bathrooms were also kinda gross, it just seemed like everything was wet: seat covers, toilet paper, etc. One weird thing at this Sonics, is that some people in my group asked for water, and some were charged for it, while some got it for free. Just bought 2 banana shakes for me & my daughter on Monday. while driving home I felt something WIERD in my mouth kinda hard & soft, so I spit it out on a napkin it was the bottom portion of the banana, ok fine but then when I arrived home I got another but this time it was super soggy then another to the point it made me gag! So I got a clear glass and poured the shake out ~ OH MY!!! What I saw was very disgusting lots of black stuff in my shake my daughter got disgusted and did the same and her shake had it too! Came here in the late afternoon, on the way home from a long trip, to an empty location with a group of people. I, being one of the last to order, saw many inconsistencies with the service. Many of us were given a little sass when ordering. Which can be excused by the amount of us there was, but with multiple people taking orders it just seemed like they were upset with us for being there. I ordered a large soda and a medium fry. The food for all of us came out quickly. But when my fries came, they were very cold. It tasted lIke they were stale, not fresh and like they had been sitting for an hour. I was a little confused because since I was one of the last to order, you'd think that they would have had to make more fries.. fresh fries. Sadly that wasn't the case. I'm not the biggest Sonics fan, but this solidified that for me. How could you get fries wrong? Many of us there had inconsistencies with our orders and felt like everything could have been better. I also used the restroom before we left which didn't have any paper towels. With these places I don't expect the restrooms to be perfect, but at least have something to wipe our hands with. This is pretty much for all locations in Fresno and Madera. The burgers are okay, the wait is super long and they almost always get the order wrong, you can bet on that! If you ask for no veggies you will get extra veggies and jalapeños too! If you ask for extra veggies then you will get none. Sometimes I get a random chicken sandwich instead of the beef and bacon burger I ordered. Sonic is by far one of my favorite fast-food joints. Their burgers and fries are really good. I am a fries and ice cream shakes type of girl and I always try to try other fries that they have. My favorite ones so far are their chili cheese fries, it's the right amount of chili and cheese. Soo good. But if you're wanting to try salty and sweet, I would go with their normal fries and then their peanut butter shakes. It's really good.
