I LOVE SONIC and I am so sad that we don't have one in Hawaii yet.....Thank god Sonic is down the street from my inlaws place. I've tried their foot long Chili Cheese dog, soooo good! But this time around, I got their boneless Asian Sweet Chili wings and I can honestly say it's the best wings I've ever had. The sauce is on point & they aren't greedy with it, it's tossed and perfectly coated. The chicken meat was tender and juicy. As for their drinks, they have happy hour from 2pm-4pm (does not include shakes) their drinks are half off at this time of day. I really like Sonic's Ocean water drink... try it! Oh, did I mention that they have the BEST ice?? The service here is excellent. Workers are super nice and friendly. One thing I love is that you can pull up, order your food and someone will literally deliver it to your car. Been coming to this Sonic for many years and I don't recall trying any other Sonic in Killeen. It used to be good to include the customer service. Although I haven't been here in awhile the service was very slow and it wasn't even busy on a Sunday afternoon. My hubby has to press the button so many times until the staff answered and sounded very uninviting voice. Like she was so ready to go home and tired of taking orders. While waiting for our food to go, the other staff that were delivering orders were just drinking and eating inside. When we finally got home and opened our food. It was even more disappointing. My burger looked like it was just thrown together and the meat was dry. My husband chicken sandwich was also disappointing. The chicken was actually extra crispy and dry, lol and was also thrown together. The tater tots were ok. Not sure if we are coming back here. I've had good Sonics and this place has gotten worst. I always go during the day, (before 5pm) and the carhops are always super friendly! I've been at other sonics where they are either rude or bleak, monotonous and then wait around for a tip. I can always expect great customer service at this location! I am super complicated when it comes to my orders, modifying EVERYTHING. Usually I get my orders wrong, or not JUST the way I like it. This location gets it right every time. I can tell they pay attention to detail. Of all the locations in the Killeen area, I would definitely recommend this one on Indian Trail in Harker Heights! Oh! I don't know if the oil for tots is not hot, but every time i come they're pale the burgers aren't the best either its like if you microwaved a patty and threw cheese on it and waited a minute. You really hope for the flavors and they're just non existent. My mom and I stopped here for our morning coffee. We parked and placed our order outside. We were waiting for about 5 minutes, until they came out and said they had to remake the coffee's because they got mixed up. My mom ordered the hazelnut premium roast coffee and I had caramel premium roast coffee. My mom was patient, I was telling her to leave and to go to the donut store that was across the street. They ended up only charging us for one. They weren't wearing skates, I don't know if they normally do or don't. I have been to others where they do wear the skates. My husband, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and I loved going to the Sonic in Harker Heights until the wait staff treated us very poorly. It took 25 minutes for us to get our food and drinks, and we didn't even get all of our food we ordered. Not only did they not correct the order, but they charged us for each fry that we go, even though they were part of the meal we had ordered. It took us another half our to get them to fix their mistake. I really like Sonic, I just won't go back to the one in Harker Heights. read more

Today I thought I'd try to order a hamburger. I ordered a hamburger combo. The put in cheeseburger combo. I told them, no cheese please. The little red blurb popped up, "no cheese". My wife likes this place, I think its nostalgic to her and her youth, but its pretty good "fast food." Its better than pretty much all "fast food" places I've been, but its really a drive-in and since this is only the second drive-in I've been to I'd compare the food to typical diner food. Their burgers tasted much more like real meat than the typical McDonalds or Burger King. Its a little pricey, but I think its probably about right for the medium between fast-food and a sit-down restaurant. Their shakes are very good too. read more

I normally stop at this Sonic once or twice a week for a soft drink and an occasional small vanilla cone (yummy). I just returned from a visit and the ice cream cone had tiny crumbs in it. They looked like what you'd find in the bottom of an electric toaster. I called and the person on the phone said the ice cream is newer and thicker. The crumbs are just part of the vanilla. Well, I like creamy ice cream, not ice cream with little pieces of.....whatever are in it now. So, I will not be ordering ice cream in the future. My husband and I went to the sonic on Indian trail on Sunday night wanting to get banana splits as we have many times. First it took them 7 minutes to ask for our order.
