Do not recommend! I was traveling to the area so I decided to try it and I was very disappointed. Good BBQ doesn't need a tone of sauce well this was smothered. I love sauce so the fact that I was disappointed by the amount of sauce is a statement. The staff wasn't very helpful when we asked for recommendations she said it was all good - false it was not. Unless you are into BBQ made in the over and cooked in liquid smoke to give the food the illusion it was smoked. If that was truly smoked they need a new smoker. The place inside really isn't meant to eat inside but as the name suggests pull up and eat plenty of parking to do that. Sides were subpar I wouldn't go back. Only thing we liked was the cornbread. I'm really not sure what to say. From the moment we walked in I can't say I felt unwelcome, but definitely can't say I felt welcome. Sounds crazy, but it's how I felt. In addition, we ate inside, and when I got in the car I smelled like used grease, as had the dining room. I got the stuffed potato which was not only overflowing with brisket and other tasty stuff, but the potato itself was smoked, so it had flavor throughout and a great slightly crispy skin. My friend had fried catfish, and it tasted super fresh. No tartar sauce, but the sides...Mac and cheese plus greens...were great. I'm not looking for anyone to roll out the red carpet, but I'll need to think about coming back. And then probably only for take out. read more

The brisket was super tender and juicy. The ribs so succulent slathered with homemade bbq sauce. The smoked sausages were fire. The collard greens perfectly seasoned and the yams are a must have. Actually all of the above are a must have! So delicious, if I lived in Tx I would definitely frequent this bbq spot. I don't like bbq sauce because I feel like it overpowers the meat's seasoning, and bbq sauce was on the ribs, brisket and sausage. Ribs tasted like lighter fluid, and some of the brisket was a little tough and not juicy. Mac and cheese and yams were good but nothing to write home about. Was in the mood for bbq so we decided on this spot after I read great things online. The service was as expected. It was about a 10 min wait for our order. We ordered a cheeseburger to eat while we sat and enjoyed the nice weather outside, a rib plate with mac n cheese and greens & a brisket plate with yams and greens to go. The burger was really good. Wasn't sure about the fries so we didn't get any but after tasting fries from my daughters order, I wish I had gotten them. They were seasoned perfectky and fresh. The sides on our BBQ plates were ok. The ribs were good and tender. I wish I'd got sauce on the side so that I could really get a gauge of the ribs alone. The brisket was a bit tough. I hope it was more about the direction of the slice than the quality of the cooking of the brisket. I will be trying them out again at some point. Their sides were quite good though! The baked beans were our favorite, followed by mac and cheese and potato salad. I loved their collard greens too. But the Corn bread was not memorable. Other than that, the place was nice and cozy and has both outdoor and indoor (limited) seating. The lady who took care of was nice. But our order did take a bit longer than I expected. Brisket sandwich is tender and delicious. The crust on the meat was so, so good. The pork ribs fall off the bone and the bone falls apart too. Plate meals come with option of two sides. Ordered potato salad and it was great. Mac n cheese was pretty good too. Their cornbread muffins are so light and yummy! I was hopeful, seeing so many high ratings but this just wasn't as good as it could have been. We wanted to find a local burger place that could rival what we make at home (which slaps) or any other burger spots in town other than a chain. Don't get me wrong, we love Whataburger and Freddy's but a good homemade burger can definitely beat it, IF IT'S DONE RIGHT. Unfortunately, this missed the mark. The burger meat was thick which could be great if it was done to a hot/warm pink middle to keep it juicy. The burger here was over cooked and for as thick as it was, it actually could have used a bit more seasoning. The quality of meat could have been better as well. Cheese was perfectly melted, veggies were all good. Great choice going with sliced red onion and I love that it comes with all the condiments Mayo, mustard, and ketchup. Again, only drawback is the low quality chosen. I understand keeping costs low but not when it effects your end product really should reconsider. Feed your customers like you would your favorite family members! Fries were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The cheeseburger and fries were the only items we tried but seeing the quality of ingredients used would definitely make me question trying anything else here. Also, and this is a big one, I could smell cigarette smoke in the back hallway near the kitchen. I don't know and I hope they aren't smoking in there, maybe in that hall, but it smelled so strong and awful. This couldn't be smelled in the front of the place. This place is a real gem. I come to Killeen for work very often and always try to check out a new BBQ joint when I'm in town. This place is well deserving of its 5 star rating. The brisket and ribs are some of the best I have had. Their spice rub and bark they get are fantastic. For sides I highly recommend the beans and potato salad but definitely don't sleep on the fries or mac and cheese either.
