I have been here once before, but today is a long story how I ended up getting treated to a double Bacon cheeseburger with fries and a cherry shake, but both times have been phenomenal. First there is plenty of seating and it is always clean. It is on the noisy side, but I think it lends to the casual and hip atmosphere. There is all you can eat peanuts in the counter while you wait, but don't throw the shells on the floor! Some of you may get that! If you get fries to go, they throw the thickly sliced fresh fries on top of the rest of your order. Too fun. No one else dares to do that! But you can be sure you will get a lot of ketchup in the bag as well. Their cheeseburger was juicy, stacked high and cooked to perfection. The sesame seed bun is thick and spongy and holds up very well. They add pickles, lettuce, huge slices of tomato and mayo on it as well for a great flavor. The shake was authentic. The best outside of home made. There were pieces of cherry in it so you get bold flavor. Definitely a treat. As always, the staff had personality and you will have great conversation. It's like you have known each other forever. It seems to be like that at other locations. They do their best to get the order to you quickly. We got it and then started eating it when we got home. My wife ordered a hot dog, and got it.... Cut up and on a bun... We've never seen a hotdog served that way, it's weird. The other burgers were cooked much more than I've ever had at five guys and were not juicy. They seemed to me more like a really good Burger King burger than a five guys one, which is a good few tiers below what I was hoping for. I really like the burgers. I wish there was a drive through because with a mobility disability, just getting into the restaurant and waiting in line is a whole ordeal. The doors and handicap parking and seating dont coordinate well for me on a rough day. I have chosen not to go before because of this. The food is so expensive, I can get table service elsewhere and spend less, but its delicious. The restaurant is always somewhat dirty. I dont like having to find the cleanest table. I dislike how the seating is set up where most people are sitting close to each other. They upgraded their drink machine to the smart coke machines. The counter service is always great and friendly. We visited the Harker Heights restaurant today 11/23/20 and upon entering we were enthusiastically greeted by the staff. My wife had never been to a Five Guys so the gentleman at the counter took the time to explain everything to her. You can order your burger the way you want with all the toppings listed on the easy to read menu. I ordered regular size cheese burger mine with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, mushrooms, grilled jalapeños and hot sauce. With seasoned fries and a large drink it comes out to a pricy $11.99. Or you can order a smaller burger. Still the experience of a cheese burger that's not really on my menu of daily foods is a treat. You won't regret licking the seasoning off your fingers like an animal as long as they're hot because for some reason they get cold really fast. The wait for your food is average, so in the meantime you can eat all the free peanuts located throughout the restaurant. After leaving here if you're like me you'll feel guilty and want to go run off this food. Lol. Note that for some reason I feel like I can order a milkshake sitting here in this cool atmosphere but nothing like that on the menu. The price is high, ~ $7 for a double bacon cheeseburger. But totally worth it. Burgers are big and juicy. Vegetables are fresh and crunchy/juicy I've never been impressed with the Cajun fries, and afraid to try the regular fries. But they continue to get rave reviews on their fries so you'll probably like them. Cherry Coke from the dispenser is a major plus! Plenty of salted peanuts to enjoy for free as you wait for your food. And fun fan crayon drawings are always posted up to a board. Something fun for kids and even adults. Five Guys posts up all the awards and national recognition they've received. And they deserve it. All Five Guys Burgers restaurants are good and this one is exceptional. First of all, there is no children's menu and when I asked what do they have for my 2 year old, they tried to sell me a $8 hot dog combo. Then the real shock came when the cashier told me my total. $48.00 for 3 adults and a 2 year old. You don't serve someone's lunch in paper bags and charge them fine dinning rates.
