It's run by a slew of elder aunties who probably know what they're doing. It's been a minute since I had the potato stew or Gamjah Tahng. It's a hearty pork bone broth style soup that is rich, deep, meaty, and just warms you right up. The way they do it here is quite traditional. You can taste the spices they used for the meat. Hints of ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom notes in the pork. The broth itself is spicy, deep, rich, hearty, and definitely gives the mouth feel of the Korean countryside. You don't smell the pork but you can definitely taste the rich fatty pork that the bones have been simmering in for the last day. Then what is new to me is the generous dusting of toasted perilla leaf seed powder that gives an added depth of flavor. It does come a bit bland as there is much of that salty bite so you can add it yourself as you see fit. All in all, it's a great place.
