The first time we walked in to a big sign at the entrance that said please seat yourself. The server came over, rudely leaned over the table and said we must follow her to a table of her choosing. Today, a polite employee greeted us and told us we could sit at any one of the three open seats. This same server came over and rudely told us we had to get up and go the hostess desk, even after we explained that we were invited to sit down. If you ask this server for no onions or peppers on a menu item, you are given a flippant remark as if the request really bothered her. A server this controlling and rude doesn't seem like a good fit for a casual beach restaurant.

Tiny. Hidden. Off the beaten path. And absolutely worth the effort…read more I stopped at Lori's and had what sounds like the simplest lunch imaginable: turkey, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on marble rye. Somehow, it was the best turkey sandwich I've had in years. Seriously -- everything about it was just right. The iced tea was fantastic too -- a blend of black tea, Earl Grey, and raspberry that was refreshing and delicious. The two ladies I met, the one who took my order and the one who made the sandwich, were as pleasant as can be! This is exactly the kind of tiny hidden gem I LOVE finding when I travel. If I lived anywhere near Rehoboth Beach, there is a very real chance I'd be eating lunch here three times a week. Seriously... find Lori's. Order a sandwich. Thank me later.

We ordered a large Italian and a large homemade turkey. The Italian sub was good. We were very disappointed in the homemade turkey. Our guests could not tell what it was, initially thinking it looked like tuna fish. It was dry shredded turkey meat. There were no condiments to provide flavor, even though we ordered the sandwich without any modifications, except we asked them to put the onions on the side. So the sandwich was extremely dry, and we were unable to eat it until the next day, when we added our own condiments to it. Adding some sandwich spread helped to moisten the sandwich, but it still does not pass for a good turkey sandwich. Unfortunately, we were out on a boat, so I did not take a picture of it. All that said, I would still come back, however I would stay away from the homemade turkey.

The decor and music choices marry the Latin-inspired cuisine with a classic Rehoboth east-coast beach sensibility. I was made to feel warm (at heart, they still have AC to keep ya cool) and welcome. The highlight was the service. The man (I believe the owner himself) was the cheeriest and kindest man I've met all week. He encouraged all of our choices and offered us to try the delicious beverages (tamarind was my favorite!) Food was served quickly and with a smile. I was very satisfied even though I must admit I kept my choice pretty standard with the Little Missionary. While just a footlong with mayo, ketchup, and mustard, it really hit the spot when I just wanted more of a plain hot dog. My friends got the Little German and Little Cock which were coated in all manner of ingredients. My friends were so content, they got another dog to go. The Ahi tuna on a fried wanton, mango, cucumber, avocado, seaweed salad, with siracha for the kick! The tuna was fresh and tender on the fried wanton was delicious. The calamari was not the best. It was mostly batter. I barely tasted the squid.each piece was small and For our main entrees we ordered the following: Crab cake dinner came with asparagus and rice. The crab cakes were big with no fillers. The rice was not fully cooked, there was still some crunch when you ate it. So we had it replaced with mash potatoes. And that was so good. Fish and chips: for the price, the 3 pieces of fish were very disappointing! There were barely any fish for the 3 pieces. It was mostly hallow in the batter. Check out my pictures. But the fries were good. Imperial flounder: three from our group ordered this. The portion was big! The flounder was soft and tender, added the stuffed crab was even better! My only issue with this was there was barely any seasoning! Which was fine in this case because we had people with high blood pressure. We had to add a little salt and pepper for some taste. Seared salmon - dinner special. My daughter had it cooked medium, but it came out a little more than medium. There was no raw pink in the middle. The salmon was good, but it came out bland with no searing. This was good too for my daughter since we don't want her to get use to eating salty food. Overall, this place is decent.

It was served with potato chips, and I would've preferred a choice instead of chips, but that doesn't seem to be an option. The fish was perfectly cooked and served with fries and coleslaw. My friend said the lobster bisque was delicious. We sat inside since it was a chilly day, but there is an option for outdoor seating. The inside has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The portions were adequate, particularly the fries. The cole slaw didn't need to be sweetened, but it was. A nice touch was moist wipes atop the waste/recycling receptacles. The price was a bit dear, however lobster is not cheap and I'll wager that overhead on Rehoboth Ave is steep.
