    Assorted donuts!
    Samantha A.

I was finally able to get to Somebody's Place to get my hands on their donuts. They made super cute heart shaped donuts for Valentine's Day that I didn't get a chance to grab. The long anticipated wait to try these donuts was completely worth it. Their hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 2pm. They know what they're doing. When your product is this good, you can make whatever hours you want. You build up the hype this way. You can't make these available on the weekends. I would be a regular here. I was able to bring the kids along with me and they were just as excited as I was to walk through the door. The inside of the place was cute with several tables to eat. They must have known we were coming as they had a high chair placed in front of the donut case for my littlest who climbed that thing with ease. My eldest in predictable fashion picked the chocolate frosted and my youngest nabbed the last strawberry frosted from the case. For the husband and myself I picked an apple cider, apple fritter, honey dipped lemon, and the fried dough, as recommended by the staff (amazing choice by the way!!). The woman at the counter was super nice and helpful. I ordered a hot coffee and even that was delicious! Instead of the kids asking, "Are we there yet?", every minute of the drive I was asking the kids, "Can I eat my donuts in the car?". I maintained composure and waited. Each donut tasted flavorful, soft, yet perfectly slightly crispy on the outside. I think my favorite of the bunch was the fried dough because it was so light and fluffy. I make far drives for good food, especially donuts, and this rivals some of the best donuts I've had. It's tough since this place is actually pretty close to me. From start to finish, just an enjoyable trip. I will be back to try other things. I had tunnel vision. They have a whole menu, but they had me at donuts.

    Malasadas

Somebody's Place makes automatic Azorean (Portuguese) Malasadas. This is the only place outside the Fall River/New Bedford/East Providence area or P-Town I have found them. Best if all, they are the real deal. I make the 45 minute drive there as often as possible for these delectable doughy delights. Their coffee is top notch as well and their service always great. Sorry about the pic, but I started eating before taking the pic...

    Big Cheesesteak
    David E.

I've only ever had the cheesesteak here and it's all I'll ever need. I just came back from a trip to Philly and this place blows the 2 places I went to there out of the water. You can taste and feel the real ribeye in the sandwich and it is huge! Only downside is going back to work after instead of taking a nice nap.

    House egg with chorizo

Cute shops with outdoor seating. I had one of their donuts at Elia's in Wilmington and had to make the trip. Super nice owners. Very friendly and willing customer service. I had the house egg with chorizo on a Portuguese. Mmmm Boxed up 1/2 dz donuts to go. Really good coffee too! News flash, "now open on Saturdays"!

    Allison G.

Highly recommend the House egg sandwich. The Portuguese roll is soft and a little sweet. The staff were so sweet and I hung out for a while and enjoyed my cold brew and a corner window seat in the small but cute cafe.

Wonderful service with freshly made donuts. Extremely tasty and moist. Gotta try if you love soft donuts. Thanks for being kind and welcoming to a new customer.

I had to try there steak and cheese especially hearing great news about it on the Merrimack valley page, and it definitely did not disappoint it was delicious so happy i got it and I will definitely be back!!

Vanilla raised, double chocolate, and Boston cream pie doughnuts
    Jessica B.

A+ egg sandwiches and amazing doughnuts along with great service and solid coffee. Placed a special order for holiday doughnuts (St Paddy's Day), and even though I dropped the dang box (and watched in horror as the box slo-no flip itself upside down haha) the doughnuts still looked and tasted fantastic I'm partial to the pillowy raised doughnuts, but anything with the chocolate glaze is delicious.

Tastes watered down. REGARDLESS, ALL THE STARS IN THE WORLD for their drinks. The peach shaken ice tea and raspberry rose teas have every complex note they describe. I'm jaded by all the fruity drinks/tea blends out there that are just too sweet and artificial. Nan's makes it perfectly. The white peach actually shines through, which is rare in my experience. The raspberry is REAL. Speaking as someone who enjoys artificial raspberry flavors of jam donuts and bottled ice tea...idk if Nan's makes it for real, but, if so, you can taste it! You still taste the tea, the fruits, the florals, it's not watered down, and best of all--not overtly sweet. Their fruit drinks have the perfect balance. It's genuinely refreshing and delicious. I find myself craving their teas all the time!!

**We found our new favorite spot!**…read more My partner and I stumbled upon Nan's Kitchen and what a delightful discovery it was! As first-timers, we were treated with such warmth and patience by the staff - no pressure, no rush, just genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. We started by sharing the hatch chili farro bowl with roasted cauliflower and hominy, fragrant ginger carrots, and lemon mustard salmon. The tomato harissa sauce and zhoug were absolutely incredible - seriously, these sauces are to die for! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavors were so well-balanced. Pictures are not perfect, but the lighting was so warm and comfortable, you will have to excuse them! Halfway through our meal, I spotted they had coconut carrot soup with chickpeas and ginger on the menu and literally ran back to order a cup. We ended up sharing that too, and it was such a smart move - the soup was aromatic and comforting with just the right amount of spice from the ginger. To drink, we had fresh lemonade and iced tea (both perfectly refreshing), and couldn't resist finishing with their banana pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. What really stood out beyond the exceptional food was how accommodating and friendly the service was. They made splitting dishes feel completely natural and were so welcoming when I dashed back for that soup! The attention to flavor and seasoning here is remarkable - every single component of our meal was thoughtfully prepared. We're already planning our next visit. Nan's Kitchen has absolutely earned a permanent spot on our regular rotation! Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared food with service that makes you feel like family.

But on this day, I thought to myself, "Self, I really hate making that busy-as-hell left turn on South Broadway in Salem. What if we took a journey to the Andover location instead?" And so it was. I enter this cozy little restaurant carefully tucked against a slightly submerged parking garage. Although, I probably shouldn't say "little" because the interior was noticeably larger than its Salem counterpart. It's also noisy AF in there when it gets busier than a New York subway. So naturally, I ordered my usual to-go (a Country Classic with an extra egg and hashbrowns for those who don't know). Only it wasn't *quite* ready on time. Which, to be fair, is kind of a minor point. Thing is, they have to shout your name whenever your order is finally ready. This in and of itself can prove to be quite the challenge when bellowing atop the already roaring crowd of customers impeding the otherwise accessible pickup shelves. I'll do my best to describe the interior since I wasn't really able to take pictures. But try to imagine an L-shaped dining area with the longest part hosting a row of countertop seats facing the windows. Beyond that sits a rather modest dining area with a few more tables. Next to that sits the gender neutral restrooms. It's strange and cramp, particularly when the place is packed tighter than a sardine can. Sufficed to say, I'm not much a fan of the interior design here. Being the partial recluse that I am, I offer the following best practice for a place so riotous: mobile order that shiz, cuh! Seriously. I had to put in my noise cancelling earbuds to appease my misophonia. The good news is....the food is still awesome. The eggs? Creamier than crème fraîche. Taters? Eh, I don't why...but these seemed way more seasoned the very first time I tried them. Fortunately, they actually pair rather well with their refined version of ketchup. The bacon? Well...let's just say I wish it were served well done. Not sure if I'm able to request that. But I'll scope out my options next time and get back to you all. That's it though. Nice place, WAY easier to get to than its Salem counterpart, but a bit too cramp and noisy for my taste which means....I'll likely ever dine in here. It's all good though, because I'm still giving Crack'd Kitchen & Coffee in Andover 4 Country Classics with all the fixins out of 5.

For food I ordered the Samosa Bliss and the iron pan (kadhai) hit with paneer and a side of garlic naan. The samosas were delicious: crispy on the outside and well-seasoned on the inside with a tangy sauce. The paneer was excellent in terms of portion size and texture. I would have preferred basmati rice with the entree instead of the yellow rice and more garlic on the naan, but overall it was a satisfying meal. There isn't a dessert menu but they have a case with a variety of Indian sweets. Service was very attentive and felt like you were eating at a family's home. Lots of nearby street parking. As with many older New England buildings, the entrance is a little tight and has a few steps so it may be difficult for some people to enter. I look forward to visiting again!

For dessert we opted for the Tiramisu that we took to go! After we got home we were looking forward to our tasty treat later in the day! Since our Chicken Piccata entrees were so delicious we thought that the Tiramisu would be as well, it wasn't! We both agreed that it was the worst Tiramisu that we've ever had!
