I've been here twice since first finding out about it a couple months ago. They have some amazing donuts, and it's probably my favorite donut place as of now. I'm typically not the biggest honey dipped donut fan, but I highly recommend theirs. A few others I've really liked include the maple frosted, vanilla cream, and tiger tail. Their chocolate honey dipped cake donut is also surprisingly good, and I'm usually not that fond of cake donuts. They're pretty expensive at $3.50 a donut, with some costing a bit more, but if you order half a dozen or a full dozen, you get them for cheaper. I also recommend going there within the first hour of them opening, because it seems they can sell out of donuts pretty fast. The second time I went an hour after opening, they were already sold out of the vanilla cream donuts and tiger tails. The donuts are to die for and the people are so nice! I always get the chocolate glazed donut, and I try the other flavors as well. I've not had a bad one yet! The chocolate glazed is the perfect mix of crispy bits and tender crumb. The mild bitterness of the chocolate is offset wonderfully by the sugar glaze. One of the last real doughnuts around !!! Been 3 times ,ate 2 doughnuts each visit. Brought home 3 doughnuts after each visit . The lemon filled coconut covered honey dippeded is spectacular and my favorite. One confession... I ate one of the doughnuts that was brought home each time. Somebody's Place makes automatic Azorean (Portuguese) Malasadas. This is the only place outside the Fall River/New Bedford/East Providence area or P-Town I have found them. I was finally able to get to Somebody's Place to get my hands on their donuts. They made super cute heart shaped donuts for Valentine's Day that I didn't get a chance to grab. The long anticipated wait to try these donuts was completely worth it. Their hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 2pm. They know what they're doing. When your product is this good, you can make whatever hours you want. You build up the hype this way. You can't make these available on the weekends. I would be a regular here. I was able to bring the kids along with me and they were just as excited as I was to walk through the door. The inside of the place was cute with several tables to eat. They must have known we were coming as they had a high chair placed in front of the donut case for my littlest who climbed that thing with ease. My eldest in predictable fashion picked the chocolate frosted and my youngest nabbed the last strawberry frosted from the case. For the husband and myself I picked an apple cider, apple fritter, honey dipped lemon, and the fried dough, as recommended by the staff (amazing choice by the way!!). The woman at the counter was super nice and helpful. I ordered a hot coffee and even that was delicious! Instead of the kids asking, "Are we there yet?", every minute of the drive I was asking the kids, "Can I eat my donuts in the car?". I maintained composure and waited. Each donut tasted flavorful, soft, yet perfectly slightly crispy on the outside. I think my favorite of the bunch was the fried dough because it was so light and fluffy. I make far drives for good food, especially donuts, and this rivals some of the best donuts I've had. It's tough since this place is actually pretty close to me. I've only ever had the cheesesteak here and it's all I'll ever need. I just came back from a trip to Philly and this place blows the 2 places I went to there out of the water. My son just brought home fresh, still warm donuts and malasada, which is a lemony flavored fried dough. The price seemed a bit steep, but they are homemade and a decent size. No comparison to the standard donut chain that doesn't take the "time to make the donuts" anymore (if you're over a certain age you'll know what I mean). I need to rerate this place - I'm giving it a solid 4.5 stars. I stopped in this morning because it's Friday and #donuts. I had read that this place (Somebody's Place, actually) had amazing donuts. Not that I'm a connoisseur but I like what I like. I ended up only getting a half dozen and I'll say they were very good. Unique flavors without being overpriced. They tasted fresh (didn't crumble so to me, shows they have been made recently). The woman behind the counter was friendly and even helped me pick a few out. I noticed that they had breakfasts for what seemed like reasonable prices and I'll be sure to try something soon. I pass this place daily and decided to get a lunch to go based on the reviews. Ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. The owner informed me that it was on a burger bun vs. a sub and I was ok with that. It was small indeed for the price ($6.95) and to my shock, the chicken tenders were almost burnt, there was hardly any hot sauce and it was just awful in taste. Stopped by based on seeing that they opened on Facebook and also recommendation from a friend that I "must try" their donuts. Picked up a malasada doughnut (their specialty) and a cinnamon sugar doughnut along with an iced coffee (total around $7). The young man who served took me order was very patient and friendly as I salivated over the warm case displaying the donuts. The owner was also there and greeted me with a very warm, welcoming hello and smile. The malasada donut made it to the car but not without a bite before arriving at my next destination. I saved half for a friend to try and she thought it was fabulous too. A crisp layer on the outside dusted with sugar, light and fluffy on the inside with a distinct flavor which we could not pinpoint (almond??) but loved! Not too sweet either and warm! I saved the cinnamon sugar for another friend who thought it was terrific but I'm sure it would have been better warm! The iced coffee was also to my liking, not too strong! They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches available all day. My fiancé works the overnights so for him early on having a dinner meal is great. Great option, great food, support these guys.
