Such great balsamic vinegars and olive oils! The combos are sublime. Some of my fam members claim not to like vinegar/oil but in love with these. We always get a few when in Solvang! Great customer service ! Love how you can go around the shop and taste everything. It's big enough so you're not bumping into everyone. Clean shop. There's always someone cleaning up spills!

There are a handful of words that will unquestionably draw me into your shop: "garlic", "vinegar", and of course, "olives". Solvang Olive Press may only advertise the one, but you'll find all three, in spades, inside this awesome tasting room! I've been to certain tasting rooms where the charge you a fee for some cubes of bread (which you usually get back as a discount off of any bottles you buy), but thankfully, that's not the case here! Grab a few disposable sample cups, and go to town tasting all the wonderful varieties of oils and vinegars scattered throughout this two-pronged salesfloor. They also have olives "in the raw", of course, as well as stuffed, plus pastas, sauces and other home kitchen goodies that make us greenhorn gastronomes giddy with glee!

The one thing I'd recommend in solvang if you come all the way here. Although not Dutch, this store specializes in many flavors of olive oil and balsamic vinegar . They very easily offer sample cups, hand wipes, and water and the sales people are very chill/ let you walk around and explore. The store is clean and spacious with lots of variety. They also have nonsweet pickled garlic and olives. For the vinegar, a lot of fruit flavor and i was so surprised that everything had distinct flavors- like i tasted the fig in the fight one and espresso in the other one. The oils were also fragrant and very smooth/not astrigent at all. A sample bottle costs around $19 with full coming to around $35-40. I loved sampling everything and would highly recommend this store!

Beautiful shop, friendly service & so many delicious olive oil & balsamic vinegar flavors. We had so much fun trying all the free samples. We ended up getting Kaimana Lychee white balsamic vinegar. There's 3 different size bottles. I highly recommend stopping by if you like olive oil or balsamic.

My friend and I were visiting and Solvang and we both thought this was a cute place everyone needs to go! They offer unlimited samples of many different olive oils and balsamic vinegar. There was a wide range of unique products! My favorites were the pomegranate and peach. They were very tangy and sweet-- great for a salad! I ultimately decided to purchase a small sample of pomegranate. The staff were also really friendly and informative. They gave us many great recommendations and helped with our selection. I am excited to come back to this place again if I ever go back to Solvang!

Oil's Well That Ends Well Nice boutique store located in DT Solvang that sells high-quality extra virgin olive oils, flavored olive oils, vinegars, and other food stuffs. The Good: *Origin and crush date on the oils *Friendly service *Free samples *$30/club membership ($15 yearly renewal) to save 20% on all oils and vinegars. *Online store that ships The Meh: *Prices are about what you'd expect, but at least you're getting a high-quality product out of it. The Ugly: *Parking can always be an issue here in Solvang so be patient. Conclusion: When in Rome do as the Romans, and when in Solvang buying boutique food is the thing to do.

I just left and I already want to go back! They have amazing oils and balsamic that you can taste to see what you like. They help you pair them together and everything I tried I loved! My favorite was the fig balsamic as it was so fresh! I ended up buying the lavender balsamic mixed with the lime oil and I'm excited to try it on home made pizza and breads! The employees were so sweet and helpful answering all the questions I had. The checking out process was nice and easy. I look forward to coming back!

More flavors of balsamic vinegars that one can imagine.

Located on the main street of Alisal, Solvang Olive Press has an attractive and spacious storefront with two entrances. One door enters into their balsamic vinegar tasting room, while the other to their fresh, first harvest extra virgin olive oils tasting area. The two are conjoined in the rear of this contemporary store. Samplings are encouraged, so that one can find a favorite variety, or a few, to take home and enjoy. Small disposable tasting cups are provided for samplings throughout the store. The store is impeccably clean and well attended to by the knowledgeable staff. They carry more than 35 dark & white balsamic vinegars varieties and over 25 fused & infused extra virgin olive oils. Thus, over 70+ varieties total. The olive oils are bottled locally for maximum flavor and nutrition, with no pesticides and no GMOs. The all natural balsamic vinegars originate from Modena, Italy. In addition to the balsamic vinegars and olive oils, they offer a collection of Pure Organic Maple Syrups with very aromatic barrel-aged and infused varieties. Solvang Olive Press also offers a nice variety of gourmet pastas and sauces, olive tapenades, and stuffed & flavored olives. There is also a line of skin care products offered.

Great find in Solvang! There are over 70 varieties of balsamic vinegar (white and dark) and olive oil for FREE tasting. Of course, after a few tastes, it can get confusing especially with oil. Here are some tips: 1. Before even getting started ask the staff for their own suggestions so you can optimize your visit. 2. The oils are all together on the right and left are the balsamic vinegar. 3. For me for spending this much $ on oil and vinegar, ask yourself if you will use for cooking or as dressing. My opinion, for spending this much, has to be the center/star of the dish to appreciate the taste of either the oil or vinegar. Before tasting, ask yourself what your favorites are anyway so we ended up with the Gravenstein Apple, Lavender and Denissimo balsamic vinegar plus the Harissa olive oil (hard to find in local groceries). 4. I ended up purchasing the lifetime $30 membership to get the discount. it is worth it if you are buying over $100 worth. I calculated and our total (BEFORE deciding to buy the membership) was going to be $135 but with membership I would get 20 percent discount so after doing the math, I paid $133 for the same items and now I have the lifetime membership to use for future purchases either in person or online. And yes, it is hours from me but perfect gifts for friends who have everything and are picky and if ever passing by Solvang - always a good stop to make.

Black truffle olive oil, green chili olive oil, cayenne olive oil and blackberry ginger balsamic vinegar.

Although nowadays spices are much more easier to come by (just drive down to your nearest supermarket!); many spices are still on the scarcer side and represent luxury. Have no fear, though, because you no longer have to board a ship and find the passage to the Middle East but can simply head to the Solvang Spice Merchant. Solvang Spice Merchant is a female-owned (shout out to girl bosses!) spice boutique located in the central hub of the famous Danish tourist city of Solvang near Santa Barbara. Opening its doors a couple years before the Covid pandemic in 2018; Solvang Spice Merchant not only survived but thrived with a brick and mortar storefront and an online shipping option (flat rate of $10 shipping no matter the size of purchase!). The business features hand-crafted spices and seasonings, teas, and foodie gift sets serving both tourists and Solvang residents, alike. My boyfriend and I ventured into the Solvang Spice Merchant when visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest and gazed our eyes on a shop that would make any King or emperor proud. The store is filled with floor to ceiling shelves of spices/seasoning mixes categorized by country/region and then further sub-categorized by ingredients, styles (BBQ, Pickling, etc) available in various bottle sizes (plus some can be purchased at the counter in bulk, as well). If you can conceive a certain spice or seasoning, trust me that Solvang Spice Merchant has it! Even if you are not in the market for spices; the store is fun to browse and discover all of the spices from around the world. My personal spice journey has endlessly been looking for Garam Masala (an Indian spice) which I could have purchased at the Indian shop by my apartment in Los Angeles - but what fun is that?! It is much better to come across Garam Masala at Solvang Spice Merchant where the spices are combined by hand and with love while enjoying the world of spices! We purchased a 2.3 oz bottle (the smallest) of Garam Masala for $10.25 which isn't cheap: but expected from a boutique spice store. I have since used the spice mix on chicken, Steelhead trout and steamed veggies and it is absolute perfection and makes my apartment smell delightful with its warm spices. The only complaint? None of the two young females behind the counter welcomed us into the store, offered any samples (which I learned the store does indeed do), ask if we needed help, etc. Solvang's main gimmick is being a welcoming tourist city ESPECIALLY during Christmas as it is known as the, "Most Christmas-y City in the Nation". Unfortunately, that Hallmark Christmas movie customer service was absent the night of our visit. Despite this minor qualm; Solvang Spice Merchant is a charming spice shop fit for a King, emperor, sultan or just Averages Joes like you and I visiting Solvang. Not only will you find whatever spice your heart desires but you will have an enjoyable time simply scanning the shelves.
