So much fun if you like olive oil or balsamic vinegar. I personally am a fan of balsamic over olive oil, but it was great to see the pairings of flavors. What different ones go well together as well as which flavors of each stand apart. They have so many different flavors of each (over 35?) some are really unique. The bottles also come in 3 sizes (there is also an additional mini size) for all of the flavors and you can try them all. They also have some pastas and sauce you can purchase to go with your olive oil and balsamic. I got a few different ones and can't wait to try them out. read more

Delicious, used it as a dip with soft French bread. Served it as an appetizer before turkey dinner on thanksgiving day! OMG. This remind me of the Olive press from Napa. Only we it's more varieties. I wish they had a little bread for dipping the olive oil but it was still great. I spent over $200 but they had so many varieties it was too hard to pick. The white truffle olive oil tasted delicious. I know I'll be using that up. Also the variety of vinegar were great! Really flavorful. It was so hard to pick and limit myself. I like their hostess set where they pair different olive oil with different vinegar. You can join their club where it cost $30 but you save 20%. So if you spend over $150 then it's worth it to get. And you get order online as well and get 20% off for the year. No pics this time. I was too busy tasting and choosing. Ohhh. They also have maple syrup infused with different flavors. Yummy. Got the elderberry and the bourbon one. read more

Cutest little shop filled with olive oils, olives, vinegar, and more. I was in heaven trying out all the different flavors. They offer mini sample cups to taste the different flavors of oils. Basil, garlic, and coconut were some of my favorites but my purchase of the day went to the pomegranate. It was absolutely delicious. The staff welcomed me to the shop and answered all of our questions. They offer three different sizes of olive oils for purchase. Fraud alert! This shop is a BIG fraud! They give you high quality samples to test which has a very high quality;however ,the actual bottle you buy are different from the test samples. We bought olive oil, pomegranate and cinnamon pear Balsamic Vinegar from them. We love what we tasted from the samples in the shop. But when we went home and opened the bottles, they had very poor quality with totally different taste!!! My advice: If you liked one of the samples of vinegar or olive oil and you actually bought those bottles, tell them to open the bottle infront of you. Now taste from the bottles you bought. You will see a HUGE difference in quality, taste, and texture even the color. Ask for a refund right away!!! read more

Different options of Maple syrup is the best! My favorite is the Rum maple syrup, there are other types including bourbon syrup. There's also a large variety of balsamic and olive oils. Keep your bottle and take to refill when ever your in the area. We live in Pismo, so it's a fun day trip to head to Solvang for a change in scenery. read more

I had heard from a few locals that we needed to come by here if we wanted olive oil, so I was excited to check it out. My grandmother is a huge olive oil fan, so I wanted to pick some up for her for Mother's Day. We also cook a lot, so I was excited to see all the pairings people were talking about. When we arrived it was pretty slow, maybe two other people in the store. We looked around a bit and were really impressed with the selection. We walked around to see what they had before sampling anything and were indecisive what to try first. I knew my grandmother would have loved a couple of them, so I tried a couple olive oils first then moved onto the other side of the store to find a vinaigrette to pair with it. Prices are a little steep, which I doesn't really bother me, if everything else about the business is great. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was somewhat annoyed that after several minutes the owner or staff member working there pretty much just ignored us. Didn't even greet us with a simple hello, which was strange since everyone else in Solvang is so friendly! Maybe we were spoiled by such stellar service and friendliness that it caught us off guard. But, when she gave us a bit of a weird look when walking around, I decided not to give them my business. We decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. Very good olive oils and vinaigrettes. I had never gone olive oil tasting before so I thought that was kinda weird. They give you these little cups and u put olive oil in it and then drink it. Then they give you bread to clean your pallet. My first mistake was when the lady poured a lot of olive oil in my little cup and she told me to drink it. Do not drink the whole thing like I did. Your supposed to only take a little taste. I didn't know that and it did not work well for me. I liked it better when you dipped the bread into the olive oil. They had lots of different infusions though. I ended up getting the olive oil infused with truffle butter and olive oil infused with blood orange. read more

This store is an olive oil and balsamic heaven. Numerous options with free tasters on all their oils and balsamics. Very friendly and helpful staff. The prices are competitive and the store is centrally located. After sampling several amazing flavors I purchased a few bottles of olive oil. Unfortunately, that evening my wife and I went to a nearby bar and I left the oils there. We left town early the next morning and I later realized I left them at the bar. The bar was kind enough to hold onto the bottles and walk them over the the Solvang Olive Press for me. I called the Olive Press and explained the situation and asked them if I could pay them to ship me the bottles. To my amazement, the Olive Press was sympathetic to my error and told me they would ship them to me, for FREE...... They did in fact ship them to me for free, when they had no obligation to as this was not their mistake. Their customer service was beyond great and I will certainly be purchasing more of their tasty oils and balsamics next time I am in Solvang. I also whole heartedly recommend this store to anyone visiting Solvang, I promise it won't disappoint. read more

Terrible customer service. We walked in and didn't even receive a simple "hello" or any form of acknowledgement. A dog walked in with its owner and it got a huge welcome by the staff. This place is really cool. Lots of amazing oils and vinaigrette's from all over the world. Some really fun and interesting infused flavors. The sampling was fun. If I'm ever in a town with an olive press, I'm going to go. It's so hard to find quality olive oil these days, as the supermarket brands just don't cut it. You usually have to find them in specialty stores, or those stores like Solvang Olive Press, that dedicates itself exclusively to selling high-quality olive oil. We bought two bottles which were dark and sealed in order to preserve the flavors. The cashier wrapped them for us, and threw in a couple of information cards for us to read later. One really cool aspect of this shop is that they have olive oil terms and definitions on a large placard right above the registers which you can skim as you're checking out. read more

It was our 2nd time to visit Solvang but particularly Olive Press this past week. We were both looking forward to trying out new oils and balsamic vinegar. There were several customers who were already in the store. I noticed the clerk behind the counter never approached us or greeted us. After the last customer made their purchase, it was just my husband and I in the store. My husband was trying out the oils while I was on the opposite side of the store trying the balsamic vinegar. On 3 different occasions while we were there, the girl and yes she was a girl called out and said 'you look confuse'. i turned and looked at her but she didn't directly look at me, so I continued to try other balsamic vinegar and she said it a second then a third time. I realized my husband and I were the only one's in the store. Solvang Olive Press - is this how you teach your people especially this childish girl to treat your customers. I am a club member and I was very much insulted by the way this person treated us. this employee needs to be re-trained on what customer service is. read more

We were visiting from NY and had tried tasting oils and vinegars at 5 other shops from Capitola to Solvang. Shalom worked with us and was gregarious, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. This shop had, hands down, the BEST oil and vinegar selection by far. Even better than that, their imported selection is sugar-free, organic, and boasts simply pure and exquisite flavors. When returning home, we plan on joining their club (this appears to offer the best overall value) and ordering several flavors, including fig vinegar and walnut olive oil. Great set up and selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegar. Oh and there's even a nice little beauty section with bath/shower stuff. The concept is simple, using the tiny paper cups that are provided, taste the olive oil or balsamic vinegar of your choice, with or without bread. We were told to just taste the olive oil on its own and that the bread was for cleansing the palette in between tastings. Boy did we learn a lot from that session. While the infused and flavored oils were plentiful, exotic and mostly good, we opted for the ultra premium evoo and the denissimo balsamic vinegar. Game changers for future caprese salads! This is a must stop location when in Solvang and is located at a great point to start or end or trip with. Lots of ideas for gifts here. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back! read more

The selection and types of the oils are amazing and the shop is lovely, but I was really put off by the staff. When me and my sister walked in they completely ignored us. Not a greeting or asking if we need assistance, even as we perused the select and discussed the many types. However, after several minutes a group of older, more fair skinned guests walked in and one of the young girls' walked right over to them and asked if they needed any help. This place is wonderful! All of the fused and infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars are displayed nicely and it's very easy to sample each and every one of them (little cups provided). Plus, there is a large bowl of bread pieces on each table to dip into the oils and vinegars! Yum! I really enjoyed the olive oil so much that I came back the next day to get another fused "Cayenne Chile Pepper Olive Oil" for my boyfriend. We planned two days in Santa Ynez and had Olive press on our itenary and would have made a purchase without question had it not been for the teen-like attitude of one of the employees.
