1st time here and it was great! Excellent signature drinks. Even though they were busy our drinks, appetizers and food came out quickly. Megan F. was our server and she was super nice and went above and beyond with taking care of us. Can't wait to come back. read more

Had dinner on the patio on a Saturday night- best patio in Augusta! Ordered a burger which comes "well done" which I am not a fan of but the waitress explained that was how they were cooked, no problem because it was excellent! I believe they grind their own meat and it reminded me of a meatloaf - in a good way. Had a jalapeño mule and a mojito which were very good too. House made salad dressings on a wonderful side salad - the pesto vinaigrette is a must. So why not 5 stars? The croutons on the salad were generic 1$ a bag from dollar general (only downfall of the dinner) and my biggest complaint is the smoking crowd comes outside and leans against the wall 5 feet from your table. A designated smoking area is needed and a ashtray to prevent smokers from putting out their cigarettes on the wall and ashes flying in your meal! Service was excellent being opening week, 5 different "managers" checked in on us. (Hope it stays that way) will definitely be back often! read more

Always a great experience here! Great sushi, wide variety of other things on the menu, outdoor nice seating, good selection of drinks. One of our favorites! read more

All you can eat sushi night is a joke. It takes them 30 minutes per roll so unless you want to stay for 4 hours you get cheated. Would have gladly went somewhere else had they been honest about time to get sushi read more

The Sole roll is sooo good. Spinach dip was good, few chips, but I got my order to go. One of the best sushi places in Augusta. I'll come here every time I come up. read more

Fantastic atmosphere. Drinks were amazing and so was the food! Definitely a place to visit. However, the service could use some improvement

We are somewhat new to the area and wanted to give them a try since we've yet to find really good sushi. We came in on a Friday night around 5pm with our toddler. They were not busy at all, which we expected and planned for because we had our daughter with us. The young brunette hostess could not have been more rude if she'd tried. The main dining space was practically empty, yet she took us outside without asking us where we wanted to sit. Augusta in the summer is HOT... and did I mention we have a child? Clearly she wanted nothing to do with having her in the main restaurant. I was going to let it pass because there were some shaded areas, but then I asked her if smoking was allowed and she said yes and proceeded to try and seat us out there. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer for my child not to be exposed to second-hand smoke. Ever. Much less when there's plenty of indoor seating available. When I told her that I'd prefer to be seated inside she looked at me with disgust, never said a word to us, went inside and eventually reappeared... without a kids menu. Of course. Had the waitress not been so nice to us, I would've walked out. The food was really good and our service was amazing, but I would really struggle to go in there again if that hostess were at the door. read more

AUGUSTA, DOWNTOWN NOW HAS A NEW SPOT THAT CNA ACTUALLY MAKE HE CRSA GO DOWN THE ROAD OF "HIPSTER city" IN ThE MAKING., sO WE WERE GOing to the 'other' sushi fusion place, we parked and the manager owner had the audacity to tell us he open back up at 5:30, this is friday and the time was 4:48, so we are to wait 40+ minutes on a Friday ? . Oh well his loss, BIG loss. we walk a bit to find Sole, we opent door and asked if they were open to serve, Mike one of the gracious owners said we will be ready to serve in about 10minutes( its now about 4:55) But your welcome to come in for a cocktail , Music to my ears, We went in to see aplace that took me back to SoHo, tribeca, west greenwich, parts of london, you get the picture, Sue our Barkeep was cool and fixed us a fesh take on the beach bum with bourbon, AWESOME. WE ordered the shrimp tacos tapa, which were swell, we ordered some sushi to go, that wa awesome, now get this, we came back the next day on Saturday to eat again We forgot what we ordered I feel bad becasue Mike one of the other awesome owners, who greeted us Friday also , he did the decor which was like I said , totally hipster, overall we will be regulars, The places downtown will either step up or they will close, SOLE has my support my patronage and I'm bringing friends, Great job guys read more

Service wasn't great. Sushi was 100% rice, and zero fish. The only good thing was the creme brûlée.

This place is awesome! It closes a little early, but it's still an awesome spot. They have great specials going on during the week. I was able to catch the Wednesday special buy one get one free. I indulged on the Spicy tuna roll and the Philadelphia Roll and they where absolutely divine! Very fresh, it took awhile for them to bring it out, but I guess perfection takes sometime. I enjoyed the apple sake which was great and you can have it hot or cold, I like mine hot. My husband enjoyed the long island ice tea and he had to really enjoy it because he had two. The atmosphere is very inviting and laid back. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist when need. We also when in a on a Friday night, they have live music and word gets around, because the place was packed, again I think they close a little too early because when we got there they were no longer taking food order, that is how we ended up at Kawa. They have great outdoor seating that will be packed during the spring and summer months. I briefly reviewed the menu and that serve a wide variety of food. the Sushi menu goes from the Georgia Bullfrog, Nuclear Roll, Gamecock(for all of my alumni), the grove roll, seaside roll, and so many more. The serve burgers, salads, grilled items and specialty rolls as well. They have happy hour specials daily from 4-7 with domestic bottles, draughts, house liquor, margaritas, and comos. Martinis and cocktails are also available. Another treasure in Downtown Augusta. Really cool laid back spot with great things going on inside during the week. We will definitely find our way back here often. read more

This is the new Japanese restaurant opened at downtown augusta. It's sort of a fusion since they also have tacos on the menu. It was a Monday and they were packed! Since the group I was with did not reserve a table, the wait time was something like 70 minutes so I just sat down at the bar and tried the all you can eat sushi for $13.99. I was allowed to order 2 plates of sushi at a time. I orders the Cali rolls and spicy tuna rolls. The service was average at best. I guess they were busy and the staff were still learning the menu, I had to repeat my orders several times across the bar. The rice of the sushi were dry and sushi were not well made. The time in between rounds of sushi is quiet long, around 25 minutes, again probably because they were busy. I suggest to order the next two dish right after the precious orders have arrived. I gave it three stars because I like the atmosphere, big tvs, and they also have a fenced outside area. But if you only interested in good sushi, I would not recommend it. read more

Don't waste your time! The service and sushi was terrible. The BOGO Wednesday sushi was a joke. There were only 6 tiny pieces per roll and they both tasted totally boring. The manager overheard me ordering the sushi to go and informs me that I can't do that! There is nothing on the menu or the website that tells you that. So unimpressed with the overall experience that I will never go back. read more

We were initially disappointed when told we couldn't sit on the patio because it was full, but the food and server more than made up for it. The mashed potato egg rolls were amazing! I know it sounds weird but you have to try them!! We had three different type of tacos and all were excellent. read more

This place is great! Awesome sushi, drinks and grit fritters!! If you don't want to sit inside, go out to the patio. I'm glad to see them in downtown Augusta. read more

The sushi was unique and delicious. They had a wide selection of sushi. I had the Maine and Aloha roll. Be aware the ones with the habanero pepper are spicy. The crunch is lightly applied but super crunchy. The waiter was ok and we had about 3 managers come and check on us. One of them even gave us a free shot! It was definitely worth going to. read more

Just had a great meal at Sole! I love their BOGO sushi night. Our server Becca was amazing!

Amazing service. Amazing sushi. Fantastic atmosphere. Loved the BOGO maki sushi, and the prices were as refreshing as the jalapeño mule. Definitely feels like a place to be a regular. Can't wait to see how Mike develops this place throughout the next few months. Found my new favorite hangout patio! read more

The sushi is super Americanized. I ordered a roll and it was fried for so long that the raw tuna came out cooked. I also ordered chicken strips that were so greasy I couldn't eat them. However, the grit fritters were awesome. The service is okay. Mostly ditzy college girls who act like they've never had a job before. read more

The only good things about this place were the waitstaff and the hosting staff. They were amazing. I felt sorry for our waitress because she had to see to the needs of an absolutely huge party on her own, though, somehow, she kept up with everything. She even knew which person got which entree, drink, and appetizer. Kudos to her. That's why I gave her a 30% tip. Sole IS NOT JUST A SUSHI PLACE; they have a menu that includes sandwiches, burgers, salads, and grill items. The food ranged from very good to deplorable. For an appetizer, I had the jalapeno grit fritters, which had no taste on their own without the spicy ranch dip. Many members of the party also had the grit fritters and most agreed that they were disappointing. Most of my party ordered sushi as an entree, which looked good and everybody seemed to enjoy it. For an entree, I had a patty melt (a cheeseburger with fried onions), which smelled like a dirty wet dog and the meat itself tasted like salt and breadcrumbs. It also came with soggy, cold fries. I sent it back, had it removed from the bill, and didn't order anything else because, though I like sushi, I didn't want sushi. If the menu is going to include burgers sandwiches, and grill items, hire cooks who can do more than roll sushi and don't cheap-out on meat. The bar was disappointing. The beer and cocktail list was outdated. The bartender could not make two cocktails I wanted to try because the seasonal liqueurs were no longer available. The three beers I tried to order were also out of stock because they were fall seasonals. When I asked the bartender what beers were available, she just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. Bartenders need to be more than pretty faces in little black dresses; they should know what they have and they should be able to offer a viable alternative to customers when they order something that isn't available. It also also helps when a bartender knows the difference between a stout, a porter, and an IPA or craft brews versus swill like Budweiser. Sole's ambiance was that overdone generic industrial chic that seems to be permeating the restaurant scene in most older downtown areas. It was loud due to the open ceilings and the moderately loud thump-thump music that echoed through the place, which meant conversations amounted to yelling at the person across the table. The many tv's seemed like it was trying to fit the sports bar market as well. In short, there was a split-personality vibe about Sole. The music gives the restaurant a club vibe. The tv's say sports bar. The food and drink options suggest it wants to be upscale and intimate. The combination just doesn't make for a pleasant dining experience. Choose one. Sole joins a long list of overpriced mediocre-to-below average locally-owned restaurants in downtown Augusta. I lived most of my life in one of top five food cities in the world and Sole wouldn't have lasted six months in that market. Sushi places are a dime a dozen in Augusta and the numbers of craft brew houses are growing. Sole needs to decide what it's going to be-- a sushi bar that concentrates on wine and martinis and provides an upscale dating or business atmosphere or another sports bar and grill type place because it's failing at doing both. I won't go back. read more

Cool place. Great date venue. Or just hangout. Excellent sushi but also offer more mainstream menu items.

Excellent atmosphere, along with great sushi! Ashley was amazing for our party of 15. This is a great place for a weekday break.

I came here for my birthday last month and did the all you can eat sushi and it was terrible. Such a let down. I go to Kinja every Friday night for sushi and I heard Solé had good sushi so I thought I'd give it a try. Worst birthday decision ever. I tried four different roles and they were all bad. Step up your sushi game. That wasn't the only bad thing though. My mom got the shrimp and grits and they were by far the worst I've ever tried. They had some kind of gravy in it and it overpowered the entire dish. But that's easy to do when the grits to gravy ratio is 1:1. Last but not least, my brother got some kind of fish (I think it was mahi mahi). The fish was fine. But if I had to say anything about the entire plate (with the vegetables and grit cakes), it's that it does not go together AT ALL. Not enough taste or salt; way too bland. If the vegetables were reduced in some sauce or the fish had something on top of it, it would maybe go together. My dad got the steak and he said it was good. For a meal that cost around $125, I'd say it was at most worth $30. You definitely don't get what you pay for at Solé. Won't be going back here ever again. read more

Loved the sushi!!! Great atmosphere but the waitress was not very attentive I had to sit around waiting for her to come back several times.

Dinner here tonight for our group Christmas party, server was awesome!! But had some issues and when brought to the managements attention we were pretty much blown off and it was our fault. read more

I was so excited to try this place out last night but was disappointed with the experience. Let's start with the good because there were good things. The host was extremely nice and accommodating. We were told there was a 25-30 minute wait and we weren't sure if we could wait that long so we suggested going someplace else but he stepped right in and said he'd get us a table quickly. We ended up sitting at the bar when some seats became available. The outdoor patio is on par. I haven't seen anything like it especially in downtown Augusta. 5 stars for that!! However, the bartender forgot my friends water 3 times and hardly checked on us and our drinks. Our food came out wrong which was unfortunate. I ended up ordering the ahi tuna after our sushi was messed up which was overcooked and extremely overpriced. It was $21 and there were a lot of lemon seeds in it. My friend was in a hurry to leave so I kept the issue to myself to speed up the process. The bartender split the checks wrong which I understand accidents happen, but then he ran our cards for the incorrect checks. By this time everyone was frustrated, late for the babysitters, and wanting to get out of there. Two out of three of our party works in F&B so we are usually pretty patient with restaurant issues but there were way too many to ignore last night. There are so many delicious restaurants downtown that are cheaper and better quality food, so I don't think I'll be returning to Sole. Hopefully this review was helpful as some of these issues can be worked out. Thank you. read more

The food was great and loved the decor. Very open a big inside, which made it a little noisy but not to bad. The beer was cold but no draft beer. Please get some draft beer. read more

Two nights in a row.... We are relocating to Aiken and Anne Fulcher from the GVW Report referred us to her Favorite restaurant. Michael and his staff are fantastic. My GF is a vegetarian and Jacob and Michael custom made her a roll that she will not stop talking about. Being an F&B manager; I can't say enough about the service. We drove 30 minutes 2 nights in a row and it was well worth the drive. Cheers!! read more

Me and friend went there on Monday for the all you can eat sushi. Omg. It was amazing. That along with the grit fritter thingy. Love the atmosphere read more

We go here all the time. Monday nights are buy one get one free sushi and the Fireside Roll is the best. Best sushi in Augusta hands down!

My parents took me here for my birthday the Monday of Master's week. I expected a long wait to be seated but we were seated immediately. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the grit fritters. The atmosphere is nice, the side doors were left open near our table and the weather was amazing. We are all ready to go back again for the all-you-can-eat sushi on a Monday night. read more

Horrible. Absolutely would not recommend this place for anyone. Arrived with 6 people for dinner at 5:45 pm. They said they did not have seating when there was obvious seating. We said we were willing to wait or split the group into 2 tables but they said they did not have seating. This place needs to be investigated. read more

I have had better sushi from Publix. Service is slow and servers are not well trained. Hostess asked me what I wanted while I stood in front of the Please Wait to Be Seated Sign. I told her "a seat". We waited 10 min to get a server at all and 10 minutes for our check. We won't be back. Cool atmosphere but poorly managed. read more

Great place to eat sushi. All the appetizers are great and sometimes if there are four or five of us we will order six or seven appetizers to share. It is very loud there just like a lot of places downtown because of the concrete floors and brick walls but other than that the service is great. I would recommend making reservations. It's one of the few places that you can do that. read more

Over hyped. I don't get it. The atmosphere inside is really nice, couldn't tell about the patio because they had it all closed up two hours before they closed. They were also flipping chairs and mopping an hour before they closed. The bartenders were nice enough, but the sushi tastes like it's from Kroger. read more

I ate at sole on Monday 14th for their all you can eat sushi. After waiting 45 minutes for my drink the manager came to talk to me and rushed our drink to me and my boyfriend. After over an hour wait our first round came out, which was wrong, our 2nd round came out an hour after that at room temperature and after talking to the manager who made excuses for the sushi being room temperature she comped my meal. Now I have food poisoning I am throwing up, diarrhea, and a fever. So my recommendation is that you stear clear of this place at all cost. read more
