Solartech completed our solar pool heating installation today, and I couldn't be happier! The quote was reasonable, workmanship and materials used are outstanding. The installation was completed ahead of schedule. I had called a total of five providers, received quotes from three, the fourth couldn't execute this year, the fifth never provided a quote. Solartech was by far the most professional. Ken provided a detailed quote, which we used for our HOA paperwork. Once we decided to go with Solartech, things moved quickly, Lizbeth scheduled a final site inspection, the project was scheduled and well managed by Damian. The actual installation was handled by Robert and Jonathan, who completed the install a day earlier. Robert, Jonathan and crew never complained about installing on our rather steep slope, and were accommodating and understood my concerns about accessibility and placement of the system on the slope. Very recently Solartech installed a solar heating system on our roof so that our swimming pool will be much warmer than in the past. The salesman was very professional, personable and likable. There was no high-pressure, he just shared really good information in a pleasant manner. Then when the field supervisor came out he was just as great to work with as the sales guy, and that doesn't always happen in the construction world. Then when the installation crew showed up they were just as great as the first two guys. They did better than a 'first class' install job and we are very pleased we chose Solartech, out of the three companies we interviewed. They listened to us, did exactly as we asked, and explained everything to us along the way. At first their price was higher than the other two companies but we expected that because of the professionalism they demonstrated. In price negotiations they were willing to come down in price enough to make us very comfortable with hiring them. Their response time was quick, they spent ample time with me on the phone explaining a second time how to program the controller (even though they left me a manual they walked me through the process the 2nd time over the phone), and their warranty was by far the best anyone offered in this area. read more

SolarTech installed our swimming pool heating system. It works great, often raising the temperature of the pool to over 80 degrees, even on cool days. We did find one problem early this year when a roof leak occurred related to a puncture related to the installation. Our roofer TWM roofing, identified and documented that it was related to the solar panel installation. To the credit of SolarTech, they provided highly competent repair of the ceiling in our dining room and reimbursed us for expenses incurred by us in the repair. This is the sign of an ethical and responsible company. Any one can make a mistake, but the worth of a company is demonstrated by accepting the responsibility and making things right. It's easy for a company to look good when everything goes well. It takes a high level of responsibility to make things right when a problem occurs. I was in a bind. I'm a realtor and had a home in escrow with solar heating for the pool. There were some issues with the system that were holding escrow up. The company that installed the system couldn't do the service for two weeks. That just doesn't work when moving trucks are packed! Overall a good decision. Have had the system for about 16 months and it's working as predicted, with production nearly equal to my consumption over the course of a year. SolarTech had the same equipment as the bigger companies, but for a better price, and they didn't push me to buy more than I needed or to pick one brand over another. A couple times the Enlighten system stopped updating its data to the internet, and SolarTech sent me an email notifying me to check or reset the network connection. Aside from that there been no maintenance needed. I would give them 5 stars, except that they seemed to be having some growing pains at that time. First, the salesman called me at 10:00 at night wanting the final payment before the inspection, when the contract explicitly stated that the final payment was due upon passing the city inspection. Hopefully that guy has either been retrained or as moved on. There was a minor installation issue as well, but the foreman sent his guys back to correct it, even though it had already passed inspection. read more

I chose SolarTech for my solar panel installation because I was impressed with the technology and could afford solar with the payment plans they offered. Ali Ibrahim explained all my options and worked with me to get a great price. The workers did a great job- seamless installation with no mess and the systems installed are top of the line. They were also able to get the panels up pretty quickly- everything up and working about 6 weeks after I first met with Ali compared to 2-3 months estimate with other places. In total, I wound up getting the solar panels, an electric panel upgrade, a new pool pump, and a pool heater at a great price. Would highly recommend. read more

Great company, because they hire great people. We had them install pool solar on our home in 2015. I remember when they did the initial install, the technician was so patient, informative and helpful, giving me his cell number and telling me I was free to call anytime if I had additional questions. Well, weeks later I had forgotten much of what he showed me so I called. I'm pretty sure it was after hours too, but he picked-up and took a ton of time re-explaining things over the phone, never making me feel like I was imposing on his time. Fast forward to 2019; we needed them to come out to do some regular maintenance. The technician Sean, again went above and beyond in spending a tremendous amount of time re-educating me on how to properly program the system and use all the features of my variable speed pump. I'm writing to do a follow up on our swimming pool solar heating panels that were installed by Solar Tech the week of July 24-26 2019 We originally worked with Erick Broderdorf who went over what we needed and gave us a quote that was fair and very competitive. Having had two of my friends use Solar Tech for their home heating Solar panels it made sense to work with them as my friends were very happy. Our project manager Damian Iniguez contacted us set up a schedule date and was on site the day of the installation and the preceding days to make sure the installation went as promised. The workers showed up on time and were mindful not to make a mess or damage any landscape they had to work around. I've had solar installed last April and have had nothing but problems with their quality of work and solar system: 1. Installation - After installation, unit was producing a lot less than it was supposed to. Contacted them and they said it was a cloudy day. After several emails they sent someone to take a look at the unit and they said everything is working perfectly. I continued to complain because it didn't make sense, the unit was producing so little. They sent a second guy and he found out they had installed one of the wires wrong, so half of the panels weren't working. Finally, got it running 3 weeks after installation. 2. I've had intermittent issues with their solar monitoring after installation. They sent someone to take a look at it and it worked better for a few weeks. But then I continued to have issues. Finally, I told them to run a wire to the unit versus run unit via WiFi. Finally, after multiple visits it started working properly most of the time. I still see strange spikes in the monitoring once in a while, but it's acceptable. 3. We had some rain in the the summer and suddenly the solar unit stopped producing and there was an error message on the inverter. They sent someone over who couldn't figure out what the problem was. After 3 days of no solar, they finally sent someone who figured out that they had not properly insulated one of the connections on the roof and water caused the unit to short and trip. Again, another example of poor installation. 4. Now, since the last 3-4 weeks the solar monitoring stopped working, so I receive no data. I contacted them and they said that SMA had a firmware update which my inverter didn't like. Gave me SMA's number to contact them directly. At this point, they have not solved the problem yet and I still have no monitoring. 5. UPDATE 12/3 - My solar system stopped producing electricity again since the last rain (over a week). They came down update the inverter firmware which failed. They said SMA is shipping out a new inverter and they will install it as soon as they get it. 6. UPDATE 12/23 - The new inverter arrived and they installed it promptly. In addition, they rewired the entire unit to avoid future issues. So far, so good after even several days of rain. Overall, I've been disappointed with their quality of work and the quality of the inverter. However, they seemed to have fixed the problems by replacing the inverter, the monitoring chip, and by rewiring the entire unit.The new crew that repaired the unit looked a lot more professional than the original one that installed the unit. They looked like they knew what they were doing. read more

Prior to getting my solar panel installation system I did research with three other top of the line solar panel companies. Ali Ibrahim was my consultant for Solar Tech and from the moment he introduced himself to my wife and I, he came off as a very genuine person. He provided more details than we could probably handle and kept in touch with us after his visit. Initially I informed Ali that his quote was a little high and one of the other companies had a better number with a very similar system. Ali followed up the next day with a deal I could not turn down since I really wanted Sunpower panels over the other competitors. From there on, everything went pretty much very smooth and Ali stayed in touch with me throughout the duration of the process. I've been running my panels for over a month now and got my first SDGE statement and already have a good amount of credits. All in all, Ali is a very honest, down to earth guy. I even recommended a client to Ali who will also get his solar system installed through Solar Tech. Overall my experience with Solar Tech was very wonderful and I'd like to commend Ali for being the biggest contributor. After a great deal of research, I opted to go with SolarTech. Why? 1. The positive Yelp reviews (which is why I am compelled to do the same...so that people like me have honest feedback to review). 2. SolarTech's highly competitive price (yes, they were the least expensive of all 3 companies that I met with. 3. It was a huge plus that they sell both electric solar panels and pool since we needed both. Since having the panels installed, I experienced a day where my energy production was abnormally low (you can track this via a website). I sent an email and the very next morning they had someone to check on my system. I loved that!! I should also mention that I didn't make it very easy for SolarTech. During the install, we were in the middle of a backyard remodel (building a pool) which altered their schedule a little and required them to make a few separate trips out here to hook up the equipment. Late review, but I had solar since October 2016 and I can say that I am totally satisfied with the work that SolarTech has provided. I haven't had once issue since the installation. The solar panels are set up beautifully on my roof and the conduit was nicely hidden unlike other houses where conduit lines are shown all over the house which I believe is unattractive. I was excited to save money on my electric bills and boy does it feel great. The process and installation was quick and professional. Everyone was easy to work with and extremely friendly. My sales guy, Eric Broderdorf, is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. No questions were too small for him. He responds quickly, day or night. From the time we signed our contract to the end of the installation, he remained active to ensure our satisfaction has been met. The cost was by far the cheapest and most affordable than any other solar company. The hardest part of the experience is the wait for solar to be installed because of permits before they could proceed. SolarTech submits all the permits for you so you basically do nothing but sit back and wait. They even monitor your solar panels to make sure they are fully functioning. How great is that?!! I know I am in good hands if anything happens. For those wondering if I should get solar....DON"T WAIT. Talk to Eric and he will be able to explain everything to you. I was a doubter, until I talked to him. With the rising cost of electricity, its the smart thing to do to keep costs down. I also got a tax credit from the IRS which makes this deal even sweeter!!! They never showed up at my house for the scheduled initial appointment. I had a number of companies scheduled that day to deliver quotes, and Solartech was the only one that didn't show up. When I emailed them about it later, they never responded. Disappointing service. **UPDATE** The company got in touch with me and apologized for the no show. We wanted to get solar panels for our house and didn't know where to start. We met with a few companies that gave us quotes but we just didn't like them or want to work with them.
