Sean our service tech came by this week on schedule and dialed in my system that was installed by SolarTech and it is working great! The pool heats up to 90 degrees so fast! The family and I really enjoy having the pool Solar as it was a wonderful long term investment and we use the pool much more often! read more

I waited a year after the installation was completed to post a review. This was necessary to allow time to observe system performance and to see the result of my first annual NET Metering bill. I had a surplus (credit) of about one month worth of electricity at the end of the one year billing cycle. Since I did not use my air conditioning as much this year, I was hoping that I would have a surplus. In following years I will probably end up cranking up the A/C more often. If this is the case, I will not be forking over money to SDG&E. Solar Tech gave me exactly what I needed to eliminate my electric bill. Before choosing an installation company, I sought out estimates from other companies for pricing. I also investigating the lease option for solar. To me, purchasing was the way to go. This system will pay for itself in about 8-12 years. The lease option is a 20 year contract that can be a headache if the house is sold and the new owner does not want to take over the lease. Also, the companies that lease have very bad reviews on yelp. Solar tech gave me the best price with more output to boot. I received an estimate and did not get one pesky phone call from them to pressure me into buying. The installation time after the contract was signed took about three months. The lengthy install time is due to the red tape of getting city permits and dealing with SDG&E. Every solar install has to go through that process regardless of what company does it. The 30% tax credit was a big plus at the end of the year. I recommend getting several estimates to see who has the best prices. Take the best of the yelp reviews into serious consideration. I am totally satisfied with the service provided by Solar Tech. read more

A joke. They didn't notify us when roofer would be done. Instead my son noticed someone creepily hanging out near the house so we called the office & found out work was starting. The experience with solar has been even worse. We failed inspection. Then on the 2nd inspection they were dubious with the inspector. We told them they had to make it right and follow code. If I hadn't been standing there during the inspection I would never have known they straight up lied to the inspector. Their equipment failed REPEATEDLY, would only run for one day then needed troubleshooting. After 3rd visit, which they claim 2 is unusual, we hope it works. And they had the audacity to ask for final payment. Let's make sure your equipment works in the morning first as your failure rate is pretty high! UPDATE - 8 days later Happy to report the equipment works daily. Finally. However, we bought extra panels & a battery, yet every single day we're still using grid energy. Still not sure these people know what they're doing. Our panels have yet to produce the amount of energy our contract stated, consistently under produce even with all the sunshine we've had. 2nd UPDATE - 8 days later It was explained to us the source of our issues, concerns, discrepant information is the battery. As such they will no longer offer this as an option and we were the guinea pigs in the equation. The panels are producing, well as a matter of fact, but there are conversion metrics that complicate things. They did provide a discount for the miscommunications and learning curve we all experienced. Final outcome - we are pleased with the panels. read more

We had some small leaks in our pool solar heating panels. I called Solar Tech and they sent out a rep to survey the issue. Our panels are 15 years old and I was expecting a response of, " you need all new panels!". Instead the rep said everything looked quite good with the exception of the few small leaks, of which they could easily repair. The following week a tech came out and did a great job, above and beyond expectations at a reasonable price. Thanks guys. read more

I highly recommend SolarTech. They got me the SunPower panels on a great deal and the install was seamless. From beginning to the end, they were very helpful and professional. They were understanding and flexible with my moving target date for my home getting built. Even when I considered not installing solar after all the paperwork had been completed, there was no pushback. They simply gave me reasonable options. I appreciated how courteous Ali was throughout. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Charlene came by to go over the system and make sure everything is running smoothly. As a first time solar customer, I was nervous about choosing any solar company - but I'm so glad I picked SolarTech! read more

2018 Update: we had Solartech install our electric solar and the whole process was so smooth and easy. They handled everything and sent me an email when it was all approved and ready to switch from "OFF" to "ON" and it was great. We are saving a ton, the panels look sharp, the service and coordination was excellent and I highly recommend them. read more

Solar pool heating installed and already working. The installers were great, and the whole process was a good experience. They even honored an old quote for the installation after we had to postpone until we had our roof replaced. Definitely recommend these guys. read more

I would like to thank SolarTech for a seamless installation and I'd especially like to thank Mark Albano (619-495-1587) for all his help along the way. He far and away exceeded our expectations! Mark didn't seem like a salesperson and that's always a good thing! It never seemed like a sales pitch and it felt more like a real discussion. Mark explained how the system would work, the pros and cons of various equipment, and he took the time to answer all of our questions. He didn't pressure us during our first meeting or the ensuing days before we ultimately decided on SolarTech. What really won us over even after reading all of the great Yelp reviews was Mark's honesty when discussing the pros and cons of optional equipment. After we signed the contract Mark didn't disappear as salespeople sometimes do. Whenever I had a question via phone, email, or text he always responded promptly every step of the way and he also checked in with us numerous times to make sure things were going well. I couldn't recommend a better guy to work with. Now we are enjoying clean energy and we're no longer paying an arm and a leg for our electricity bill! Thanks again Mark and the whole team at SolarTech!! read more

Ali of SolarTech not only gave us a great price on one of the best in market Sunpower solar panels, but also managed to get it installed in less than 3 weeks. He was able to accommodate us ahead of the SDGE March 2018 Time of use deadline. Ali and his team were very prompt and responsive in their communications and installation was done in a very professional manner. Would highly recommend Ali and SolarTech for your solar project. We are glad we did. read more

This was the best quote I received, the sales person, Ryan Bertel, was also very informative and helpful. The installation was quick, and the install team was also very courteous. I recommend getting multiple bids, but at the same time recommend SolarTech be in your options. read more

We'd been contemplating solar for years, until my Dad told me about his experience with Ali and SolarTech. They did an excellent job for him and he was very pleased with the price. So without hesitation and without getting other quotes, I called Ali, got his price and signed the contract. We couldn't be happier with the experience, cost or performance. Everything went just as planned. read more

I live in La Mesa, and we had a solar system put in by Solar Tech. I had a delicate roof here and I was really concerned about it before we did it. So I interviewed five different companies as to what they would do to put the system on the roof without damage to the roof. Also about the output of the system and how good it was going to be, how effective and in all categories, they did an excellent job and they were much easier to talk to than some companies that kind. I didn't quite trust what they're gonna do with my roof and other things. I have a tile roof. They put a vapor barrier underneath it, remove the tile, and put a vapor barrier, that hasn't leaked a drop after this rain we've had. And the output on the kilowatts is taking care of my knees. They hit it right on. We talked to Gino there. He was very informative about what was needed and it's been spot on. We've been in the negative here since June when it was installed. So I anticipate on the trip comes, it's pretty much a break, even so, we hit it right on with 18 panels and I do have a swimming pool. Spot on! Very happy with their work. Very professional, highly recommend them. Thank you, Solar Tech! read more

Eric and his team installed solar panels on our roof top about 18 months ago. We own it. I selected SunPower panels and ended up getting more efficient (a little more expensive one) panels than what I ordered with the same price due to shipment change from SunPower. I did not get solar panels to save money, but I decided to get it after watching "Before the flood". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Before_the_Flood_(film) My wife was not so happy for the length of time to recoup this investment, but I thought that at least something we can do for the environment since we are not planning to get an electric car in the near future. There is no issue at all so far and our system has been producing about 10% more than its specification. Everything is working fine. Of course, I got quotes from other solar companies, but they gave us very competitive price and also great response from the beginning to the end. I recommended to my neighbor and one of my friends and they also did their due diligence, and both of them ended up selecting Eric and his team. No complains at all. Please do your due diligence. There are a lot of information on the Web. Technology and environment around solar industry have been changing very fast and my friend got completely different system from what I selected. There are a lot of reading required and please talk to multiple experts as much as your time allows before making decision. It will be 10+ year investment, so you should be happy at the end like buying a new car. read more

Mark Albano came to our home in July and provide us with information about their solar products with no added pressure. After review other solar companies, I decided to go with Solar Tech. The system was installed in late August and was approved to operate by mid-September. It has been nearly three months since and I have no regrets. Great experience and customer service. read more

Our salesperson was Ali Ibrahim. He went above and beyond to explain everything in terms we could understand. To this day he is still helping us out and answering questions we have. They were the cheapest out of 4 other companies we had quotes for, with less panels needed. We had our solar installed on Dec 24,2020. What company works on Christmas Eve, this one does and speaks volume about the company and customer service. The system we got one company warranties everything, unlike others that each part has a different company you would have to contact. read more

Without hesitation I'd like to say thank you again to this team of professionals and there leadership to continue making their clients happy. It's been about a month since my install, and Ali continues to check in on my family to make sure everything is running smoothly. I had my solar installed 3 months ago and it has been such a great process. I chose to go with Sunpower panels based on Steve Brunton's recommendation and I am glad that I did. My panels produce way more than my neighbors. The Foreman on site Alex, was great at keeping me updated and explaining to me how the system works. Grant and Shauna in project management helped get all my paperwork processed and were great to work with. I just can't express enough how great it was working with Solartech. I found them on Yelp so felt obligated to tell the yelping community about my experience! Highly recommended!! read more

Ali from Solartech was awesome. After getting 4-5 different quotes from very reputable companies, Ali was by far the most professional and responsive out of all. I would get answers from other companies like, we can't get solar installed in HOA's or you will never get it ok'd by the HOA, I even heard with your type of credit you can't get financed. Well Ali met all those challenges and more. He gave me a great price that beat the competition. Then together we worked on getting detailed plans to present to the HOA, with some additional research we were able to get it approved the first time around. There was some miscommunication during the installation dates, so they can definitely work on that, but it was not that big of a deal since my wife was at home most of the time. Once we got HOA approval, the installation was fairly quick and the solar panels were installed in no time. 1 month after install, everything seems fine and panels are producing well. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Trust me, you will save yourself a lot of headaches by calling Ali first. He is honest and he will make every effort he can to make sure the customer is satisfied. read more

Great overall experience. I needed an inspection and service call for my older system. Solartech hadn't done the original installation and the company that did wasn't around anymore. The office said their service tech was really busy but would get back with me. The owner, Jason, called back a couple hours later saying he was in the area doing a quote and would be happy to stop by that same day. He gave me a quote for repairs as well as for a new system. But instead of trying to upsell me, gave me the realistic savings & value of my repairs vs what I would get from a whole new setup. Elected to make repairs and add on some new panels; best bang for the buck. Highly recommend. read more

SolarTech goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied. Their office is prompt with response and very informative as to project details. My parents purchased a home with solar panels installed. I called SolarTech to ask if they did solar inspections and was told yes. I figured with all of these 5 star reviews, this company must be awesome, so I spoke with Rachel and let her know we needed an inspection and were on a bit of a time crunch. She mentioned Grant does the inspections and would call me to schedule. Grant left me a message. I called him and had to leave him a message about scheduling and..........never heard back. Perhaps an inspection was not worth their time, who knows, but I definitely would not recommend. read more

I had a wonderful experience with SolarTech. They installed a new 9KW solar array on the west side of my roof and I couldn't be happier. Our sales rep was Ryan, the project manager was Grant, and the inspector was Charlene; They were all pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. I was in contact with Ryan throughout the whole process as a main point of contact, and everything went very smoothly. I changed the plans after permit approval (added a panel, and moved them around), and expected some push-back, but didn't receive any. Installation was nearly a month earlier than expected, and the installation was very-clean. We had the conduit run through the attic, down through the interior wall of our garage, and then out to the new electrical box outside the house. The box can be serviced from outside, and there isn't any visible conduit on the roof, or eaves. It couldn't have been a cleaner installation. -Shaun read more

I got my solar installed 18 months ago. The last 2 months my electric bill increase and ask SolarTech- Grant to see if the panels are working properly. He says they were working fine and says that I am using more electricity. SDG&E says I am using the same as a year ago. I got someone to evaluate the panels and found out that were 2 panels that were cracked. Called Grant and now he says that 2 panels were not producing as much. He also stated that the cracks were damaged from a ball or a rock and that SolarTech will not cover for it. Totally untrue. He give me a quote for replacement of $600 at manufacture price but came back a week later of a written cost of $1500. He says he made a mistake. Don't trust them. 11/8/17 - UPDATE - The owner contacted me after reading this review and was extremely professional and courteous in offering a solution to my dissatisfaction. Panels will be replaced at no additional cost to me and he reviewed my electric records to offer insights to my energy production. I changed the star rating from 2 to 4 read more

We recently finished our 3.35kW solar install with Solar Tech, and we are extremely pleased with the process and finished result. After dozens of quotes from local installers, I found Solar Tech offers the best value of any residential solar company. We were able to get a SunPower X21 Equinox AC system (with a 25yr warranty and one of the most efficient system options) at a price comparable to other mid-range systems. We also decided to upgrade our main service meter panel, which turned out great and gives us the capacity to add additional solar in the future if needed. Our energy consultant Drew was very professional and made sure that our install went smoothly every step of the way. The installers were efficient and courteous. This company values their customers regardless of how large or small the installation size is, and does a high quality job on the installation. I'd happily recommend Solar Tech for residential solar installations. read more

We've had solar installed in our house and I really like it. We had it installed in June and I really like looking at our electric meter, seeing the arrow pointing in the opposite direction, which it does all the time. Big savings of our $300 to $500 electric bills. And , now we're really paying for gas like 20 bucks even less than that for our electricity. We're five person house and electricity is running all the time. So I knew this was a great thing to have done. The people that we worked with were great. They were professional when they were here, when they said they were going to be here. I haven't had any issues or problems with the system. I still use the end phase app as well so that I can look and see how much is done each day, each week, each month throughout the year. It's very considerable savings, so I'm really happy and I definitely have recommended them to my neighbors and the people at work. read more

Highly recommend. Recently we had leakage from our roof mount pool solar heating panels. Our pool installers recommended SolarTech. We spoke with Karstina who let us know that their repair appointments were booked about two weeks out, so we went ahead and requested their first available appointment. We were delighted when we received a call from Karstina later that day that they had just had a cancelation and a technician would be coming the next day. Arturo, the technician was great, polite, efficient, and explained the repair process. Five stars to SolarTech for outstanding customer service from Karstina and Arturo and a very positive home repair experience. read more

We had been toying around with the idea of getting solar for some time and had already spoke with several other solar companies before we spoke with Gino at SolarTech. He scheduled a zoom call for us and answered all of our questions, was forthcoming in what we needed vs. what the other solar companies were trying to oversell us, & wasn't pushy during the timeframe where we were taking everything into consideration. Once we finally decided to move forward it went very smoothly with on-site inspections, installation crew was quick & friendly, the city inspector came shortly after and we were clear to turn our system on and get started saving money. My house was already pre-plummed for solar so I appreciated the installation crew using what was already there for a seamless install. I've seen other companies have wires and tubes along the side of the home and I'm so happy to have an experienced company that knows what they're doing. It speaks volumes as to the employees SolarTech hires. I received a follow-up call a few days ago to ensure everything went as planned and to see if there was anything else that my family needed. Our HOA needed one last document and their customer service rep Kristina sent it right over via email. I like to save money, but I also like to do business with a company of people who truly love their job! read more

We highly recommend Solar Tech for your solar needs. They came to the rescue when the original solar company we contracted to work with closed its doors and left us stranded with panels on our roof that were not connected and no service upgrade to support the system. Paul, the Solar Tech Service Manager, worked with me throughout the entire project. He made sure I understood what each step entailed and sent qualified technicians to upgrade our electric panel and connect the solar system. He was patient and supportive with every phone call and email. He needed to update the permit and work with both the city and SDG&E to complete the installation. There were a few hiccups along the way as Solar Tech was picking up a project that was already started. Everyone from the receptionist to the technicians to the Project Coordinator was helpful and knowledgeable. The whole team had a "Can do!" attitude. Thank you Solar tech for a job well done. It was time for us to install solar panels and I requested several estimates. Although SolarTech was right in the middle with their price, the recommendations I received were excellent and the panels that they installed are among the best in the market. Everything was done in a timely manner and Pete Baker, who sold us the system as well as the technical staff informed us of the next steps all along and the information was useful and accurate. Affordable & Quick! We have had our new solar pool heating panels for over 2 weeks now and it has made a world of difference in how much we use our pool! A few weeks prior, I submitted a request for a free estimate with Solar Tech. David Baca immediately reached out to us through email and a phone call. He was able to access pictures of our roof and pool and recommended the number of panels based upon our pool size. Not only was David able to give us top quality panels that come with a 12-year, no-cost labor guarantee, but he gave us a very reasonable price that we could afford. Because of the pandemic, we met over Zoom and had all of our questions answered. The crew showed up and were professional and respectful (i.e. masks and distancing). They worked in an expedient manner and before we knew it, we were enjoying the pool, heated for free by the sun! I also would like to mention that at no time did David try to pressure or "strong-arm" us into getting the panels. That, in and of itself, meant so much to me. He was very accommodating and got us on the schedule quickly. I would rate our experience a 10 out of 10 for Solar Tech. Thanks so much! read more

We just completed solar panels installation last month. When the city inspector came, he listed three correction items including switching two breakers in my breaker box to meet safety requirements. But after solar mechanics did that, I smelled burnt scent in garage and after they left, I found that the light bulbs and ceiling fan in family room were burned out. I called solar company and they send the other guys came. They told me they didn't do anything wrong and asked me to find electrician to fix the problem by myself. I did and spent $3700!!!! That's not the worst thing. Next day, I just realized my heater and A/C, electric recycling chair and door bell were also burned out. My husband sent them a quote about all we extra cost but they only want to pay AC and ceiling fan part (not included labor fee). We got to pay more over $5500 to fix the problem they made and they only think they just need to pay $420 in it. We felt so unacceptable and asked them to take more responsibility last Wednesday. No any response even a word until now!!! We signed contract on Sep 2020, almost five months later, five solar panels can't work appropriately and burned a lot of electric. Very disappointing service. read more
