Got Watts installed two phases of solar panels on my roof, 67 panels in total. The job was massive,…read morethe price was fair, and the follow up service was excellent. There were hardware glitches after installation, but the Got Watts team reliably spotted them - without me realizing there was even an issue - and sent teams out to ensure my equipment worked as promised. Years later I noticed some leaks through my roof where some phase 2 panels were installed. I notified Got Watts and they sent large crews to my home to rectify the issue over several days. This was no small fix. They probably spent vastly more to rectify the leaks than they did to install the panels to begin with. No one likes to have problems with an install. But, it means a lot for a contractor to honor their commitment and spend vast sums to honor their warranty, and their word, to their customer. I've had "good companies" make promises they wouldn't honor once the initial check cleared. Got Watts was true to their word and treated me in a dignified manner that is rare these days. David the technician ended up coming out and found a really serious issue that could have been disastrous had it not been fixed. The communication and quality of the service overall are what really stood out. Between Marlene keeping me informed about the schedule and following up the day after to make sure things were operational to David's work to fix the issue and his communication afterwards and Jeff staying in touch the whole time, it was a great experience. I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

In September 2025, my husband and I signed a contract with Enact and Bright Energy to install a…read moresolar system in our home. Permitting was completed by early November. Bright Energy was to install the components of the system and Enact was to provide the software and monitoring. Enact handled all billing. By December 13, after one installation date fell through, we paid Enact in full based on the request of Joseph Nelson, CEO of Bright Energy Group, who told us they could not install our system by the end of the year without full payment. He also guaranteed installation by end of year (end of tax credit coverage) or we would get our money refunded, "no questions asked." Five months after we signed our contract our solar system is still not installed. Several installation dates have been canceled, one with no notice, leaving us to wait for installers who did not show up.There is currently no installation scheduled. We seem to be caught in a payment dispute between Enact and Bright Energy, though it is difficult to know who is telling the truth. In general, the process has been fraught with errors, a lack of communication, and agreements not kept by both Enact and Bright Energy. We have lost out on a substantial tax credit. We dipped into savings to pay for the system. We have asked for a refund and to date have gotten no response. Don't work with this company or Enact (who chose this company!).

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. And, they were also really thoughtful when we mentioned we had added in some upgrades that would affect electricity use (ie saunas and outdoor electric heaters), and they reassessed their initial project and updated it to accommodate that. Green Air actually took over Certified Heating's clientele (I was with Certified for 2 years) and they were wonderful. After they took over, they already cut down our maintenance visits from 2x a year to 1x a year. I wasn't too happy about it but the techs that came were nice and cordial. However, I'm not really sure what's going on. Maybe new management. I had my last maintenance service done in 6/2025. I moved in Dec 2025 and transferred my service to the new address. I scheduled a maintenance service for end of this month and just last Thursday, I got an update email that they were downgrading and removing all HVAC tune ups, air filter changes and solar cleaning. Basically all the benefits that I chose to pay the membership. What really angers and frustrates me is how no one is picking up their phones and it goes straight to vmail. When I did finally get an email reply, they stated that they would only apply my 5 month payments to the maintenance fees, so they basically didn't count the previous months I paid at my old home. I feel like that is pretty unfair, that I paid a full year to have no maintenance included and I would have to pay more money on top to match whatever fee they say maintenance services are currently. They didn't offer a refund or that my service I already scheduled back in May would be taken care of. Now I just want to cancel and take it as a loss since I can't get a clear answer. I will have to find a new company that hopefully cares about their customers.

Their billing system is a disaster and their communication is nonexistent. The breaking point was a call I received today. They told me they updated their billing system and needed to collect payment again. When I pointed out that I've been paying for over a year without a single person showing up to do the work, and that they have zero records of calling me to schedule.. they flat out refused to admit it. I asked to speak to an owner or a manager to resolve the refund for the service I never got. Instead, a man got on the phone, spent the whole time talking over me, and then actually HUNG UP up on me. Now, every time I call back to finish the conversation, it goes straight to voicemail. It is honestly ridiculous that a customer has to chase a company down to get them to do the job they are already being paid for. To be treated with such disrespect after four years is a slap in the face. Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually values its customers and answers the phone.

We first called Attic Kings about 4 years ago after heavy rains led to rats getting into our attic…read more They caused a huge mess, and I was especially concerned about the urine, droppings, old insulation, and fiberglass getting into the rest of the house. Moshe came out right away, inspected everything, and gave us a very reasonable quote to seal all of the entry points, clean and sanitize the attic, deodorize the space, remove all of the old insulation, and eventually replace it with new insulation. One of the biggest concerns for me was cleanliness. We had just installed brand new carpet upstairs, and the attic entrance is right there. Moshe covered everything in plastic and actually created a contained tunnel from the attic all the way downstairs and out the door so the old insulation and debris never traveled through the house. That made me feel much more comfortable about having the work done. Moshe and his team were fast, clean, and efficient, but what I appreciated most was how thorough Moshe was. He took the time to explain everything, sent us detailed photos, and never made us feel rushed. Because we have two attic spaces that connect along the roofline, Moshe did not just seal everything and immediately put down new insulation. He left traps in place and came back for several weeks to make sure there were no rats still hiding somewhere or finding another way in. Only after we were all comfortable that the problem was completely resolved did he install the new insulation. I really appreciated that because the last thing I wanted was to spend money on new insulation and have it ruined again. 4 years later, we still have the trap up there and have not had another rat problem. Recently, we had a completely separate issue with yellow jackets that made an opening near the roofline and got inside the roof area. After pest control handled the yellow jackets, I called Moshe just to ask whether the opening needed some kind of special repair. He came out the very next morning, walked the perimeter of both rooflines, found a few small areas that had shifted or opened over the years, sealed the area where the yellow jackets got in, and even went back into the attic to make sure everything was still secure and there was no evidence of rats. There wasn't. What really impressed me is that this was years after the original work, and he still came out as a courtesy to check everything. That says a lot about the kind of person he is and how he runs his business. Another thing I really appreciate is that when you call Attic Kings, you actually get Moshe. You are not dealing with an automated system, a call center, or a different person every time. He is very hands-on, and the people he brings with him have always been professional, respectful and clean. We even scheduled the original work while we were away from the house, and I felt completely comfortable trusting Moshe and his team in our home. His pricing was competitive, the value was excellent, and most importantly, the work has held up for 4 years. It is getting harder to find small businesses where the owner still answers the phone, shows up personally, stands behind the work, and cares about maintaining a relationship with customers long after the job is finished. Moshe is honest, dependable, and has a lot of integrity, and that goes a long way with me. I would absolutely recommend Attic Kings.

A few days after we met and I signed the contract, the team came out to remove old roof debris left over from a recent reroofing, removed our home's original insulation, and installed fresh batt insulation in both the attic and crawlspace. They also added rodent proofing throughout the attic while they were at it. About a month later we heard critter noises, so I texted them and they came out to inspect. He didn't find anything in the traps but reset them to be safe. Sure enough, something took the bait because we heard it go off! Jose came back shortly after and discovered 2 mice (thankfully no rats), found a gap where the roof met the garage and sealed it up. He ran an ozone generator as a precaution for any smells. A couple weeks after that we heard faint sounds again. Jose returned, found one more entry point, sealed it, and since then there's been total silence! I really appreciated how thorough and persistent they were even after the job was technically done. Solid team, fair price, and they stand behind their work. Highly recommend Attic Kings!

Solar Optimum and their entire team was as close to perfect as a company can get. The entire process was so unbelievably easy - they took care of everything! Permits, applications, rebates, financing, installation, using the best #1 solar panels/inverters/batteries in the industry right now and with an unbeatable warranty (I had two other estimates done before going with this company - Solar Optimum just couldn't be beat on price, service and warranty). Best of all, they were ALL so genuinely nice, professional, PATIENT, responsive, helpful and attentive to our specific needs (admittedly, I am a tough client). One of our neighbors went with a highly rated national company and had endless complaints - couldn't get the service and help he needed, ever. After having our home installed with solars panels, our electric bill went way down. Though living in the material world things do happen: two solar panels needed adjustment. So Solar Optimum sent two techs, Clif and James, who promptly adjusted the panels; but what was outstanding was Clif and James' professionalism, which included patience beyond that of the Biblical Job; for a car in the driveway first needed to be moved and the car's owner was most reluctant to come out and move the car. I was amazed that Clif and James did not pack up and leave eave for another call. Their attitudes all the while remained calm and pleasant. Started talking to solar contractors in Feb 23 since we wanted to get into NEM 2.0. We talked to four companies and decided to go with Solar Optimum since they offered the Panasonic panels and Enphase inverters we were looking for at a fair price. Every contractor we talked to was swamped due to the rush to get into NEM 2.0, but Solar Optimum came through and we got into NEM 2.0 and the system was installed in May. The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

Danielle in the office was a joy and our project manager Jason was there for us all along the way. The install crew was phenomenal and completed the entire project in two days. We absolutely love having battery backup especially from 4 to 9 PM when PG&E charges the highest peak rate in the Continental U.S. California has the second-highest electricity rates in the U.S., (only behind Hawaii) which makes receiving power from the sun especially rewarding. If you are considering solar power, we highly recommend giving Northstar Solar an opportunity.

It's a nerve wracking process but Ryan gave me reassurance things would go well. Upon Ryan's recommendation, we also decided to replace the solar panel racking system installed by Sunrun because we were plagued with roof leaks due to improper sealing of their footings. Ryan and the Northstar team were absolute champs at removing and reinstalling the new system for us. Everyone we dealt with was so professional, kind and easy going. The work was beautifully done and based on all the photos and detail provided by Ryan I am confident we will be safe from leaks going forward. He also had to coordinate the reinstall with our roofer and everyone handled it so well. I 100% recommend Northstar and the team for this task, and also wouldn't hesitate to hire them for roofing based on their strong work ethic and product with our solar project. The price was fair and in line with other quotes I'd received. A couple of questions unrelated to this particular job have come up and Ryan has gone above and beyond to help me out by providing his professional input. So happy with these guys. Thank you!

He found many savings and benefit enhancements along the way. In spite of the solar credit expiring at the end of 2025, David put together an HDM plan far superior to anything I found when getting competing quotes. It simply lowered the cost without complicating ownership or savings or adding any ongoing cost. Speaking of competing quotes, they beat everyone else. All together, I saved about $20,000 without undue complication. Production Manager Jack kept me fully informed along the way. He always responded promptly and clearly to every query. He scheduled and completed the solar installation much earlier than promised. The installers also travelled a long distance outside of their service area to do the job in the Sierra foothills. So, even if you think your home is outside of their service area as shown on Yelp, you might give them a call and see if they can do it. Installer Gio and his team were excellent. Our panels were going on a tile roof and I had concerns about the L brackets pulling up the tiles as they slide under the downhill side of tiles. They ground channels into each of the affected tiles for these brackets so that the roof is still as water tight as a duck's a**. Gio, the electrician and main contact on site was both smart, friendly and patient in explaining the details while the solar panels, Tesla PowerWall batteries and solar inverter were installed. I'm now using Tesla's app to monitor the whole system, which is working perfectly and is fascinating. I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Simply Solar!

We originally chose them a few years ago because they offered free solar panel removal and reinstallation when we eventually needed a roof replacement. The initial install went fine, but trying to get them to honor their contract now has been a nightmare. Bait and Switch: They are suddenly demanding a $3,600 fee for the removal. Even their salesperson admitted this fee was not indicated in our main agreement from 2021, but is now picking apart vague fine print (outside of our contract) to justify it. We have sent the contract over multiple times and asked them to highlight the language where it specifies this charge. Unethical leadership: Leadership is aware of this $3,600 gap, but they don't want to back down. Terrible Customer Service: They are dragging their feet and refusing to coordinate with our roofer, who has been consistently asking for dates to remove the solar. Ignored Emergencies: We explicitly told them we have an active roof leak and asked them to prioritize the removal so we could fix our home. They did not care. Once they finish your initial install, they will abandon you and refuse to give you the time of day. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. If you are looking for solar, be very wary and look elsewhere.

I am so grateful for the outstanding service I received each time. The quality of their system is excellent, pricing is good and working with them was a pleasure. Bravo!
