I just moved to the area and a friend from work recommended Solar Nails to me months ago, but I finally had the chance to go last Wednesday before I left on vacation to Cabo. I got the a manicure and pedicure. I got the basic/regular pedi. The artist was amazing and so sweet. For my manicure I chose a dark pink cat eye gel. One of my nails on my right hand was a lot shorter than the others and she made it longer with an acrylic nail - this was my first time getting acrylics. Even though it was just one nail, I can tell that the artist did an amazing job. All of my nails looked incredible and they have excellent selection of colors. The place is smaller than nail salons I've been to, but the service is phenomenal. I will definitely go back to Solar Nails. The inside is not as fancy as some of the bigger nail salons around town, but it's still charming and very comfortable. I highly recommend! read more

I had a 30 minute pedicure. When I went to pay, they charged me $15 more than what was posted on the pedicure menu. They were extremely rude and nasty to me when I asked about the extra charge at the end. I ended up paying $60 for what would be an express pedicure anywhere else in the city. I have been looking for a new nail salon for awhile now. Having passed Solar Nails many times I figured I'd give them a try. Walked right in and was waited on by one of the two women working. They advertise a maniped for $35 so I opted for that. Another woman came in five minutes later and asked for the same and the second woman took her on. My mani consisted of a cold water soak...yes, cold! There was to be no relaxing with the cold water and constant repositioning of my hand by the woman. It took an act of God to get her to tri two nails down to match the other shorter nails, but we got there, along with the oddest shaped nails EVER! My nails were cut blunt. I went in with rounded tips and left with blunt tips...not even square...we are talking pointy and sharp edges! Time for the pedi, so we move to the pedi area and the other woman also joins us at the same time. The pedi options were to upgrade with a choice of matching scrub and butter with a foot massage. Ok no worries, I like. A good foot massage, so I opt for the white chocolate rose scrub and the woman can't figure out citrus from mango or chocolate. I finally just tell her to use whatever she has in her hand and the pedi begins...with warmer water this time! The foot massage was pretty good, but rather short. Considering the other woman didn't upgrade her pedi I'm not sure what I paid for as we seemed to have the same service...yet I paid $20 more! I noticed they emptied the finger soaking bowls and returned them to a stack...not washed, just emptied. I also saw the other woman take her tools when she was done and rinse them with water and place them on a towel. Again, no cleanser and no disinfectant. ICK! After I left, upon closer inspection I noticed entire strips of nail had polish missing and my nails have left some scratch marks on my body before I finally redid them myself. While the owner was pleasant and the other technician tried to hold a conversation, it just wasn't enough to sway my mind on the whole experience. Save yourself some money and the risk of having dirty tools used on you...go elsewhere and don't get a lower quality service for a premium price. My search continues for a new nail salon. read more

My 13 year old daughter has a babysitting job and makes her own money. She and her friend went here to get acrylic nails. The board said $30 and they harvest them $35 each. I called up there to ask why they charged a different price then what was listed on their board. They said the girls had build up and a lot of cuticle to remove. I told my daughter they should have told her the upcharge at the time and essentially they stole her money. read more

I will NEVER return to this salon again! I made a mani pedi appointment a week in advance for an important event . When I walked in for my appointment, one lady said my selected tech wasn't in that day. I asked if another nail tech could take me. No. I would have to wait a hour. I asked them why they didn't call me to let me know my tech would not be there at my appointed time. Their response? "So sorry". I happened to drive by and saw a Solar Nail Salon so I decided to come in for a pedicure. So the lady gave me a price chart for the pedicure, so I decided to choose the $35 pedicure. But once I was done with the pedicure and walked out from the salon, I notice their banner saying pedicures for $25. So I decided to call and complain about the lady, who barely spoke English, because I felt like she was being dishonest about the actually price of the pedicure I had at the nail salon. read more

Love this salon! Very clean! Sterile, top quality instruments as well. Nice people and they do fantastic work. I have been going to this salon over 5 years. They are always willing to work me in to fix a nail or wax the brows if I'm in a pinch and it isn't my regular day. Always the newest OPI colors as well as other brands. I just moved into town and this little spa is very close to my house. I was in need for a gel polish change. I walked in and was asked if I could wait about 15 min, which I'm totally ok with as a walk in. 45 min later they got to me. I decided to get a full manicure instead of just a polish change. The technician was sweet and gentle. It took way longer than I was expecting. For me, a manicure typically lasted 30 min, with gel, this one took 60. The end result wasn't fabulous either. The tips of my nails felt rough and the color was splotchy at best around my beds. The place was nice, but I think I'll find somewhere else for my nails. read more
