Gel mani with OPI 5 French tip.

Mimi does such a great job every single time. I trust her with what she does and never disappoints! 5/5

    Cuticle carnage

Worst manicure ever! I'm six months pregnant and the manicurist was torturing me cutting my cuticles way too short and buffing them aggressively with dirty used files. By the last nail she cut off the entire cuticle bed and I was actively bleeding. She administered something to stop the bleeding then slathered me in scented lotion. I said we are done here and when I went to pay was charged full price for the carnage she had administered. I sincerely hope that I don't get an infection but it seems that will be inevitable because of their unsafe and unsanitary practices. When asked why I was being charged full price, I was told that the price is the same with or without polish. I told her I was not happy with the service and that I was afraid of getting an infection and she told me bleeding was standard.

Loveeeee the vibe... she did exactly what I showed her in the reference pic This was my first time here but I found everyone experienced and talented.

My go to place. Ladies here are very skilled and friendly. Location is clean and prices are affordable.

Black gel over builder gel fill

Now I don't have to go to Livermore to get my builder gel fix. Called them today, last minute because my nail tech had an emergency. Asked for 12:30 and when I showed up, was seated right away. The salon is clean and the techs did my nails exactly the way I wanted them: short pointy almond with black gel over the builder gel. Mimi, very meticulous and super sweet. Already have my next appointment in 3 weeks. Yes, parking can be a little hard to find, leave with enough time and you can find put Solano Avenue parking in the residential area.

Great as always!! Will always be my go-to nail salon. Such good quality work and the nail technicians are always super welcoming and kind!

This place is ok! I was visiting my boyfriends family in Albany and really needed a place to get my nails done before a wedding. I called and was immediately offered a time slot for a gel mani and pedi. I walked in and there was only one other customer in there so they do mandate social distancing and wearing masks so that's good because it felt really clean inside. One cool thing about this place is that they don't do acrylics! They are really eco friendly so I thought that was unique. As for how my nails turned out...I really didn't like it. My nails were not evenly shaped so some were much longer than others and the nail polish coating was very sloppy...there were bumps all over the nails and it just wasn't clean. Plus while filing my nails the tech really hurt me and I started bleeding. If I am going to spend about 80 dollars I would want a good job done...but for service wise they are 5/5.

    Shellac Hollywood

I came here on a whim looking for a new nail salon;and when Groupon had a Shellac mani and pedi deal, I said sure why not? The pedicure was mediocre; however I did like the hot stones, but my manicurist seemed to randomly rub them on my skin with zero enthusiasm. Then came the Shellac manicure. Huge disappointment. I've gotten many Shellac manicures before, and this one had to the the worst. The whole process was completely unprofessional, starting from the removal of my old polish to the application. I brought my own CND Shellac nail polish remover wraps, and the woman had no idea how to use them. I explained to her how to wrap them, and that the wraps were made by the same company that made Shellac. She completely ignored my request; saying her method was more efficient and proceeded to soak my hands in hot acetone. The whole process smelled horrible and the bowl of hot water was not safely balanced on the armrest of the spa chair. In the end, I was left with dry fingers and burns. The application was process was even worse. I felt rushed the entire time. The heavyset woman doing my nails painted them as if she was using regular nail polish. She did not seal the tips, which prevents the polish from peeling. Also, unlike most salon that has timed UV lamps, she just left the UV lamps on and had me stick in one hand while she did the other and then switched again. My nails were maybe under the lamp for one minute. To top it all off, she DID NOT give me a massage! I loved watching the client next to me enjoy her massage while I was just rushed through my manicure. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Alas, The woman doing my nails was clearly a novice, I recommend that she goes over this website made by CND on how to apply Shellac, and to get her act together! www.cnd.com/Tools-Support/PDF/Step-by.../4974_ShellacSBSUpdate.pdf Sadly, this was not the new salon I was hoping to become a regular at, and I will not be returning.

    Zoya non-toxic nail polish!
    Ha V. N.

Solano Nail and Spa got my attention when I walked in with a sign informing that they start using non-toxic under the new management! I decided to give it a try with Zoya nail polish for my pedicure and after 3 weeks, I feel happy and so satisfied how it came out! Very nice color and long-lasting! Another highlight is the impeccable service! I walked in and was greeted with a big smile, attentive and professional staff. My mom and I had a great and relaxing time doing mani-pedi sets. We will definitely come back again!

This is the most atrocious gel polish I've ever had from a nail salon!

Avoid this place, do not spend your time and money here! I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. The woman that did my pedicure was ok. But, the woman who did my manicure was the worst! The manicure itself was awful, it took over half an hour, not including filing, polish, and massage. The gel polish application was horrible, it look like she did everything with her non-dominant hand. It was so bad, I had to go to another nail salon an hour later to have another manicure.

    $32 Hot Stone Pedicure

Fantastic salon. Appointment recommended - they usually have 2-3 techs working and I always watch them have to turn down walk ins. This is the most thorough nail salon I have ever been to. I almost felt guilty that the pedicure was only $32. At no time did I feel like the service was being rushed or sloppy. The techs are friendly and will chat if you want to chat, otherwise allow you to relax and enjoy. This is my second visit - the first was for two mani pedis. I brought my mom along and we each had a different tech but same results - thorough and well done pedicures and manicures that lasted longer than any mani pedi we've ever had before. I brought my partner back today for pedicures and was so impressed it wasn't a one off - another thorough and well done pedicure. The hot stone pedicure is their "base" pedicure, and so worth the extra $12 as compared to the regular pedicure you can get for $20 up the street. The techs take their time to really give your lower extremities a nice massage and the hot stones are so relaxing. Normal exfoliation and moisturizer afterwards. They did not ever put me under UV lights to dry and instead allowed the nails to dry naturally which I found interesting, but I did also notice they really plug being a healthier nail salon and carry Zoya brand polishes, which are less detrimental to your health than regular polishes. Overall RECOMMEND - do yourself a favor and make an appointment to treat yo self! Almost forgot to add - my manicure and my mom's lasted for almost a full week without major chipping or bubbling. Impressive!

do not even get me started on the shape

Sitting writing this review from my seat in the salon since my nail tech has literally abandoned me to go do another woman's pedicure. It takes a lot for me to go on Yelp and write a review, so believe me when I say stay away. I came in for a basic dip powder removal and dip powder manicure. An hour and twenty minutes in, I asked how much longer they thought it would take. My nail tech told me it would be forty minutes. TWO HOURS to take off dip powder and then put on a simple pink color. I explained that I didn't think it would take two hours and really needed to go soon. My nail tech did not listen and kept on performing at the pace of molasses. I finally had to ask them to stop filing my nails because it was taking so long. It's now two hours and ten minutes later and I am waiting for the top coat to dry, but not after my nail tech began to file down AN EXPOSED NAIL BED OF MINE that she thought was ????? just skin ????? No thanks. Never again. They took $3 off the charge as a courtesy. Thankssss.

Her work is consistently amazing. I love fun, creative nails and usually come in with inspiration photos. Every single time, Trinh delivers!! My nails always turn out better than I imagined. Sanitation is a big deal to me. I had a hard time finding a salon in my last neighborhood that followed proper sanitary procedures, and this place was such a relief. They clearly take sanitation seriously, and I always feel comfortable coming here. I have also had great pedicure experiences, and the barber and hair side of the salon is impressive to watch. Fast, precise, and everyone leaves looking great. Writing this review feels risky because I want to keep my appointments, but this salon deserves the love!! That said, expect to be "squeezed in," cause I had to wait about 30-40 mins after arriving to actually be seen. But, still appreciated them taking me. I came in for a gel manicure on my natural nails, but 1 finger was chipped. I asked if they could do a single extension, they recommended to use builder gel instead. At first, it looked fine, but after it cured, it was noticeably thick and not shaped very well. As a result this one fell off after a week. I also tried to point out that the shaping on my nails looked inconsistent from one finger to the next. The technician told me it was just because my finger widths are different & it's impossible to make them look the same. I understand that natural nails are harder to make uniform (compared to extensions), but I was disappointed with the lack of effort. The gel manicure itself was okay. I got a pink color with chrome powder, it lasted about two weeks. Overall, for around $50, I feel like you get what you pay for. It wasn't a terrible experience, but the attention to detail, especially with the shaping and the builder gel, was lacking. The service was friendly though, and you get a stamp card for every visit.
