I had a sick iPad a couple of years ago; later an older Dell laptop was giving me headaches, and most recently my NEW HP laptop was acting up. I treat it like a baby and don't use it that much but it was responding with the black screen of death. I rang Clever Tech and spoke with Eduardo. Based on the serial number he was able to tell if my warranty was still valid. He took time out to assist as well as was possible over the phone. I ended up visiting their shop in San Jose (Brokaw area) on Murphy Ave the next day. He checked it over and quickly determined that it was something simple having to do with not having completed some updates. it's a mystery to me how he knew all this, but he is the expert after all. It turned out to be a quick fix. Obviously that may not always be in the cards but it was this time. Eduardo and Jesus (and others in their crew) are always polite, personable and super smart. Their rates are fair and I will always go to them for repairs. By the way, Eduardo mentioned that he and his team opened another shop, this one in downtown Saratoga on Big Basin Way. It has a different name... It's called YeaMac. I don't hope for more problems with my laptop, iPhone etc. but if a problem arises I know exactly where to go to get resolution.

I was told the replacement of board and all other parts was sourced from the OEM manufacturer, and took roughly 2 weeks to ship and repair. There was a hiccup in my unit and diagnosis and I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for another shipment and repair. When plugging the radio into my car at home, my issues reoccurred, they took my radio right back in as well as my car, no questions asked, and solved the problem within a few hours. Again, no questions asked. Honored their warranty and everything. Some things I did want to mention, to replace two boards in my radio plus labor was roughly $1400. Basically the entire radio was fried and everything had to be replaced internally. This is radio only, as I brought my radio in stand alone without my car. And although I asked for detailed part numbers and names on my invoice of exactly what parts were being bought, I never received that in my invoice. I wish they were more transparent but I can't complain since everything was fixed and done properly.

They do such great work, but that leads to their downfall - they are soo busy that the waitlist is several months long. But even then, I will only take my vintage audio equipment to them. They are very knowledgeable (common failure modes, components, etc) and are able to troubleshoot all issues that have arisen.

I took my laptop in after finding it dead on a Thursday morning. I use it as my main computer with…read morea powered hub and extended monitor. I was asked if I wanted expedited service and of course I said "yes" to the charge of $99 since I needed it turned around fast. On Friday I called to find out the status and was told that it needed to be "opened" and if I approved (another charge) with no commitment as to when it would be fixed. Saturday was the tech's day off and they are not open on Sunday so no apparent rush to fix it. On Monday I was asked if I needed the data. I had originally said "no" because I had my data backed up on Carbonite. I asked about the Apps that I had and the tech said they would be wiped as well so I decided to save the data and apps. This was a $199 charge to "determine if the data was salvageable" by testing the SSD. I was then called and told that yes, the SSD was salvageable and there would be a $599 charge to recover it. Each step was a dagger because I needed my computer and the data/apps so I approved the charges. I finally got my computer back on Monday afternoon with a $1,600 bill feeling like I should have just bought a new computer and put up with reinstalling my apps. I got the computer home, hooked into my system and it worked fine. The next morning it was dead again. I hooked it up to a spare charger (bypassing the powered hub) and the computer was back to life. The entire problem was my hub charger! At no time was I advised that a charger might have been the problem and was instead overcharged for work that wasn't needed (probably not even opened to get to the SSD that I was bill around $800 for testing and recovery.) THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF! I'm thinking of reporting them to the BBB. Update on 08/14/26: Eddy from ClickAway reached out to explain the services that were performed on my laptop. After his explanation I am now better informed of the work and charges and better appreciate what was needed to get it restored to working order. I updated my original rating based on an agreement to reduce the price of data restoration. I am looking forward to a continued relationship with ClickAway.
