Half order of Sol Nachos, surprisingly really good!!
    Lucy T.

This place is right across from work so it is very convenient to go to for lunch. The people there are nice and the service is good. The food sometimes take awhile, but it all depends on what you order. When I ordered to go, they still gave me chips and both salsas without charge. Great customer service! I ordered the half order of Sol Nachos today and I was surprised at how good it was. It was a perfect amount for lunch. I've been here a few other times and the other dishes were good/decent too. The taco salad could actually feed two and the I love the taco bowl lol. Overall, the food and service is good. I would recommend this place if you work near by in downtown.

Friday Lunch special $8.65 including tax-includes burrito, rice, beans, salsa and chips.

This is located right across the street from the police station so I was surprised there were not more people in here during lunch time. It seems to be a family run restaurant. The woman at the counter was really nice and appreciative for the business. The place was nice and clean. I ordered the Friday burrito special which included a good size burrito, rice, beans, salsa and chips. When they brought it out it looked really delicious, however, it was just pretty good. This restaurant seems to be more on the tex-mex side, which is usually not my preference. They have a daily lunch special so I will stop in and try some of their other stuff.

Opened up my box to discover this monstrosity

Never again! I gave this restaurant two tries. I tried their breakfast tacos months ago and was given two bland and gummy tacos filled with cold eggs and random specks of bacon bits. The egg was so cold that the shredded cheese hadn't even melted. I just tried them again for lunch. I ordered the Sol Nachos for nearly $11 with tax. I was given the food and went back to my office--only to discover that the lady who handed me the bag had put my food box in upside-down and most of the "queso" had spilled into the bag. I opened the box to discover ice cold nachos with some of the runniest queso I had ever run into. The nachos were flavorless and the only highlights were the salsa provided in a cup and the pico. The chicken was also...okay. At least it had a little flavor. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but I can't give my support to a restaurant who serves customers cold and flavorless food regularly.

Breakfast taco ( get their green sauce - it's the sheeettttttt!!!! )

These ladies work very hard to provide us wonderful food , excellent customer service and reasonable pricing ! I have ordered their breakfast tacos with no eggs - delicious!!! I have ordered their 1/2 size beef fajita nachos and their chicken flautas! I won't order the nachos with the yellow queso; however , Everything else was delicious! Plus their homemade refried beans and their yellow Mexican rice, Very, very good ! I love these ladies and you can tell they put their heart and Sol into this place ! Thank you !

Chorizo with potatoes taco and coffee
    Cintia P.

I ordered a coffee and breakfast taco with chorizo and potatoes. The coffee was good, it reminded me of the cafe de olla I've had at other places. The taco was huge, the chorizo had eggs (which I didn't expect) and potatoes all smashed up together. The flavor was good, but I wasn't too happy about the texture. Normally I would expect to get potatoes and chorizo mixed but not smashed up. The sauce was very watery, it could be a little thicker and it lacked in spice and flavor. I would go back to try other items and the red sauce to see if it's any better. The ladies working there were very friendly and polite, I was greeted coming in and leaving.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

Service was remarkable and very friendly from the host to the cleaning staff. Food was delicious. I really appreciated the creative flavors that were inspired by authentic Mexican cuisine. Standouts were the guacamole and wagyu carne asada, but everything was fantastic. I loved the Clara cocktail and enjoyed learning about the process to create it. It is clear that there was care and attention behind each menu item. Also, the pace of the food being brought out was evenly paced, which I appreciate, and our server gave us just the right amount of attentiveness. We celebrated my husband's birthday here, and they sent out a tres leches with a candle on it. Very kind and very delicious dessert. Usually not a big fan of tres leches, but this one was not overwhelmingly soaked in condensed milk, and it has a very fresh tasting peach (seasonal) puree drizzled on top. We will most definitely return.

We ordered the breakfast burrito and the duck carnitas. We added barbacoa to the burrito, and it was honestly the definition of comfort food. It was EXTREMELY greasy though, so I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. If I had been home alone... I probably would've just shoved the whole thing in my mouth. I couldn't not order the duck carnitas. It came on a sope, which is basically my definition of the perfect Mexican brunch. It was really yummy, and I especially loved the salsa that came with it. My only real critique is that the portions felt a little on the smaller side. Either bump them up a bit or add a small side, because I definitely could've eaten a little more.
