Very nice clean place. Great service and the food was very good. I had delicious Chicken Mole Enchiladas and my partner had the Monday(only) special Fideo with chicken.

This was a very good place to hop in after our event. we were a large party, they accommodate for us to sit together. As well as split checks individually without any issue, or any additional (forced) gratuity. Service was pleasant, and polite. Food was hot and very fresh. I had flaunts that was crispy with a nice crunch and filed with white meat chicken. with cheese quesadillas, and beef nachos, which were really great with a touch a cheese and guacamole. It was perfect, nothing with over kill. there were two flaws, I asked for no jalapeños and they were still places on there settling in my sour cream, and not sauce or queso came with the flaunts, which was a bit odd to me. For the mishap she did bring me a side of queso, even after being told no. So it made up for the flaws. Which explains my 5star in full detail. The lady restrooms is located upstairs, which was very clean, and updated. The ladies restroom was WAYYYY better than I expected it to appear to be. The restaurant looks like it was a house that turn into a restaurant. this is a place I'll return to again. Food is very delish, I want to explore there menu, which look very nice.

The food was good, I got the taco nachos bowl with beef & all the toppings on top. The service was pretty quick given the large group being served. It's a chill low-key spot that lets you eat in peace. They understand the after-hours fresh grub assignment .

My wife allowed me to pick a new spot for our Sunday Mexican breakfast. This place was perfect! The menudo was over the top and didn't disappoint! Chips and salsa were tasty, plus the service was very attentive. Once we sat down, we were greeted with family charm and history of long lasting friendship.

Ahh so many great memories at Chapultepec. Absolutely love this place (and have for many years), and glad it is still going strong! The food here is delicious, and the people who run this place are the absolute nicest. Some of my favorites are the tortas, tacos el carbon, and the queso. The caldo de res is so good when you're feeling under the weather. Tortilla chips are killer too. This is some good ole Tex-Mex, and will definitely satisfy your fix. Now that Ruchi's on West Alabama and Shepherd is closed, my go-to for late night Mexican bites is at Chapultepec or La Tapatia. Hope everyone comes out and continues to support this business!

I came here with a friend for a Saturday morning brunch. This was my first time here and will be my last. Let me explain... The service was horrible. The restaurant was nearly empty. There were only two other tables when we arrived. Upon them bringing us our food, I asked them for a salsa for my breakfast tacos (not the table salsa, something spicier). We also asked for utensils since they didn't bring any with our food. At least 10 minutes passed and nothing... finally one of the other waitresses comes out to clean a table and after a few minutes we got her attention. Once again we requested silverware and salsa which she did bring, but at this point our food had started to get cold. The eggs in the breakfast tacos tasted off, not sure if it's because cold eggs or they were spoiled. The restaurant itself seemed dirty. The ceiling tiles were moldy and looked like they were retaining water. Although the food is extremely cheap, it's definitely not worth the quality of food and the service. I would not recommend this place.

I can't believe this place doesn't have many good reviews! This is one of my favorite frequented late night spots in the area, especially for a late night meal. This is perfect for night shift workers, college students, partiers, or just everyday people who don't have the most accomodating schedules. The ambiance can be pretty hit or miss at times. Sometimes it's dead quiet and almost like a liminal space and the walk up to the bathrooms can be scary, but othertimes, when the jukebox is going or the music is on, it's almost too loud to hear. The restaurant is akin to a house or two turned into a restaurant, but I count it as part of the personality and charm. I can't personally discount it for what it is. This is my third or fourth time coming here, and the staff have always been so friendly and helpful towards everyone I come to visit with. They have been tolerant and offer a variety of options to customize your order. As for the food, I am in love with their menudo, and that's what keeps bringing me back! The last waitress I had even commented that I was the only person that clears the plate and picks the bones clean, just like her. I'd one hundred percent recommend towards anyone who's into adventurous foods or also grew up from an ethnic background. I got the menudo, fries, flour tortillas, my friend got the shrimp burrito, and we had the sopapillas for dessert. Like always, we left very happy!

I was in the area and tried to go to another Tex Mex/Mexican restaurant that ended up being closed. I remembered a colleague telling me about this place and it was close by, so I decided to check it out. There is a huge parking lot right next to it, which you cannot park in. No points deducted for that but as a heads up, there's a narrow driveway on the left side that leads to a parking area around back, which is actually the entrance. Alternatively, if you go around the block there is another entrance to the parking area from a side street. For some reason, walking in was a bit awkward. Maybe it was the lack of any music ( which I don't think I consciously registered at the time), or the lack of greeting. It was so quiet in there. It was like a movie, when the new guy in town walks in a room and all heads turn and look but no one talks. I felt like Marty McFly walking into the saloon in 1885 for the first time. In the words of Tupac.."All Eyez On Me." After the awkward entrance and silence, I made my way to a seat. At this point, I'm just astounded at how quiet it is in this place. It was a Sunday but even church is louder than this. I couldn't decide if the outdated look of the place was by design or just ambivalence. Either way, what I'm really here is for good food, so judging by the looks, I am expecting some abuela level cuisine here. Growing up in a West Texas Mexican household, I have high expectations when it comes to "authentic Tex Mex/Mexican food" (don't get me started on this loaded phrase/label and debate). I'm not sure people in the USA, even Texas, understand how many regions and influences there are in Mexican food, Texas Mexican food being one of them. I digress, though, so let me step off my soapbox. The first time I'm coming to a new Texas Mexican restaurant I'm looking for a few things to standout. The salsa that comes with the chips. I'll give some leeway on the chips themselves although they can't be totally generic, but way less leeway on the salsa. This salsa was really good! This is the heat level that seems to be lacking in a lot of restaurants I've gone to in the area. When the salsa brings a tear to my eye, these are tears of happiness! Okay, salsas good. Let's check a few other things. Do they have Carne Guisada? Check! I'll order that. And let's see what those tortillas do. The waitress was very polite and gave us time to peruse the menu. On a side note, there is a dish called Chapulines on the menu, which means grasshopper in Mexican Spanish ( influenced by Nahuatl, a native Mexican language), and is a thing in Mexican, especially Oaxacan cuisine (again regional). I haven't found them outside of Hugo's (let me know Yelpers) in Houston. So I saw this and was excited as heck until I realized, it's just a chicken or beef burrito. Huh? New one to me. Never heard of burritos referred by that name before. Anyway, the Carne Guisada comes out. It looks a little different than what my mom and abuela cooked and almost every restaurant in west Texas. I'm used to a lot more gravy with my meat. Half of the fun is trying to soak up all the gravy with tortillas. This had very little. The meat was good. It had a good flavor and was tender and the serving size was good. The beans and rice were solid but not outstanding. The tortillas were a little meh to me. Just not as soft and pliable as I like. If you've ever had homemade abuela or mom tortillas, you know what I mean. Everything was ok and I'd like to try some other things out sometime but I'm not rushing back at the moment. I was going to give 2 stars but then I remembered the salsa, which I ordered a container to go. It was that good. I'd go back just for that. The waitress was very good. Attentive and polite. I'm still mystified about the quiet in there though. Play some music, please. Anything, Tejano, Norteño, Banda, Corridos. Even 80's or Country music. It's just weird listening to the table two booths away from me talk about how much they hate El Paso for 30 minutes. I'll give it a three for now. I hope to return in the future and have a better experience.

Chicken nachos. They ask if u want 6 or 12 because that's how many chips u will get. They played in my face $10.99 for this

Service was ok as there were not many people in the restaurant. Ambiance was old mom and pops not really decorated just there with some old newspaper clippings on the wall. it was a sketchy area and the 2 young men were horse playing and loud quiet annoying I go to order my food I ordered a frozen margarita and chicken nacho. the waitress did not speak English well she kept asking 6 or 12 and I say I want the nachos. she says yes 6 or 12 I say 6 what she says nachos I just say yes nachos 6 is fine she literally brought me out 6 chips with cheese chicken guacamole and sour cream for $10.99 I will add a pic

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.

Parking can be challenging on weekends, but there is complimentary valet and a few extra spots in a lot across the street. There's interior and exterior seating, with cozy booths and tables. Service is friendly. Chips and salsa: Superica has some of my favorite chips, crispy and thin and perfectly fried. The avocado crema salsa and warm serrano pepper salsas are delicious with a mild kick. The bottled red salsa is fresh and green salsa packs a nice punch. Migas: Scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and cheese, choice of chicken versus chorizo on top, finished with fresh avocado. I really enjoyed this combination and the generous portion for the price. The eggs are well scrambled without being dry, and the pairing with cheese is proportional. The chicken was a touch dry, but some salsa solved that well. I enjoyed stuffing each component into a fresh tortilla and devouring it as a breakfast taco. Refried beans and rice: Really delicious. The refried beans are of the smoother variety without as much chunkiness, which I prefer, and topped with creamy cheese. I could have used a touch more tomato in the rice, but overall enjoyed the texture and flavor. Patatas with salsa roja, topped with egg: I enjoyed the flavors in this dish, but there was sooo much salsa. The potatoes were thus a little soggy, though still cooked well. The over medium egg was cooked nicely and complemented the potatoes with creamy yolk. Bacon: Really generous portion for $7 as a side, and cooked well. Crispy potatoes: I enjoy that these are fingerling potatoes smashed and roasted, but they could be crispier. They seem to be on the blander side on purpose to allow seasoning to taste, and I really like pairing them with the red bottled salsa provided at each table (probably due to their association with ketchup). Hotcakes: The literal star of every brunch, these hotcakes are consistently delicious. They're massive yet somehow cooked perfectly through so that they're fluffy and soft on the inside and just with a slight crunch on the outside. The pairing of the creamy warm (!!!) maple syrup is heavenly. Because of how huge these are, usually one is enough to share between two people, although they also come in stacks of two and three. For reference, we finished 3/4 of three between four healthy and hungry people and it wasn't for lack of trying. Whenever I crave weekend brunch, Superica is always a top option.
