My family of four decided to try a new restaurant this past Sunday afternoon and came across Soi 705. Based on the reviews, I was expecting excellent food and friendly service. Unfortunately, the reality was disappointing. The service was lackluster, and our waitress, in particular was rude and dismissive. The atmosphere also felt more like a nightclub--dark and dirty. rather than a welcoming place for a casual meal. We ordered the baozi bunz, which turned out to be just one bun cut in half. While flavorful, $3.50 for essentially half a bun feels overpriced. I also tried their "pink drink," which was underwhelming at best. On the positive side, the food did take a bit of time to arrive, which suggests it was prepared to order and fresh. However, the overall experience fell short. The bill came to $150 for four people, and that was with two of us only having water. Between the steep prices, mediocre food and drinks, and poor service, I don't see myself returning. The rude service, in particular, sealed my decision. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Ever had one of those dining experiences where you're excited to get there and it just goes downhill AND keeps going downhill until you walk... no, run out of there? This was my experience. The appetizer named Holiday in Cambodia was in my opinion pretty good. A nice sweetness, a bit of tanginess, accents of ginger and pine nuts... not bad. However, everything else was absolutely unacceptable and to add insult to injury it took well over 1 hour to get our food (Yakisoba noodles and an entree salad). Iced tea was nothing better than tinted water. The ice water had something resembling an oily film floating on the surface of my wife's glass. Spice levels were wrong and not to the request. I can go on and should, but this review isn't worth it because I have a gut feeling about this place. I believe that the kitchen and wait staff are either bored, emotionally bankrupt, exhausted or have simply lost all sense of passion for this restaurant. If I am right, please give it up and close because Richland and its community deserve far better. If I am wrong, do better for the next person to come in. Do a whole lot better. BTW... that meal I endured... $75.00. The audacity of it all is absurd, SOI 705!

Was a 1000% raving lunatic of a fan until this year- hoping they make a turn around. Last few visits the menus have been gross (filthy/sticky), food was overcooked, portions shrank, and waitstaff forgot to tend their tables. Had to call them over to place orders, follow up on requests, and remind them to get our ticket, and no, it wasn't busy. Most of the food was still good- a novice wouldn't notice a difference in quality. Atmosphere is still fun and the cocktail menu is fun to read through. Pictures in my review were from my smashing review from a year ago when I was in love with the place and the portions, service, and quality were outstanding. 5 stars hands down then... Here's to hoping for beautiful days in their future.

We went in right when they opened for dinner. It was very unique inside. The wait to get our food was a little long but boy was it worth it! Everything was delicious. We ordered their popular fries as an appetizer, 2 beers, 1 alcoholic mixed drink, and 2 entrees. The entrees were huge!

Walk in from the boardwalk and feels like you walked outside with it's unique street indoor decor. Lunch was quiet, like too quiet with no music. Oddly the initial interest in this spot was because of all the music advertising. Interesting menu but many were not available at the time. Small bites took a good minute to come out and were a bit salty. Will venture back for the evening events. Guessing a livelier atmosphere with live music.

There are many things to love about Soi 705, and on average I'm sure they've earned their high rating. Unfortunately, they got my takeout order wrong, so I can't go with more stars based on my personal experience. The great: Service here is super nice. My order wasn't ready when I arrived, so I had a seat over on the side. The staff member who was checking on my order brought me a glass of water, a kindness I appreciated very much. The place definitely has a happy vibe, and it seems like a fun place to eat in. The just good: I called in an order of Pad Thai with tofu to go. They asked if egg and fish sauce were okay, so they're definitely looking after vegans. I said yes, they were okay. After picking up my order and walking it back to a park to eat, I opened it to find no tofu and just one piece of egg in the dish. I was super bummed because I really needed some protein. On the plus side, there were lots of veggies: broccoli, carrots, and cabbage, all cooked very nicely. The flavor of the noodles was also very good, with the tamarind tang I love in Pad Thai. So it definitely was a tasty dish, just not what I wanted. I'd definitely go back and give them another try if I get out to the area again. I'll probably dine in to get a better experience and avoid the chance of a miscommunication over the phone.

Absolutely delicious. I didn't leave a single bite in my bowl (and, I normally always have leftovers to take home). Authentic food, great service, chill music, and I love the dim lighting/colorful decor. It was a great spot for date night (we loved the addition of the tea light candle on each table). Highly recommend! Wish I could've snapped a pic of the food, but once we saw it, it was all in from there! You'll just have to take my word on it. :P read more

I absolutely love this place! After being out of the area for years, I was worried I would miss all of the options for food and nightlife. We all know Tri Cities loves a chain restaurant and closes at 10 pm But finding this cute little mom and pop restaurant/bar has been such a treat! The drinks are always on point, the food is a Thai fusion which is probably the best way for some people in this area to experience something out of their comfort zone and the staff is always friendly. I love sitting at the bar top and chatting with the bartender Jo. I heard they also have live music from time to time so I can't wait to see what that's about. Five stars all the way :) read more

The vibe here is outstanding. Modern look with a really fun and eclectic bar. I get excited when a place has more than one kind of Basil Hayden. I had the cucumber salad. It lacked flavor, but was plates beautifully. The wontons were delicious. Lots of shredded veggies on the side and flavorful sauce. The cheese rangoons were delicious as well, but could use a more robust dipping sauce. I had their fun take on a boulevardier. It was great. My second drink was an almond mezcal cocktail that missed the mark for me. It just lacked flavor. Overall, great place and would definitely visit again. read more

Went Friday night. First time in. Small but had a great look to it. Once seated it was rough. Servers basically forgot us. Finally placed the food order after about 20 minutes being there. Then the food came out very poorly. Two out of four got theirs. Then we waited three minutes and the third person got theirs. No napkins. No silverware. When we asked for it you would think we were asking too much. The fourth waited about five minutes before trying to get the servers attention, only to be barked at by the server that my food was coming. When the fourth finally got served two of th others were almost done eating. No apologies. No nothing I don't recommend going there Order pick up, but avoid the staff! read more

Staff was very nice and accommodating but the food did not taste authentic as it looked in the photos and everything was over priced. My husband got pad thai ($17) and it was more like a noodle salad with sweet chili flavor. The noodle was dry as if it was cooked a while ago and left sitting out. Fresh cooked pad thai is suppose to be nice and moist. Also, we ordered the malaysian meatballs and although it was good it was still 4 small meatballs on a skewer for $9. We also ordered the papaya salad and chicken platter. I enjoyed it but the sauce on the chicken tasted like the same sauce on the meatballs and the pad thai. The flavors were very one dimensional. read more

Took over an hour to get food. Can't even describe what the brown fried rice texture was like. Phad Thai was not good. Might of been made with the sweet chili sauce. We didn't end up eating the dish after a few bites. Duck Spring roll was actually fried and was an oily mess. Not a great experience considering each dish was pricey compared to other places around there. read more

My wife and I found this fantastic Thai/Tapas restaurant and bar in the same area of foodies and the moniker... we were able to actually order off menu and the drunken noodles were absolutely fantastic... Was really excited to tri this place given that we came up from Granger ~ 1 hr drive. We get there and hosted said 30min wait due to there being reservations. There were 3 empty tables and I suggested if our party could sit in the corner one, she had to call her manager to confirm. We get the table. Very nice drink menu definitely something different but prices were giving city prices. Haven't seen a $15 cocktail in tricities before. Alright so we order, very nice waiter. Place was not too busy or packed. After a bit of wait they bring half our food out. Half our party began eating while the other half waited for there food to arrive. 45 minutes later the rest of the food didn't come out yet. Turns out the waiter never put the order in.. okay. Yikes. We ended up being there for over 2 hours waiting for dinner. Honestly not going to completely bash on this place. It's new and seems to need some reorganization of staff and management I get it. But cmon how do u forget to put in half an order, still only bring our food for half the people , and not question if anyone else is missing something ? This place is Definitely not worth the wait or time. Food was mid a solid 4/10. I am no food critic but it definitely lacked flavor. Interior was interesting definitely a hole in the wall. It's a cute place if your eating solo but def wouldn't come in a group of 4 or more. read more

My siblings and I were looking for a place to stop and get a cocktail and we happen to stumble on this place walking by. We are so happy that we stopped in because we spent a few hours there and tried a variety of drinks! Great selection! This place is unique and different from the normal dive bar, which is what this town needs! The owner Joe is awesome! We love Thai and rarely wander from our ol' stand by but tonight we came upon this delightful spot and we will be back for more because there's so much more we want to try! We had the Chicken Cashew Pineapple dish, a yakisoba dish as well as crispy spring rolls. We loved every bite. The food was fresh and seasoned perfectly. This is a must if you are in Richland. First, the bartender was upfront about them being short staffed.. we had just left another spot across the street disappointed in their menu so we chose to wait. The food arrived much faster than anticipated, if they were short staffed they did a great job disguising it! The food was absolutely spot on. We chose three appetizers to try to put less stress on the staff, I can only imagine how tasty the entrees were. The satay was probably the best I have ever had and the sauces complemented expertly. The bartender was also amazing! I never saw her stop the entire time we were seated.. thank you for a great meal! read more

Called in an order, went to pick it up within the time window they specified. Was told it wasn't ready but they were working on it. Came back in 10mins later and still wasn't ready... long story short took 40 mins to get our food. It wasn't that great. read more

As a self-proclaimed foodie brat who calls the TriCities a "culinary wasteland"... Soi 705 is a MUCH NEEDED BLESSING. I absolutely loved my first experience, from the designer cocktail to incredible food with robust, layered, well-thought-out flavors... I couldn't be more excited to have found Soi. With a rotating menu, I won't be able to stay away & will always have a eye out for what's to come next! There's no place like this in the Tri, nowhere even close! read more

I've been in here 3 times now with my family and had a different menu each time, I was taken back at first but pleasantly surprised each time and they still let me order from previous menus. Which as a mom is awesomebecause I know my son will eat here without going through the process of trying to work out something new. I did ask why their menus are unavailable online still and was offered an explanation but assurance they will make an update, but honestly I was more excited about my next meal here to see what will be on the next menu rotation. I had a very refreshing lychee cocktail and my server went out of the way to make my son a kid friendly drink that was gone in an instant. These guys are very new, and are still in the works of getting settled by the sounds of it, but they're definitely worth trying out, some something different that all of the other Thai places in town. It's fun to come in and see something new each time, my husband is a movie buff and loves the Asian posters. I will be back soon. Perhaps a date night !! read more
