    Nice for a hotel restaurant

I write this with a heavy sigh as I was looking forward to eating here (based on prior YELP review.) I'm generous with the 3 Stars. Very disappointed. Sadly I gave this place and the female server (7/14) many opportunities to "make it right". Without telling a long arduous and boring story this will sum it up: upon arriving I requested a wine list (there isn't any) I was asked "what I like" so I said "a good Chardonnay" rather than telling me there was only ONE Chardonnay in the house I was served it. I tasted it and didn't like it. No one returned to even ask. Server and her co-worker never smiled at anyone even a long haired lady came and made a drink - no smile. Very unfriendly place. I'm all smiles (and it's usually contagious) finally I asked "do you have only ONE? (Chardonnay)" (Because I would have ordered something else had I seen the label of the common store brand) She replied "yes" and that was it. I left the drink sit and finally after getting to my dinner order - ordered a different drink. Dinner average. Salad and appetizer came out with my main dish. By the time I made it to my main dish the salmon was dry and cool. Again, these little things summed up the whole experience. I hope they either get new management (and employee training) or that these employees just find a job doing something else NOT in service industry.

Didn't eat here, but spent a couple hours in the bar. Not a lot of atmosphere. Kinda corporate, but the staff was friendly and attentive.

All of the staff were so nice and truly went above and beyond. They had no problem giving us lunch so early and made sure that more than every need of ours was met. Also, pie!!! I ordered a ribeye and eggs with sourdough toast, instead I was served a NY instead with 1 slice of bread...not sourdough. Cook came out to correct me that the steak was indeed a ribeye. now, I have worked in a meat dept. for several years at my last employment, I was also a manager for a steakhouse...I definitely know the difference. I had the server remove the steak and she adjusted the bill. (if only I could post a picture of the receipt) the bill: $5 (2 eggs), hash browns $5.50, toast $3.50 (1 slice). So I was charged for side orders. okay, but $3.50 for 1 slice of bread and not even what I had ordered. Pathetic. Now, if it was one issue, no biggie, not a deal breaker, but there was multiple issues, especially when the cook (hahaha) came to my table to tell me I was wrong. I am a firm believer that the customer is not always right, but this time, I was. I really do hope the owner reads and replies to this post, because no manager/supervisor came to my table to address the issues.

We sat at the bar to escape it, and somehow, of course, they ended up right behind us again. At that point, even the staff were giving each other that look like, "yeah ... we smell it too." Our server stepped in like a hero and quietly moved us to a corner booth, no fuss, no awkwardness, just excellent problem-solving so we could actually enjoy our meal. And that right there is part of why I've always loved this place. The service and food are consistently great, and they handle things with a kind of care you don't see everywhere. I don't even live in the area anymore, but I will stay loyal to Sageport long term. Sageport is the freaking best.

Service We went on a weekend morning so there was a bit of a wait (~15-20 mins). After we were seated, the service was amazing and quick. Ambiance The ambiance is definitely a unique one and one that I don't see very often. It does have its own charm. It is a smaller establishment with lots of tables, so one may find it a bit cramped on the inside. Other Notes With this restaurant, you do get a bill that you have to pay at the front (like Denny's) and their restroom is a bit weirdly located. You'll have to go behind the counter and into a bit of the kitchen to get to it.

A Mixed Bag with Room for Improvement (2.5/5)…read more We visited Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar for lunch and left with mixed feelings. While a couple of items stood out for decent flavor, the overall experience, especially the service and value, didn't quite meet expectations for a mid-range bistro. What We Ordered: 1. Fried Calamari - Lightly crispy and seasoned well enough, but the portion was small for the ~$20 price tag. The artichokes and pickled onions on the side were a nice touch and helped round out the dish. 2. Avocado Toast - Served as four half-slices of toast with a thin spread of avocado--decent, but underwhelming. The scrambled eggs were passable but felt commercial. The arugula salad on the side was overdressed and heavy on cheese, likely gorgonzola. 3. Steak Salad - The steak cubes were overcooked and arrived cold, which was the biggest disappointment. Though the salad greens were fresh and plentiful, the dish was heavy on cashews, and the cheese flavor was intense. 4. Breakfast Burrito with Fries - I didn't try this personally, but our friend said it was not memorable. The fries looked average--crispy but nothing special. ‍ Service: Service was polite but lacked attentiveness. After being seated, we waited about 10-15 minutes to receive a drink order. Only two glasses were brought out for three people, and when our appetizer arrived, no utensils were provided. We had to request basics that should have been automatically offered. We did appreciate the server accommodating our request to change tables for better sun however. Ambience: The interior had a retro-upscale family restaurant vibe--maybe reminiscent of a 1990s aesthetic. Some might find the design nostalgic, though it felt a little dated to us. The lighting fixtures were interesting and varied in design, which added a little flair. Pricing falls into the $30-40 range per person with an appetizer, so expectations were naturally higher. Final Thoughts: Twigs Bistro has potential, but inconsistencies in food quality, small portions for the price, and inattentive service made the visit less than ideal. While we enjoyed some elements like the calamari and fresh greens, it's not a place we'd prioritize returning to--especially given the number of great dining options in the area.
