The Cedars at Pier One had become The Locker, a pirate themed restaurant and bar that had its opening recently. We went with a group of five. We sat outside in the bar area and waited 45 minutes before the owner came to get our drink order. About 15 minutes later the waitress came over and apologized that she didn't know we were her table (there were only 2 other tables seated out there.) It went downhill from there. The drinks were pictured on the menu as it was a "takeover" for a local distillery. When asked why one of the drinks didn't look like the picture the waitress said, "we don't do it that way." The owner came over later and corrected that. Another drink came out with a fruit fly in it (it's summer, it happens) but she took it in and literally came back out with the same drink. The appetizers were fine but took 45minutes to come out and were not worth the money. The best part of the evening was the company and the summer breeze on the patio - other than that, I'd rather walk the plank than return, which is hard to say because I'd heard good things about the place and hadn't been before. We had to go find our waitress to cash out as she was telling us to have a good evening. We had to remind her that we hadn't paid (even though I kind of wished we didn't have too.) I think the owner is well intentioned and I'm hoping we just experienced the growing pains of a transfer in ownership and theme.

Great food and good ambience since the new management change! The food and service were great, loved the pirate rum barrel.

The view was amazing during sunset and watching the paddleboat go by was fun. The food was delicious and came out at the perfect timing. The service seemed a bit rushed at times (trying to clear plates even though we weren't finished) the salad bar needs help..not many toppings offered. Would I come back? Possibly.

    Great bread rolls!

Great service, and excellent filet mignon. A beautiful view of the Columbia and the two bridges. The bread rolls were great. The clam chowder was okay, it was nice to have a soup but we were most excited about the main course. There's a nice variety of desserts too, the mud pie was our favorite. The crab wasn't great so I wouldn't add that again, but would definitely come back when we want a good steak.

Pirates. I get it. Because they steal your money! 3% extra for using a credit card? Not cool.

Great view! And that is the only thing great about this restaurant. The food was very disappointing. I read online somewhere that they had good steaks. Nope. The meat was fatty and way over salted. The carrots were covered in some sort of a syrup? And here's the worst thing: they charge you 3% extra if you're using a credit card? What? Who's paying $47 for a steak dinner in cash in 2023? I would recommend going elsewhere.

There are 2 crab cakes served and actually there is enough to share.

I will start off with the service. When I first came in I mentioned that I thought the music was a little loud and I wanted more quiet the owner turned it down to accommodate me which I thought was very nice. Kassandra was the server. She made recommendations that were spot on. I ended up with the crab cakes and the early bird special sirloin steak. I started off with the clam chowder which was similar to what I would find in New England, Creamy with clams and potatoes in it. The crab cakes have a lot of crab in them versus filler and I thought that the sauces that they were served with were a good blend of sweet and spicy. As I mentioned I ordered the early bird special sirloin steak. It was cooked medium rare the way I ordered. It came with a baked potato and clam chowder as an option you could get a salad bar. I thought for the price it was on target and the steak was tender and the big potato was large and came out nice and hot. The ambience was nice as I had a chance to look out at the river. Overall it was a enjoyable dining experience.

The steak and mash potatoes was delicious. Kendall provided great service for my nieces and I. The salad was enjoyable and fun to create. The margarita was yummy. I recommend that if you want a healthy and hearty meal you visit.

King salmon, garlic mashed with lemon caper butter and a side of veggies.

Okay we were 12 guys and 2 girls (all of us coworkers from a multi national engineering and construction company) and we could easily see thru the windows inside that the place was completely empty. One of our party ask why a 5 dollars cover charge if the place was empty? And the bouncer said that we were looking into the private lounge and that the dance floor was packed. IF BY PACK HE WAS REFERRING TO THE OTHER 8 PERSONS WE SHARED THE WHOLE LOCAL FOR THE NEXT 2 HOUS THEN HE DIDN'T LIED AT ALL. Second star deducted: The DJ and it's constant yelling. DUDE I could tell your "peak" in life was 2003 -2004, by the selection of music you were playing (mostly Lil John, Pitbull, Nelly and Paul Van Dyk sets - Hey! There's nothing wrong with that since those were my wonder years in college) but your constant yelling on the microphone trying to pump the 20 of us there, was completely pathetic. YES!!! IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT AND WE ARE AT CRAVE...WHOP IT DO!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMIND ME EVERY 10 MINUTES ABOUT IT!!! Third Star deducted: The guy in khaki cargo shorts and Rebook. WTF with a dress code ? You market yourself as a dance club/ultra lounge and suddenly I'm ordering a drink at the bar next to a guy in a t-shirt and cargo shorts and Rebooks while I'm wearing my best dress shirt and pants from J Crew/Zara ? Fourth and final star deducted:The Glass Shot Glass and the less of a shot of alcohol that you can't take away from the bar Debacle. You are going to pour my Scotch on a 2 ounce shot glass with so much ice it looks like a Scotch Slurpee and then when I tried to stand next to my friends a bouncer is going to yell at my face like a drill sergeant because I crossed an empty dance floor with a non-plastic cup. CHILL MAN!!! There's only 20 of us here and anyways the price I paid for a Johnnie Walker is about the same as a Macallan 20 years in Vegas... SO I'M NOT GOING TO DROP IT ! SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR THIS PLACE... BUT IT'S A SHAME MANAGEMENT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PROMOTE IT!

Not to mention, I made a joke on their Facebook page about their drinks being weak and they deleted all my comments and blocked me. What sort of business doesn't allow negative comments on their Facebook page? Seems childish and unprofessional to me.

The Grizzly Bar menu had several options that caught my eye, but I decided I wanted the Blackened Salmon. Everything about this dish was great! The presentation was simple but made me want to immediately dig in and enjoy the promise of some excellent food. The taste of the salmon was scrumptious. I particularly enjoyed the crust that the blackening gave the fish. The crust was very lightly done, but provided a slight crunch. I also enjoyed the vegetable side of broccoli and carrots. Two of my favorites! I'm not that big of a fan for wild rice. I normally just prefer steamed white rice, but this time the wild rice was a great complement to the salmon. The service was a little slow, but the staff was swamped with almost a full house. So, with that in mind, I believe they did a great job. Even being so swamped they were all nice, polite, and professional. The decor was thick wood with an obvious bear motif. There is a huge floor area to provide a nice dance area for the dance nights.

I could easily see myself spending a few hours here and lounging, maybe writing or grading papers, and just enjoying the ambiance. It does have that local-pub type feel to it. Easy to find parking right out on the street. I selected the seasonal cocktails Demeter to drink. Gin is my spirit of choice, and the addition of black currants and blackberries was intriguing. The Cassis Noir De Bourgogne was the dominant flavor, rich black currant flavor from the liqueur. I do also appreciate that the drink was a very nice balance between mild tartness and mild sweetness, I could easily drink four or five in a sitting and still feel good about it. I do enjoy the terpene notes from gin and was unfortunately not able to taste them since the black currants were some dominant. The blackberries and the rosemary both struck me as there for the visual appeal more-so than the taste. If the berries were muddled more, then they too could add depth to the flavor. As they were in the mostly intact state I drank around them, a straw would not have been appropriate for the drink. I think one could cut the ice in half, it would still stay cold, and the ease of drinking would go up. I could probably also get more blackberries into my mouth for an additional sensory experience. Lastly, I did wish for more bubbles, more effervescence. Keep a neutral flavor (like carbonated soda) and let the Cassis shine.
