They have a nice soup and salad bar! The menu is large, so lots of choices. The servers seem to be nice.

Lunchtime on a weekday, not terribly crowded ... a good thing, we got a table right away. - 5 stars. Our server, Kathryn, spot on service, cover to cover. She gets 5 stars! The house? Always seems a tad darker than necessary, rather dated and overdue for a renovation. The Richland locations have a warmer vibe. The music playing didn't earn any kudos for a couple reasons. First, it was just at the edge of loud enough to be distracting. Second, the playlist seemed more appropriate for a much younger audience than the overwhelming majority of the clientele in the house at the time. Ambience, all in? - 3 stars. The food? She had the one-trip salad bar and said it was pretty good but nothing especially noteworthy. She said - 4 stars. Mine, meh, predictable, ok, but unremarkable bordering on forgettable. Some things were a tad salt heavy, others were seemingly unseasoned altogether. Mine - 3 stars. I opted for a baked potato. It came out seemingly over-baked because the flesh had to be carved away from the inside of the skin. It wasn't that carb-lovers baked spud, which was disappointing. When I told the manager of the great service we had received, he said he was glad to hear that. Then, I mentioned the potato and how it had come out, but instead of any acceptance, he got defensive about how "that's the way we make them here" or something to that effect, and basically dismissed my comment. Attitude? Yeah, not so much. - 2.5 stars. All in, we both felt like we should have driven the extra 15 minutes and gone to either Richland location. My bad. That's on me. - ZERO stars for my poor decision. Lesson learned. - All in - a 3 star average. read more

Wow! We came here over the weekend while visiting for a Band competition. This place feels bougie and has an incredible salad bar! The view of the Columbia River sets the tone, and the servers are friendly. The menu is HUGE, so be prepared to take your time. Vast salad bar options including four varieties of soup. Chicken noodle soup was very good. Salad bar options were really vast and vegetables were fresh and not dried out. Restaurant is nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Family friendly atmosphere. Menu has a nice diverse range of options. We went for lunch and mainly had salad bar which was great! Came for our morning office meeting group of 7. Took a very long time to get our food, we got our table and ordered around 8:15, got our food around 9:10. We only had 20mins to eat before we had to be at work. Didn't get checked on more then once. Large dinning room, tables and booths available. Bathrooms nice and clean. Finally decided to try it after living here for almost 7 years. Will not go back. Very overpriced "diner" food. I ordered the 1lb of clams, which was about 2 oz of actual food. Overcooked, smallest clams I've ever had. Bread was ok and edible. Taco salad was ordered for the second guest and not much to it, served in a taco bowl plus a load of Costco tortilla chips on the side (why?). One coctail was ok. Came to $57. This is a comfortable retro feel restaurant with classic American style food. Excellent wait staff and tasty food. I enjoyed the broiled chicken cordon blue. Not breaded as expected but preferred the way served, a roasted breast with ham smothered in cheese over rice. A tasty side of broccoli and roll. Good flavor and filling. So I eat at Sterling's every single day. The last few months I've noticed the coffee cups getting a little dirtier and a little dirtier and then being really fucking dirty and when I say something about it, the waitresses treat me like I'm just being picky right the cups are stained. But you can clearly lick a napkin and clean them out nice and shiny perfectly new. One day I show up and the cups are miraculously shining. I asked the waitress what's going on. The cups are usually very dirty. She says to me that they've found out that the washing machine has been out of detergent probably for the last 3 to 6 months I'm sure. Obviously somebody's not doing quality control. Just a word to The wise check your stuff. Just seems like the people working there are more concerned about getting dressed fancy dresses, instead of checking to make sure that customers are happy read more

We have been to Sterling's four or five times, I would give it a solid three out of five stars. The service has been consistently good. There is a huge menu (think of Cafe Tropical on Schitt's Creek) of options. There is also a large salad bar with a good variety of soups available. The food is decent. Everything I've tried (burgers, stuffed baked potatoes, club sandwich, salad and breakfast) has been good but nothing with a huge "wow" factor. read more

This place really surprised me. It "feels" a bit like a 1970s diner (with booths, ketchup on the table, and a salad bar), but the food is far better. They have an enormous menu, but I wanted a steak. I ordered the mushroom steak (with creamed mushrooms and mashed potatoes). It came with a large loaf of bread, a salad (or one of six soups), and broccoli. I was pretty sure the steak would be tough, but it was lean, tender, and delicious, and cooked medium rare, just as I ordered it. Everything was delicious, and the portions--enough for dinner and two lunches. They have a large drinks menu. The service was very attentive. And the entire meal was $30. I will definitely be back. This would be a great place for a family or large group. There's nothing exotic on the menu, but they execute comfort food very, very well. read more

my sister took family to airport early this am. Looking for a restaurant open at 6:00 stopped at sterlings.order food to go.I have been wanting chicken fried steak for a while. She got home and the steak was like a pre made that they deep fried .most likely frozen with terrible gravey.20.00$ You would think it would taste much better than it was.If anyone has had kFC weds special that was how the chicken fried steak was just a bit larger. WIDE variety of menu options: ribs, seafood, steak, burgers, sandwiches, salads. The menu is kind of overwhelming. They also tout a large soup and salad bar. Our service was average - mostly okay but I had asked if they carried herbal tea and never heard back. Hmm... Anyways....we ordered baby back ribs, salmon fettuccine, and a jumbo shrimp/cod plate. The baby back ribs were okay...nothing to write home about. The salmon fettuccine was tastier. The shrimp/cod was filling. The side salad looked like it was in a cold case too long or was a tad frozen. It was a bit underwhelming...but okay in a pinch. read more

My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant, since it would be our first Sterling's experience. We were greeted nicely and our server was fantastic. However, the quality of the food was extremely basic. He was dissatisfied with the quantity of his plate, he ordered a cocktail which was dull to say the least, and my rice was completely undercooked-hard. We did enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant though, and might be willing to give this establishment another try, but for these prices, I would much rather dine at LuLu's. read more

We have enjoyed eating at all three Sterling's for decades. We unfortunately have been disappointed the last three times we have visited the Clearwater location. Cold overcooked lobster tail, sirloin burger loaded with grissel and inattentive wait staff make for an unpleasant, expensive dining experience. Weirdest gawddamned "crepes" I've ever had in my life. They were bright yellow, dense and "eggy". Everything that SHOULD have been inside of the "crepe" was in little plastic cups on the side. Nowhere in the description did it say deconstructed (which some places do to seem edgeyor whatever). I'd ordered the strawberry and the strawberries came in a pie filling like glaze, the cream cheese had a weird consistency like they had added cottage cheese and the whipped cream wasn't real but some gross whipped topping nonsense. I ordered 2 sausage pattys and eggs over easy on the side and at least those were cooked properly and seasoned well. My friend's breakfast (in her words) "nothing special". This place seems to want to be bougie but the come off as a Shari's trying too hard. Also paying at the hostess counter is so 1970s and took forever as there was only one person ringing up checks at the front and a bunch of boomers trying to figure out those "durn new fangled debit/charge machines". I half expected this one old dude to pull out a check book. So I get weird mediocre food AND have to wait to pay for this lackluster b.s.? Oooooo forget it, miss me with that sh#t. Driving through from out of town, I ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with an "add on" salad. My wife ordered the butcher's choice steak with baked potato. Her steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Lacked in seasoning but the tenderness made up for it. My fettuccine noodles were way over cooked and were mushy. My Alfredo sauce was soupy with NO flavor. I don't even think they used 1 clove of garlic. I ate the chicken out of my Alfredo and a few bites of the pasta. Salad bar was good. Lots of choices. I will never eat here again. Definitely a local fave. I have never been here, nor have I done much research on Yelp. So when you are in the Tri Cities - and look up lunch on Yelp - you will find Sterling's. I have only been for lunch. When I walked in the nicest tall guy greeted us, told me he loved my Yelp hair and asked me about my day and since I talk a lot we stood there for quite a while. BIGGEST. MENU. I. HAVE. EVER. SEEN. It's like 4 pages. Have you seen Schitts Creek? Their menu is hilariously large and this reminds me of it. I love the options, but then again I didn't love how many options I had, but I did love the options....ugh as indecisive as I am, especially when I'm hungry...geeeez. I ordered the burger and fries and the soup and salad bar. THAT SOUP AND SALAD BAR IF FIRE FIRE FIRE. There are so many options and it's unlimited and I think that is CRAZY. I tried the tomato bisque, the veggie, the chicken and rice and all things salad and was almost too full when my HUGE burger meal was delivered. Super great food, here is the service: it took forever to get waters, it took forever to get lemonade, it took forever to get the fry sauces. I can't speak highly enough of Sterling's restaurant and the way they treat veterans. This is the only restaurant I've heard of an entire United States them allowing you to pick from their entire menu as well as cover the cost of your drink all included to show there thanks for the men and women who serve the United States. The food here is amazing on its own and the atmosphere is high-quality and they are always personal and always making sure to help you throughout your meal. I highly recommend any veteran man or woman to attend Sterlings restaurant on Veterans Day every year to show them that you're thankful that they are thankful because he will never be treated better buy any other restaurant A+++ read more

The service was pretty good and quick. The food was really tasty. But the place itself was not in the best conditions. The floor was dirty and had wrappers of toothpicks and sugar. The silverware didn't seem well washed, they just didn't look very clean. And I found four very small insects. In my napkin with the silverware, which I had to kill and ask them to replace my silverware. Also, the restroom wasn't very clean either, there was toilet paper over the floor on the stalls. read more
