Was in town for business and was so glad to find this local coffee shop! They even have drive through. Inside is cozy and cute and the staff was so friendly! I went three days in a row. I always get the vanilla latte with oak milk (add extra shot) one day I had the lemon vanilla latte (very slight hint of lemon, so good). The coffee bean is great. Delicious!!! For breakfast I had the bacon avocado toast with a fried egg on top! So fresh and delicious, what's not to love when you add bacon to it!!! Highly recommend it if your in town. read more

I love Indaba's coffee. But also love their vibe- very positive and welcoming. You just want to meet a friend here. Have gotten many drinks but most recently got an unsweetened matcha latte with oat milk. So good. Not sweet at all. They're not the cheapest coffee shop around but the quality is really high. Just here to update my previous review, which was for the previous coffee shop and previous owners. My friend and I head to the Tri Cities a few times a year, she is in Portland and I am in Spokane. So when we meet it is a rare occasion and we like to pack our days doing fun things that give us all the good vibes. Indaba is a local favorite of mine in Spokane and I mean I have been to events, eaten all the toast and picked my favorite coffee drinks over the years. They have some incredible staff and they really embody their motto, "love people, love coffee." The coffee shop is spacious, brightly lit and has some amazing decor. Always loving the plants that they have in this space too! There were people working and gathering and it was so homey. I ordered a vanilla hemp lattee and it was divine. I love that they carry hemp milk for us divas, okayyyyy. I will be back and I am so happy to have a piece of home in Tri-Cities! read more

Really like the vibe of this place. It is upscale, hip and serves some mean coffee. I have had mixed experiences with some of the smaller coffee shops being a bit bland coffee wise. I am one of those that likes just black coffee and this place is one of the best. I have been a few times and always greeted with a smile and a helpful attitude. I usually go with a doppio or a pour over, with the occasional flat white. I do wish they had more food options...I am not a fan of avocado toast, especially in the early afternoon. So far, i have managed to avoid the rush, but could see with the process this being a challenge timewise. read more

On my first visit here, the Cafe Miel caught my eye and I never looked at anything else since. It's a latte with honey, vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom. I'd always get it iced with oat milk. This place reminds me of the locally owned coffee places in Phoenix that are part of the hipster hangouts except that in Phoenix, I've never seen "hemp" as one of the milk alternatives for a latte. I know that this is Washington state, but I was so shocked with the hemp option, that I forgot to order my taste test coffee, an Americano, for all new-to-me coffee places. Instead, I ordered a caramel vanilla latte (with regular milk), which the barista said is popular with the caramel macchiato crowd. I asked if it would have an overly sugary taste, and he assured me that it would be perfectly balanced, and it was. Baristas here are just as hipster as the Phoenix baristas. I drank my latte in a stay-here ceramic cup, which was very civilized, and as I sat down to enjoy my drink with the hubby, we were quickly searching on our phones for what exactly and how exactly hemp "milk" is made. Location is great if you are shopping nearby at the Columbia Center Mall or Costco. I'll definitely be back. I have to try an Americano and at least a latte with almond milk. read more

My two favorite coffee shops in the Tri-Cities are this and "Flying X". Flying X in West Richland is gone, but I was so happy to see the owner at The Local behind the counter. The quality of the espresso and the baristas here is top notch. I love their cardamon vanilla latte. Was really happy they were able to continue drive-thru service with the pandemic. They also have these awesome takeout coffee 'jugs'. I haven't tried them yet, but am really excited to try it. Everyone that works at the Local is really friendly and knowledgeable. I've only been to a couple of coffeeshops around the Tricities area but this one is by far my favorite. The staff are super sweet without being "too much" and the layout of the place is simple and homey. There's enough seating but not enough nearby outlets. They use Victrola with a good variety of different roasts - you can always ask for recommendations on what flavor profiles you prefer. I'm a nuttier dark roast type of gal. Their pour over is my favorite and they have (bless my heart!) Chemex as well. + Good selection of teas if you've had too much caffeine for the day and want something warm and less jittery for Fall. They don't post prices on the board but the prices are definitely appropriate, if not cheap. (compared to Starbucks, it's SOLID) Wifi is on pointe- I was at another shop the other day and their wifi was shit...which defeated my purpose of huddling down for a day of laptop use. ++ for generally good music at a perfect volume Only downside is they don't open late but that seems to be the case for most of the shops around the area. read more

I'm very upset with the way I was treated. They treated me as if I was a total idiot when asking questions about a drink for my 4 year old son. I was not needing anything crazy that you'd order from Dutch bros but I don't need to made feel like an idiot either. I asked if he could have whip cream on it, and she said she didn't know if she had any. You're not even a real coffee house considering you are serving 20 ounce iced drinks. Real coffee houses don't typically go above 16oz due to the coffee/espresso and milk ratio. Anyways, for the simple fact I was treated so poorly for asking questions for my three year old son...I will not support this place any further. read more

They consistently have great food and drinks. I've gotten teas and coffees and they always taste great! The lattes don't disappoint and I recommend the chamomile iced tea for a refreshing beverage. This place has a really relaxed feel to it, and everything from the music to the interior reflects that. The service is amazing too! So so lucky we have The Local in Tri-Cities. This is the perfect place you look for when you want to: 1. Chillax with a nice cup of tea/coffee and read a book or study in peace while sunk in their relaxing big chairs. 2. Meet up with a friend and chat till the cows come home or until they kick you out. Actually, they're so nice that they won't even tell you when you've been sitting there 30 mins past closing time. Oops, guilty! 3. Support a local coffee shop and not give all your money to Starbucks. It's okay to give some but let's spread our wealth to other coffeeshops. ;-) 4. THE BEST SOY CHAI TEA!!! Creamy, rich and flavorful but not too sweet. To top it off, the staff there are amazing. They're attentive and friendly but will leave you alone to do as you please. I stopped in for breakfast and a latte and was pleasantly surprised by the inside of the shop given it's humble exterior. It was so cute inside and I loved all the little details! I tried a melia latte--cardamom and vanilla--and it was so delicious. Did not disappoint! The Victrola coffee they serve is great. I also ordered a blueberry galette, freshly baked, though I wished I wasn't in a hurry and had time to get the avocado toast. Loved this coffee shop, it's located only a few spots down from Graze. Finally the Tri-Cities is making strides in the right direction pertaining to coffee. Walked in and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman, since it was our first time, the gentleman told me to order their American with honey, excellent choice I must vouch for! Great beans, nicely balanced drink from start to finish. On top of that the drink was piping hot which is awesome and should be a standard in coffee shops. Wife got their holiday version of the pumpkin spice latte which I enjoyed as well. He referred both great quality drink which I was very pleased for. To connect to their Wifi is slightly a nuisance since you have to ask the baristas for the password which is :::BUYSOMECOFFEE::: lol thank me later! I always try to help out the local economy and I usually find that the local coffee house offers an opportunity to experience both new coffee flavors and unique decor. On a whim we decided that The Local sounded interesting and looked like it deserved a visit. The decor is clean and open. There are a number of tables and chairs that will accommodate about 20-30 patrons. There is also outdoor seating. The coffee is served in mugs if you choose to stay and mix with the regulars. They have the usual variety of espresso drinks with one rare option-you can have your coffee made with hemp milk. Is this another fad or is hemp milk actually more healthy than cow's milk? We arrived in the middle of the afternoon so if food is served here we missed it. There were a few pastries left on the counter so, had I been hungry, I would not have starved. The coffee flavor was smooth. There was very little bite to my vanilla latte. Depending on how you like your coffee will make you choose between smooth, here, and Starbucks, where the coffee has more bite. A nice place, worth another visit. read more
