We decided to dine at Sofrito Latin Cafe while vacationing in the Lake Buena Vista area. We're so glad we did! Our dinner was delicious. The Roast Pork dinner and Cuban sandwich were hot and tasty. We enjoyed Cuban coffee, Tres Leche and made-to-order churros for dessert. We definitely will return to Sofrito Latin Cafe next time we're in the area. read more

I was craving a Cuban sandwich and I found exactly what I needed here. Tried another place locally with good reviews and the sandwich flat out was trash. So I came here for redemption and I got it. This place knocked it out of the part. I got a Cuban, empanada and cafe con leche and holy hell it was absolutely perfect. Service was top notch as well. Friendly and super professional staff. Some places on yelp deserve more than 5 stars and this place is one of them. Excellent job guys! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Cuban sandwich - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

The Atmosphere is chic and inviting. The Venezuelan Beef Empanada are a must try! Order for yourself at kiosk or with hostess for recommendations. Cafeteria style dining! read more

One of our usual places To bring friends and family visiting but today was a huge let down, not because of food or ambiance but because of service. My sister in law ordered the Nutella empanada for dessert but it never came out until about 15/20 mins after we finished our food. So when she went to see where it was they said she never ordered it and made it seem like she was asking for the keys to the safe. So she was feed up and ordered another one, since her daughter really wanted it. She found her original receipt and showed them she did order and was charged for the original at the beginning. While we live in Orlando we will probably be back but it might be a while until we bring new faces to try to avoid embarrassment over a $2 empanada. After spending over $140.00 just on entrees. read more

My issue is not with food, ran in on my way home from Orlando, 3 hours away. Placed an order to go, man working the order desk was LOST, completely. Ordered 4 empanadas with 4 extra sauces, took 10 minutes to place my order. Paid for the extra sauces and I received 4 random sauces. I looked inside the bag and saw several sauce containers, didn't realize I needed to completely examine them to make sure the sauce that came with them was what I was receiving. Very disappointed! read more

The food here is still pretty good as ever, but portion sizes have decreased while prices have increased which is, I suppose, a sign of the times. One of our favorite entrees used to come with a delicious side salad but no more. A side of habanero sauce used to be at the tables, but will now cost you $2. I can overlook all of this, but the service has consistently gotten worse over recent visits whereas before they were so kind it made you want to order more and return. We asked for a second plate while dining today and were met with a sigh and the plate never came. When we asked for a to go box at the end of the meal, we were met with another sigh and after 10 min went to the front to secure the box ourselves. I understand this is a counter service restaurant, but when paying 20% tip, I would hope for better service or at least communication to request these items at the front of the restaurant. Again, great food, but sad to see the decline in service coupled with the increase in price/decrease in portions. read more

one of the best latin restaurants in Orlando! they are clean fast and delicious. it tastes authentic to the places I've gone to back home in New York. read more

Omg I can't believe I have FINALLY tried this place out! At first the prices seem to be a bit high but that is because you get a colossal amount of food! Geez!! I did not know the portion was a lot! I definitely thank the Yelp Gods for letting me come here hungry! Otherwise, I would've taken a doggy bag home. So, they serve different plates from different Latin countries. I got the pernil (Cubano) and being from Miami, I always get anything cuban cuisine so that I feel at home. The pernil, roasted pork, was delicious don't get me wrong but it was not really cuban. I would say more puerto rican lol the yuca with mojo and tostones was AMAZING!! It so fresh and delicious and made just right! I was beyond happy and my taste buds were jumping with joy. The food for sure is delicious, fresh and packed with seasoning. Once again, you do get your money's worth with the portion. My husband, puerto rican, was happy with the authentic pan sobao, (puerto rican bread, and loved the freshness of the sweet plantains. My friend ordered the argentina steak and the meat is great quality. That one was normally portioned lol.drinks - the drinks looked amazing and the sangria was perfect. In terms of covid precautions, physical distance is little to none unfortunately. I did not like that a huge family, mask less, was behind me and the kids were walking around. I did like that hand sanitizers were provided. The employees in the back had their mask below their neck. Will I come back? Yes! Did I feel safe? Meh lol Service is ok and employees are nice. read more

Everything here is AMAZING!! From the Pina colada, the empanadas, red snapper, and roast pork y'all... This is a must. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Everything is seasoned to perfection... Everything (that we tried, anyway). The salad was fresh, and the appetizers/entrees were also very fresh. I truly can't say enough positive things about this place. Please go! You won't regret it. Quality review from the bf: "awesome. The bar has been set." read more

Over the span of our 4 day trip to Orlando, we came here twice- one for dinner and the other for breakfast. I just couldn't get enough! The service is excellent. The friendly host greets you and walks you through the menu and ordering process. You take a number and you sit anywhere you'd like. The restaurant is quite spacious and even has an outdoor seating area. The food comes out rather quickly and very hot! Water is self serve however, a waiter brings you a bottle of their house water. Venezuelan empanada - 5/5 OMG THESE WERE SO GOOD. The dough is doughy, slightly sweet, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Seriously, this stuff is good. The cheese filling was my favorite but the chicken filling was tasty as well. Cubano sandwich: 5/5 The sandwich was pressed down, which I didn't expect but the bread was thin and crispy. The meat was savory and paired nicely with the cheese and mustard. Skirt steak- 5/5 The dish was $16 but it included so much food! The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was so tender and soft. The french fries were delicious- slightly salted and crispy. The fried plantains added a sweet side to the dish. Guava Nutella Waffle - 4/5 The waffles were a bit dry. Not the overcooked type of dry but maybe more liquid in the batter would taste better. However, the guava and nutella combo worked so well together. The guava jam is just slightly tarty while the nutella brings a sweet nostalgic taste. Try it if you love guava! Avocado toast - 4/5 The dish was so aesthetic but it lacked avocado. The bread to avocado ratio was definitely off but the bread was delicious. The mixed greens and fresh tomato cherries made the dish light and refreshing. The experience here is unlike any Latin American restaurant I've ever experienced. The food, the dim intimate lighting, the friendly staff, even the very reasonable food prices. We enjoyed most, if not all, the items we ordered. I will definitely be back here next time I come to Orlando. read more

I write this as I walk away from this place. Unfortunately, I found a huge red hair in my sandwich, which is entirely unacceptable. (The server took it away from me so I couldn't take a photo) When I brought this to the attention they told me they would make a full refund. When I'm leaving the manager's or owner's only remedy was to offer a mere 10% discount on the sandwich. This response was completely inadequate for such a serious issue. Food safety and hygiene should be a top priority for any restaurant, and Sofrito Café clearly failed in this regard. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to prevent such incidents in the future. I won't be returning anytime soon and cannot recommend this place based on my experience. read more

This place is located in a small plaza in Lake Buena Vista. It's a nice looking restaurant inside and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu is pretty big with Latin dishes from several countries. My husband got the picadillo beef lunch special which came with white rice, black beans, and maduros. It was so big, it probably would have fed us both for $7. Everything was also very tasty. He also got the Dominican chicken soup which he said was very good as well. I got the pernil sandwich and added boiled yuca and it was delicious. We took a lot of food home. Seating was open and everyone was wearing masks. They serve beer (local drafts and Latin bottles), wine, cocktails, and espresso drinks as well. This is an excellent, tasty, friendly option near Disney that will not hurt your wallet. read more

Came down for the weekend and had to try this place out with all the high reviews. Initially, I wanted the Cuban sandwich but accidently ordered the avocado toast, thinking the Cuban sandwich had the option w avocado. Anyways, the order was to go, and as we opened our order, we were disappointed at first, but when we bite into the avocado toast, it was very tasty despite how simple it was. Husband and I demolished it! We also ordered the two different empanadas and other items as well. The place is clean and quick to order. Every item was in separate bags, which made it quite easy to get to. Definitely will come here again. I didn't give a 5 star only because there's always room for improvement and nothing is ever perfect. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Avocado toast w/out the egg - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

This is a wonderful latin flavor filled spot that I enjoyed going to while in Orlando. Its walking distance from the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista and very close to Disney Springs if you're looking for somewhere to eat outside the busy area. It can get busy but overall it moves pretty fast because when you come in you place your order right away, take a number, and then they bring it to your table. I tried empanadas from Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, and Cuba. All slightly different in their own way. I unfortunately kept confusing which one I liked the best but it came with a delicious sauce similar to mojo. I've tried many cuban sandwiches and this one was not my fave but the pernil sandwich was delicious. They also have agua frescas that tasted so fresh. I had the berry one. The sangria is packed with fruit as well. Lastly, I had the tres leche cake here which besides having way more whipped cream on top than necessary it was exactly how I like my tres leches cake. read more

We went for breakfast during a week at Disney. After several days of paying five star prices for lackluster resort food, our meal at Sofrito was a DELIGHT. We ordered café con leche, Cuban empanadas (one beef one chicken), arepa pernil, and cachapa with pork. Every single one of us finished our plates quickly, and the cachapa eater did one of those "oh my lort so good" eye rolls. The staff was pleasant and the restaurant was clean and well-stocked with condiments. Next time we are back in the area we will have Sofrito on our short list. We will also be recommending this place to friends who are visiting WDW! read more

Best Latin food in Orlando. However get ready to spend some money, it's inexpensive. I recommend the fried fish. Service is pretty good, but is more like a cafeteria. You have to order the food yourself in a computer and then they will bring it to the table. For this alone I think the prices are a bit too high. read more

Good Cuban food. Go everytimr we're in Orlando. Good cafe Cuban. Refreshing with some beans, rice, plantains, and ropa viejo.

I was on a quest to find a good Latin restaurant near our hotel. Therefore, I did a little research on a few restaurants that were within the vicinity. I wanted to go to the best one that had 4-5 star ratings. SOFRITO LATIN CAFE was the one that met my criteria! I begged my family to take me there because they really didn't want to go. They wanted to go to Chick Fil-A instead because they love it there. I really didn't want to go there again because we already went there once on this trip. Ugh! Finally, they gave in. Whew! Thank goodness because I was craving Latin food since we arrived in Orlando. What better place to have this kind of food? Right? You know what I mean? Thank you, family for letting me experience SLC! Here is our experience: ATMOSPHERE: very nice, clean, indoor and patio dining. SERVICE: welcoming and friendly. When you first walk in, grab a menu. Order at the register. They'll give you a table number and sit where you want. They will deliver your meal. If you check in with YELP, they will take off $5.00 from your $30.00 bill. FOOD: VENEZUELAN EMPANADA (fried) we ordered the chicken and it came with a dipping sauce. Ummmm...it was yummy. Especially the sauce that came with it. I started dipping everything else with it. ARGENTINEAN EMPANADA (baked) we ordered the beef. Not sure how it tasted? We waited...waited...and waited and it never came. I asked a server where was our empanada and he told me that they ran out. Why didn't he tell me instead of not saying anything. That's why a four star rating from me. I was very disappointed! He told me to pick a dessert in place of it. Coconut flan was his recommendation. I thought it was okay because it was heavily sweetened. ROAST PORK (Cuba): very tender and tasty. Yum. CHURRASCO (Argentina) grilled skirt steak with a chimichurri sauce. Yummy. SIDES: (each entree comes with a choice of three sides) We ordered the following- YELLOW RICE (Puerto Rico): yummy PLANTAINS (Venezuela): yummy YUCCA (Cuba) boiled. It was okay. No flavor. RED BEANS (Puerto Rico): it was okay. No flavor. CHURROS: lightly seasoned with cinnamon sugar and a heavy drizzle of Nutella on one side and dulce de leche on the other side. Yummy. All in all, my family and I enjoyed our experience here at SOFRITOS LATIN CAFE. I would definitely come back the next time we are in Orlando. So, when you are in the mood for some good Latin food...come here! You'll thank me for that! read more

Almost ate a complimentary continental breakfast at the resort, but felt I deserved something much better after surviving Disney with the kids. Came super hungry for brunch, and left not needing to eat again until tomorrow! Started with a Cubano coffee, then came my passion fruit juice, Pescado Frito (which was prepared to perfection), yellow rice, and very tasty black beans! Also, if you like a little spice in your life, request hot sauce for the table. Don't forget to buy a few bottles to take home with you, because grocery store hot sauce cannot compare! This was the best breakfast my family had in Orlando. I like Latin food and am a pretty adventurous diner, but my family is not. This place was a great compromise- I got beef. eggs, black beans, tostones, empanadas, and Cuban coffee, and my kids still got to have waffles. Portion sizes here are GIANT, so factor that into your plans before you order. Word to the wise - they have a $5 off coupon on Yelp, but you order from a counter as soon as you walk in, so you'll want to check in before you order. We came in at the recommendation of a couple we had met at Disney Springs and I am glad that we did. I asked the server for recommendations and she suggested some items including the roast pork, yellow rice, red beans, and plantains and it was all delicious. My wife chose the Cuban sandwich and it was the best that I have ever tasted. I ordered the coconut flan for desert and I would come here just for this! The flan was creamy and after you are done you get a nice disc of candied sugar as an extra bonus. 100% LEGIT! Food was great. I had the gigantic fish, added a side of chicharrones, and yellow rice. Wife had the chimichurri steak. All excellent. Even better was the service. See, I originally ordered the roasted chicken. But as I was walking to my table, I saw another patron's plate of Pescado Frito and wanted it so bad. After a few mins a kind server stopped by our table and asked if we needed anything. I told her my conundrum. She didn't hesitate at all. Told me, " I got you bro," (but way more formal). Didn't even charge me the difference somehow. Anyway, there were eight of us 3 of which were toddlers. We all loved our experience here. Then on to Magic Kingdom we went! read more

Nice atmosphere, good food and great service, especially the grilled octopus and the flank steak. The music is nice as well.

Let's start with parking, very difficult to find a spot, not much available. Then you walk in and you are greeted by ropes so you can order your food from a screen. No warm hellos or someone there to help you with the process, very confusing. Then when you go pay it ask for a tip?!? Why, so far I had to figure it all out myself! The food came out quickly and hot, perfect. Portions were large and could be share, so two can eat with one, just get an extra side and done. Cafe con leche was on point, sweet but not too sweet. We sat outside since it was a nice day, music was perfect, not too loud, and allowed for great conversation. I gave it 3 stars because it felt impersonal and parking was a pain. May try it again. read more
