Lomo Saltado
Erica C.

5 stars for the lomo saltado - top 2 I've ever had. I love it when they toss the fries with the rest of the dish so that the sauce flavors the fries, but it's not soggy. Beef is tender, so don't worry about that. We didn't try anything else, but I would definitely come back here just for that lomo saltado. The 2 sauces (green and white) they gave complimented the dish perfectly. Waitress was nice. Lots of parking.

Empanadas delicious

Super clean, I came to do a service in the kitchen you can eat in the floor super clean. I would recommend it 100%. I don't give him 100% unless they earned

Happy hour margaritas special with added passion fruit flavor

We wanted to try Pio Pio for a quick bite and as a bonus it was happy hour. The Manager/Bartender was great and attentive. He thanked us for giving them a try since it was our first time stopping in. We ordered small bites to share since i didn't not want to spoil my dinner plans. I gotta tell ya, small bites is where it's at. Not only is it shareable but you get to try different dishes. We had passion fruit margaritas some empanadas and pork chunks. Loved the dipping sauces. Everything came hot and we would have loved to stay and had more food. Definitely next time we will try the octopus as well as one of their steaks. Everything looked so good.

Food was so good and authentic, best taste everrr, the service was Al's perfect the server was so nice and talkative, his name is Juan, and the place was rlly nice, the lighting felt very welcoming, would definitely come back

Seafood cerviche

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious. Service is outstanding. Decor and cleanliness get an A plus. For all you ceviche lovers, this is the best seafood ceviche in town.Trust me, you try it once and you will come back again and again. Trust me. And by the way, you have to have the flan. It is so good and made fresh daily.

Got here around 1600 and only one other patron in the joint...also at the bar as it turns out. Bright and airy but kinda cramped space with a cross between minimalist modern and Peruvian decor. It looks like a misbegotten love child between Old Incan and Bauhaus Moderne. Blech! One other remarkable thing...how NOISY it is in here with obnoxiously loud music playing and bouncing off the bare walls and metal ceiling. Meanwhile, it smells incredibly clean in the restaurant...like the whole place was washed and mopped with bleach water. That even carries with the restroom! Barkeep is Isabella...she spoke so softly in this loud cavernous space I had to ask her to repeat herself every time she said anything. Quite soon after we were seated, she asked if we wanted apps...can we look at the menu please? I think she got the idea because she backed off a little and waited for me to summon her each time thereafter. Once I DID, I ordered skirt steak aka churrasco, while my Queen Bee kept it simple with a quarter roast chicken. Peruvian cuisine is apparently known for roast chicken, so there ya go. She ordered dark , but lo and behold they brought out a breast and a wing, aka white meat. If U look at her plate, you'll see that the wing looked like it belonged to a baby duck rather than a full-grown chicken. Both entrees come with beans and rice along with a choice of ripe or unripe plantains, or cassava. She had "maduros" and I the cassava. The latter came out like steak fries and the former...well: maduros. IYKYK... I can say one thing about everything on both plates...B-L-A-N-D! When the best seasoned item on either plate was a piece of roast chicken breast, you know that it's time to check the salt and pepper supply in the kitchen. Skirt steak came with one of the oddest chimichurri sauces I ever tasted...more like vinegar than olive oil and garlic. Isabella had put down a small ramekin of jalapeño cream sauce and another of what amounts to garlic ranch. At least those had a lil flavor to them. Rice, beans, steak and chicken had no such luck. Honestly I don't know if I'd have tried this joint had it not been so close to our timeshare and didn't have 2-for-1 draft beer. Queen Bee had a glass of Cabernet and even THAT didn't have much flavor or taste. When Isabella asked whether we wanted coffee or dessert, we replied with a resolute "no." Were one to ask if we'd return, we'd reply with exactly THAT too. N-O!!!!

I actually really like Pio Pio in other locations, but even though I live right down the street I haven't returned to this one. First of all, the food is good! And when Pio Pio first opened at other locations you felt like you were getting a really good value for your family to eat. Unfortunately that isn't the case at this location with VERY high tourist area pricing for lower cost foods like rotisserie chicken and plantains. The temp in this location also seems to have issues which is not being helped by their insistence on leaving their front door open in summer to show they are open. As others have mentioned it is loud and service wasn't great even though the restaurant was empty. Fix the prices, the AC and the service and the food will speak for itself and bring people in.

Beef empanadas
Brittany B.

We went here just for a quick drink and an appetizer. The whiskey pineapples were 2 for 1 at 13.99 which was a really good price. The drink was really really good. We decided to try the beef empanadas, which were so mouth watering i wanted more, LOL. They were actually stuffed packed with meat so they don't skimp ya there. Everyone was so nice, and helpful. I will definitely be going back.

My husband had the Peruvian shrimp with yellow rice, salad, and black beans. We were both raving about the taste while eating. They have a range of dishes from across Latin America, and lots of gluten free options. They aren't safe for celiacs though. They use a shared fryer. If you are super sensitive or have celiac, just beware of that. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Conveniently located in the theme parks area near Orlando. You should not miss this restaurant. Try something new if you've never tasted Latin American cuisine, or try it if you've grown up with it. You won't go wrong and you'll likely be back.

You order at a kiosk fast food style, but all of the food is then prepared freshly and authentically. They have a huge menu with all kinds of delicious Latin eats like sandwiches and platters. We absolutely loved our Cuban sammies which came on thick and sweet bread. My kids kept it simple with tenders and fries and also enjoyed! They have a big drink selection and you can find everything from juices to fresh cocktails. The biggest hit was their large indoor screened patio - perfect for my kids to run around. If you want to avoid fast food but also don't feel like taking your kids to a proper sit down restaurant than this is a really great option.

Being part of the parking structure doesn't mean that they validate your parking. If you can find street parking, definitely do that instead. I had the churassco med-well. It came with two sides, I had the tostones and salad. It was alright, but I definitely had better. I ordered it to eat it there and they put all the sauces in to-go containers, which was weird. The sauces were in such tiny containers, you definitely would need more. My friend got the mushroom arepa and a side of the sweet plantains that she really enjoyed. Service was good. The girl taking our order was super nice and polite. It was more like one step up from fast/food and self-served. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table and they bring out the food to the table and you clean up after yourself.

I believe their selection will change from day to day since they hand write their options. The last time I was there they had about 5 different versions. These are fantastic empanadas and ones I will get each and every time I visit Plant Street. My only complaint (and its not even a real compliant) is I wish they had some sides to go with the empanadas, like maybe plantains or a sweet empanada, and then a sauce to dip them in. But besides that I really cannot complain, these are great and very good. The last time my wife and I visit we decided to try 2 and share them. We chose the chicken and cheese as well as the Cuban. Both were really good and super tasty, and both we agreed we would order again. They were crispy for sitting in a warming oven, it was surprising how crispy they were. The chicken and cheese was chopped chicken mixed with some melty cheese. The Cuban was fantastic, and was chopped pork with cheese, a hint of mustard and even had pieces of pickles inside. Their empanadas are also baked, not fried, which I personally prefer. However, it was still crunchy and crispy. My only issue with ordering different ones is they were not labled. She put both in one bag so we had no idea which was which. Not the best for allergy issues or preferences, but we didn't really care, since we were trying both. Overall these are fantastic empanadas. This is a spot I would continue to visit every time I am at Plant Street. I look forward to trying all their different flavors. I highly recommend trying these empanadas next time you are at Plant Street. ACES!

Let me first say, they are absolutely delicious. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because they only sell empanadas and only have a few options. I have been to other empanada places and their options are massive. I would love to see more available here, maybe it's on a rotation, I'm not sure. They also did not have any dips for them. For the two we ordered I think a garlic style dip would have gone well. We decided to try the chicken and cheese as well as the Cuban. Again, they were fantastic! The chicken and cheese was chopped chicken and very good. I did not really taste cheese so it must have been mixed in. The Cuban was fantastic, it had pieces of pickles inside as well. This one would have been great with a mustard type dip to complete the Cuban sandwich flavor. But we would order both again and again. Their empanadas are also baked, not fried. I do prefer a fried but these were good. My only other issue was they were not labeled, she put both in one bag so we did not know which was which. The flavors were similar at first so it was hard to tell. It really was not until we tasted the pickle that we knew which was which. Overall these are fantastic tasting empanadas, and this from someone who prefers them fried. The person working was not the most friendly, and reading other's reviews, they must have had sauces and we were just not offered. We will however, continue to visit ever time we head to Plant Street. It is such a simple dish, easy to carry around Plant Street and just really good. I would recommend checking it out especially when you are at Plant Street.
