This place has the best Latin food. We liked it so much we came back a second time in our week stay in Orlando. This time we had the Pescado Frito and the Petacon with Fried Yuca Al Cilantro Mojo and for dessert we had the Nutella Empanda. The fish was cooked perfectly. The Nutella Empanadas are to die for. You have to come here just for them. We also loved the Roast Pork, which was so juicy and had the best flavor. Basically everything we tried here, we liked. The service is good and the ambiance is very relaxing. Highly recommend eating here. read more

Pretty good food, but inaccurate delivery time. This review is for delivery by Door Dash. We ordered lunch to be delivered to our hotel. The restaurant was less than 2 miles away, and the estimated delivery time was 20-35 minutes. I ordered a couple kids meals, the pernil with black beans and rice, and a Cuban sandwich. The food itself was fine. I wouldn't recommend the chicken tenders (under-seasoned, and arrived soggy), but my daughter really wanted chicken tenders, and they were on the menu. The Cuban sandwich was nicely pressed. The pernil was a huge serving, and everything about it was pretty tasty, if a bit heavy on the cumin. My qualm was the delivery. Door Dash said the restaurant accepted my order and was preparing my food right away. Then they said that the dasher had arrived at the restaurant and was waiting for the food to be prepared about 15-20 minutes after I placed the order, so then I headed down to the lobby to wait for the food. I then proceeded to wait for more than 20 minutes for the status to change to food picked up. So all in all, it was over 40 minutes to get my order. Which isn't bad for delivery, but don't say 20-35 minutes if it's going to be more like 35-50 minutes. You're wasting both my time and the time of the dasher. read more

Close your eyes, take a deep breath, let it out. Feel that relaxation? No? That's because you aren't currently biting into the churrasco here. To say delicious is an understatement. The steak is perfectly cooked. The chimichurri on top, wish they gave me buckets of it. The salad is fresh and crisp. Not sure what the dressing is but it's probably made in heaven. My sides are sweet plantains, yucca al cilantro and papa criolla. This is hands down the best meal I've had while working in Orlando this week. Staff was very nice and helpful with recommendations. The cafe negro gave me life! Can't recommend this place enough. read more

Food was unmatched. I had the cachapa with added chicken. The chicken was a perfect balance with the cheese. Nothing overpowered another. Another person had the churrasco and said it was the best steak she has had in months. Cutely decorated for upcoming Valentine's Day. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Highly recommend read more

Ordered food for takeout and had a Cuban coffee at the bar while I waited. Restaurant is nice looking and clean. Staff was not very friendly. Food was good, but I had better Cuban food. After finishing my coffee is seemed like the bar tender purposely avoided looking at me. I was just waiting to get her to look over so I could pay. Staff decided to have conversations in Spanish about 2 ft away from me since I was at the end of the bar. Thought that was a little rude. read more

This place is amazing! It's a cool take out or eat in place that you order your food at the register, pay and then wait at a table for your food. They have great items like skirt steak, Spanish potatoes, stewed pulled beef, roasted chicken; and favs like rice and beans and plantains. I had a mango margarita without salt and it was amazing! I would literally eat here every night that is how good the food is! read more

I think I've found my one stop shop for all my Latin food cravings! From their croquetas to the pernil sandwiches to the churrasco, this place has it all! I absolutely love this place and the idea of how they incorporated so many Latin American food cuisines under one roof. Wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ordered the pernil sandwich. This was my fave because the seasoning was perfect and the bread was so soft. The churrasco platter is pretty big. It comes with tostones, rice, beans and salad. The ham & cheese croquetas and shredded beef empanadas are a nice way to start if you're wanting any appetizers. Coconut flan is small but after eating all that food, it's the right size. Overall the price isn't too bad ($3-$20 range) If you check in you get $5 off your meal so be sure to check in! read more

On a girls road trip to crash a few yards sales and scoop up some leftover treasures. Let me tell you, that will work up an appetite! We were hungry for something different and unique to the area. Found this spot and hadn't had latin food in FOREVER plus great reviews, we were IN! We order a craft of Red Sangria to share. Delicious. Sweet but not too sweet. Flavorful and refreshing. I ordered the Churrasco with sweet plantains, black beans and tostones. The steak was delicious and chimmichurri was so good. The plantains were cooked well and the tostones were good (could use a little salt). Black beans tasted out of a can so not going to rave on those. Over all it was pretty good. I would eat here again for sure. read more

Went around afternoon to get some bites, we were really hungry, the beer was cold, the food came super fast and the service was friendly, the flavors were there, I still dream about having another patacon. it looks like a place I would go for a good breakfast. The only downside is that there is not enough parking in the front of the building and had to wait for another customer to leave the premises. read more

What a fun cafe!! I didn't know what to expect when we walked in and was pleasantly surprised! You order when you walk in and the owner helped us choose some excellent items from their menu. The pork plate was a huge hit with our party and was so extremely flavorful. I was between an arepa and the burger and the owner steered me toward the burger. I was not disappointed!!! It was a fantastic mix of flavors and textures with a juicy burger right in the middle that I would definitely get again! To top it off, we got margaritas (very strong FYI!) and delicious tres leches cake. Both so good! This is right off I drive but felt so tucked away. The patio was warm and inviting and it was quiet and away from traffic of the area. Definitely a delightful place to sit and enjoy some delicious food. We will be back! read more

Your typical Latin cafe, it's a good spot to hit up when vacationing in the area. Sofrito Latin Cafe is where we go to get our Cafe con Leche when were on vacation, even if its just to pick-up (they have online ordering now thanks to COVID too). Good Cuban bread and guava pastries, good coffee. I have places like this all over Tampa and Miami that I frequent, Sofrito isn't above or below them, but just the standard I expect. Recommend if this is your thing! read more

Ok, fast food type of mindset, but way above and beyond. Latin cuisine with heavy Venezuelan influences. Absolutely fantastic. My skeptical son in law even loved it. You have to check them out. Close to Disney Springs but in an area that typically has awful fast food or chain junk food choices. Be sure to stop in. Excellent service and fantastic food. read more

Sofrita Latin Cafe is so beautiful with the exterior, interior, and outdoor seating design. It was our first time here and the service was amazing! We walked in and we're welcome and accommodated right away. You order your food at the register and they provide you with a number to be seated. Like a fast food service. My boyfriend and I ordered the Columbian chicken empanada and I preferred an iced latte. Empanada are 5/5 and the coffee is a 5/5! Wish I had a spot like this back home. Definitely booking marking this spot to come back when we're back in Orlando Florida. Wonderful experience and food! Can't wait to come back to try more from the menu and to try the Lomo Saltado!! read more

It was up graded fast food restaurant. You order at the counter first and pay. You sit down at anywhere you want, and they will bring your food. My roast chicken was delicious! So, we're New Yorkers and we have dined at Sofrito's there. This is not the same venue. Initially we thought so. However, this is Sofrito's Latin Cafe. Nonetheless, the food was great, I had the pernil (roast pork), yellow rice, red beans. My hubby had the same but had beef empandas. His comment was that the beef is shredded rather than ground. He does prefer the ground beef but the empanda was still flavorful. The staff is great and super friendly. The drinks are ok...I think that has to do with the type of liquor used, i.e. no Barcadi Gold for a Cuba Libre. It's a different type of rum that my husband wasn't used to. Again, I'd like to stress the great attitudes and service of the staff. You guys rock, keep up thr great work! read more

Been here before; still as good as I remember. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, and fresh. I had the churrasco and my wife had an arepa with a side of maduros. Food was prepared quickly and looked so appetizing I honestly forgot to take a picture for the review. The Latin American ambiance was cozy and the music was great without being loud enough to affect the volume of conversations. Reminded me of when my family would have friends over for a get together and meal when I was younger. The crew was friendly and helpful. Happy to help me with questions. I will point out that the restaurant is partially self service. You can either order at a kiosk or at the entrance where there is a register, then the food and cups will be brought to whatever table you seat yourself at. You will have to get your own refills. Not a big deal to me but some people don't realize this and just walk in expecting a waitress to take their order at the table. Looking forward to coming back in future Orlando trips! read more

I like this place a lot! It's sorta quick service, which I find convenient! I always get their empanadas, but it's a yay or nay as sometimes it feels a bit overcooked. I have tried their white rice and black beans (Cuban) and steak and have really liked that as well. I have had their mimosas and they're always strong so I cannot complain. Their Cubano and Medianoche sandwich are fire! It's located near disney springs so I enjoy this area. read more

I stayed at the Hyatt Place near Disney and this restaurant was just across the street. So I just crossed the street to try this place out and it turned out to be an amazing place. I ordered a variety of Cuban foods from their empanadas, ham croquettes to their recommended roast pork dish and to finish it off with a coconut flan and their Cuban coffee (cortadito). It was a perfect lunch, the food was on point and you can order the desert when you order your meal and they can hold it off and give it to you after you finish your main meal. The fact that they do that, it made me able to enjoy a hot coffee with a nice cool desert. read more

We came by after staying in the area. We were looking for some cafe con leche and Yelp led us here. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to you. We had a bit of a miscommunication about the brown sugar I wanted and not the brown packages of raw sugar. It was still very good and did not need any sugar. The service was pretty quick as it was a week day. I was disappointed in the cuban toast, it was not true cuban bread like we are used to. The empanada was very good but a bit salty for our taste. Overall a fair breakfast. read more

Had lunch here and it was SO good that I decided to order their catering for our group. I was coaching a volleyball tournament and my team was in Orlando from California. Felix was the manager that helped me. He had me place the order through their website, but we spoke several times on the details. He personally delivered our food, and his service was excellent through the whole experience. Highly recommend for both a personal meal and for catering. I convinced my sister to eat here after having Sofrito Latin Cafe on my list of bookmarks for a while. I had just eaten Colombian food the week before and was pretty excited to see how it compared to my previous meal, especially with the high ratings. You order at the counter and they will bring you your meal based on the number they give you. We ordered some empanadas (Cuban, Venezuelan and Colombian) and the churrasco (steak chimichurri) to share. The empanadas are pretty and mostly tasty. I found the shredded meat empanadas to be a little dry and needed all the sauce they could get. The churrasco was fine. Nothing too special but filling. I preferred the fries over the steak, though. Not a huge fan of the yellow rice, and I usually love seasoned yellow rice. We also ordered a tres Leches for dessert, which looked like a little flan pudding on first glance. However, inside was a moist tres Leches cake. However, it wasn't anything special and the whipped cream was a bit much. Overall, Sofrito Latin Cafe is a pretty cheap option in the touristy Lake Buena Vista area. I may give the empanadas another go next time, or maybe to try the cachapas or arepas that I've seen so many pictures of on Yelp and social media. read more

I'm not an expert when it comes to Latin or Cuban food, but this was one of my favorite spots to eat at in Orlando! They have many varieties of empanadas, which I had no idea there are so different. Cuban empanadas I believe are most common, they are deep fried and made with wheat flour, Venezuelan empanadas which became my favorite is made with sweet fried corn flour dough, and last is Colombian empanada which is also made with fried corn flour and usually has meat and potato filling. They also have meals such as polla a la plan ha, which is garlic marinated chicken, you can get with a side of beans, rice and salad. I recommend the Puerto Rican yellow rice with a side of Cuban black beans! Pair it with some sweet plantains and empanadas, it's the perfect meal . read more

I reviewed Sofrito in January 2017 - my review stands and I'll just say I can't get enough of the Roast Pork meal - it's delicious and you get 3 sides and a salad for under $10! I went to pick up my order on Sunday night and the restaurant was very busy. Didn't realize they have a patio and there is free parking in the lot. Service is friendly and the food comes out fairly fast. I think the menu keeps expanding and given the reviews and interest in good, quality Latin food, I can see why. If you visit Orlando, I think you have to check out Sofrito - maybe next time I'll eat at the restaurant and get some drinks! If you need more details, take a look at my pictures and my review from January 2017 - there's not much more to say about this place, it's a MUST visit every time I'm in Orlando and anywhere remotely in the area. read more

WOW! I was asked by a friend to find some local Cuban food. This was the number two recommended by Yelp in the Orlando area, and my heavens it did not disappoint. The food was by far some of the best Cuban food I have ever had. The portions sizes were great, the service was top-notch, the restaurant was super clean, and the food was delicious. Something that was helpful to know, is that you order when you walk in and then find seating. The servers don't speak the best English, but still were super accommodating. There is limited parking so you may have to park a little way down. It is at the end of a strip mall. I recommend the fried plantains for an appetizer, the cachapa with roast beef for your entree, and a Nutella empanada for dessert. If you check in on yelp beforehand you get $5 off of $30 (thank you yelp)!!!! read more

Fusion type Latin food ordered through kiosk, essentially its fast food with sit down style restaurant prices. Unimpressed with service and quality. Food not cooked as requested and I found it bland. They could do better, place does have potential but the execution is lacking. read more

Wow! I was not expecting the food to be as excellent as it was! This restaurant is beautiful inside! It is a nice quick service style, where you order then the food comes to your table. The one down side was that the menu is a bit difficult to understand because of the way it is presented. However, the lovely cashier was able to explain the different options and recommended some of her favorites. First, I highly recommend choosing the sides before the main course! I absolutely loved the plantains and the yuka. Both were perfectly cooked and tasted incredible. Unfortunately, I wasn't in love with the tostones, they seemed very mediocre, especially compared to the other sides. The main courses were also excellent. In hindsight, I would take the beef again, over the chicken. There was nothing wrong with the chicken, but the beef had a huge flavor explosion and the chicken wasn't as exciting. Overall, I can't wait to go back and explore this diamond! read more
