Excellent choice for quality Latin restaurant. The service was very good and friendly. Our group enjoyed the Pescado Frito, steak Arepas, and shredded beef Patacon. We would easily return to the Sofrito Latin Cafe! read more

We were in town for the weekend, and looking for a good breakfast spot that was unique. Being big fans of latin food, we thought we would give Sofrito a shot, and were not disappointed. When we pulled up, there was limited parking and a line, which is actually a good sign to me. Id rather go to a place that is popular than an empty spot. It is a setup where you order at the counter, get a number, grab a table (indoor or outdoor), and they bring your order to you. They were prompt with the coffee drinks, and the food was not far behind. There is a decent amount of seating, but it isn't a huge place. Even with a line to the door, we were able to find a table without waiting. Everything was prepared well, tasted good, and was well-priced. We both enjoyed our coffees and breakfasts, and would definitely come back. They have a good amount of authetnic latin dishes, as well as some interesting vegetarian options. Everyone in the group was able to find something, and was happy with their order. If you are a fan of latin and South American breakfast foods, give Sofrito a shot. We'll surely be back. read more

Place was solid for Latin cuisine. Had a little bit of everything, Cuban, Puerto Rican and, columbian food. Parking and ordering could be better (no service staff) read more

Found this little gem near our hotel. I wasn't too sure how authentic it would be since we were no longer in the Miami area, but let me tell you it was savory and they have great staff! As soon as we walked in, the customer places their order. The gentleman at the cashier asked us if it was our first time and if we needed help with the menu. He made some recommendations and said if we had any further questions to let him know. My husband ordered the cubano sandwich and added an order of potatoes. I ordered a shrimp plate (can't remember the name) but it comes with a salad and three sides. I got the sweet plantains, black beans, and yellow rice. Their seating set up is very nice. You can sit inside or out. Once we received our foods, well we weren't disappointed. I grew up eating Puerto Rican food and my plate was delicious. The only thing I missed in the yellow rice was the little black beans I've normally had in the rice. (But maybe I ordered the wrong rice, just double check.) My husband said his Cubano was very savory as well compared to many others he recently had. I'm sure any menu item you pick, it will be superb. The server was very nice once they brought our food. Also, they have these house made salsas on their tables, which are so good. But caution when pouring, a lot can come out. My favorite was the habanero. That was super delicious but SPICY! Overall, if you are in the area, this is a must try. Beats fast food locations and their prices weren't too bad, especially for the quality. Enjoy! read more

The food here was everything I dreamed it would be- I read a bunch of reviews before coming but was still a little nervous being my mother and grandmother here. I was reimpressed assed by the variety and the value. It's hard to even say what was the best part because all the food was delicious. We also had a fun time talking about where the various food items were from and our memories of traveling to those places. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was my margarita- it tasted like sone one had dumped a salt shaker in it. I definitely should have asked for a new one but I'm conflict averse. I will say that I picked the margarita mostly because we weren't shown a drink menu. Maybe we did it wrong but when we tried to order them at the same time as the food we weren't shown a drink menu. read more

Every time I'm in the area, this is a MUST stop. I've been visiting once a year since 2018, and it's been consistently delicious and drool worthy. The empanadas are out of this world. The service is quick, and the atmosphere is perfectly casual. This last time I went, I brought my husband and four small children with me, and it was the perfect restaurant for my kids. I got to order my favorite, the churrasco with a side of tostones and a side of sweet plantains, and the kiddos devoured a kids meal of grilled chicken and French fries (usually they never eat at restaurants, but they LOVED this!). We ate in the outdoor space, and it was beautiful and allowed the kids to be able to have more space! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I can't wait to try more things off the menu! read more

Overall - Great food at a counter order/quick service restaurant, the folks at the counter cost a higher score. Food - This is a Latin restaurant in the most eclectic way, they have a few staples from several countries, a "what is what" if you will of Latin food. The flavors are spot on which is impressive for such a wide selection of options where different seasonings are used. For appetizers we ordered basically every type of empanada and they were all really good, my favorites were the Argentinian beef and Cuban chicken. To drink the Pina colada was standard, you will not be disappointed. For the entrees I ordered the Cachapa since I've never eaten it, it was presented well and tasted as good as it looked. At the table we also ordered the Churrasco which was one of the best tasting steaks I have had in a while and the Camarones al ajillo which I was told was really good. Service - the staff at the order counter messed up my order which dropped the score, if you can't take my order and I need to come back up a second time that is not a good thing. There were 2 issues, mixing up meal sides with table sides and omitting items. Because there is no table service this really dinged the experience. Location - This restaurant is conveniently located off Apopka Vineland near Disney Springs. The parking lot is small but suffices since the strip mall is not that large. Ambiance - The feel is that of a table service restaurant with what looks to be a full bar. Basic layout with both large indoor and a outdoor seating. There is little in the way of decor in this basic interior, basic is a good way though. read more

I reallyyyy wanted to give a high rating as I love lomo saltado and churrasco but overall, the food was way too salty and we found some pricetag? Looking paper lodged between the meat. I would've brought it to an employee's attention but we were almost done with the meal and so exhausted from Disney. I also LOVE a good guava cheese pastry (portos anyone??) but their dough was so cakey and not enough guava and overall tasted so artificial and unfresh...it was such a disappointment as i wanted to like this place. I was also annoyed that they had a $5 off $30 if you check in so make sure you utilize it! Sad to see that it had so many high reviews but it was all just fluff. read more

It has been four years since we've been to Florida and I've been dreaming of our time living in Soflo and the endless Cuban bakeries. Sofrito isn't a Cuban bakery specifically, but it sure did satisfy the craving. The croquettes and the cachido were delicious and the cafe con leche was just right. This is a quick casual restaurant. You can order on the computer or with the staff. You get a number for your table and you grab whatever utensils, napkins etc you might need. Amazing latin food can be found at Sofrito. On a recent trip to Orlando, I visited this joint twice because not only was it close to my hotel, it was delicious! I've tried these items: 1) Breakfast: B.E.C. - Applewood bacon, two scrambled eggs & Swiss cheese on Cuban bread 2) Dinner: Churrasco - Grilled skirt steak topped with chimichurri sauce Everything was great and I recommend both of these items. I think Sofrito Latin Cafe is a great place to grab a bite before heading to one of theme parks because it's open real early (7:00AM)! read more

Awesome! We had a few different empanadas (Cuban and Colombian). Each we excellent! The fried cheese w/ garlic sauce was yummy. I would go back today and try more, but we had to head back home to Chicagoland. I'm jealous of the locals who have Sofrito as an option every day! read more

I'm so glad I got to try this place out before catching my flight because now I can't wait till I get to come back! You order at the counter and then take a number. I ordered the pollo a la brasa which came with 3 sides and a salad. I chose yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. First off, the portions are huge! I actually took my leftovers to go and ate it at the airport. Everything was seasoned to perfection. There were 3 types of hot sauce at our table. My favorite one was the spiciest one as it added such a nice kick! But beware, it was pretty spicy but I like my food spicy. Give this place a try! I highly recommend it. The staff was friendly. There was no wait but I also came in the late afternoon on a weekday. read more

Roast. Pork. Sofrito is a classy Latin restaurant with an inviting menu. Many Latin/puerto rican restaurants make it challenging for us non-Spanish speakers to order, but Sofrito has their menu nicely laid out, making it a breeze for your eyes to begin the gastronomic juices flowing. We ordered the roast pork and the plancha chicken. Both plates were more than a normal human should eat and at a very reasonable price. Beautiful dishes arrive to the table. The salivary glands start rolling... The pork. The wonderful, delicate, flavorful and seemingly never-ending pork. Every bite is tendor and pairs beautifully with the yellow rice or plantains or tostones... the list goes on. The pollo a la plancha was itself delicious, but the pork. That was superb. Highly recommend over other franchise options in its close proximity. read more

Ordered directly on the Sofrito website and picked up in person. Meals were ready very quickly. Both of the lunch specials (Chicken Milanese and Picadillo) were very good, as were the pork and Cuban sandwiches with sides of fried yuca. Fair prices with good serving sizes. We ate at Sofrito twice during our short vacation. Highly recommend. read more

Appetizer: Cuban empanada (beef) -SO good! Entrees: hubby had the cachapa, he said it was good. I had churrasco with yellow rice, sweet plantains & papa criolla -SO. FREAKING. GOOD. The chimmichurri dipping sauce was the perfect dipping sauce for my steak. Was only able to get a picture of the churrasco because we ate everything else too quick before I got a chance to snap a pic, lol. 10/10, will definitely have to visit this place again the next time we are in Orlando! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Churrasco - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

This place has AMAZING Latin American food. We were recommended this place by a friend and now I hope to be that friend to you, GO HERE FOR DINNER! All the food is amazing and one entree with the 3 sides is big enough for 2 people to share. The price is VERY reasonable and the food is even more so. The house hot sauces are delicious with the habanero being my favorite. The chicken wasn't over cooked and the Red Beans (similar to refried beans) + Yellow Rice are a great combo. I'm a sucker for Tostones and they were on the sweeter side but still really good. If you have a date or some friends you want to go out with, this place has a great environment and many things to try for Peru, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Cuba, etc. read more

A great menu with all the traditional dishes from Latin America. The beer selection lacks a some in the Latin selection, those beers can be hard to import. The beer selection is not why you come here. All of the food is brilliant. The flavors are clean and remind me of what the dishes I've had traveling taste like. Really not the easiest thing to pull off if you think about it. These dishes are traditional and the collection of flavors takes years of experience to prefect, grandma isn't sharing, The food is affordable, it's delicious and the service is fast. Of all the dishes we had at the table the balance of flavors was true to the dish. The black beans were just as good as the chicken. The fried plantains were as good as beef. I will go back next time I'm in town, read more

This is a family owned business. They also own El Pateon a Mexican restaurant close to this location. The 3 of us actually dined here the previous night prior to us going to the Orlando Magic Basketball game. Last night we ordered the churrasco and the grilled chicken. Both of those were excellent. This review, let me focus on the breakfast we had. We needed to have something in our bellies prior to going to universal studios. Since we had a nice experience the night before, we decided to take a chance on breakfast here. We made the right move. I ordered the BEC, sofrito special. It was a sandwich with eggs and bacon. The bread was crunchy, perfectly made. I also ordered the beef Venezuelan empanada. The sauce included went perfectly and the beef was plentiful inside. I read some other reviews and most were dead wrong. The hosts and hostesses are so accommodating and look to help all customers with a very customer centric attitude. We were able to have a conversation with Genesis. She is a manager there and she has such a nice personality. Based on the freshness of all our meals, the rapid preparation, and the friendliness of the workers there, we would gladly return for almost all our meals! read more

The restaurant was empty when I arrived which should have served as a warning, I ordered takeout and we wound up throwing the food away. Having been to Sofrito's Latin Cafe a 1/2 dozen times over the past several years, I thought I had to return to the site of my favorite south american restaurant on my quick trip to Orlando. While still pleasing, either it was an off-night or I was waxing nostalgic for visits from the past. Still a quaint spot, with tables inside and out, one orders at a front counter and they bring your food tableside. In the past i have sampled many of the starters, soup, sides and entrees. Since I brought my colleague I thought why not load up on the smaller options so he could enjoy the sampling variety of tastes and he could also have an entree. My starters all came out first...the Pollo soup, the Argentenian Empanada with chicken, the Pandebono and the fried Yucca. the soup, just as I remembered it was hot, with large chunks of chicken and plenty of veggies. The best of show for the night. The Yucca was just the right fried and the sauce applied at the right dose, but a bit cool when served. Then there was the Empanada, which was tough, too chewy and stone cold. Sadly, the Pandebono brought up the rear....not that it was bad, just merely meh. My colleague went for the Camarones al Ajillo. The sides, rice and black beans, salad and Plantains were tasty, but nothing special. Sadly, the shrimp, he reported, seemed unseasoned and a bit overcooked. He wasn't able to finish them. His highlight however was a BlackBerry Smoothie. He said it was the delicious high point and made the trip about 5 miles from our hotel worthwhile. While I'm glad, I must admit to being a bit disappointed after having been bragging about this place to him. Of note: the 3 sauces, a Hababero, a Jalapeno and a aptly named Scorpion sit on each table. The Hababero was my favorite and the Scorpion did have a bit of a bite but nothing desdly. While less than hoped for, I still like Sofrito's and hope on my next trip to have the pizazz back into the meal so I can update my review to reflect what I know they are capable of doing. read more

Sofrito is close to where we are staying, it had 4.5 stars on Yelp, so we decided to try it. We're glad we did. Sofrito Latin Cafe is a causal dining cafe with a large varied menu. We ordered at the counter. I had a Venezuelan chicken empanada and the Lamb Apenea. The empanada came with a dip. It was outstanding!!! The crust was very flaky, the filling was amazing and dipping sauce was very good. The Lamb Apenea was also excellent. It came in a type of crunchy pocket bread. The filling was a mixture of grilled lamb, tomato and I think onion. I loved it. My wife had the pork Apenea. The pork was tender and it came in the same type of pocket bread. It was good, but she thought it needed something and after tasting it, I would agree. One of our friends had the Venezuelan burger and raved about it. His wife had what looked like a large sandwich with the same pork mixture that was on the Apenea. She liked it ver much. There is a lot of variety on the menu and it covers a bunch of price points. If we were going to be here longer, I'd go back to try some other dishes. I would also try some other types of Empanadas. read more

We were wanting to try different cuisine since we've been eating a lot of fast food being here for the parks. We found Sofrito as it was near our hotel. This place is such a gem! When going into the restaurant you order your food at the counter or kiosk and take a number and sit at one of the available tables (if you choose to dine in). After sitting, they bring you your food and drink to your table. The place can get busy but there are a lot of tables and bar seating available. Theres a lot of food to choose from and I wish we couldve gotten more! The staff is also willing to help you choose what to eat if its your first time. read more

It was ok. The Empanada had a weird "old" taste to it, and the Cuban sandwich was too dry. Ambiance was that of a cafeteria so nothing too impressive with some of the walls by the tables a bit dirty. And the gentleman at the front door had a major attitude, non-welcoming and appeared frustrated when asked a question about the menu. read more

We come every time we visit Orlando. Everything is good. Even our South American soccer team parents liked it.

5 stars for the food. We wanted to try authentic Cuban food near our hotel. We yelped, and the Mrs. thought seating at this restaurant was decent, so we ended up here. Ambiance: There is adequate parking at this plaza. There is plenty of seating inside and in the patio. There is a bar with high stool seating as well. Staff were regularly cleaning up after patrons leave. The overall feeling you get at this place is aptly summed up by its name. "Latin" and "Cafe". Service: We walked up to the counter, asked a bunch of questions about the menu, and settled on what we wanted based on recommendations by an employee there. Employees were very personable. They were constantly doing something or the other like cleaning, checking up on patrons, etc. instead of gathering at a corner socializing. (+1) Food: I got the Roast Pork plate with yellow rice, salad and a bunch of vegetables. The portion on this dish was ginormous. The value is unbelievable at $9.00. The pork is a little bit on the dry side but mixed with rice and the salad it was good. The different sides selected do give a lot of ways to eat the food. Yuccas were definitely a highlight for me on this plate. Potatoes and Fries were good portions for the price. Ian was overloaded with carbs after this meal! Service is good. There is abundant value in their offerings. Options to select from also give this an authentic Cuban cuisine feel. Hit it up guys! read more

Well fellow Yelpers, I decided to try this place due to your reviews. Thank you for not steering me wrong. The churrasco was very flavorful. It came with a side salad and you could choose 2 additional sides. I went with the white rice/black beans and the sweet plantains. I wish the chimichurri sauce was a little more prominent and that there was more dressing on the salad. The smoothie was delicious, but just a warning that it is really sweet. I enjoyed the level of sweetness, but know it might be too much for some. The service isn't anything to write home about. Fairly slow and the employees aren't too friendly. They don't clear the tables very quickly and when I arrived, there were multiple dirty tables that still had their numbers on them. I will probably try this place again, but won't necessarily go out of my way to get here due to the service. read more
