This place isn't fancy, meaning its you order at the screen and then sit down with a number and they bring you your food. That being said, the food was pretty good. I had salmon, fried yuca and plantains. All were good. My kids had burgers and liked them. The drinks were all good too. read more

Sad to say the food did not live up to my expectations. The portions were small and not very flavorful . It was not busy when we went. We ordered appetizers and our entrée and everything came out at the same time. Staff were not that attentive. Give it 2 Stars just because read more

This was our first time here and the place was packed! Despite this, the service was great & we found a table on their cute back porch. We'd originally planned to just grab drinks, but everything looked and smelled so good that we ended up ordering some churros & the Cuban pastelitos. Everything we ordered was delicious & I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu! read more

Good Latin food, just a heads up upon entering the restaurant a cashier takes your order, if you know what you want they have kiosks available also in the front you can order directly from food menu,They provide you with the number you placed on your table when your order is ready they deliver the food. Once seated, clean welcoming dinning area, staff was pleasant and efficient and the food came out a short time later. large plates a lot of food fresh food. Sofrito is good because it has all the latin options at once and i like that. You can also order on a tablet if you need more time to figure out what everything is and i like that because my spanish is muy mal. Always good food. read more

I was in Orlando to visit my grandmother in May and returned in July. Both times I made it a point to come to Sofrito even though she lives in St. Cloud. The thing I miss most about living in Kissimmee is the Puerto Rican food. So in May when I stumbled on Sofrito I was so happy to have some delicious pernil. I miss pernil so much! In May I had the pernil sandwich with a Kola Champagne. Omg it took me back to my childhood. I returned in July and stayed at the Hampton Inn down the street specifically because it was close to Sofrito lol. I had Sofrito for breakfast and dinner each day. The coffee was amazing, the mojito was delicious, the pernil was still on point. Honestly I wish I had ordered a catering dish of the pernil to bring home with me lmao read more

A lot of variety in the dishes. The chimichurri steak is delicious. The dessert is not worth the money but otherwise it's worth a visit.

Went to this place a while a go and it was a mediocre experience. The food was okay, nothing special about it. The restaurant is clean and nice, again: nothing special about it. What really bothered us was the service, a couple of servers would keep staring at us weirdly, also they would come WAY too often ask if we needed anything, I mean every 2-3 minutes, which did make me feel a bit uncomfortable because it didn't seem the real reason they were coming over so often to our table. Anyway, it was a while ago, hope it has changed since but I wouldn't come back considering everything that I just said. read more

If you're in Orlando and craving authentic Latin flavors, Sofrito Latin Cafe is an absolute must. I make it a point to stop here once or twice a year, and they never disappoint. The roast pork is phenomenal--perfectly tender, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. It is hands-down my favorite, and you've got a meal that's comforting and unforgettable. Highly recommend adding this gem to your foodie bucket list! read more

Have been in Orlando for business a couple of times in the last month and had a local recommend Sofrito to me as a place to eat. I had the opportunities to try the Argentinian Churraco and the Camarones al ajillo. The flavor of both were on point, and for the money, taste and quality hit the right spot. I also had the churros and croquetas and would recommend those to anyone. The food quantity was great but the quality was lagging. I had the lomo Saltado and it was good but not outstanding. Flavor was almost there by almost I mean it was missing a kick of something. It came out warmish not hot. The empanada was a tad bland as well. The Cuban sandwich was good. Bread was really good pressed and everything melded very well. The fresh juices were very good and freshly made. My favorite was the sauces as they are all made in house and were very delicious. Their version of ranch was great on fries and yucca and I'd go back just for that. All in all it seemed a bit like cafeteria food over a scratch made kitchen that it is. The ordering system at the front was ok and easy to use but the servers seemed confused when it came to actually delivering it to the table. It was ok not great. read more

If you want to enjoy a true culinary Latin food experience in Orlando, Fla., this is it! As a Venezuelan myself, it's hard to find Venezuelan restaurants this delicious here in the U.S. We ordered the shredded meaf cachapa, rotisserie chicken, churrasco and chicken soup. Every single item was delicious. Staff was corteous and friendly. This place also has some options of beers and spitits. Also, there is plenty of free parking. 100% recomended, and we will definitely come back! read more

The service and the food here are both great! The variety of empanadas is vast. Our family liked the Cuban one the best. The Churasco and Lomo Saltado were our favorite main dishes The service is really good too. They bring the food really fast and the people are really friendly. Leo also went out of his way for us. The restaurant is also very clean and welcoming. read more

I come to this place every time I'm in town. This time when I stopped by, I tried their empanadas (all of them AHHA). I most enjoyed the Venezuelan Beef Empanada and Colombian Beef Empanada. I also got an Argentinian Chicken Empanada, but it was a little dry this morning and I relied on the side sauces. I ordered a Guava smoothie with Half passion, which was so good! Overall I love this place. Every time I take a bite of any of their dishes I'm reminded of South America. Their drinks hit just right that every other place seems to miss a crucial ingredient. Parking is plentiful! The space is large and accommodating for breakfast with families for a birthday party, or a nice brunch date. You can order in person, online, or through their kiosk when you enter. read more

This place is one of my favorites for a quick but deliciously elevated meal. It's hard to peel myself away from my favorite dish here which is the skirt steak with fried yuca and rice and beans. It comes with a nice little salad that is not just an after thought. I have also enjoyed their chicharrones. I did try the patacon once and didn't really love it. There are so many things on the menu though so I can't wait to try more. read more

Food was bland. I expected more from a Latin restaurant. My arepa was filled with cheese and very little chicken. They charged for everything including mayo ketchup and didn't provide glasses of water. It felt like a tourist trap- especially with taking a picture and trying to sell them for $20 a pop. The ambiance was neutral. This place has a lot of potential but has a lot of improvements to be made. read more

I was out in the side of town for a symposium convention and this restaurant happen to be just right down the street. I need up eating here multiple times in that one week because I love Hispanic Latin food. They had everything from Latin pastries all the way to rice and different meat dishes and everything was just so good. We came here for lunch, and I brought some of my coworkers with me too, and they all really enjoyed the food and the prices were all really good to. read more

Got a cubano and Tres leches. The cubano looked great, but lacked flavor. I barely tasted the mustard, and the ham + pork were barely salted (yes, the ham lacked flavor). The strongest flavor by miles are the 2 slices of pickles. Overall sandwich was kind of dry too. The Tres leches came in a plastic container and did not look like they made it. It was soft and not too sweet (which is a good thing), but I could also taste preservatives in the whipped cream. Ambiance was fine. Not too loud, open seating after you order. read more

Service was excellent and food was very good. We ate here last year at about the same time and food was just as good as last time.

Originally from South Florida- so when it comes to Latin food, I might have higher standards than others. Decided to try it after eating here for dinner again after reading lots of reviews. Ordered lunch to go on the kiosk and waited about 20 minutes. Ordered 2 entrees and 1 side- came out to about $35+ I was a bit surprised on portion size. Flavor was fine but after eating here twice, it was just okay. read more

Food was delicious but pricey for the portions! We had steak with rice and maduros and also had a taste of the Colombian empanadas which I did not like. I think I made a mistake ordering that one, I wanted the sweet Venezuelan one, my mistake. My husband had the pabellón which he liked. The breakfast sandwiches how ever were just OK. I would come back for lunch or dinner and skip breakfast here. read more

From the interwebs...."Sofrito is the base for most Puerto Rican dishes, and this one is better than store-bought (it's difficult to find in the stores in the western United States). Sofrito can be added to beans, rice, soups, and stews; you name it." It's also a restaurant in O'Lando Compared to other cafes this one is pretty good. It's hard to gage an O'Lando restaurant due to all the tourists, of which I am one ;). But I will say the food is sweet! Have the special cocktail. It's not in the menu but will blow your mind. So when I'm O'Lando - get to cloud city - rescue Han from that bounty hunter and have some Sofrito!! You will not be disappointed read more

We drove by this place on our way to find our hotel, and it caught my eye. We came here to finally have some Spanish food on our visit to Florida. The place is cute and cozy. They have a full-size bar fully stocked. The service is also great as they are very attentive. Now the food. The mini papa's rellenas were great with just the right amount of filling and also not greasy at all. My pork was tender and flavorful, and the mojo on the yuca was on point. My wife's churrasco was also tender and seasoned perfectly. read more

Near Disney you are going to find a lot of chain restaurants. Getting a meal that hasn't been advertised on national television is going to be hard. Alas near my Lake Buena Vista hotel was a Latin America joint called Sofrito. It was good food in good portions. The place is a fast causal format: you order first at a station near the front and you get a number for your seat. The service was indeed very fast: I got my dish of shredded pork in no time. Did I mention the portions are huge? There was so much protein I was able to top both my salad and rice with it. The yuca fries are solid, topped with chimi churri sauce. The portions for the side dish was much smaller- but not complaining since the entree was gigantic. Bottom Line: A great option if you are like me and looking for something more Mom and Pop and less corporate chain. read more

Delicious Venezuelan Breakfast Brunch!!! Quick bits right before heading to the parks! Friendly staff and simple menu. Prices are a little high but your right next to Disney so that is expected Lols. We had the Desayuno Criollo which comes with Ropa vieja (shredded beef), Arepas (fried tortillas), Black beans, and 2 eggs made to your liking. The cafe con leche was pretty good and they do have vegan options with oat milk and almond milk which is great! *You order first, pay then you take a number and sit anywhere you like.. Sofrito never disappoints! If you want a small quick meal to go or a full sit down dinner, they have a great menu that can meet your needs. There are multiple cuisines represented and great flavor across all parts of the menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If you do choose to dine in, there is both indoor and covered patio dining. Polllo a la plancha and yucca fries are my favorites here, but we haven't had anything we haven't liked yet. Their dishes are flavorful, but not intimidating for those who are visiting or haven't tried these cuisines before. Flavor, not spicy! The Nutella empanada is also good! read more

Definitely recommend this to those visiting Orlando. Almost overlooked this place on Yelp because I was a bit worried about trying something new but glad we got the chance to dine in for the whole experience. There was a line from the door to the register - fairly busy for a Thursday night. Once you place your order, they will give you a number stand to place on the table. For 5, we ordered: - 4x red sangria: 3/5 - tons of fruits but tasted watered down - tostones: 4/5 - chewy and crispy at the same time - mini Cuban pastelito: 4/5 - flavorful and fluffy - Cuban empanada: 3/5 - was okay, nothing special - churrasco: 5/5 - highly recommend! Meat was seasoned perfectly and sauce complemented well, side of fried yuca and plantains were super yummy - arepa de pabellon: 4/5 - very flavorful, you can taste every ingredient inside - roast pork: 5/5 - huge portion, def a shareable dish, most parts are tender but some parks are overly fried so it was a bit difficult to bite through. Food came out fairly quickly and service was good. Also, the ambience here was nice, they had good music on and lighting was toned down a bit - great for date night or dinner with family and friends. read more

Well good people I was on vacation this past weekend and staying down the road at a very nice Resort. I always come to yelp for them to give me suggestions of nice places to eat nearby because I did not want fried food so I found this place Sofrito's! And I am very glad that I did, very nice restaurant clean the young man upfront, who took my order very nice and accommodating. We were in Orlando for a wedding, we are also foodies and Yelp snobs...We searched for restaurants by our hotel and Sofritos was literally 450FT from our hotel, the fact that it was so close and had 4.5 stars with 2,111 reviews made us try it...And as you can see we gave it 5 stars so the short walk paid off dividends!!! We both had the roast pork since we love pork, I had the beans, rice and tostonas and my partner had double rice and the small potatoes... I convinced my family to try out this restaurant while on vacation as we don't have many Latin American restaurants back home and I love trying new food. The food was AMAZING and my whole family (picky eaters included) agreed. Portions we're great and we even went back up front and ordered multiple drinks and desserts, staying there for a couple hours before we had to fly out. Staff we're helpful in trying to explain dishes to us that we had never heard of before. This is a top recommendation for any one visiting Orlando. read more

Our family went to this restaurant in hopes of experiencing a different type of cuisine compared to what we have back in our city. However, my son did not want Latin/Cuban food so he ordered chicken tenders and fries. After taking a couple of bites, he realized the chicken was undercooked in the middle. We all know that eating raw chicken can lead to health issues, so I reported the situation to the staff. The owner was apologetic and decided to refund our money, promising to credit the amount back to our credit card. However, two weeks had passed, and we still hadn't seen any refund. I called the restaurant, and they assured me that it would appear in our account soon. Unfortunately, it never did. I'm writing this to highlight how such situations can happen, where restaurants make promises to return your money but fail to follow through. At this point, we have no choice but reach out to our bank to file the claim. read more
