Near Disney you are going to find a lot of chain restaurants. Getting a meal that hasn't been advertised on national television is going to be hard. Alas near my Lake Buena Vista hotel was a Latin America joint called Sofrito. It was good food in good portions. The place is a fast causal format: you order first at a station near the front and you get a number for your seat. The service was indeed very fast: I got my dish of shredded pork in no time. Did I mention the portions are huge? There was so much protein I was able to top both my salad and rice with it. The yuca fries are solid, topped with chimi churri sauce. The portions for the side dish was much smaller- but not complaining since the entree was gigantic. There are multiple cuisines represented and great flavor across all parts of the menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If you do choose to dine in, there is both indoor and covered patio dining. Polllo a la plancha and yucca fries are my favorites here, but we haven't had anything we haven't liked yet. Well good people I was on vacation this past weekend and staying down the road at a very nice Resort. Great little place to get some good Cuban food. We sat out on the patio which was nice. We shared the 36 hour pork dinner with three sides and added an order of Tostones. The toast Stoneys came with a dipping sauce. They are a must so delicious. We also enjoyed the pork, it was not at all dry and was very flavorful. This place is a hidden gem found right next to Disney. It's a great spot to find Cuban/South American food. They have 2 kiosks where you can order yourself on a computer and they also have someone who can take your order. Indoor has a very industrial, modern vibe. They also have a bar inside. You order at the kiosk or with an employee, take a number, and find a seat (inside or out), they bring you your food and drinks but also have a water dispenser outside for your convenience. My wife tried a Pabellon arepa and it was sooooooo incredibly tender and delicious. We went twice during our stay and that's what she got both times.
