This place was stellar! No other way to describe it. Casual latin dining at it's best. The service was excellent all the way around. They were very friendly & attentive. The menu was simple to read with nice descriptions for those not familiar with Latin food. The set up is nice, you order and pay upon entry then sit and wait to be served your food. Time efficient to say the least. Now to the best part...the food! It was DELICIOUS, every last morsel took me to my childhood. Litetally more than food, it was a full experience. The croquetas de jamòn were my favorite! Hadn't ate them since my Miami days and 10 years later they were even better than I recall. I would've given them a 5 star rating but the bathroom was a nit on the dirty side with a smell of urine. Nothing a good wipedown couldn't fix, but EVERYTHING else was amazing! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Cafe con leche y jugo de parcha... Delicious - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Fan-freaking-tastic food! The wide variety on the menu is awesome. We were able to try empanadas from multiple South American countries. The atmosphere is cool and chill. I cannot express how much we loved the food. I will recommend this place to every person I know going to Orlando. The pricing is super nice for those traveling too making it very affordable especially given Orlando prices. read more

Wonderful food. Came in near closing and they didn't rush us a bit. In fact they gave us extra to take home. We live in Georgia but we will come back the next time we are in town. read more

Fresh & tasty! Grateful for the vegetarian options on the menu. Friendly staff. Fried Yucca has splash of sauce, tostones, black beans and yellow rice 'se dejaba comer.' My brother had a loaded roast pork plate w maduros, hope to go back soon! read more

Honestly, not a fan. I am Latin and have had cuisine from different Latin countries but the food here just seems mediocre. Not as flavorful as I am used to from eating in Latin restaurants. And last time I went the food was even cold. I think this place has potential but needs a little work. read more

This place is amazing!! From the drinks to the food to the staff. Andres and coworkers were on top of it. Very attentive and polite. El sancocho hit the spot and the churrasco was cooked to perfection. Can't wait to come back. read more

The best Non-formal food restaurant in all of Orlando. Wonderfully seasoned, cooked to perfection, and Nostalgic. We ended our business trip with a trip to Sofrito before returning home. We had to bring some of the delicious Cuchifritos home! read more

Empanada was burnt and hard as rock. Our avocado toast had barely any avocado on it and the arepa tasted like it was raw. I know the food must be good by the wait time but our experience was unacceptable. I called to have our food replaced and they guy that answered the phone didn't care. Will not be going back. read more

Great food and generous portions at a very reasonable price. If you like Latin cuisine you will love this restaurant.

Good latín food the best is that they open at 7:00 am for early birds like me. Great Venezuelan food. Ate some empanadas of shredded beef!! A little bit pricey at $3.50 each empanada but you have to pay for the overhead! read more

Very disappointed with the turnaround at this establishment. This was one of my favorite restaurants to visit whenever I'm in Florida and I have visited this establishment multiple times. Their food was great. Their service was great. However I do not know what happened. I noticed the last three times I visited, the orders were not accurate, the wait time to place and receive your order is pretty long and even longer when there is only one person taking orders instead of two. No one enforces COVID CDC guidelines. Signs are up to have your mask on, but as I waited on line with my mask on, I've seen customers come in without their masks on. No one reminded them to put their mask on or give them a mask if they didn't have one. No one was monitoring the line to ensure proper distance. What really ruin it for me is when I ask for takeout trays and found a live roach in the tray. We approached the female manager and her reaction was dismissive, uncaring and unapologetic. She was actually telling us the excuse that we just got those trays of the truck today. She also indicated it was all about the money, until my husband told her no it's not about the money it's about cleanliness and being respectful to your customers. Do they not rinse their takeout trays or inspect them before handling them to their customers? Are they practicing proper protocol as far as cleanliness? Sadly, we will not be returning. read more

NO SERVICE AT ALL; TOO EXPENSIVE FOR A POLLO TROPICAL It takes 30 to 40 minutes to be seated......because you need to pre-order your food and after you pay you can be seated ( just like in a fast food, it can be compare to POLLO TROPICAL.....but you wait less in Pollo Tropical) and wait there is more wait...... after you pay you need to wait a good 2 minutes for them to clean your table. Don't even try to show your discomfort to the cashier .... they don't care if you wait. TOO EXPENSIVE and Severs don't acknowledge you after paying $20 for shrimp, rice and coke. Please be ready to Serve you own coke in an 8oz plastic, clear cup.... (at least Pollo Tropical cups are bigger and printed with their logo and it's way cheaper) Ambience.....well you will be eating at the rhythm of REAGGETON. And good luck with getting what you order..... if you need to talk to someone about you order don't even bother waiting for someone to come just go to the bar there's always someone there. read more

This is one terrific place and the food prices, service are the best. We had a group of four adults and two kids with all of us getting something we liked! More restaurants should be like this! Top notch!!! I went back to Sofrito again on my recent trip and it is still one fantastic restaurant with such a happy atmosphere! read more

My family and I had never had a cachapa before, and they are amazing. We loved every single thing we had here. My son claims that it was the best meal he has ever had. We also had shrimp, roasted pork, and another dish that I can't recall. All were delicious. The serving sizes were big. Each main course came with 3 sides and salad. They even have some good beer on draft. read more

We had 4 different meals while sitting on the covered patio, socially distanced. The Cuban sandwich with side of red beans was delicious. The Pernal sandwich with plantains was moist with crunchy bread and flavorful. The plantains were slightly thick to my liking, but the crispness was wonderful. My husband had the roasted pork with black beans, potatoes and rice. The meat was very tender and a generous portion - all for $10. Sorry the fourth meal was a sandwich which she said was good. We also had 2 Mojitos....very good! The service was very good and the people who work there were definitely 5 stars!!! read more

Decided to pop in here for lunch on our vacation - definitely the right choice. If I lived in Orlando I'd be coming here at least once a week. Had the Cachapa with shredded pork... Outstanding! And while the food was amazing, the service was out of this world. Warm and welcoming, they were so friendly and helpful. Frequent check ins from the staff to make sure everything was great and provided some excellent recommendations. EAT HERE! read more

Stopped in here on our way through Orlando. Ordered the shrimp ajillo, yellow rice, red beans, and sweet plantains. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Cozy atmosphere and restaurant was clean. Food tasted great. My city doesn't have anything like this so as full as we were, we ordered coffee and desserts to go. read more

Fantastic restaurant with delicious, fresh and beautiful Latin food, and also a great Latin vibe. The prices are very reasonable. The Sofrito menu is composed of culinary offerings from Central, Southern America and the Caribbean. My wife had a Shrimp entrée from Puerto Rico , my son ate Salmon entrée from Peru, and I enjoyed a massive fried red fish cooked Dominican Republic style. Sofritos offers a number of "Small Bites", Arepas, desserts and country related mixed drinks. My family not only had a meal, but a lesson in Latin cuisine. If you are ever in Orlando/Kissimmee, you have visit Sofritos. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. read more

We were so happy to find this place in the midst of tourist central. The dining space is very clean and the decor is modern and warm. We ordered an omelette, Cuban breakfast sandwich, and the Nutella empanada situation to go. All were pretty good. This is a fast casual restaurant serving not only Cuban food, but many other Latin staples. The decor is simple, but very pleasing and clean. The Cuban roast pork I had was good, but not as flavorful and juicy as that found at a good Miami Cuban restaurant. The value is outstanding, getting 3 tasty sides and a small salad with the entree. The service also was outstanding. I'll be certain to make this a regular when I'm in Orlando. read more

Yes yes yes! 2nd place we tried as first time visitors in Orlando. Sooooooo good. Please get the cachapa with shredded beef. Pleeeeeeease. The churrasco was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Great accompaniments. The roast pork was very good. And also, PLEASE get the flan. Any kind. So silky and creamy and perfect. read more

The atmosphere and food was great. What turned me off a bit was asking me to pay upfront at a sit down restaurant. I felt like I was at an airport. When I questioned this the gentleman's response was I am not the owner. I am most walked out. I questioned how you determine amount without the actual experience? Then you have to get up and go and get your own soft drinks. One of the orders was incorrect and rather than offer a solution the gentleman who also took our order offered nothing. Not once did anyone stop by to check in on us and see if everything was ok. If none of the above phases you, this is the restaurant for you because the food was really really good. read more

The best combination of multiple Latino dishes. Try them all,, they're all very good.

Don't trust the ratings. Bloody Mary's were TERRIBLE. Food was dry and boring. Also the girl at the front was unfriendly and there was no direction or assistance. Especially if you are in the hospitality industry stay far away. Waste of money. read more

The hospitality at Sofrito is great and so is the food. We were looking for Cuban food which they had but they also had so much more when it came to Latin Cuisine. The serving sizes were extremely generous and luck enough for me I had leftovers to take home. I'd recommend you make sure to get some fried Plantains while you're here. They were perfect! read more

This place is pretty clutch as it is very close to the hotels right outside of Disney. I actually ate her twice on my trip, once for dine-in the other for take-out. My only complaint with the dine in service is that the tables are not cleaned up immediately, and numbers are not taken off the tables so it's pretty unclear what tables are available for you to sit at. Aside from that the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and courteous. In terms of food, our meal was pretty good (except for dessert which I will get to.) I'm not so sure that the Cuban and Mini Tequeños were authentic (but both were recommended by our waitress so who am I to say anything) but they were both really good because who doesn't love some melted cheese? We also ordered an pernil arepas and the roast pork; both were delicious but I definitely recommend the roast pork dish! Not only is roast pork dish a pretty good deal as it comes with three sides, but it seemed more flavorful than the pernil arepas (which is also roast pork, but possible not cooked as long?) As for dessert, the tres leches was a little weird... the consistency was grainy and it wasn't served as a cake. It was given to us a kind of parfait cup, where all the cake was crumbled up and squished to fit the container. There was also too much whipped cream on top for me. Aside from the desserts, this is a pretty good place to stop by if you're staying near Disney! read more

Friendly staff. Bilingual and will take time to explain anything on the menu. I watched as they took great care to deliver everything with no spills on the side of a cup or glass and took time preparing to ensure everything was correct. I only had empanadas which are good. read more

Nothing bad to say at all. They were great to our kids and the food was so unique. The Cuban was great and the arepa was like 3 meals. The cheese was a little weird. It was like a big block. Once I put it on the pork it melted nicely. Have to try this place. A nice break from Disney food. read more

So this is the first time I have ever written a Yelp review so bare with me. The reason I haven't written a review before is simply that I never found a place so bad that I thought I should slander them or so good I would recommend them over others. Well today that changed. I am in Orlando for Vacation and I decided to try a local restaurant I found Sofrito Latin Cafe on yelp and liked what I read and it was in walking distance from my hotel so I thought I would take a risk. That risk paid off big! I ordered the Churrasco! I have never had that before and it was cooked to perfection! The meat melted in my mouth. For sides I ordered the red beans, yellow rice and Yucca al Cilantro Mojo. The red beans are nothing to write home about but the yellow rice is very flavorful and the Yucca al Cilantro Mojo is amazing! The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Something very welcome after doing the parks all day. I briefly talked to the Manager/possibly owner I'm not sure for a few minutes. He was walking around asking people how they liked things. Lol first time in a while I was actually very happy and not just being polite. I told him I was going to write a review and that I would be back to eat here again tomorrow. I bet he thinks I was kidding! Lol nope I'll be getting either lunch or breakfast here. Honestly if you are in the area and you have the time try this restaurant. It's far, far better then I expected. On the practical side it's not even a particularly expensive restaurant. Friday's and the like are around the same price, but again the quality is not comparable! Update: Ok day two! I'm back for lunch and I went Weapons free on the menu. Lol. My Wife and I ordered the Cuban Empanadas, the Venezuelan Empanadas both in Chicken and in beef. Both are fantastic but I do think the Chicken Cuban Empanada was the better of the group. It has a crisper texture and cleaner fresher taste. The Venezuelan empanadas are good don't get me wrong but the dough is heavier and holds a bit more oil. I probably won't order that again. Especially as now I need to try the Colombian and Argentinian Empanadas! Lol. Probably not until next year but you never know. We also ordered Mini Tequeños, they come with a garlic-cilantro sauce the Empanadas did as well. Fantastic sauce. Just a kiss of lime in it I do believe. Ok now the main dish we got the Roast Pork and the Pollo a la Brasa. Now the good and the bad news. The Pork is good and so is the chicken but they are in no way comparable to the Churrasco. Don't get me wrong they are good meals, very good even. You would do well to order either but they don't have the same "Pop" on the taste buds of the Churrasco or even the Empanadas. Still a very solid 5 star meal. read more
