Friendly staff. Just a bummer that most the cameras don't work for half the fields. Would rate 5/5 otherwise.

My…read morebody and mind have gone through dramatic shifts in just over 3 months; from the darkest depths of depression, self-doubt, weakness, and laziness, to camaraderie, purpose, strength, and positivity. This is the type of gym you come to to learn and work at. The mirrors here are for technique, not flexing. The ring is for work, not Instagram. You don't want to waste a single minute of your time here, because any time this gym offers you is limited time that you need to value. And if you don't, you're stealing from the next person in line who cares more than you do. There is an air of machismo that permeates the space, but that doesn't imply sexism - it's something different. It's something that anyone of any gender can appreciate and use as a tool to advance their craft. It's something hard, smart, vicious - it feels revived and repurposed from days past, and it's something you may not even know you need. I did. And if you're reading this, you might too. Try to get a spot here. Sign up for just one class. It's not going to be for everyone, but you'll know right away if it's for you. And if it is, you're going to find exactly what you needed. Thank God this spot is here. I don't know what I'd do without it.

A great place to learn Boxing without breaking the bank. The setup is very much like a college gym…read morethat is: the workout of the day is written on the board, you do it to the best of your ability followed by bag work, pad work and coaching advice on your boxing technique. Overall I think that this gym offers a great Bang For The Buck considering that most Manhattan style Boxing gym's Segment and Monetize individual activities such as one on one coaching, pad-work or even the opportunity to spar. This gym, however, does it more or less as a complete package and at a reasonable rate. Including, if you can make it, Boxing/Boot Camp style classes in the morning, instructed by the owner. Like most boxing gyms in NYC, this GYM is somewhat rough around the edges. But when you get to know the people that work here and the trainers you will soon see you made a good discussion joining this gym, if your intentions are to get in shape and learn the art of pugilism. In a Nutshell, ... A TOTAL PACKAGE ....it's a good place to learn the sweet science without burning a big hole in your wallet.

I joined this gym in January and its the best investment I've made this year, im a shitty day trader so thats not saying much. The Yoga studios are so peaceful and the instructors are all masters. Notably Jason Morris hot yoga classes are energizing and therapeutic, he is such a Guru Ive learned so much about anatomy and making a mind body connection that it spills over into weight training. Luliias voice is so soothing and her classes are so fun, the Friday class specially feels like everyone is connected Gigis class is super cool on Sundays it should be renamed Juicy Yoga with Gigi lol, shes so funny and connects with everyone, the class feels like cuddles after sex. Spin with Juggy and Melora is elite. Ive gotten so much faster in my road bike after just a few classes. Functional training with Nyerre Mays is un-unreal. He is such a cool dude and such a Pro. The pool is epic, the Jacuzzi forget about it. The entire staff is super friendly and makes everyone feel super welcomed. I truly feel at home whenever I make it to the gym. The MVPs of the gym are the cleaning staff though, everything is so spotless all the time. In a city so chaotic is nice to have this peaceful oasis.

Even…read morethough he had competed in the Junior Olympics when he was younger, I decided anyway to come here and try out my ability. We both live in Flushing near Main St., so NYISC was a perfect place for us to travel to. The club inside was spacious and clean. Some of the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us a thorough and in-depth description of all the membership services and fees for ping pong games/coaching. The actual tables are professional-grade, and there are actually plenty of them spread throughout an enormous indoor facility. I liked the feel of the high ceilings while I played (or at least ATTEMPTED to play haha). Even though this place was popular on a weeknight around 7-8pm, the size of the facility didn't make me feel cramped. Checking out the rest of NYISC, I saw an indoor soccer field - which is a rare sight in a place such as Flushing. I don't play soccer, but I would recommend this space for soccer teams and friends looking to play a match or serious game. My boyfriend and I also wandered to the 'Pro Shop' in the sports club. They sold all different professional ping pong products from brands such as Butterfly (famous ping pong product manufacturer). We didn't purchase anything, but I did sign up for private lessons with one of the renowned & accomplished coaches. The pricing was for a set of 10 lessons and were more than affordable. The coaches were all world ranked, and have competed in Olympics, etc. Maybe one day I'll be able to at least keep up in a game with my boyfriend, lol. LAST THING: People here are very open and friendly. If you come on a weeknight like us or a weekend, there will always be staff to help you and fellow players/students to meet/interact with :) One person saw my extreme lack of ping-pong skills and kindly helped me out a bit the first time I came to NYISC -___- lols I will definitely be returning

Hello, my old friend. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from Equinox (and instead becoming a Barry's…read moredevotee), though I'll never say no to a good chilled eucalyptus towel. We were staying nearby and my husband had a guest pass and it was either vegging out in the hotel room, eyeing the minibar, or moving my butt, so off I went. This Equinox is situated pretty close to the Insta-famous picture spot of the Brooklyn Bridge that all the movies and TV shows feature, so be prepared to wade through a camera-wielding crowd. The stairs to the check-in desk aren't bad at all. If you want a Stairmaster workout before your actual workout, try the stairs at the Seaport location in Boston. Brutal. Layout is pretty typical for an Equinox - I did appreciate the natural light facing the weights area. Perhaps in a nod to what the clientele are clamoring for, much of the space is devoted to weights/machines, with all the cardio equipment in a smaller cluster near the back. When we went in the afternoon on a weekday, the space, particularly the locker room, was completely deserted. There's also a smoothie/juice bar on the first floor.

Are you ready to start your workout with some stairs? Get ready. This location is all about walking…read moreup those stairs. The moment you walk in you walk a flight of stairs to the mezzanine floor where front desk will greet you. The second floor you have your weights, women's locker room, and main studio. Moving on now to the 3rd floor where you will find the men's locker room, the first sets of elliptical machines and treadmills. Finally, you made it to the 4th floor where you will find the Pilates area, some more treadmills, yoga studio, and cycling studio. The gym is well maintained and clean. You will find towels on every floor. The upkeep is well taken care of before and after classes. This location the layout is different compared to other Equinox locations. Might be med size, but has everything will separated. I like the main studio has a sense of privacy compared to other Equinox locations where the main studio is full exposure. The only thing I don't like is the yoga studio size. On most slow days the capacity is great, but on other days, depending on the instructor, yoga classes can get crowded. Can be a bit challenging when crowded to move around or extend yourself without bumping into the next yogi. You do have a few popular yoga instructors and their class can be crowded. The locker room you don't have much space if someone else is using the lockers. You have to wait in case someone is using the kicker next to yours. Service is good. Have no complaints. Very modest location and nice staff.
