Had fun looking at all the little sloth decor throughout. Lots of light and glass. VERY limited seating; seats about 15 (?) inside; mostly 2 tops and a 6 top. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, permitted to sit where ever we would like, then handed menus. Turkish music playing was just a bit too loud. Hospitality. Friendly and helpful. Owner-chef seemed very happy to be there, singing and engaging with his regulars. Offerings. Basic breakfast and lunch items with Turkish and Mediterranean classics. No flavored lattes but other basic espresso drinks offered. Chai was excellent. Had the Turkish coffee because it was a Turkish joint; was REALLY good; strong. We tried a variety of dishes from here when visiting family. We got all of them for takeout for lunch. The menemen was my favorite. Like scrambled eggs with tomatoes and onions. It was tasty and even better with the bread they provided. It could've been packaged in a better way because the oil dripped out everywhere by the time we got it home. Maybe a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. The mezze platter was also quite nice, especially the carrot appetizer. The bulgur patties were also flavorful. The artichoke was slightly disappointing because it didn't have any other flavor than salt and vinegar, similar to canned/bottled artichokes. The salad was fresh and the dressing was light. We were in Bodrum, Turkey on a Virgin Voyages cruise. The people and food were amazing. The people at this restaurant, the food, the deserts were also amazing. We had two different plates that had a number of different sauces, humus, chicken, meatballs and salads. We also had the soup which was amazing. We also had the tea. Everything was so fresh, so flavorful , so friendly. The Turkish music in the back ground was the icing on the cake. We are going to tell our friends and family about it. I ordered the Köfte, which are Turkish meatballs, and they were delicious, especially with the mint yogurt sauce on the side. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the salad provided a nice complement to the savory flavor of the dish. I, of course, ordered the baklava for a dessert, and it was by far my favorite part--so delicious! I'm happy I stopped by, and will for sure be a repeat customer. We had the Mezze combination plate of Kisir bulgur salad, sautéed carrot with yogurt and sautéed broccoli, along with delectable marinated chicken. My companion had the sucuk sandwich, but, really, we couldn't get enough of the Mezze plate. The eclairs for dessert were excellent. Delicious Turkish classic foods, lovingly prepared. And don't miss the baked goods--they are all outstanding. For my birthday a couple of years ago, I special ordered a layer cake, and it was INCREDIBLE (and beautiful). I was downtown getting my steps in last month and stopped in to the Social Sloth Cafe & Bakery on a whim to grab a snack. I ended up leaving with a few Turkish treats and a slice of spinach/feta pie (?). I am not sure what any of the things I bought were called but they were are all great! The Turkish treats had a nougat/gum drop-like texture and they were infused with rose, pomegranate, or coconut, and pistachios both on the inside and outside of the treat. The spinach/feta pie (?) was amazing. I would buy an entire sheet tray of it if I could eat it all! I'll definitely be back to try out more of their treats and will probably stay for a cup of coffee next time! read more

This is the place for breakfast! I've had a few things and they've all been fantastic. And even better, they are so nice and helpful when helping you pick out your food. I've tried two of the borek: a sort of casserole with flaky dough and filling and both were incredible! Both potato cheese and zucchini. The little cheese and parsley pastries are really good too, as well as the simit, which is a sesame seed sort of bagel. And the desserts are also excellent. I've tried an apple walnut turnover and the baklava and both were delicious. You really can't go wrong with any of the food here! read more
