Chicken kebab - The image shows a Mediterranean restaurant meal with grilled chicken pieces, a serving of white rice topped with spices, a side salad with mixed greens, a bowl of hummus, and a basket of pita bread. There is also a small container of sauce and a glass of water on the tray. The setting includes a wooden table and metal chairs in the background.

Will undoubtedly be back! I ordered the chicken kebab plate and despite receiving solid portion sizes and being completely stuffed, I just wanted to keep eating. The sauce/glaze they put on their chicken is an absolute game changer. The garlic sauce was not overpowering and had the perfect amount of garlic. Hummus was creamy, flavorful, and not oily. The restaurant itself is much larger inside than I thought it would be with an extra seating area in the back. Realistically, the service could have been terrible, which it wasn't, and the ambiance could have looked like an outhouse and I'd still go back for the food. Can't wait to go back for their fresh made bread too! Just go.

Chicken Shawarma Over Rice - The image shows a meal served on a black tray, including a white oval plate with rice topped with shredded meat, a small container of white sauce, a bowl of salad with greens and dressing, a small cup of sauce, a bowl of hummus with olive oil and paprika, and pita bread in a basket. The background includes additional bowls and food items on a wooden table.

Believe the 5 star reviews! Hype is real! Clean, extremely friendly and even more delicious! First tim for us and we loved it! Chicken shawarma plates include rice and two sides. We had the lentil soup( which has a Non-spicy curry flavor), salad and hummus! All of it was well spiced and cooked, and the pitas were amazing and warm! The baklava is crunchy and sweet. All together the best Middle East food we have had in Michigan!!

Lemon chicken Soup, fries, pita, fried Kibbie Bite, Meat Bites - The image shows a plate with two falafel balls, stuffed grape leaves, and a few pieces of stuffed pastry with a drizzle of sauce, alongside pickled green vegetables. A basket of pita bread and a bowl of soup with herbs and oil are also visible. The food appears to be from a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern restaurant, served on a black tray with a white and brown plate.

Being native to Lansing's Westside, venturing out to the Meridian Mall as kid was both rare and a treat. Across Marsh Road from the mall is Central Park Place, still a collection of fairly upscale storefronts. I recall several fond memories of visiting Season's in the shopping plaza to explore their late 80's era modern furniture, trendy novelties, and my favorite- the wall of jellybeans flavors. There were other less fond memories of waiting for my mom as she clothes shopped at Chico's for what seemed like days at a time, but we would hit up Cappuccino Café for a pumpkin bar or brownie as a reward for my patience. Today, Chico's remains but many of the other previous businesses have been replaced over the years. One of the more popular current tenants is Bread Bites Mediterranean Cuisine and Bakery that prides itself in their dough, breads, pies, and other dishes. This family-owned restaurant offers typical Mediterranean fare, but also highlights several authentic dishes from their native Palestine and Lebanon. During both of my visits I saw lots of takeout and online delivery orders, yet plenty of diners also filled tables for lunch. No matter how you're planning to enjoy your meal, you will be greeted by Nadar, who's a maestro in kindness and belonging. Honestly, he should spend time training other restaurants waitstaff in customer service or give pep talks to reception desk staff at many businesses around town. What's Good Bread Bites' Hummus ($6.25) is pungent. It caught both my better half and I off guard with its burst of citrus. The hummus is creamy and smooth, but just stocky enough that I could tell it was authentic and fresh. Our palates are probably too used to "westernized" versions of hummus. The Meat over Hashwe Plate ($15.50) was up and down. The hashwe (rice seasoned with cinnamon, meat, and other spices) had a warm earthiness that served as a shining spot and helped to overshadow the chicken musakhan (marinated in sumac & onions) which was chopped and flavorful, but over cooked in far too many pieces. What's Great There are so many other great dishes at Bread Bites that its truly hard to put menu items into categories this month. The French Fries ($3) with their house made Lebanese seasoned salt are probably better than any fries you've had in 2024. Similarly, the Lemon Chicken Soup ($6.50) is packed with carrots, celery, rice, and chicken with a most vibrant broth. Herbaceous and hearty this soup is perfect for a rainy March afternoon. I've had kibbie (ground beef combined with bulgur wheat, pine nuts, and spices) on multiple special occasions where friends have made it fresh. Whether raw or baked, I'm a fan. The deep-fried Kibbie Bite ($3/each or 4 for $10) at Bread Bites rates with any I've ever had. Crispy with notes of cinnamon and allspice, this kibbie is bound to be on my tray whenever I return again. The dessert options are plentiful and appealing with baklava cheesecake and lady fingers among the choices. We sampled the Rice Pudding ($4.25) which was creamy and light in texture but with firm rice that was neither crunchy nor soggy. Sometimes with rice pudding, the cinnamon is an afterthought just sprinkled on top, but this version has the aromatic yumminess embedded throughout. Add in a hint of rose water and the flavor was through the roof. The traditional Baklava ($2.50) with its' paper-thin layers of phyllo and covered with pistachios and honey was a wholesome sweet treat that provided a lovely accompaniment to the rice pudding. Best Bite As amazing as all the flavors described above are, best bite this month goes to the various breads at Bread Bites. In every form, the doughy delectable was the star of the show. From the warm and fluffy Pita ($5.25/bag) to the stuffed dough with minced meat and onions in the Meat Bite ($2.25) to the zesty and savory Thyme Bite ($2) this isn't the place to count calories but goodness gracious are they tasty! My waistline is glad I live on the westside.

Chicken Shawarma over Rice Plate - A food tray displays a serving of steamed white rice topped with a light sprinkle of seasoning, shredded cooked meat, and a portion of pickled red cabbage. A small red container holds a white sauce or yogurt. In the background, naan bread and hummus are visible, suggesting a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern cuisine setting.

Really great food! The prices are good for a generous portion size. I never knew about this place but happened to see it on the map and decided to give it a try. Will definitely be coming back. The guy working the register is really nice as well. The baklava is also delicious.

Best Chicken Shawarma of my life - Shredded cooked chicken is arranged over a bed of rice inside a white takeout container. The chicken appears tender and is cut into small pieces, with some darker, roasted parts visible. The container is placed on a wooden surface, and the image focuses on the food, which is typical of a takeout meal from a Mediterranean eatery.

OMG. When I walked into this little office park shop, I was not expecting to have the best Chicken Shwarma of my life, but that's what happened. The meat marinade and gentle spicing... wow... first bite to last... just so so so good. The meat in the kibbie also blew me away. Seriously amazing spices and flavors. I can't get over it- why does it have to be so far away from where I live?!?! I need this in a shop near me in NYC.

Pistachio Baklava - Two pieces of pistachio baklava with layered, flaky pastry and a creamy filling are arranged on a black square plate. The baklava is topped with crushed pistachios, and the plate is set on a wooden surface.

Bread Bites has become our favorite restaurant in town as of lately! We discovered them at the Meridian Township Farmers Market, which is now inside the Meridian Mall through the Winter, and we have enjoyed dining in their brick and mortar restaurant down the street many times! Over our many visits, we've enjoyed the chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, chicken Musakhan (sandwich and plate), chicken thyme (plate), beef kafta, chicken kabobs, baked beef kibbie, Armenian beef pie, falafel, veggie samosa, grape leaves, lentil soup, house and fattouch salads, baklava, and baklava cheesecake. The chicken kabobs and chicken Musakhan are tied for my favorite meats, with everything else coming in a close second! We also really love their garlic sauce and salad dressing! Bread Bites will be catering our wedding in March and we cannot wait! If you love flavorful food that is made from scratch, Bread Bites Mediterranean is a MUST-TRY restaurant in 2024!

Just moved into the area and we were looking for a good Mediterranean spot when we found this place. The meat pie was super good and the bites(meat & cheese) were really good as well. Nothing special about the inside of the restaurant as of course you're here for the most important thing, the food. Will definitely be back for more.

Nice service but food does not appeal to me. The falafel was not my taste. It's a shame the owner is nice.

Sloth-like chill attitude encouraged; the hashtag is #letshangtogether. Had fun looking at all the little sloth decor throughout. Lots of light and glass. VERY limited seating; seats about 15 (?) inside; mostly 2 tops and a 6 top. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, permitted to sit where ever we would like, then handed menus. Turkish music playing was just a bit too loud. Hospitality. Friendly and helpful. Owner-chef seemed very happy to be there, singing and engaging with his regulars. Offerings. Basic breakfast and lunch items with Turkish and Mediterranean classics. No flavored lattes but other basic espresso drinks offered. Chai was excellent. It was tasty and even better with the bread they provided. It could've been packaged in a better way because the oil dripped out everywhere by the time we got it home. Maybe a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. The mezze platter was also quite nice, especially the carrot appetizer. The bulgur patties were also flavorful. The artichoke was slightly disappointing because it didn't have any other flavor than salt and vinegar, similar to canned/bottled artichokes. The salad was fresh and the dressing was light. Overall, this was a light and tasty lunch.
