When I tell people I'm going floating, I am not sure this is what they think of. Soak Float is a relaxing experience of floating in saltwater, in silence, in the dark. It's amazing. Staff are always friendly. The business is clean and peaceful. While this is an unusual therapy it's really quite helpful for chronic pain. They suggest three sessions as a way to see if it is goi g to be beneficial and I will say my third float was the best. 90 minutes in the water in the dark with only your thoughts was a frightening prospect and I admit the first float I got antsy at about 75 minutes. So I turned on the light and reset, finishing the 90. My third float I was surprised that it was over, no antsy feelings at all. They now have sauna and cold plunge services as well so I will be trying those at some point. read more

Relaxation to the max here. I first came here when I moved into an apartment that didn't have a bathtub. Little did I know that it was going to be so much better than any epsom salt bath. Coming here has been transformative for me. I leave feeling stress level 0. If the confinements of a tub freak you out trust me it's not scary at all. It takes a little bit to get used to the complete darkness. Darkness and silence doesn't have to be scary it can be the door into your inner self. Can't recommend more! I recommend trying the soak float experience. Sensory deprivation is definitely interesting. I could take it or leave it at any type of business. This is just the only one available in Salem do with that as you will. It's always clean, I would suggest get the three pack. You have to try a few times to be able to fully understand its benefits, but I always walk out of a float cabin feeling better than I do when I walk out of a massage. Something about fully meditating and relaxing to a point where all sore and tense muscles release. Some don't have this experience but it's what I experience! read more

Even tho I was nervous and didn't know what to expect the staff was extremely nice. He explained everything and made me feel comfortable about the whole thing. My first float experience was 2 days ago, and I have 2 more scheduled. So, I don't think I have floating down pat, but it was a pretty cool experience. The center itself is so clean, sleek, and modern. The whole ambiance is soothing. They offer everything you need for a good experience including all kinds of toiletries. Brandon was the guy who introduced me to Soak Float and floating in general, and gave an excellent introduction. He was very thorough but the way he explained everything was perfect and didn't feel like information overload. He gave great tips so I could really attend to the little details to give me the best experience possible. The tank I used was clean and comfortable. I was worried I'd feel claustrophobic but I didn't at all. I wouldn't say the experience was completely transcendent or anything, but for this busy working mom it was very relaxing! What an outstanding first experience. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. I went in with an open mind and left with a mind that was even more open. I am someone who has recently begun practicing meditation. With the float tank, it was extremely easy to drop into the stillness, quiet and healing meditative state. It's hard to explain the amazing feeling of weightlessness but it's truly amazing. I now completely understand why people refer to it as "float therapy". For those who are shy, you'll love the setup at Soak Float Center. They have private bathrooms and showers and they really take care of everything. All you really need to bring is yourself. I feel very fortunate in that the owner, Joe, was in today when I went in for my float. What an incredibly nice guy! If you haven't done so, be sure to read his story on the business website. I had a great experience last week! The environment was very spa like and relaxing and the girl who checked me in was very sweet and explained everything to me simply. I loved my soak experience and getting to turn off for 90 mins from the world and just focus on my heart and my breath. It was great that they had a vanity available for me to get ready and continue on with my day afterwards and I enjoyed that I never felt rushed to move and get out of the door. I'm an experience floater, having floated a few dozen times in various locations (Chicago, Costa Mesa, Portland). It's been a while though -- I've always wanted to float regularly, but never lived close enough to to a float center to make that reasonable. And shazam, here is SOAK right here in Salem! The facility is amazing -- every detail is perfect. A nice front waiting room with tea to start your relaxation. A great relaxing design that's just hip enough to make it feel special. Very spa-like experience. Clean and bright, the rooms are spacious and well appointed for your transition. Thought into every detail -- a robe in case you find yourself needing a restroom run, mirror, space away from the shower to hang your clothes, and a little kit of things you might need (lotion, ear plugs, etc.) Ample shower gel, shampoo and conditioner at the shower, which has LOTS of hand rails which is helpful as I'm sometimes a little like a wet noodle after a good float. Sight unseen I signed up for a 2x/month membership, and I'm glad I did. The float rooms are spacious and perfect, but I can't wait to try the pod next time! Joe, the owner, has put a lot of heart and soul into this venture, and I wish him the best of luck. He was a pleasure to sit and chat with afterwards. (Floating is a great activity for stress relief, and according to many others, pain management. I've found it a challenging but rewarding activity that helps me clear my mind, get a handle on stress, and dig deep into reserves of energy for creative endeavors. It's easy and anyone can do it, but it can take a bit of practice to master the art of letting your mind truly relax. Our appointment was at 1pm. We arrived in the lobby at 12:45pm. We spent ten minutes filling out the waiver forms and paying for our float. We were released to our float cabins, for a 90 minute float at 12:55 pm. We started our float shortly thereafter and the alert that our float was over signaled us at 1:40 pm, which is only half of the purchased 90 minute float. Even though our float ended 50% early my wife was rushed to finish so the attendant could clean the cabins. While leaving we asked the attendant about the timing and she was adamant that we had been floating for 80 minutes. I could understand the attendant making a mistake of five or ten minutes, but in truth she only gave us half the time we paid for. Then with a straight face tried to convince us we used our full allotment of float time. Very unprofessional! read more

THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!! I have been to float centers all over the country, and Soak has been the best experience by far. They are quite generous in that they setting float times at 90 minutes, and for less than the price of floating at other places. I floated for 4.5 hours while I was there and it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life (4.5 hours perhaps not for beginners). The facilities are spectacularly clean and they have impeccable cabins and pods. It's clear the people who work here have a reverence for the profound, consciousness shifting, body balancing experiences that happen inside. This was my first time! I saw this online and decided to google to find a location near me. Read the reviews, saw a couple videos.. and I was sold! Very relaxing. Staff were great, all were very nice and knowledgeable. :) Took me a couple minutes to unwind when I first started. I told myself not to think my schedule and just relax. This was my personal time. First time coming in on a weekend! It's actually busy! During the week it's easy to walk in and float! They have 2 options to choose from pods or cabins, I prefer the openness of the cabins. Absolutely love it here! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The rooms are spacious and come with everything you need for your float. The pods are so cozy and much bigger then they first appear. Plenty of room to stretch out and move. The 90 minutes of floating is plenty of time to fully relax and unwind. The gentle music that plays at the end is the perfect way to wake up! First float was a week ago. My gf and I went to see what it was all about after hearing Joe Rogan talk about it multiple times. First float my mind didn't slow down much, and it took me a long time to acclimate. But after getting out. I felt relieved. Same with my gf. My sleep number bed said that I had slept better that night than any night before. My second float was after a long day at work and I was exhausted. Definitely the best float. Combination of being exhausted and already having my first float under my belt and knowing what to expect is what I figure. I've been 3 times now and love it.
