I've now had several great experiences at Enso with both their hot sauna and float tank. They are super friendly and accommodating and I had such relaxing and revitalizing experiences there. Will definitely be going back! The facility is very clean and they provide everything you need for the session. I was lucky enough to try out the newer sauna room which was very roomy and included a full size cold plunge tub! The sauna itself was very large and included a bucket with ladle so I could add water to the hot rocks. The float tank was super relaxing and had star lights on the ceiling to ease into the sensory deprivation experience. I turned them off right after I got in and was so comfortable floating that I fell asleep for a short time and felt really decompressed and refreshed after the session. I've always wanted to try floating so I'm happy Enso was my first introduction to it. It's extremely relaxing to be in complete silence for 90 minutes and just drift away. My friends complained that it was too long but I thought 90 minutes was perfect. The first 20 mins or so, you're adjusting to silence and darkness but then you drift away and 90 mins is ago. The facility was really nice and they have complimentary tea/water when you first walk in. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the setup and aesthetic of the place. I really enjoyed my time at Enso float. I read a lot about floating and looked around at different float sites when my chiropractor recommended this place to me. I didn't know what to expect as a first time floater but I went there with the intentions of relieving my stress. My husband and I booked the sun room and the earth room. I wish I had known that our rooms weren't close to each other, but it's fine since we were floating on our own. Go here with an open mind and leave with a new experience. Sensory deprivation is probably not for everyone. I am someone who is afraid of the dark. It took a couple of minutes for me to get comfortable and to be able to turn off the floor lights as well as the starlights. I also chose this place because I am claustrophobic. This is my first visit to Enso. Very clean, friendly staffs, easy check in. Amenities such as ear plugs, bath robe, pillows, etc were prepared. They offer first float for $60, and have a holiday special right now, so if you want to try this place out, now is the time. I took 6'x8' tank, and that was a big enough for me (I am 5'2) and they have 8'x8' circle tank, which will give you more enhanced floating experience. (You won't touch anywhere, so you would just float in water and don't feel any sense of the direction, which may or may not be relaxing... If you request before you come in, they can adjust water temp, and I will do warmer next time. 90-minutes is honestly a bit long for me (though this is the standard length for the most of the floats), if they have an option for 60 min, it will be ideal and I would do more often. read more

Floating is such good therapy and Enso is a fantastic environment. I try and float anytime I'm at a spot that has the chambers (not a fan of the pods) and used to be a frequent floater until I moved to a rural spot. Now I float anytime I'm in a city as part of taking care of myself so I've floated in many cities and spots. This is one of the cleanest, most well maintained spots I've ever floated. I've always wanted to try floating, so I was very excited when I was gifted a certificate for 3 uses (price of the certificate is $150). I made an appointment a few days before for one of the round tanks, and brought myself in. First thing, the website says to arrive early, I did so and ended up just waiting until my appointment, so don't do that. Just arrive on time. Anyhoo, the tank and the room its housed in are very posh. You're instructed to completely shower off as to get rid of any oils, make up, or products. After this, you get in the tank, turn off the lights, and fairly quickly the lights in the room and music shut off as well. At first I hated it. Salt in my eyes. Salt in any small cuts. I couldn't find the lights. I couldn't find the exit. I couldn't stand because it's so slippery. When I finally was able to turn the lights on, I nearly got out and gave up. But I gave myself another shot. I laid back down, shut my eyes, and started to relax. Then suddenly the lights and music were back on and physically and mentally I felt great! It was as if no time had passed. Crazy! I won't deny that it DID feel great, but at $65 a use, I'd rather get a massage. I think it's worth trying out, and I can see how some people really love it, but it's just not for me. read more

I did a float after a friend recommended Enso. I feel like I haven't slept in 4 years (I have a 4yo at home) and was really looking forward to the sensory deprivation. The enso float facility is really nice and clean. The tub felt huge. Once I got used to the queasy feeling of constantly moving (I get motion sick easily) I felt my body relax more than I've felt in years. Unfortunately, it was then I started hearing a reverberating banging and clumping noise that continued intermittently throughout the rest of my float time (even though I was wearing earplugs). It felt like I was constant being shocked back awake. When I left my body was relaxed but I actually felt more irritable and less rested than when I came in. I mentioned it to the lovely staff who said she'd look into it if others experienced it too. I would recommend to others and try again if real sound proofing was guaranteed (but I also know that can be hard/impossible). Maybe I just got unlucky. read more

I'm a floating newbie and was a bit apprehensive about the experience. Namely I envisioned a small claustrophobic pod like environment (think creepy pod from Matrix). This new float studio in the Pearl currently has a fantastic buy one get one free float (two 90 minute floats for $80) so I thought why not. I came in exhausted having just worked a string of overnight shifts and wasn't sure what to expect. The studio itself is fantastic. I love the modern esthetic and the rooms are incredibly clean and well organized. Much to my delight I was placed in a spacious tub where I could completely stretch out and not touch a wall. The room was warm and the water was a perfect temp. No creepy pods here. The salt water felt fantastic. I'm a total insomniac and actually felt myself drift off to sleep towards the end, which is a miracle in itself. Everything is provided- slippers, a cushy robe, towels, ear plugs, something to clean the salt out of your ears, even an A and D ointment pack for minor cuts. There's also a super nice shower in the room with soap, shampoo, and conditioner, as well as lotion. Can't recommend this place enough! Would love it if they had massages too, but otherwise this place is perfect! read more

My husband and l traveled from New Mexico for our two year wedding anniversary trip (Seattle, Port Angeles, and Portland) here and absolutely loved our experience at Enso Float! We like to do a spa or float to relax before vacation. We have floated before in Nevada (NV Float) for 60 min and was looking forward to floating for 90 min at Enso Float. We could have done two hours and I'm surprised! I was worried about 90 min. The owner was so accommodating and helpful! I loved the little head thing you use to float. That was better than what we used in the past. The rooms are so modern and the design was very detailed. We appreciate all of the personal touches throughout the room like slippers, q-tips, robe, shampoo and lotion ect. ! My float was so relaxing and weeks later l still close my eyes and feel weightless and complete serenity! If we lived here we would do the membership at Enso Float. Great pricing as well! I even bought some of the rose oil and soaps for a fantastic deal by the owner ;) Lastly, l was super impressed that there was a side room to blow dry my hair! It's the little things that matter. This Afro is not gonna dry itself that quickly so this #blackgirlmagic is gonna need a little help. So l was able to dry my hair on a cold setting of hair, which is ideal, not too much heat just cool air and l was ready to go on my dinner date with my hubby without looking like a wet dog lol We can't say enough positive things about Enso Float! Great float place! I'm a fairly experienced floater and mostly go to Float On, but Enso Float is much closer to my work so I wanted to give it a try. It's a great environment, very nice facilities- modern and clean. Friendly staff. Nice tanks. I'm definitely going to start going here during the week if not for all my floats. As for floating, it's pure magic. I've done yoga and meditation for years, spent time at ashrams, and have never experienced the depth and breadth of relaxation that comes from floating. After doing a little research, I decided to try out Enso Float. The experience is indescribable. The place itself is very clean with showers, soaps, shampoo and conditioner to use before and after your float. The idea of a coffin-like, sensory deprivation chamber is a little terrifying but this place is nothing like that. The rooms are open and allow you to control the level of light. I chose the "Moon Room" because I wanted to option of floating under stars. From a logistics standpoint, I'd recommend bringing a hairbrush and deodorant for after your post-float shower. If you wear contact lenses, you should probably opt for your glasses for travel to/from your float. read more

The environment was very relaxing and the gentleman working the desk before the float was very welcoming. But when I called last week to schedule two floats for Monday & explained that I was planning a 13 year anniversary get away for my incredible husband who has been taking care of our 3 kids, his mom who was battling breast cancer and me who has been juggling numerous surgeries & health issues the past year the owner selflessly offered to open just for us today! I'm so glad he did! So glad in fact that I decided to do my first ever Yelp review! As part of my homeopathic therapy my Naturopath has me do salt water sensory deprivation floats 1-2 times a week (for adrenal dysfunction, chronic pain, PTSD, etc) so when I was planning our trip to Portland I HAD to get my husband some tank time. I found Enso and it looked amazing plus I wanted to try to open Float style tanks. My regular float spa back in WA has actual tanks and I love them but thought this would be cool to try. Enso was clean, tranquil and so relaxing! I chose to turn off all the lights for total darkness but for people who are new to floating, may be claustrophobic, etc the open concept tanks with the mood lighting are perfection! If you haven't tried floating yet, stop reading this and get to Enso immediately! Floating helps restore balanced magnesium which is LIFE. It helps rewire the brain to relax and to begin producing happy endorphins again. This is an addictive experience and I'm hooked. I have a regular meditation practice and came here initially thinking it would be a great meditation experience- 90 minutes floating in perfect silence and darkness. I found it difficult to meditate in my usual manner - but what I found it's great for is absolute, complete relaxation. I watch where my mind goes but I don't try to meditate - in the conventional fashion, anyway. It's more than relaxing, it's deeply rejuvenating and an intimate dive into your own most restful inner self. I guess that's meditation after all! This was my first time ever floating and I was very nervous. The owner immediately put me at ease and talked me through the whole experience prior to going in. The pools are really nice and the entire facility is really well laid out. There is plenty of soap and shampoo and conditioner to clean up afterwards. The ear plugs and q tips were a nice touch. There is a very cute makeup counter that has room for multiple people to sit down at after the float and get ready for a night out. I would definitely recommend this experience for couples or a group of friends to go do a float and then a night out in the Pearl. Very relaxing and calming. read more
