I love the queer friendly days, and for a nice spa/sauna type joint. It's relatively affordable.

Overall, I really enjoy the Everett House. It's a lovely space to decompress, get a good soak in, and just relax. There are two things I experience there fairly regularly that spoil the experience a bit and keep me from giving a 5-star rating. First, there have been way too many times where I've been there and there were too many people in for me to be able to get into the soaking pool. The management team really needs to do a better job of making sure there aren't too many people scheduled. If it were just a one-time occurrence that would be one thing. But it happens WAY too often. Second, this is supposed to be a space for quiet and relaxation; people are asked not to be too loud. And yet, again, fairly regularly it happens that people do get really loud (even during supposed quiet times) to the point where I have to get loud myself in order to be heard by anyone I happen to be there with. It would be nice if someone from the staff would come by regularly to the soaking area and remind people to keep it down. read more

I deliberately scheduled a visit on "Women's Only" day. I do not feel comfortable sharing space with men in this vulnerable position due to personal reasons. I was in the hot tub when a person walked in completely nude with male genitalia. I support transgender people. However, This person was not trans. There was nothing feminine about them except for their long hair. I left immediately. Please don't falsely advertise that it's a women's only space when it' not. read more

Imagine you're surrounded by tranquil individuals, soaking in hot water while raindrops fall from above. After some soaking you get to enjoy the sauna and steam room. A quick dip in the cold plunges sends your body into instant relaxation mode. After some time laying underneath the sky you're ready for another soak. We had a very mixed experience here. My husband got it for me as a gift, a couples massage. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful, she was amazing. The massage experience was, um, interesting... We were in the same room, I had a male therapist and my husband had the female. My massage therapist was odd. We were talking about what I was looking for and I said I liked a lot of intense pressure. He responded, not smiling, "I don't do pain." Um, I wasn't asking for S and M, just a deep pressure massage. He also insisted I have a sheet over me. Maybe that's the business' policy but I go to a massage therapist at my chiropractor who doesn't insist on this. I am very hot natured. So I was already a bit put off and going in with an attitude, and the therapist was most definitely having an attitude. I will say he gave me one of the best massages I've ever had, it was obvious he was quite skilled, but one part where he did my lower back was actually extremely painful. So 10 on skills, 3 on personality. My husband said his massage therapist was too rough for him. The music they played was very somber, dark sounding, violin and cello music. I felt like I was in an episode of Dark Shadows, my husband said it reminded him of 6 Feet Under. Not exactly romantic. It was...interesting...and it did relax us. But we both said we doubt we would go back. Also, the booking process is a nightmare. Tons of paperwork and complexity, ugh. read more

As you can see from my prior reviews, I've been going here for over a decade. In our post-Covid world and in 2025 especially, I cannot be more grateful for Everett House and the staff. I'm once again a regular for women's only time each Sunday from 9-3, and I go for the whisper time of the early morning. There is NOTHING like the quiet sanctuary of women's only time at the sauna Sunday mornings, even though some new clients don't see the signage and talk in regular voices. I always schedule my visits in advance and recognize that different days, different times of day, all of that will affect the mix of patrons and clients at the sauna. That said, I'm also a semi-regular for years and understand people are people. I love Everett House and most of the other folks who are seeking a holistic environment in which to experience the modalities of heat, water, steam, fresh air, and sanctuary as a whole human. The staff of Everett House have always been supportive of me and other attendees and I can't say enough about them either. The Everett House has been a spiritual home for me and part of my evolution as a Portlander since I moved here back in summer of 2008. I continue to be grateful for the staff and space and the other women especially who are regulars Sunday morning. I was visiting Portland for the first time by way of Los Angeles. I'm queer and a massage therapist so safe spaces are very important to me. I went this past Tuesday morning which just happened to be their LGBTQIA+ only time from 9am-1pm. I felt incredibly safe and cared for and the space was very clean and respectful. I did the 60 minute pass and I wish I had done the 90 minute. The ease to move from one area to the next was so delightful. If you're looking for a safe place to unwind then I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Portland. read more

Booking needs love, there's enough comments for that. Look, I'm liberal--we're on the same team. But when I go to a spa, I'm trying to relax. I come to step away from the constant noise of the world--news, politics, trauma, all of it. So when the first thing I see at the door is a sign that says "White Supremacy Is Terrorism"--even though I agree--it hits more like a protest than a welcome. It pulls me right back into everything I'm trying to take a break from. As a gay person, I come here to feel peace. To breathe. And I've always appreciated the kindness and care I've received from the staff--it's what's kept me coming back for years. The massage was incredible, as always. I just wish the overall vibe--the messaging scattered throughout the space--felt more like the people who work here: grounded, warm, and genuinely healing. Right now, it sometimes comes off like the loud, angry stereotype of Portland's "activist energy," and it doesn't match the experience I know this place is capable of offering. I live in NE Portland and have been to the Everett House several times over the last decade. I'd recommend the facilities to anyone, but the process of booking anything there now is just absurd. When everything works the way it should, it takes about a half hour to set up the appointment; when it doesn't, you have no choice but to handle the problem over text message. Not only do they refuse to answer the phone, they refuse even to acknowledge that you've asked to speak on the phone. It took me two hours and 64 text messages to schedule a massage and spa appointment for a Mother's Day package I had purchased for my partner (a task they said their system wasn't set up to handle). There are other Portland-area wellness facilities that use the same Mindbody service Everett does. Most of the time, when you're booking single appointments for yourself, that service is just fine. But if you're trying to do anything even slightly more complicated--like book a couple's massage or an appointment for another person--it can be really difficult to work with. Businesses seem to understand this, which is why they're willing to pick up the phone for two minutes to treat you like a real person and help you through the process. I LOVE the Everett House! It is an extremely affordable way to wind down and treat yourself to a little spa day. I've gone once during coed hours which was fine, but I prefer going during women's only hours on Sundays. Definitely do not miss the second house with the steam room and small hobbit sauna. If you prefer a more quiet atmosphere, this house is considered the silent area. I tend to find myself spending a majority of my time here. The main house can be more lively and social, with a large sauna and beautiful outdoor area with a soaking pool, fire pit, cold tubs, and outdoor showers. The soaking pool can get a bit crowded sometimes which is awkward but I love the outdoor showers. If you're a women and are hesitant about it being clothing optional, I would definitely go on a Sunday morning first to try it out. read more

The Everett House is amazing!!!!! Last minute decision to go soak on a Sunday afternoon. The website was not very user friendly so I called and they were more than happy to set everything up for us. Our party just had to go on to their website to submit a waiver and credit card. Pro tip: they prefer to communicate via text message. We were running about 15 minutes late and they ended up pushing our session out 30 minutes so we wouldn't lose any time. SO accommodating, I definitely wasn't expecting that. Upon arrival, we gave the receptionist our IDs and cell phone. They secure them in individual pouches. Appreciate the reassurance knowing that no one inside the spa has a phone considering this spa is co-ed and clothing optional. We happened to book during women only hours which we were very happy about! Sundays 10AM - 3PM. A 90 minute soak sesh ran about $30 (which also included access to the sauna), towels and wraps were an additional $3. The cold tubs were not accessible the last weekend of February. There is outdoor bar by the soaking pool with different tea, waters and kombuchas for sale, they will add it to your tab. The soaking pool is in a beautiful outdoor patio surrounded by trees. Even with light rain, it was absolutely comfortable and relaxing. 12/10 recommend. read more

After thoroughly reading through their mind map, I went to sign in and it was just one obstacle after another. My review will encompass 2 aspects of The Everett House Community center. Massage: I had the best massage I have ever had in my life at the Everett House. I have had more than one of the best massages of my life at the Everett House. Their masseuses are extremely well trained, intuitive, and exceptionally gifted at their profession. at an excessively affordable price of $100 for a one hour massage you can have a life changing experience and you don't have to go through the hoops and whistles of trying to get something done through an insurance company. I am an older individual and have had more than my share of broken bones and injuries and I am not over stating the fact when I say as a result of my massage I am in less pain now than I have been in a very long time. Everything about this place is gentle, healing and very Zen. now onto the spa... The Everett House spa may not be for everyone only because clothing is optional. I'm just gonna put that right up there at the front so no one is misled. That being said: There are no cell phones. There are no cameras. no one is ever rude, intrusive... Proof of Covid vaccination is required and masks are required as well at reception and during personal massage. Feel free to leave your swimsuit on, no one will even notice. I personally find it liberating to be able to be in an atmosphere where I can experience nudity in a nonsexual environment. The spa is an oasis of healing, and has helped me immensely in processing grief following the death of my mother. My life partner who has never been naked except at home, like to go in there so much that they too got an annual membership. ...for the very affordable price of $125 a month you can schedule a 90 minute spa appointment every day of the week for that membership. You can also do a one time visit for as little as $17.50. there is an exquisite tea garden in the main spa area. All drinks are very affordably priced. The entire spa is kept impeccably clean and their staff are the finest people I have ever had the pleasure to interact with. There is not a single individual who works there who has not met me with a much needed calm, gentleness and empathy and professionalism. The Everett House is a bit of a legacy in Portland. It has been an operation for over 40 years. The spa has two separate saunas one of which is quiet. Beautifully tiled bathrooms, dressing rooms that are inviting and clean. And self setting lockers that require nothing from you but to place your items inside step through the door and enjoy your spa. The steam room is fantastic. The cold plunge tubs in the main garden near the spa itself are fantastic. And the beautifully tiled spa with waterfall: what can I say but the Jets work every single one of them work beautifully and give you that extra little massage that goes you that you go away feeling was worth the trip in and of itself. read more

When I travel, I make a point to seek out great places to soak and steam. From here on out, I will be making a pilgrimage to Everett House whevenever in Portland. PROS * It felt safe and entirely non-skeezy. * Truly co-ed, right down to changing areas, so no one need misgender themselves by gendering to begin with. * Lovely facility. * Solid, privacy-and-non-ick-factor policies with an easy, online waiver process. CONS * While the no sunglasses policy made sense to me out of an abundance of concern for privacy, the lack of a shade screen over at least some of the hot tub did not and it made our time there less enjoyable for sure. * A shade screen would've also kept most of the pine needles from dropping into the tub, and those were a constant nuisance. * Jets needed to be refreshed every ten minutes or so, and the button location meant that someone always had to get out and walk past the showers to hit it. * The aggressively nonslip texture of the entire tub made seating surfaces less comfortable, and sometimes even uncomfortable. * The steam room was out of order during our visit, unfortunately. With all that said, I'd give a full five stars if they just put in a shade screen over part of the tub. Sensitive eyes, sensitive skin, and no sunscreen due to washing appropriately are not a winning combo for full sun whilst in or around water, in my opinion. PLEASE ADD SHADE! read more

This was my first time to Everett and everyone was incredibly nice! The person who checked me in was understanding and helped me with my spa hours since I got there late. They helped me get my towel, sarong and flip flops easily. They also explained the layout of the place well, even helping me understand where the clocks and water fountains are. I found the whole experience welcoming and inviting! The BEST part of my experience was my deep tissue massage with Zara. I went in feeling stressed, in pain and worn out. I left feeling relieved and really listened to. She spent time talking with me to understand why I was there, what I wanted done and what my concerns were. Zara does real body work; she listens to you and your body and responds to your particular body; nothing is formulaic. I finally, after years and years of lame massages, got real body work done. Self care is a personal responsibility and personal journey. The Everett House has brought me so much healing, joy, and confidence. Mentally, emotionally and physically. The energy of the staff and a majority of the patrons are respectful, kind, and caring. Every time I come here I leave with so much self love and peace. There are specific time slots for women only and for the LBGTQ+++++ community which I have found to be incredibly rewarding due to being very sound sensitive and it just seems that it's much quieter than during general hours. There are also time slots for quiet hours and for silent hours. But, I have yet to experience those times due to being set so late in the evening. Maybe I'll have to wander in there after work some day. I love this place. That is all. read more

Absolutely one of the best places in the city to care for yourself. Everett House is provided so much peace and healing in my life. I used to visit on a regular basis, and suggest going for at least 90 minutes to get a few cycles of soaking sauna and steam. I have gone here for couples and solo massage and both were excellent. My former partner did not enjoy the massage he got (too bad for that man! I cannot remember which therapist he signed up with) but the massage that I had by Aaron was one of the best of my life! The facilities are cozy, not too crowded and have such nice, bohemian touches. There are spas that have a more austere, sterile aesthetic, but I am fond of the warm, earthy and home-like environment of Everett House. Common Grounds has been my local goto sauna, I recently experienced Everett for the first time. The front desk staff was efficient and very pleasant. Prices seem a touch higher than CG, but it all depends on when you go, memberships, happy Hour, etc. The place overall felt clean, but not sterile. It has a more tranquil feel than CG, and it's definitely larger. To my pleasant surprise they had two cold plunge tubs which IMO are essential to feeling invigorated. The sauna, steam, and dry sauna are all moderate in size. If there's too many guests on the property then you'll make the waitlist. The changing rooms are spacious. The Tea Room was a very pleasant surprise, calm and aesthetically pleasing. I think I may switch my preferred choice based on this one visit. No pictures as cell phones aren't allowed. read more

The therapists and "front office" folks use facilities and weird to see people that treated you nude. Be more professional and have staff hours. Setting up an appointment was a little complicated online but they did provide an option to give them a text/call at the number they provided during the appointment set up confirmation. After reaching out to them, they quickly got back to me to confirm my appointment time. Going there was a bit nerve wracking since I've never been to a spa similar to this but the staff there made me and my partner feel comfortable and knowledgeable of all the amenities provided. We paid $35 for 90 mins/person, along with a towel rental of $2/towel. The spa house has a hot tub, isolation tank, steam/sauna, and a little tea garden to purchase drinks from during your time there. Overall the experience, people, and amenities (along with the price you pay) was very worth it and made my trip to Portland very memorable :) read more

I finally tried Everett house with my friend and her visiting mom for the first time. I REALLY wanted to try on my birthday last year, but was a no-go due to COVID. As a first-timer, I was texted a link to a waiver that requested my contact info, etc. before our spa appointment time later in the evening. I filled the form out on my phone, hit submit, and nothing happened. I hit submit a few more times, and nothing. GROAN. I figured the link didn't work on mobile devices, so I hand-typed the URL into my laptop to fill it out again. I fill it out again and submitted. My friend chose to wait to fill out the form until we got there, but I filled out the form for my friend's mom. Oddly enough, when I hit submit, it said "Account for ______ already exists!" even though she had NEVER visited Oregon before... she definitely had never created an account before. FYI -- they require masks in the lobby and inside when not using the facilities. The front desk told me they couldn't find record of me submitting my waiver which annoyed me as I had already done this two times. The said the same thing for my friend's mom even though their form said her account already existed. She had to fill out a second time. We were able to stay the full-hour despite the hold up though. They offer drinks (CBD, kombucha, water, tea, etc.) and towels for purchase/rental fee. Towels are $2 to rent. We changed in the co-ed locker room first. I forgot it's nude-optional and co-ed some nights, but still chose to wear a bathing suit. Mostly everyone else outside of our party was naked -- both dudes and chicks. I didn't mind, and thankfully my friend's mom was a good sport. There are showers that don't get that hot in the locker room as well as a dry sauna we had no idea about until our time was almost up. We spent most of our time outside. I was surprised to find only one hot tub (for some reason, I thought there were several), but it was decently-sized. It can squeeze maybe 15 people or space smaller groups out. We spent most of our time between the hot tub and the two clawfoot "ice" baths. There was no ice, but they were cold as hell! They must be on timers as they auto-fill with cold water. I really loved these -- especially being outdoor while the fire is going. By the end, I was drying off by that firepit under the trees. This was such a healing experience. We popped into the dry sauna and rinsed off in the showers before changing and heading back to the lobby. You pay at the end -- $25 each for a one-hour spa session. Pretty decent price, possibly a monthly thing for me. The dude behind the desk had a bit of an attitude when he asked my friend to put her mask on and urged her to go outside if she didn't want to wear it... as she was literally putting it on as it was clearly a mistake. I mean, she just got out of relaxing at a spa -- can you blame her for not being on point at that moment? I didn't like his tone. Love the spa, but the front desk was not the best. "Relaxation Station" is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about my experience at the healing house. I came here for the first time to try out the float tank and get in some good soak and sauna time as well. This place is a very special treat. The atmosphere here is ultra soothing. Clothing optional. Most people here do not wear any clothes and it isn't uncomfortable at all. In fact it feels pretty normal. The float experience was phenomenal. The water temp was just right. I thought I may feel claustrophobic but I had no problem at all. All the pressure I had on my lower back went away and I felt very at ease and peaceful. At first I thought my neck was a little stiff. I tried using the pillow but I couldn't get it to stay. It kept slipping out from under my neck. Then I remember someone saying to put your arms above your head. I did this and felt wonderful. I found this to be the perfect position. They offer ear plugs but I found I didn't need them. The facility here is amazing. After my one hour in the float tank I spent some time in the sauna, steam room, and spa. The grounds here are quite large and spacious. The float house has its own steam room and sauna. Both are relatively small but I like this. It helped keep them nice and warm and up to temp. The steam room was very steamy! I actually stayed close to the door in this one because I wanted to make sure I could find my way out. Very clean. Smelled refreshing. I think they used some aromatherapy oil. Everyone uses a towel to sit on for the steam room and sauna. I brought two towels. One for use around the facility and one for a final shower. You can purchase a towel while you are there or bring your own. I highly recommend two towels as the first one gets wet fast. There is another sauna located downstairs from the spa. It is a little larger. The outdoor spa was nice and spacious. Outdoor showers are available. The jets are nice and hard and a soothing waterfall is placed in the center. I loved my experience here and can't wait to come back. Next time I hope to try a massage! read more

I was visiting friends and family in Portland for our first "post"-Covid vacation and wanted a treat-myself afternoon. I found Everett House and waivered on coming because I was worried about the co-ed nudity, as I don't have a lot of experience with nude facilities. I saw they had an open massage spot which comes with some spa time and decided to just go for it (60 min massage + 60 minutes in the co-ed spa). I was warmly greeted by the person at the front desk. Masks are currently required indoors unless in the sauna or shower. I said I was a little nervous and they informed me that there was not a lot of people here today, and it was a good mix of new people and old-timers and people of all body types/genders (I am a plus sized woman so her mentioning this really helped). This was true - in fact for most of my time in the spa I was the only person around. I chose to wrap a sarong around my whole body while moving about the facility until I was ready to get into a pool/tub. I did run into some folks changing and one individual in the sauna but they left pretty shortly after I came in, and the sauna was pretty dark anyway. I imagine post-business day hours the place is a lot busier - I was there 2-4:15 pm. Some of the spaces were closed off to guests due to a facilities attendant who is currently living in one of the houses needing privacy. The spa itself is fairly small - I had access to the sauna, two open showers in the inside area, a hot tub, and the cold plunge pool. I was mostly interested in getting from the sauna to the cold plunge tub to get the positive effects of the temperature contrast. I was able to do this, but it took a long time to fill up the cold plunge tub and I felt like I lost a little bit of the sauna heat during the tub fill-up time. There also wasn't an easy way to go back and forth between the cold plunge tub and sauna multiple times if you are trying to do that because the tubs are single use, so you must empty/rinse them after each plunge. The hot tub was great. There is a button adjacent to the outdoor showers that turns on the jets to the tub. The outdoor showers had a rainfall-esque head that were just lovely. A note - I did not see shampoo/conditioner available in either the outdoor or indoor showers, although there was body soap available. I was hoping to be able to take a full shower but ended up just rinsing off. I wish this had been mentioned on the website. I had a massage with Brittany who was warm, kind, and listened to my concerns. She offered cupping which I had never done before and opted to try (weird, but great). I wish I had opted for a longer massage! Overall I left feeling bummed that I don't have access to this kin of facility in my city. Cannot wait to visit Portland again soon! read more

I've been coming to Everett House for a few years now. I like that they have women and LGBTQ hours, however the amount of conversations happening at once in the spa made it hard to feel calm, even with earplugs in. I also was surrounded by long dark hair in the water which wasn't pleasant. It wasn't the best experience. read more

The Everett house is am absolute blessing, I go at least once a month for spa time and the entire place is clean, beautiful, tranquil, inclusive and enchanting!
