The complicated process of making an appointment to visit
    Olya S.

I have spent 20+ minutes trying to book an appointment to just come and use the spa. I have never experienced this level of unnecessary complexity using another MindBody service. After thoroughly reading through their mind map, I went to sign in and it was just one obstacle after another. I can't imagine this is accessible for people with any neurodivergence at all!

I love the queer friendly days, and for a nice spa/sauna type joint. It's relatively affordable.

I do not recommend The Pool & Spa House for pool maintenance, repair, or product sales. Despite…read moretheir many retail locations, their knowledge of pool equipment and proper maintenance is extremely limited, and they frequently recommend unnecessary services and expensive replacements. We used them for years simply because we didn't know better. One of our earliest red flags should have been when we hired them to balance our water. Two days later, the pool was completely cloudy and burned everyone's eyes. I watched the technician pour in gallons of muriatic acid -- something I now know will crash pH to unsafe levels. That was our first clue that they were not the experts they claimed to be. We continued using them, even replacing an expensive piece of equipment at their recommendation. But the final straw was when our heater stopped working and displayed a "lo flow" error. Hayward heaters can throw that error for many reasons -- up to 13 different causes -- yet the technician didn't even check the heater. He took one quick visual look around and immediately tried to convince me that I needed to replace the sand in our filter, which costs thousands of dollars. When I repeatedly asked him to actually inspect the heater (the actual equipment with the error), he reluctantly opened it, said he "didn't see anything wrong," and then became rude, aggressive, and defensive about his "years of experience." After he left, we called another company. They found the real issue in minutes: the flow switch simply needed adjustment. If I had listened to the Pool & Spa House tech, I would have spent thousands of dollars and still had a broken heater. Their retail stores are also extremely predatory. They refuse to sell basic pool chemicals unless you provide your full address and personal information -- something they claim is "policy," even though it's not required by any state or federal regulation. It's simply for tracking and upselling. I still tried to buy from them to support local business, but even when I tried to buy stabilizer they argued with me about the amount I wanted, tried to push additional products I didn't need, and eventually refused to sell to me when I declined to give my address. People should know: you don't need all the specialized products they push. You can easily maintain your own pool using the Trouble Free Pool method with basic chemicals like borax, muriatic acid, chlorine, and baking soda -- all available at local locations that carry pool supplies like Ace Hardware in Happy Valley and Milwaukie for much less. What you do need is a company that can diagnose equipment issues correctly and honestly. For that, go to Classic Pool Spa & Hearth. Their technicians actually know what they're doing, they don't upsell, and they've saved us money and unnecessary repairs. I will say the people who answer the service line at The Pool & Spa House are very kind -- but unfortunately, kindness doesn't make up for poor training, aggressive sales tactics, and inaccurate technical advice.

My testing strips were out of date by only a few months, but it made a difference when I bought new strips and it read the right reading of chemicals that were in my pool. It was Brian that figured it out. I couldn't have got my pool cleared and able to use if he hadn't figured what was going on. When he gave me the right chemical it only took 1 1/2 hours to clear up. Thank you Brian.

After dealing with one of the large retail‑heavy pool companies, we switched to Classic -- and honestly wish we had started with them from day one. Their customer service is exceptional. When you call, the schedulers actually know pool systems well enough to walk through real troubleshooting steps before booking an appointment. That alone sets them apart. We had ongoing issues with our pool heater, and not only did their tech fix the equipment problem, he took the time to look at our entire setup. He discovered that our gas meter wasn't sized correctly for both the home and the pool. Because of his recommendation, NW Natural came out (for free) and replaced the meter (also free). Our pool has been running better ever since. They also appreciated that we handle our own water maintenance -- no judgment, no upselling, just genuine support and professionalism. Classic Pool Spa & Hearth is a company with integrity, expertise, and great people. Don't waste time with other companies. Get a second opinion from Classic; it will save you money and frustration.

The two-person crew were friendly and personable and our spa water was drained, re-filled and in good balance when they left. BUT the entire spa enclosure: walls, glass French door windows, sides of the spa and surrounding wooden deck was a mess of splattered white chemical spots EVERYWHERE. I was afraid it would not come off, so I had to scrub every surface on my hands and knees, etc, to get it back to normal. I called to complain and sent a photo, but have received no follow-up even though I was told the manager would be notified. Also, there was no promised follow-up regarding possible replacement of a spa neck pillow that was worn out. I'm left with the impression that this company does not care.

Results it what really matters!…read more I am a rough case, I had been receiving chiropractic from a highly respected chiropractor for the last five years. He was wonderful, I always had good results but the waiting and the drive was too much. Also, the results were fair to good, but not great. So, I went to Dr. Mantell, because I was looking for someone who also did Network Chiropractic and was on the east side with little wait. I was really impressed with the initial review. He did a thorough intake, x-rays, pictures, scans and then talked it over with me. At my last chiropractor, the wait was at-least an hour, at Common Ground there was no wait! This is the most efficient run chiropractic office I have ever seen. After 10 weeks of treatment the results are outstanding, I feel much better than I have in 7 years. He asks for a big commitment in order to get results, part of it is financial, part of it is a leap of faith, and part of it is a time commitment to make the investment. He is very direct with you about this and almost feels like a "sell" but I now see that it was about making a commitment to get results. I am really impressed on how they run the office and the great staff. I rarely wait more than five minutes and most of the time it is a zero wait. I am impressed that they also have massage therapists do mini-massages after your treatment to make sure the adjustment stays. Finally, it is clear that Dr. Mantell wants my business, he is very focused in his approach. It is clear he works hard to get my business and keep it through a results based process. I do believe he really cares about his patients. I also wanted to point out is is clear he keeps himself up to date with all the practices and different approaches. Finally, I am thankful to the entire staff for taking the extra effort to make me and my family better. I am very grateful!

The chiropractor also reinforced this after meeting with me. Saying I was in stage 2 and needed to see him twice a week. My family friend chiropractor told me this was b.s. I don't believe in scare tactics from my healers. Not ok. Also, if you decided not to continue service, the chiropractor will not leave you alone-- I received multiple calls, texts and emails. Service providers should respect your decisions about your own health. I felt bombarded and harassed.
