This is why the line was not as long as it typically is. They were out of brisket, ribs, and sausage when we were able to order. One should go about an hour earlier if they want to get those. This place is so worth it. The turkey was 12/10. It was nothing like I have ever had. It had flavor and was juicy like chicken. The pulled pork was 10/10. The slaw was not much to my liking but the beans and potato salad were good. There were cups for free water. They had vinegar, normal, espresso, and spicy barbecue sauce. I do not normally like barbecue sauce but Franklins is great. The spicy one was perfect. Overall, I thought waiting an hour was great. With the food we were able to get I understood why people wait hours. I recommend bringing a water for the wait and comfortable shoes while you wait in line.

So I finally decided to go try Franklins and brave the line. I arrived on a weekday at 1130am and…read morethe line was not bad. Maybe an hour. I love how people are giving this place a 1 star because they are popular and the line is long sometimes, I mean come one so stupid. This place is small and it's amazing how they can crank out as much bbq as they do. It's impressive. I got almost to the front of the line around 1230pm and they were already almost out of ribs, so go early. I got a 1/2lb of Brisket, 1/4lb of turkey, 3 bones of ribs, and one link of the jalapeño cheddar sausage, my side I did was potato salad. I'll give my honest review down below on each item. Brisket- 1000/10, best I have ever had. It was well seasoned, juicy, smoky, fatty in the right way and just so tender and delicious. Spectacular. Turkey- another 1000/10, it's so juicy and and tender. They season it but not heavily which is great since Turkey is a mild tasting meat. I would definitely get this again! Ribs- 6/10, and I love ribs. To me the seasoning on these was so thick it just overpowered the taste of the pork. All I could taste was pepper on it. It was good but I would personally pass on this item next time. Sausage- 1000/10, again so good. It was spicy due to the jalapeños but not overly, the cheese was nice and there was a good snap to the casing. The smoke added a nice touch to the fattiness of the sausage. Potato salad- 3/10, to me this was not a good take on potato salad. Not much texture in it like celery or something like that and all I could taste was vinegar. I like acid in my food but this is all I could taste. So it wasn't for me. Overall when I go next time I will be loading up on brisket, turkey and sausage! These items are amazing, maybe try another side, their beans looked really good. GO OUT AND EAT SOME BBQ!!

Its dramatic...in a good way! We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and our friend wanted a drink from Tiki Tatsu Ya, a rum Barrell. So, we granted her wish. The over-the-top atmosphere makes Tiki Tatsu Ya truly unique. It's distinctive and memorable. It's colorful, laden with jungle-like items and items dropping from the ceiling on steroids. This was an ideal stop for my friend's birthday train. We had been to a sushi restaurant for dinner, stopping here for her rum barrel and then going to the Broken Spoke for some boot scooting. Service was excellent. All servers appeared to dress in the jungle like theme and super friendly. Very authentic... This Rum Barrel was a bit pricey but was supposed to be enough for 4 people. I only had a sip. The drink was a secret blend of rum, aged sake, spices, and tropical juices. The barrel was massive. Our friend was pleased! Then we were off to the next location.

Service was just meh. They were quick but something just felt off. Like there was a sense of urgency to leave whenever coming to our table. Food was also just okay. The portions were very small. Even the shareable / appetizers were enough for one person, which we resorted to. They were also out of some things we wanted to try on the menu but weren't notified until awhile after ordering it that they've been out of that item for a while now. It wasn't noted on the menu either. The drinks however were the real stars of the show. They were well presented, tasted great, and had a good amount of liquor in each one. The final shots we took after several drinks, that were served on a cute and smokey little boat, were our favorite. Also note, they only split the bill up to 3 ways evenly, not itemized so we had to coordinate with Venmo/zelle/cashapp-ing the primary payor and did our own paybacks accordingly. The ambiance was very interactive and entertaining. If you've ever been to rainforest cafe, this place reminded me of the adults only version of it. In the end, we were still hungry and walked to shake shack after. Overall I'd give it a 4/5 for the sake of coming here at least once for the experience.

We filled it out and chose our pickup time. We saw the truck in a parking lot, we parked and walked up to the ordering/pickup window. We told the person at the window that we placed an order online and she let us know that it wasn't working. So she asked if she could take our order. We agreed, placed our order, and paid. She let us know that it would take about 10-15 minutes as there were orders in front of ours. It wasn't a problem. We just walked around a little bit and before we knew it our food was ready so we took our bag of food and went home to eat. Initially I intended to order the Mañanera Burger but it was not available. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I usually eat my onion rings with ketchup but I didn't need any. The onion rings were tasty on their own. Overall this food truck had delicious burgers and onion rings. The service was good despite the online ordering system not working. It was a very filling and tasty dinner.

From speaking with Tony Jr. today, they also have a restaurant in Pflugerville. I ordered jerk chicken, which fell off the bones and came with cabbage, rice and peas and plantain. I have traveled to Jamaica a couple of times, this Jamaican food was the real deal. The jerk chicken was a bit spicey but not set your tongue on fire spicey. The rice and peas along with the cabbage was perfectly seasoned. The standout for me was the sweet plantain, spoken like a plantain connoisseur. The plantain was sweet on the inside and slightly charred on the outside...perfect combination. The only improvement would have been for me to get a side of plantain. My food was delivered fast and hot. Tony Jr. was super personable and friendly. There is seating in the center of the food truck park. You hear tunes being played in the background. The food truck park is at the core of East Austin in a semi-residential area. Street parking is available for diners. I look forward to trying curry goat and oxtails and more.
