For mother's day, we chose Snooze in La Jolla and we left stuffed. The place has such a cool, upbeat energy and crowded. For drinks, we got Good Morning Margarita which was spot on abd light. If you want something fun and different, the Orange Dreamsicle Float is basically a liquid dessert--so good. We also did the standard coffee and hot chocolate, and both were as we expected For food, must try for the table OMG French Toast. Seriously, "OMG" is right. We got this to share and it was the star of the show. Super rich and definitely hit the sweet spot. Son chose Smash Burger, You gotta add the egg and bacon. It's messy in the best way possible and hits way harder than a regular burger. I had Biscuits & Gravy, Proper comfort food. The gravy had great flavor and the biscuits were nice and soft. Mom chose Garden Omelet and little one chose Egg Quesadilla: These were great, too. The omelet was packed with veggies so it felt a bit "healthier," and the quesadilla was just easy, cheesy brunch fuel. While I wouldn't consider this to be quite as good as some of their other locations, like the Tustin one, it is still nonetheless excellent as a breakfast spot. The food is great, high quality, and very tasty of course. I would highly recommend any of the Benedict's, which u consider to be the best options at Snooze, aside from the strawberry shortcake pancake, another standout. My issue though is that it explicitly lacks many menu options found in other Snooze locations, many of which are very good. Service is good, but I felt the food took quite some time, which was a bit of a draw back. However, the staff are nice, fairly attentive, and very responsive. Ambiance is perhaps the weakest factor, due to a high noise level, especially on weekends, and the presence of many young children which, while sometimes cute, can also be quite noisy and ear piercing, as many children are. read more

It was our first time at Snooze yesterday morning for breakfast. I ordered the protein and veggie egg white scramble. It was just okay. The chicken sausage was my favorite part. The scramble itself tasted super watery. It didn't have much flavor. Our service from Malcolm was wonderful though! He was super attentive and checked on us frequently. The major downside was that the wait to actually receive our food was 30 minutes. I understand it was kinda busy, but I think it would be beneficial to at least offer a complimentary food item while waiting so it doesn't seem like so long till the food reaches the consumer. The ambiance was great, but the wait time for food was a major turn off. I'm giving this place 3 stars for the food lacking flavor and the food delivery time for being long. read more

I stopped by Snooze for a solo brunch and it was absolutely worth it. Everything tasted fresh and really well thought out. I ordered the gluten-free sweet potato pancakes and they were excellent. They had a soft, fluffy texture with just the right amount of sweetness from the sweet potato -- not overpowering, just warm and comforting. The outside had a slight golden crisp, and the inside was tender without being dense (which can sometimes happen with gluten-free options). Honestly, you wouldn't know they were gluten-free. I also got the corned beef hash with gluten-free toast. The hash had nicely crispy potatoes mixed with tender, flavorful corned beef. It was savory and satisfying without being greasy. The gluten-free toast was actually good -- properly toasted and not dry or crumbly. To drink, I had a strawberry mocktail that was light, refreshing, and tasted like real strawberries instead of syrup. It paired perfectly with everything. One thing to note: it was very, very loud inside. Definitely a high-energy brunch spot. I had my noise-canceling headphones on, which was a must for me, and that made it much more enjoyable. The waitress was incredibly attentive and asked if I needed anything multiple times. I had brunch this weekend with a friend and we luckily did not have to wait- we just got on the waitlist prior to arriving. They're usually a pretty sufficient brunch place as there are many brunchy drinks and a fairly large selection of pancakes, waffles and other brunch/lunch items. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available for dine in and the place is decorated in fun loud colors. I had the shrimp and grits and it was pretty good (although not the best grits ever or even close to rise biscuit's chicken n grits). Situation in a very typical La Jolla shopping center. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I was greeted quickly after entering and seated. I ordered the new French toast latte. It looks cute but the toast on top made lots of soggy crumbs in the coffee. It drank more bitter than I was expecting. For food I ordered the triple protein omelet. It is a large portion that comes with hash browns and toast. It eats very sweet due to the amount of ham. But the use a very generous amount of meat and cheese in the omelet The booth they sat me at was comfortable and I appreciate that the table is moveable. Everything was clean and my waitress checked in enough to be helpful without being overbearing. We came on a weekday for brunch so there wasn't a line. The inside is bright and cheerful, and staff were super friendly. We ordered the Denver omelet, the trio protein omelet, and the kid's French toast sticks for my daughter. The omelets were flavorful without being too salty, and it came with hash browns and toast on your choice of bread. I like that you can customize to your liking (egg whites, substituting chicken sausage, etc ). My daughter loved the French toast and I like that the syrup came in a little container on the side so you can control the amount you put on. I would come again to try some other options. read more

Snooze has been a favorite destination of mine for more than a decade, I suspect the only reason I've never written a review is because I don't want it to be any busier than it already is? One of the perks of living in southern California is the opportunity to have brunch seven days a week until the middle of the afternoon, which seems to be Snooze's mission. Yelp and the Snooze Mobile App have the ability to place yourself on the waiting list for a table if you're within a certain distance which I've used many times and has saved hours waiting in line over the years when they're busy. When I'm by myself or with one person and we want something quicker the counter is first come first serve. So so many delicious things on the menu: I'll start with what I had today which is the classic eggs Benedict with the side salad - cooked perfectly, the exact right amount of hollandaise sauce, the side salad was dressed perfectly and the pine nuts add some texture and some salt. The classic mimosa really hit the spot. If you like hashbrowns, there's are somewhat unique and delicious. I love that snooze has a single pancake on their menu, which is perfect for 2 to 4 people to take a couple bites if they want, but don't want an entire stack of pancakes. I mentioned the classic mimosa but they offer other juice options for mimosas, and they have a full bar with other breakfast cocktails. I love the palimosa, the mocktails are good, their coffee is very good (ignore that in the photo I am the monster who brings his own Starbucks to breakfast, purely a timing thing today). The service has always been excellent, the place is always clean, no matter how busy it is I feel like I've always had an excellent meal and a great experience. read more

Finally returned to Snooze for an impromptu brunch with some friends and was seriously wow'd. First of all, the yelp feature to get on the waitlist is awesome and I highly recommend people do it. You can see your real-time progress of how many people are ahead of you and the time estimate is accurate. This saved us from having to wait much at all upon check-in after our drive over on a Sunday. FYI the place was PACKED and with a ton of people waiting by about noon. We were asked to move to another table after being seated and treated to their pancake flight (full flight!) which was incredible. I would definitely recommend this as a app for a group. The strawberry shortcake and the cinnamon roll ones were soo soo good (cinnamon prob my fav of the 3). Since we had the flight and I was not super hungry, I opted for the 1/2 order of the bravocado toast. WARNING: they let you get a 1/2 order but the pricing isnt listed. It turned out making it half the meal only took off $2-$3 (cant remember). In terms of bang for buck, poor offering. But in terms of appropriate portion for me, it was right. And something like that doesnt work great as a leftover. Just wanted to bring it up. In terms of customization, they let you combine items if you can't decide. Like 1/2 and 1/2 of the Benedict choices. Which is pretty great. I added on the side of "Bacon but different" which was tasty but felt unnecessary. It was also very candied/sweet. Our server was super attentive and amazing at predicting our needs. She was cool and easy-going and really made for a wonderful brunch experience. A great snooze location! While the plaza itself located in is quite busy, you can always find parking. This location of snooze is very busy itself and we always expect a wait time when going for Brunch (at least on the weekends). Definitely a SD staple for brunch. I've always had fantastic service in the past and luckily, my most recent visit, had the same outcome. My party and I were all greeted and checked on multiple times. Our drinks and food came out exactly right each time. I had their iced matcha and a smashed avocado benny. I absolutely love egg benedicts, and I knew I had to try their avocado benny. The English muffin was a bit dry for me (and I like dry English muffins) and the tomato on it kind of overpowered the rest of the meal. While I enjoy tomatoes, it seemed there was as much tomato as there was English muffin. They did mention a bunch of different seasonings on different aspects of the whole benny, but a good portion was a bit bland. I was given their hot sauce and it did help the benny a lot. The eggs were perfectly poached and the avocado was fresh. Overall I did enjoy it, but it was just not exactly what I was expecting based on the menu description. We used the "join waitlist" option online and was able to see how long it would take to be seated along with the list of others ahead of us which was pretty cool! Our party was more than 6 people. It states if you have a party more than 6 to call but once you call I was told we could only make a note that states "we have 7 people in our party" and join the waitlist. They do not take reservations and it is first come first serve Plenty of parking although it can be difficult to find if it is very busy. I love their pancake flight !! We tried the strawberry shortcake pancake, cinnamon roll and Pineapple upside down pancake It was very disappointing that they didn't mention the pancake flight had nuts in it. My nephew is severely allergic to nuts and couldn't even try it yet he was the one that asked for it. He did enjoy his regular pancake meal from the kids menu. The drinks were so delicious !! We were staying next door and wanted something to last us for the day before heading out and did we luck out! We arrived on Sunday morning and were seated promptly. It was just the 2 of us but I noticed larger parties had to wait. And by the time we left, there was a line. Definitely a popular place and I could see why. The vibe is fun and light. Diners were a mix of students, families, and adults. And the food was delicious!! The keto bowl had fresh ingredients with huge portions of everything from the avocado to the keto patty. My Spuds Deluxe had crispy hashbrowns mixed just right with my spinach and bacon. And boy were we glad the server offered us the french toast in half portion to share. OMG is right! It had the most creamy filling and just the right amount of syrup and sugar. So good!! The service was efficient and prompt even though they were really busy. Before this location of Snooze had opened, I was discouraged by the lengthy wait for seating and difficulty finding street parking at its sister branch in Hillcrest. The large parking lot in The Shops at La Jolla Village resolved one of the two issues. The weekend brunch crowds still exist though and create a waitlist despite the ample indoor and outdoor seating areas. The structure used to house a local delicatessen that relocated to a strip mall in Kearny Mesa. I have visited on a few occasions and sit at the bar if there is an empty spot. For one meal, I ordered the pancake flight and chose French toast, a blueberry Danish pancake, and a pineapple upside down pancake. Each component was decadent and delicious, especially the salted caramel and vanilla creme anglaise that topped the French toast and pineapple pancake, respectively. I also requested a side of house made chicken sausage for a little savory goodness to offset the sweet treats. The sausage was served as a patty and had a nice peppery kick. Although the prices have increased over the years, the ambiance and efficient service have continued to bring me back to this establishment. It doesn't hurt that I am usually running errands at neighboring businesses within the plaza so it becomes a multi-tasking trip. My dining experiences at Snooze, an A.M. The ingredients compliment each other. The portions are quite filling. On our first visit we ordered something quickly off the featured menu. The Breakfast Berry Yogurt Bowl and the Bravocado Toasts with eggs. We shared the sweet and savory food, and both agreed this was one of the best breakfast spots. It was an employee's birthday, and the whole team exploded in singing to her, and the whole restaurant joined. It was such a sweet moment - it melted my heart! The service was timely and attentive. My mom wants you to know - she doesn't drink coffee outside of her home made one for various reasons - but the one she ordered was as good as the one she makes at home and it did not upset her stomach. I had orange juice. The next morning we were torn what to order! Do we go with the same meal as the day before? Do we try something new?
