MAUI TUNA CRUNCH SALAD
Rajendra S.

One awesome restaurant with really nice dishes. First visit at lunch although we'd heard about it. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, specially the salads. Great attentive service and in super atmosphere. We'll certainly visit again.

Made a last-minute Valentine's Day reservation at Seasons 52 in UTC and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth everything was -- easy parking and seated right away with no issues. For such a busy night, that alone was impressive. All of the hosts and servers were very pleasant and welcoming. Service felt organized and efficient, and all of our food came out quickly without feeling rushed. We started with the crab cake, which was very flavorful and paired really well with the beet salad. For mains, the sea bass was cooked perfectly -- tender and flaky, it practically fell apart with a fork. The lamb was slightly overcooked for my preference, but it still had great flavor. The décor feels a little dated, but the atmosphere is warm and comfortable, which made for a nice Valentine's dinner setting. Overall, a really solid experience, especially for a last-minute holiday reservation. Would definitely come back.

Philly Cheesesteak Flatbread

Visited here on Christmas Eve with dinner reservations made about 30 minutes before arrival. Seating was prompt and courteous. However, the server was just OK to me. We were a party of three and the other two were not pleased with the server at all. He seemed a bit impatient and wasn't very helpful with recommendations. But I will give him a pass due to the busy season. I ordered the golden beet salad. It was very delicious. I did not want to have a heavy dinner so I just ordered the lump crab starter as my entrée. This was delicious as well and paired well with the golden beet salad. My friends ordered the Philly cheesesteak flatbread, and the vineyard chicken. They were satisfied with the food and enjoyed it, but was disappointed over the service. I would come again. I'm giving four stars as we all enjoyed the food, although, I wished also for better service. My friends would have given a lower ranking.

Food is always amazing here ambience is very nice and quiet and relaxing. However, if you come after 8 PM it seems like the people behind the bar only concerned about cleaning up the bar. Unfortunately, clearing my plate is not on their priority list. However, this restaurant is known for every meal under 595 cal and the very best to accommodate your dietary needs. Unfortunately, service after the rush is not their forte .

Came here twice within a week. It was recommended by my cousins who lives in San Diego area. This was located in Westfield La Jolla mall. Great choice to hang out without anyone limiting our stay. The Inside was modern and hip but cold due to the ac blowing hard and it was so dark as well. I would have a hard time seeing the menu. LOL I tried their outdoor patio area even if the weather in the evening was mid 50's. The large heat lamps were not even turn on but it was pleasant as no wind was coming in. I also ate in the dining room but it's just too dark for me. We have ordered a bottle of 'Chateau Ste Michele Merlot' with my cousins. We ordered 'Pesto Chicken & Mozzarella flatbread' to start. One of my cousins ordered their 'Caramelized Scallops' and the other had the 'Charcoaled Sea Bass'; both were very good!! I had the Filet Mignon and Lobster' ...so good! Also, I have their Cesar salad and tried their Kona Grilled Crusted Lamb Loin. Soft and flavorful. The broccolini and mashed potatoes was good together with the lamb loin. My husband's tried their Wood Grilled Pork Chop. The pork was trended and flavored but I didn't like the red cabbage either it. All dishes were generously less on calories of what I would expect. I was surprised for the quantity. prices are decent for the quality of their dishes. Service was excellent and fastas well as friendly and helpful on selections. I would definitely come back here again. Atmosphere was great for chillin' and just hangout in the outdoor seating, and talking to friends or family. I would definitely recommend this place! A beautiful bar in the Westfield UTC mall. The bartenders are always attentive. There is usually a wait during peak hours, but may be easier to find a spot at the bar. Parking can get busy at the mall too. Great happy hour flatbread and drinks! Their risotto and mac and cheese starters are delicious too!

Seasons 52 at UTC is one of our go-to happy hour spots whenever we are at the mall! They have a great deal with a flatbread and either wine or a cocktail everything always tastes super fresh and flavorful. We also love the hummus appetizer and the meatballs. I love that their dishes are all under 500 calories, and my favorite is the pepperoni flatbread with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. The Sparkling Cosmo is citrusy and bright, and the sangria is another winner! We love sitting on the patio for an alfresco happy hour with friends -- great vibes every time!

We were hungry and everything closed early at this Westfield Mall. Thank goodness Seasons 52 was still open at 8:30pm. Our server Maria was attentive and answered our menu questions. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken. It was very good but lacked greens. It was more like grilled chicken with a very small arugula salad. Maria was great and brought me more arugula to beef up my salad. It came with a lemon vinaigrette, but I asked for the white balsamic dressing instead which was fabulous. My friends ordered a side salad for $9 which was much bigger than mine, just sayin...Rosie ordered the meatballs as well which were yummy and another friend ordered a crab cake and a cup of soup. For the most part we were all happy with our choices. *The inside is very large with lots of seating *Parking available in the lots. *They Validate for 2 hours

Very nice restaurant snacks right at the entrance of La Jolla Westfield UTC center serving grilled foods and everything else, happy hours and kids menu. Will validate parking more than 2 hours. Host and servers are courteous and efficient. Plenty of rooms, table and chairs and bar seating in dim lit ambiance as well as private rooms and outdoor seating. We ordered flat bread, salad, filet mignon, salmon and desserts. They are cooked to perfection. The spice is personal taste. Server brings out hot water and tea bag. The desserts are too sweet for my taste. In general, they are Ok but no Wow factor. Will come back for more.

My parents like to go to Seasons 52 before heading out to the theater. The food is typically consistent and just ok in my book. It is not mind blowing and lacking some flavor. We went Saturday night and my father ordered the scallops. They came over cooked - like rubber. This is not a new dish to the menu so the chefs should get it right. The staff took back the scallops to replace them. The rest of the table was at least half way through our meal when we flagged down the wait staff to find out where the new scallops were. We were informed that they were busy and there was a long queue for food. The replacement dish should have been put at the front of the line, not the back of the queue. A manager finally brought the dish and had my father taste it before leaving the table. After tasting it the reply was they were just ok but cooked better. So the manager apparently went to other tables to see if their scallops were improperly cooked. He came back to tell us that we were the only ones with the problem. That was unnecessary! The restaurant ac was really high. Ordinarily I don't mind but others at my table were getting cold. The weather is changing so they should adjust it with the weather. Very disappointed in our last experience. Not sure my parents will want to go back again.

Seasons 52 is starting the summer season with a new seasonal menu - corn in their flatbreads, soups, and skillets - alongside their elevated seafood and livestock dishes. AMBIANCE Spacious, wood tones, classy SERVICE attentive, friendly, and helpful FOOD 5/5 WOOD-GRILLED CORN, AGED CHEDDAR AND SPICED BACON Flatbread: lime-sour cream drizzle, chopped chives (590 cal). This is understandably a summer favorite. 5/5 CHIPOTLE BBQ SHRIMP Flatbread: Stacked with delicious grilled pineapple, feta cheese, wood-grilled poblano peppers (500 cal) 4.5/5 PHILLY CHEESESTEAK Flatbread: beef tenderloin, cipollini onions, wood-grilled red peppers, provolone cheese sauce (540 cal) 4/5 ALL-NATURAL PEPPERONI Flatbread: sun-dried like roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, Parmesan, basil (580 cal) 4/5 PESTO CHICKEN AND FRESH MOZZARELLA Flatbread: balsamic cipollini onions, wood-grilled red peppers, arugula (510 cal). Pesto could be more pronounced. 4/5 SLOW-ROASTED MEATBALLS Tender porcini-dusted veal, pork, grass-fed beef served in a bowl of tomato-basil sauce and with a side of pita-like brick-oven bread (580 cal) DRINK 3/5 TWISTED PALMER Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, freshly brewed iced tea, lemon, mint. This definitely has whiskey, but the other elements tasted watered down for me.

Do you still Validate Valet Parking?

Yes! I just got validated there last week.

Do they still have happy hour here ? Reservations needed?

Yes

What are good vegetarian options (which does not include meat, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts)?

Do they have fries as a side?

Nope

Do they still have the crispy asparagus and prosciutto flat bread?

That is no longer available 😬

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

As mentioned, only service animals... including the patio. It's a completely ridiculous policy for such a pet friendly mall. And there is an entrance to the patio without having to go through the restaurant, so there is no excuse except snootiness.

I was really impressed that u had a place to set my feet on because I'm very short and normally have a hard time with regular bar seats. There are a lot of cute touches like that. Hooks to hold your purse, etc. I was loving the soulful music which I thought was from a playlist so I used Shazam in order to capture the song. However, the music started to sound live so I walked around...only to find it was coming from a very talented woman named Marianne across the bar. Service was friendly, but we both noticed other tables were a bit ignored or slow to be served. We ordered a few margaritas. Cesar salad with chicken and the lobster arrabbiata with table-side Parmesan. The food was great. I'm not a big focaccia lover but there's was the best I've ever had. It was warm, light, airy, fluffy, and came with this amazing butter AND olive oil, balsamic rosemary. We used the bread to dip into the leftover pasta sauce. We ordered margaritas. I would definitely recommend the blood orange drink they have on the menu. Shout out to Morgan, who was an amazing server and Marianne whose live music changed my whole mood. You are so talented girl!

This is not a walk up and glide to your table situation. We stood there for a bit at the front wondering if we were early for our tee time or just invisible. No hostess, no check in, just two people hovering like we lost our caddie. Not a deal breaker, just a slow start out of the gate. Once we got seated though, completely different story. Wait staff was elite. Like tour level service. Our waiter was dialed in, super professional, never missed a beat. Manager was floating around checking on tables like a ranger making sure pace of play stayed tight. You could tell they actually care once you're in the round. Food was really solid. This is one of those places where you can go full country club brunch or play it a little more casual. And here's the little local caddie tip they don't advertise... There's another spot downstairs. Same kitchen. Less fancy. If you want a simpler breakfast, think egg sandwich, omelet, no frills, you can ask for it and they'll make it. They are not handing you that menu like it's on the scorecard, but if you know, you know. Also a scratch kitchen, which means you can kind of call your shot. Within reason they'll work with you. Felt a little like ordering off script and getting away with it. Views are ridiculous. Ocean, cliffs, one of the most famous golf courses in the country, and a front row seat to pre round optimism slowly turning into reality. Coffee tastes better when you're watching someone rethink their entire swing before 8am. Overall this place plays like a solid round. Not perfect. A little slow off the first tee, but once you settle in, it's smooth, enjoyable, and worth coming back to. Call it a comfortable par with a couple birdie moments. I'd come back and tee it up again.

However it wasn't until 2020 that I fully embraced my passion in wine - while I have wine tasted in a few places around the world, Paso Robles in particular stressed the importance of education in the wine tasting experience. Many of the tasting room staff and sommeliers have at least a wine certification (usually WSET or CMS) and proudly boast it. So I figured if I'm going to spend quite a bit of time and money on wine, I might as well be an educated consumer in the process. Since I don't work in the industry (I'm actually in healthcare) and I don't want to work in the restaurant biz as a sommelier the Court of Master Sommeliers cert route was a no-go. Plus the CMS route emphasizes self-study and I prefer classroom learning. For a hobbyist who may in the future want to dabble in the industry on the side, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust was the way to go. Being based in SD Wine Smarties with Lindsay was the most practical choice. She offers three levels of the WSET plus the diploma - first level being just a 1-day class followed by the test followed by the 2 and 3 being 4 and 8 1x/weekly classes, respectively, with an in-person as well as an online option. She offers her classes in San Diego as well as Temecula. Having dabbled in wine and tasted wine in parts of CA/Mexico/parts of Europe for at least 5 years my knowledge alone was enough to skip L1 plus for the cost of the class (~$300) I would rather spend on wine club allocations. So I decided to start at L2. If you are not sponsored by your employer the cost is around ~$700 for L2 and ~$1300 for L3 and if you are taking the online portion you'll also have to purchase your wines separately. While you could also skip L2 and go straight to L3 in theory many people have advised to at least take L2 to get used to the WSET testing style and to also get used to the "systematic approach to tasting", which is essential if you want to pass the L3 tasting portion of the exam (L2 is only a 50-question multiple choice exam). Plus Lindsay does have a discount for L3 students who have taken her previously for L2. Lindsay was an awesome instructor who has such passion for wine and has a lot of experience gaining that knowledge from all over the world. She does have a propensity to go slightly off topic to talk about her travels but as a fellow traveler myself I actually enjoyed those anecdotes. But in the end I highly recommend to study off the WSET course material - after all it is the WSET that tests you at the end of the day. Even while handling a full time job and other activities I studied on an average a few hours a week. There was a miscommunication at the end regarding my exam date that I had specifically mentioned a month before in an email starting the class. While the original date wasn't honored she did work with me to schedule an alternate date to take the exam. Turns out that I did pretty well - got a 94% on the L2, which qualifies as a "Pass with Distinction". The best part about taking Lindsay's WSET classes? Getting introduced to wines that I have never heard of or tasted before. I thought I knew a little more about wine than the average consumer but this was before I had ever known about a carménère or tasted a meursault. Because of this class I consider those wines some of my most favorite wines along with the usual Paso or Valle suspects. For this specifically I am super grateful. Looking forward to taking the L3 with Lindsay in 2022 and will update this review as such to detail the L3 experience.

No matter where you are on your journey to learn about wine, Lindsay always makes you feel great about your level of understanding. Lindsay is incredibly gifted at understanding wine, and sharing that knowledge. I'm so glad she is in San Diego.
