I was invited to visit Snarf's burger through Yelp and happily accepted. This was my first visit and I was warmly greeted and informed that there was a bit of a wait. I would expect this to be normal on a Friday during the lunch hour rush. The staff was very nice and happily explained the menu to me. I placed my order and waited 20 minutes and then the snarf scarf happened! Yep I'd like to trademark that please . My burger was very tasty, didn't even realize I ordered a meal with double patties so that means I could only manage 1/2 the burger. Hooray for leftovers. I ordered fries as a side and of course some custard. Sadly I didn't think my order through because when it was time to enjoy my custard it melted! It was a warm afternoon. So I feel like burgers have levels. There's the flattop style, there's the grill style. Are you in it for the toppings, or the meat? Snarfburger is similar to My Brother's Bar. It's nothing award winning, but ticks those boxes of delic fatty burger, flattop, with too much cheese and then awesome fries and onion rings. My husband got their spicy burger, it was the winner as it was actually spicy. That made us so happy. It's not a date spot, it's more of a curing a hangover spot. They also don't serve booze which is probably in my best interest most of the time. The people watching is fantastic. First I would like to say that I frequent the snarf sandwich shops often. I've never had an issue and their staff are the ones that helped me obtain information about the concern I'm about to address. I went into snarfburger with my daughter, grand son and daughter. I ordered my food with a gentleman and waited for my food, went next door to order my daughter's food from the sandwich side. When I returned, my daughter told me she witnessed several of the employees arguing and some storming out of the store. As we were still waiting for my food, the lady who claimed to be the active manager continued to tell everyone behind the counter about the problem she had with another employee. Her energy was rude and inappropriate so I told the kids to move to the sandwich side as I waited for my food. I noticed everyone had received their food that came in after me so I went up to ask about my order. They didn't have it and said it was overlooked. The lady began to cook it. When she called me up to grab it, the sarcasm in her voice was obvious so I ignored her, grabbed my food and grabbed some ketchup packets exposed at the counter. She told me not to and said it was a health risk. I responded by asking her response towards me after she just displayed the most inappropriate behavior noticed by everyone in the establishment. She instantly defended herself and got an attitude. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she was the manager. She sarcastically asked if I wanted a refund which I agreed to. She kept saying that my attitude was unnecessary. I told her I was responding accordingly because of her disrespect. She said she want going to give me a refund any longer if I didn't get over the situation and calm down. I asked her to just complete the refund so I could leave. She denied it, I asked her name, wouldn't give it to me, asked her for her managers name and info, she denied me that information too. She walked away. I went back to the sandwich side of the shop and asked an employee for the managers info which they obtained for me. I went to eat my food to find that it was burnt and appeared to cooked in old grease. I walked back over to the other side, asked that my food be remade as I showed the manager the food, she rolled her eyes at me. I said never mind and that's when she began saying she would remake it. I threw the food away and went back to the sandwich side to order something with them. I never received a refund I contacted the district manager and never received a reply. I also left a message on the corporate line and never heard back from them. I have not been back to snarfs since. I do not want to spend money at a place where I do not feel valued. Very disappointing experience especially for my children to witness. The ambiance in the burger side was hostile and needs improvement! read more

Thank you Yelp and Snarfburger for a lovely dinner in Cap Hill! The staff here is fantastic, so helpful with burger recommendations and just all around friendly and charismatic people. We had the hatch supreme and mushroom Swiss burgers and both were great. I love that you can order frings since I wouldn't have been able to choose between fries and onion rings and both were excellent Also had a strawberry custard shake, only complaint is that the straws aren't sturdy enough for the lid so it gets crushed and you literally cannot get any shake through the straw lol The restaurant is quintessential Snarfyness with whimsical colors and decor. If you're looking for delicious juicy burgers, then this is the spot for you. I'm giving it a lower rating only because they did take a long time to prepare one double avocado burger and one veggie burger, with fries and tater tots. I went for the veggie burger to try their version of it, and although the were really nice about it and shared the ingredients it was made of, it tasted very basic (and the gluten bread too). Quality of the fries were excellent and the burger tlitself had good kick and flavor. I got the A1 spicy burger and had solid jalapeño spice. Price point was $9.50 for a burger which didnt come with a side. Overall the establishment itself would pass food service standards but could've used a good cleaning and general maintenance. Had the burgers came out more timely I would've added a 4th star but was slow and I may have caught them in a rush at 1145 on a Monday. Solid 3.5 star overall if I could go half stars. read more

First time ever at a Snarfburger, here in Capitol Hill, I've been to the neighboring Snarf Sandwich Shop a couple of times where I thoroughly enjoyed their sandwiches. Ironic occurrence here as well, I first moved to this neighborhood over fifty years ago, lived in a cozy carriage house near 11th and Emerson, couple blocks away. Old home week for me! Snarfburger is the real deal! I kept it simple and ordered a double cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and grilled slice of onion. Also a combo of fries and onion rings. The burger was cooked and served to perfection! Perfect through and through. The flavor was right on delicious. A superb burger. The fries were also delicious and the onion rings, hit the ball out of the park. The best tasting onion rings I've had in a very long time. Kudos to the counter and grill staff, their customer service could not be beat! Parking lot is accessible and had no trouble getting in and out. It's a busy street and the vibe at the shop was very comfortable. All in all, a very positive experience throughout. Will return when I'm back in the hood. read more

I really enjoyed my bacon cheeseburger today it was cooked perfectly. My fries were cooked perfectly. Both came out hot as I sat and watch them cook my order and multiple other orders the three gentlemen taking orders, and making orders seem to work very well as a team and that's really amazing to see. Communication was open between them which had the food flowing as so many tickets were coming out for food pick up and otherwise the place is very clean very chill I guess because of its location the bathrooms had to be locked and so you had to request a code in order to get in which is kind of sad but it is what it is. Everything else was perfect. There was no TVs but they did have music on and everything was clean and very stocked. I took a lunch date, so we both were able to enjoy something off the menu . All in all, it was a great experience. Thank you Snarfburger for having us. The customer service is excellent here. They let me try the guacamole that I was not sure about getting and even gave me a side of ranch for my burger after I had already purchased my meal. This may seem like a small gesture but I have been to places where the sauce is just a $1 extra and even though I am ready to pay whatever the price is they have to make some kind of snarky remark before giving me the sauce. It is so nice to run into nice people who enjoy doing their job. My burger was cooked perfectly and I liked the crispy fries. The ranch was delicious to dip my fries and burger into. I did not like the hot sauce all that much but luckily I asked for it on the side instead of on my burger (as the burger I ordered has the hot sauce in it). The guacamole had too much black pepper for my liking but those are all extra things that I just wanted to try. The burger was juicy and the buns were the right size for the patty. Not too big not too small. The restaurant looks like one of those "hole in the wall" type of spots and seating might be limited during certain hours so you might want to plan to get your food to go. read more

What I love about Snarfburger most is that both my husband and I can get what we want in a comfortable, casual environment close to home. Everything is fresh, delicious, and the portions are more than enough to fill our bellies. He gets the frings, I get the fries, and we both leave happy. The staff was slammed on a Friday for lunch so it did take awhile for my food to come out, but so hot and delicious. Snarfburger is a throwback hamburger stand & a definite place to try! Locally owned & operated by Jimmy (Snarf) Seidel. First came Snarfsandwich in 1996, then Snarfburger in 2013. This funky little place is fast food at its best. The Federal Blvd location offers both Snarfs - two separate restaurants right next to each other. I ordered at the counter & within about five minutes I had my food. (They do have an App to order online as well.) The counter staff greeted me as I came in & were friendly. For seating there is a counter with stools inside & also outdoor tables with umbrellas. Plus, there is small parking lot. I've been to Snarfburger many times & have always had their delicious burgers. Today I wanted to try something a little different...the Fried Bologna Sandwich for $5.10. I know this was an unusual choice but it really was yummy! The bologna was fried to perfection, giving it an almost smoky flavor. However, I do prefer the bologna slices to be thinner. Add to that gooey melted American Cheese, grilled onions, with mustard on toasted white bread. (It was a little disappointing that one of the bread slices was a heel.) To round out my meal I had the Fries - nice & crispy. The portion size was large & sharable. My tasty meal was rich & filling - so satisfying & so affordable too! read more

I came here for lunch one day and everything went well. I ordered the Triple B burger and it was large and in charge. A Double Patty Burger, Cheese, Bacon, BBQ Sauce, Mayo, Pickles & Grilled Onions, YUMM! Once I saw it on the menu its was calling my name and I had to get it. Hot, fresh, and delicious with every bite. This location has a very small parking lot and is next to a residential area with narrow one way streets so navigation to this area can be tricky but worth it. Good experience all around. read more

To begin, I believe I am within the upper percentile of Snarf's supporters, so I am generally patient with this venture. If you don't want to read a lot, please refer to my attached picture, which was sold to me as a "veggie burger" for like $14. You got me! I will do my best to elaborate. The food here is good, usually, maybe! I can't eat beef, so I really only have their black bean situation to refer to, but it's great sometimes. Lots of char, great toppings, a little greasy but not Wet. I have enjoyed it before a few times, although never without some kind of Incident. One time, the woman working chased me out to the parking lot to tell me they forgot my tomato slice, and carried it out to me in her hands! I thought it was kind of charming, but incredibly weird and a little gross. The fries and tots are good too when you want that kind of food. My best guess is their burgers are also good! I think this place has hit the somewhat common point in the value equation where the quality of food no longer matters because the acquisition experience is so cursed. This location is next door to a Snarf's Sandwiches, technically in the same building, but somehow manages to be like a literal Hell version of the Snarf's atmosphere. I'm saying literal because the place is not ventilated! It is so smoky! It's like those tiny 1 room test houses that firefighters train on, but dirtier somehow. Part of that may be because it is filled with food and grease and has to keep its doors open constantly (because smoke) which open directly next to a dumpster and vermin. Not good! It is nice on a late night, though, on the little benches, yano. Outside in the summer. There is some magic. Eating tots & fries, or a single fry encased in half of a head of lettuce, maybe a milkshake. On the topic of Hell, I have been wondering - how does management decide who works in Snarf's and who has to work in Snarfburger? Is it punishment? If anybody has insider info on this, I really would like to know. I would just ask, but I have actually never been in the restaurant while it was not experiencing some kind of operational crisis. Okay, let's talk about the veggie burger. I was served a single french fry wrapped in what appeared to be the store's entire supply of 'berg - very wet 'berg! The attached picture is actually what was given to me. Was it an error or was somebody being an asshole? Maybe all of the fillings, uh, slipped ..out? There was a bit of onion in it, and like, some crumbs as if it was once assembled. Where did the fry come from (no fries in order). Who knows, but Snarfburger you know where to find me (next door, eating at Snarf's). I don't know what happened - it was a pickup order and didn't see it until I got home. The shear quantity of lettuce actually had it weighing and shaped about right in foil. I'm willing to take a little responsibility on this, because I ordered a veggie burger in a lettuce wrap (an objectively annoying & confusing thing to do). But, hey, don't serve something you think is bad on your menu? The order had a $4 upcharge for avocado and chiles. I mostly was craving tots, and wanted to feel less guilty about eating a ton of tots. Whatever, fuck me I guess. You know, I really think the upcharges should be looked at differently. Give me a veggie burger with all the veggies on it! Leave the cheese off, who cares. Why is cheese never an upcharge, but chiles and white mushrooms are? This is more of an industry criticism, but it really is pretty annoying. I don't think it even reflects a financial reality. I don't know. That's all I got. At the end of the day, it's $14 and an uncle-tier joke. I'm sure I'll be back here for more tots when I'm less miffed, but I cannot recommend. read more

Unwrapped the Snarf burger into a ketchup mustard mayonnaise hot sauce flood and a mess!I literally I got it everywhere, while trying to get this burger to a plate where i could manage the huge amount of sauces everywhere!! Had to scrape off the buns, which the bottom soggy completely disintegrated bun was flattened from weight and sogginess. So basically not edible. Tried to put back together after removing the messy sauce everywhere situation.. i was grossed out and had to wash my hands twice just to complete the removing of sauces with paper towels. But had to try and bite into just the burger part, but i bit into a big piece of beef grizzle !! Now 100% not going to eat. I threw it all away, and had to dig out of trash because you wanted photo! Jimmy Seidel, aka "Snarf," wanted to make the best sandwich in the world, so he started Snarf's a long time ago and now owns like 20 of them. So I guess it makes sense that at some time he'd move into the burger biz and he's now got 3 places dedicated to them. This guy knows sandwiches. His burgers actually fill the niche between fast food and more pricey and expensive versions of this classic dish. Imagine getting a Cherry Cricket burger that was 1/2 the size and 1/2 the price, and all in less than 15 minutes. My favorite part of the menu? For $2.95 I sometimes call in for pick-up order of onion rings and call it lunch. As good as CC's? Not quite, but closer to my office and way faster for me to get.
