LG Hoagie Philly Cheesesteak and Reg Fry
    Josh M.

The cheesesteak was really solid. Their fries weren't anything special and their special sauce was just thousand island. Small place to dine so we took our food to go. Place was very busy for a Wednesday at 4 pm! Got our food pretty quickly though and enjoyed it.

No lettuce or tomatoes like I said to the manager!

Poor Service and very inconsiderate of the customer needs. The Manager was very rude and argumentative! Will not be going back. Thank you and be bless.

One of the best Philly cheese steak spots in Denver. I got the Buffalo Chicken w/mushrooms and jalapeños, so good!

I had The Original to compare to the original cheesesteaks I grew up eating. It's right there. Tender, juicy meat, plenty of melted cheese, and grilled, chopped onions. The roll wasn't an Amoroso bakery roll, but it was pretty good. Service was friendly and fast. The place had the feel of a hoagie shop. Get your food, eat it and go or hang around with some friends and watch a little sports on TV while eating. It's a good little shop. I'll go back again.

I had 6 mozzarella sticks 3 of them literally had no cheese in it lol. And my good was cold.

The sandwiches are good. The fries are great. I like the option to get whiz on the sandwich, or on the side for the fries. Delicious!!

The prices on everything keep creeping up while the quality goes down. I understand food inflation, but coupled with declining quality I'm just no longer a regular customer anymore. The last 3 times I've gone, the fries were very brown on the outside but not overcooked, indicating the oil was old and needed to be changed, this gives them an off flavor that's not good. When done right, their fries are fantastic, however this is a regular issue now. Also, they changed their burger in the past year, something I used to order a bunch, but not at all anymore. It used to be a grass fed patty and now they call this a wagyu blend, but it's awful and tasteless compared to the old one. Additionally, their wings (for some reason only when getting to-go) are either way over sauced, sitting in a pool of sauce and thus get soggy or they're under-sauced. The issue with the oil is really what gets me though. I'm guessing they're dragging it out longer before changing it to save money, but they're doing it at the cost of quality and now they've lost a regular customer. I may revisit next year, but not anytime soon. Employees are relatively friendly and service is ok, ambience is typical of a wing joint.

Every dish we've tried has been thoughtful and full of flavor. This time the pork belly buns, chili wontons, and Taiwanese fried chicken were probably my favorites. The braised pork rice is another dish I don't think I'd ever get tired of ordering, and the crispy potatoes disappeared almost immediately. We also finished with dessert, and I'm really glad we did. The chocolate marquise was excellent, and the shaved ice was a fun way to end the meal. Three visits in, I still haven't had anything that made me think, "I wouldn't order that again." That's pretty rare.

This seemed to be the opportune time to go. Thursday night at 5:30 and things were already picking up. The traffic in and out was steady the entire time we were there and when we left at 7pm there was a small wait. Service was attentive and plentiful. Probably the one thing that held them back from five stars was a lack of interest in how we were enjoying our meal. Everything came quickly and was fresh and hot but not once did our waiter ask what we thought which is sadly one demarcation between good and great. Did it turn me off, no but it's a note to consider if anyone in this operation reads my review. Bao buns were spectacular. Five stars. Perfect combination of build your own. DanDan noodles were amazing. I'd go back again today for more. Flavorful and easily sharable. Five stars Green beans were amazing. Five stars Fried chicken was cooked perfectly and covered in a crunchy coating that complimented the tender chicken. Lived the hot honey and rice that accompanied the dish. Four stars only because it was messy. Lame I know. I had a gin n tonic with a lime twist that was really nice and we also had macadamia flavored coffee over ice which was also tasty. It was $140 out the door so not a budget conscious meal but worth every penny. We saw the fried chicken and noodles delivering to many tables. The seating ranged from two to six tops and seating at the bar accommodating 10. Great full service experience and on a busy night I would make a reservation.

As usual it feels like a neighborhood bar and grill as most of the patrons seemed to know the bartenders. They have a large mural of Lowry when it was an army base in their back room as well. Surprisingly they have a full bar. Even with the large ice cubes for the old fashioned. I had an Italian sub and ceaser salad while there. The toppings are fresh and tasty. I am from NJ and do not like spicy Italian food, but Denver residents seem to love it. Walter's is within walking distance of my house, and I would be there every week if I could get a pizza with delicious marinara sauce with no spice. I also would love to take my family, but they don't care for spicy pizza either, especially the young kids. I have worked with Ken, the manager, and he is very nice and helpful. I have spoken to the owner years ago about the spicy sauce, and he told me that "everyone" loves it. Well, not everyone! The service is always fast and efficient. The staff is kind and helpful. I love the indoor seating. There is a bar area, a back room, and a main dining area with plenty of seating. There is also an outdoor patio. Parking is plentiful on the street or in the back parking lot. The noise level has never been a problem when trying to speak with your fellow diners. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. I would give Walter's 5 STARS if they had a choice of non-spicy and spicy sauce, just like they have a choice of crusts. PLEASE!!!!

Great food! Great vibes! Great Service!…read more A soul food restaurant, if not one of the best; may be THE best in the Denver metro area, and the state for that matter. The food is a fine example of excellent soul food done with love through culinary knowledge and experience. We ordered the Oxtail plate with greens and yams, which included cornbread smathered in sweet, buttery love; Catfish with greens and mac and cheese. Nothing was overly salty or too much seasoning. Real Soul Food: Blazing Chicken Shack II…read more Listen, if you're looking for that authentic, seasoned-to-the-bone flavor in Denver, look no further. Blazing Chicken Shack II is officially in my rotation, and for good reason. I've gone through the menu, and I'm telling you right now, they are putting their soul into this kitchen. Check the breakdown on why this spot is a Denver staple: The Wing Dinner: Pure perfection. The wings are top-tier and easily some of the best you're going to find in the city. The crunch, the seasoning, the moisture, it's all there. The Catfish: Man, listen. This is top three in Denver, period. If you think otherwise, go argue with yo momma, don't argue with me! The Sides: Everything is cooked with straight-up love and grace. The okra? It tastes exactly like my grandma used to make it. That's that nostalgic flavor you just can't fake. The Wait: Look, let's keep it 100, be prepared to wait. They are cooking everything fresh to order. If you show up during peak hours, just know it's going to be a minute. Quality takes time, fam. The Vibe: My only real gripe is I wish they were open longer, but I get the mission. When you're serving heat like this, you go until it's gone. Pro-Tip for the Inner Circle: Don't just show up and wait in line. Order online first, then give them a quick call to modify it for dine-in. By the time you pull up, your food is ready, and you can go straight to a table and start grubbing while it's fresh and steaming. Final Verdict: This is a Mile High favorite. If you haven't been, you're late to the party!

This was my first Culinary Dropout experience which was on a date night and dinner outing. There was ~45 minute wait for a table as it was "dinner rush hour" before the weekend. We were seated in the bar area at a high top so we were very close to live music performer! So that was an enjoyable portion of the experience! The interior was dimly lit, loud and lively, and offered a rustic but modern feel. Based on this experience, food was overpriced and mediocre. We tried the fish and chips ($23) and fried chicken ($26). We were disappointed the fish and chips were not served with fresh lemon to "baptize" the fried fish. Fries were limp and didn't seem fresh. Also thought the fried fish should have had a crispier crust. The fried chicken was good flavor and texture on fried crust but the white meat was very dry. Mashed potatoes and gravy were lukewarm and not served hot. Also I tried to season the mashed potatoes but the pepper grinder at the table was completely empty. Biscuit was dry, overcooked, and lacked butter. Probably will opt for other options next date night.
