What's not to like? Called Saturday around noon. Problem fixed by dark. Our problem was outside between the house and the sidewalk. Tree roots quickly snaked out without a problem. There was no access drain, so a hole had to be dug, the pipe exposed and cut, and a "t" section put in so the access drain would be above ground level. So, the next time the tree roots are clogging the pipe, access to the pipe will be simple and the snaking cost will be quite low. Total cost for the snaking, digging, pipe cutting, "t" pipe install, and filling the hole back up was $500. Maybe it was too much, maybe not. But a friendly plumber on a Saturday afternoon - with explanations along the way was worth it to me. Oh yeah, he gave me a few options and I choose the most expensive but the best long term solution. I could have spent far fewer dollars had I taken a different option. Options are good! read more

I have an old house and the sewer pipe gets clogged annually. Our old plumber is out of business, so I tried Snappy Rooter due to the number of good reviews. He came out within half an hour, was done with the job in no time, and charged me the reasonable price he quoted over the phone. Thanks, Mike. read more

I used Snappy Rooter twice to clear out a root growing in my sewer lines. They were polite, professional, sober, and gave what I assume is a good rate for the work. They fully explained to me the problem, and what to expect in the future if I didnt get the work done. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

The plumber Tom was fantastic! He was at my place for hours fixing the drain. He tried the low cost way to help me save me money. Highly recommend this company and Tom read more

I'm sure and base of the reviews I saw, their service would have been really good..... I guess I will have to stay with the 'guess' as they never showed up as promise! in fact, I was offered, how is tomorrow instead!? read more

honestly. 5 stars. I called at 11:30 AM on a Wednesday and by 1 PM a truck with two guys was at my house. I called to have my sewer main snaked. Within 20 minutes, the problem was solved. They also fixed two of my toilets in a matter of minutes. I also like this outfit is family owned. I am only giving them 5 stars because I cannot give 6. read more

These guys are awesome!!! Richard did a fantastic job replacing the wax ring on a leaky toilet for me this morning. He was prompt polite and had the job done in a timely manner. Long story short I had two other plumbing company's out for the leaky toilet both of which quoted me triple what snappy rooter charged and insisted I have extra work done that was unnecessary. One plumber even insisted I replace the entire toilet. These guys are legit! read more

I can't say how great these guys were. I accidentally knocked a comb into the toilet as it was flushing and it clogged everything up. Mike and another plumber from Snappy Rooter were here in 30 minutes, and had the job done in 5. HALF THE COST OF ROTO ROOTER! I've got their card saved for all of my future plumbing needs. read more

At around 10pm one night my plumbing started to make weird sounds... then the toilets began to overflow. I thought awesome, how much is this going to cost me? The next morning I called a couple of places and got a bunch of voice mails (including them). Shortly later they called me back (the others never did). I explained what was going on and he knew exactly what was up (even though on the phone he told me wasn't 100% sure - he actually was correct) and said he would send one of his guys over between 10:30am-11:30am. He arrived at 10:25 and I cannot say enough about him. He was polite, worked his butt off and didn't try to sell me a bunch of lies about how I needed then and there to replace everything. He advised about some issues I was having because of the type of pipes I have (orangeburg in a house built in the 40's). He could have told me I needed to replace it all that day (like someone else did), instead he was honest and said yes for now it's fixed and I bought you time but in the future you will need some replacement piping done. I appreciated this and now know I have an issue to think ahead about how to fix it in the next couple of years. I would highly recommend calling them. I am happy I read these reviews and took the advise of others. read more

A few months ago, I needed a simple root removal. The guy showed up on schedule. He was done in fifteen minutes; and I haven't had any problems, since. I recommended them to a friend who had a blocked main drainpipe. They came out and cleared the pipe. Two days later, it was clogged, again. They responded within an hour. They determined that the pipe from the house to the sewer needed to be replaced. Since the pipe ran underneath the patio, they re-routed the new pipe to a trench in the lawn. The estimated time was four days. The trench, including a seven foot deep hole by the house, was all dug by hand. They were finished in just over two days. They even brought new turf to replace the damaged lawn. The turf was not listed on the bill. The price was a few hundred dollars cheaper than any other estimates that my friend had gotten. I tell anyone who has drain problems to call Snappy Rooter. read more

Mike made replacing my hot water heater very easy. He was accomidating to my schedule and was able to arrange access while I wasn't home and took care of everything updating me along the way. He was also very tidy - everything was as clean as I left it. Thanks Mike! read more

I am finally writing a long overdue review. Mike, the owner, is amazing! We had a kitchen sink leak for awhile and had other companies come out. Paid them and the problem kept coming back. I read reviews on Yelp about this business and decided to make an appt with them. Mike fixed the problem last year and it has not leaked since then. Mike noticed that we had very low water pressure and figured out that there was a leak outside in the pumps. We called the water company and followed Mike's instructions. They had to break the concrete on the road outside our house, but we have normal water pressure now for a year. Mike did not have to diagnose the latter problem, did not charge us anything extra for his help. Thank you, Mike! read more

Richard to the rescue again! We had to reschedule our initial appointment time, which was not a problem at all. My laundry drain was plugged up so water from the washing machine was shooting back into my laundry room. Richard came, cleared out the cleanout plug and all is fine with the world again. read more

Found Snappy Rooter on Yelp (thank you) and called them about my clogged sink. I had called a couple of other plumbers for quotes and they were more than double what Snappy Rooter quoted me. They were able to come out the same day and flixed my clog in less than 10 minutes! Fast, friendly, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them!!! read more

After coming back from vacation, my washer decided that it was going to start draining into my bathtub (don't have a utility sink!). Like most other folks in town, there are some old janky pipes under this house, and the main pipe was all clogged up. Mike showed up within the two hour window specified (even called me 15 minutes prior to let me know that they were on their way). Managed to snake the nasty clog out of there, within minutes and charged an affordable price ($65). PLUS he gives a 30 day warranty, so if it happens again he'll come back out and do it again for free. Hopefully I won't need a plumber any time soon, but if I do I will most DEFINITELY call Snappy Rooter again! read more

I hate having to call the plumber. I fell like I am calling some guy because he knows some secret that no one will tell me, or has some tool that I can't find, otherwise I could do it myself. That being said, Mike is a great guy. He helped me in a bind last minute. He was prompt, straight forward, fair, clean, courteous and honest. we have since even just called him for advice regarding some plumbing stuff he wasn't even going to do and he gave us his honest opinion. I would definitely use them again. read more

I called on a Saturday to have a garbage disposal replaced. Mike returned the call promptly and was able to get it done that day. Service was great and price was fair. I had called another company a week earlier and their price was the same, but they never showed up. I called another company (McDonald Plumbing) and their price was three times higher. Bottom line, I was very pleased with Mike and Eric. I was referred by a friend to Snappy Rooter and I can see why she was happy. read more

We have used them several times, per the recommendation of our realtor. They have always been reliable, and show up to appointments on time. Appointments are easy to schedule, and they return calls quickly. All the work they have done has been high quality, and has lasted over the last couple of years we've been using them. Most of all, they are honest and reasonably priced. I got a $2,000 quote for sprinklers in my front yard. Snappy Rooter came out and fixed the problem (and another) for $100!! I never doubt I'm getting good quality, honest work for an incredible price when I use Snappy Rooter. Thank you!!! read more

Very responsive and easily schedule time to have them come check out a crack in a pipe down in our basement. The guys (Richard and Eric I think) did great work and were super efficient. Quoted a more than reasonable rate and got the work done quickly. Thanks for all the helping us out right before Thanksgiving!!! read more

We had an issue with one of our toilets as it got plugged over and over again. After searching Yelp, I stumbled upon Snappy Rooter and their amazing reviews. So I told my wife to call them to see if they could fix the problem They were able to identify the problem right away and were able to quickly and efficiently solve the problem. We needed to replace the toilet and it was a good thing we did because the original seal was bad. Mike and his assistant did a great job, explained the cost of their services compared to the cost of the parts and most importantly the quoted price was the final price. I have a feeling I have found my go to plumber after trying a few others. Great company to work with. read more

I just had Snappy by the house. They showed up promptly for the scheduled appointment. I had them by two weeks ago, before a surgery of mine, and they fixed a toilet for free while they gave me the estimate for the dripping shower, earth-quake securing the water heater, and installing a whole house waterfilter I had bought at Lowe's. I didn't catch his last name, but you're likely to talk with Mike. He was accompanied with a different person for each visit (today it was Mike and Mike, actually), which is great (I think it's on-the-job learning, but I didn't ask :)). Main-guy Mike is the one doing the talking and he is very nice and easy to speak with. He explained what he was doing as he did it, made sure I verified the work afterwards, and is very affordable. He sticks with his quotes, which I take to be very competitive, considering the fact that the other plumbing company highly listed on Yelp here in Sacramento really failed to produce a quote after 2 phone calls and one visit (oh, they'll get their review...). As Mike earth-quake secured the waterheater he fixed the previous owner's extremely poor installation of copper piping to drain away hot water if it overheats (I think I got that right). The copper piping was not sanded or soldered, and woud basically have resulted in water all over the garage if it were forced to be used by built-up pressure. Mike fixed this easily and for no extra charge! Woa, don't you just wish that all service proffesionals remembered how to treat their customers? Mike is basically securing a returning customer, and I don't mind this approach at all. Heck, this is my first Yelp review, even, that is how impressed I am. He fixed the shower, which was just removing a cartridge in that old thing, heh. He explained how it's good to have experience when you do this, if you were to try it on your own, and gave me some indications on what usually had gone wrong when people thought they could do it on their own and had to resort to calling a plumber. I love learning, so that was a treat. The water coming in to the house is in a tricky spot, so we've not decided if we're going to return the whole house waterfilter or install it in the not-optimal spot. Installing it will turn out to cost 350 and we paid 300 for the waterfilter (5 star rating from 50 reviews at Lowes.com). I'm definitely going with Snappy Rooter if we decide to do it, though! No doubt. Thanks, Mike! :) PS: They take the 3 forms of payment (cash, check, and card) but are charged extra if you pay with card. I paid with a check, and, coming from a country were checks have been obsolete for decades, asked Mike if I wrote the check properly. He said it's wise to ensure you scribble a line after you write the amound in letters, so that no one can add more wording there. Nice to know - I freely admit I'm not an expert check writer. read more

I have beed using Snappy Rooter for the past year and a half. Richard has been so awesome and honest. It sometimes takes a day or so for them to come out to your home, but so worth it. I called Snappy Rooter at 9am when we found out there was a clog in our sewer drain, and they came out within 3 hours and fixed the problem in 15 minutes! It was $100. The technicians were super nice, knowledgeable, and efficient. Would definitely recommend them! read more

This is my first Yelp review, but I felt it important enough to take the time and write a review on the EXCELLENT service I received from Snappy. If you're like me and you are searching for a plumber, but are uncertain who to choose, then please read my review. I called Snappy Rooter mostly due to their Yelp reviews. They came out to my house within the hour and were extremely professional, courteous and explained exactly what needed to be done to fix my plumbing issue. Essentially, I needed to replace the cast iron drain under my raised foundation house with ABS, as it was leaking badly. I called 3 plumbers to my house for a quote. Two of the 3 plumbers quoted me between $2000 to $2500 to replace the drain from cast iron to ABS. One of the plumbers use a fear-based approach to have me sign them up to do the work - big turn-off. Snappy was awesome as they quoted me $1500 and also stated it would take about 4 hours to replace. I chose Snappy partly for their price but mostly because of their professionalism and straightforwardness. They came out to my house the following day and arrived at the EXACT time they stated. About an hour into the job they came to me and said they were dropping the price from $1500 to $800 because they discovered half of my drain had already been replaced with ABS. Yes, let me repeat that, they dropped the price from $1500 to $800. OK, honestly like this doesn't come around that often. I was shocked to say the very least. Snappy will now be my new "goto" plumber and I will attempt to convert anyone I know to use them for their plumbing needs. You would be making a mistake to at least not allow them to quote you on any of your plumbing needs. Snappy was flat out GREAT!! read more

I had an emergency ceiling leak problem above the light fixture in our kitchen. A real safety hazard! I called Snappy Rooter be/c of all the rave reviews and five stars I found on Yelp. Turns out, they are extremely busy (today is Tuesday) and they would not be available to come out to fix my ceiling leak until next MONDAY. That's almost one week away! I think not... It's good that they're busy but not very accommodating for people who have true plumbing emergencies. Too bad, a BIG thumbs down for this business. read more

Called Mike and made an appointment for between 2-4pm today -- Mike called at 1:58 to let me know he'd be here in 10 minutes. He and his helper, Shane, looked over my shower/tub valve, took it apart and had it fixed in 15 minutes! While showing Shane the water main, I happen to mention that the hose bibb for my garden hose had been dripping for months and on their way out they replace that in another 15 minutes. Friendly, affordable and efficient -- what more could you ask for in a plumber? Oh, yeah, and Mike's "guesstimate" over the phone was right on the money, too. When was the last time that happened to you? I'm getting ready to replace a toilet soon, you'd better believe I'm calling Snappy Rooter. read more

I had them come out a little over a month ago because I had water heater issues. They figured out I just needed to slip the circuit breaker and issue fixed. He charged me the obligatory service call amount. My water heater just started having the same issue. I called him and he said it was probably an electrical problem. Total honety!! He could have come out, charged me more money, and who knows what else! Thanks Mike! I would recommend them to anyone! read more

stellar. these guys are just stellar. we had a toilet go out on us, and unfortunately it wasn't a simple fix (the toilet had a high pressure flushing system built into it and parts were NOT cheap to come by). at first we hired America's Plumbing to see if they could fix it. they did a band-aid job, which they explained it was, but it cost some $150! it lasted for approximately 6-8 months like the guy said, and my girlfriend and i just decided to spring for a new toilet and get it installed. we ended up buying a water saver toilet from Costco for $100. it was a decent construction, had a simple ballast type tank, and suited our needs. we called up a few places for estimates to remove the old toilet, install the new one, and see what kind of warranties are offered on their work. we called a few of the commercial places and got ridiculous quotes in upwards of $300-$400! we yelp some more guys and decide to call Snappy Rooter since they've gotten such great reviews. he quotes us "roughly $100" to remove and toss the old toilet, install the new one, and guarantees the work for 30 days. to say the least, we were dumbfounded. we called a few more places to make sure we weren't crazy and they were still easily THE CHEAPEST OF ALL! so, we call them again and ask again. yes, we were in disbelief so we had to ask again. well, he said the same and we scheduled an appointment. they came in a few days, did the work, and everything was in tip-top shape. the toilet looked great in its new place, the old one was gone, and we were in possession of a new, fully functional toilet all for $200, which was WAY CHEAPER than any of the other plumbers quotes for the toilet installation ALONE! would definitely hire these guys again! read more

We have used Snappy Rooter on four occasions. In our opinion their first visit to our home to clear a clogged drain earned them points as they performed their work in a professional and expeditious manner, and they didn't try to BS us about the problem. They were on time, and they only charged us for the work that was completed. And besides, they are genuinely nice guys. The second time we had Snappy install our new toilets. Again, their work was on time and on budget. They arrived with all the new equipment, and the removal of the old toilets and the installation of the new toilets was completed within record time. Snappy was our pick to install our new water heater. They removed the two old water heaters we had, and they disposed of them. They installed a new energy efficient water heater, and they installed new custom gas and water fittings . These guys aren't hacks. Each of the fittings was "made to order". These guys really know what they are doing. Their commitment to excellent service is evident, and their prices are very reasonable. Snappy was involved in the complete remodel of our master bathroom. Mike and his crew performed a total demolition of the bathroom which included the removal of ceramic tile on all the walls, removal of ceramic tile surrounding the roman tub, removal of the entire shower stall, the removal of a two sink vanity, and the removal of the old flooring material. They completed the entire demolition in less than TWO HOURS!! Incredible!! All the demolished material was taken away with a minimum of intrusion. Mike and his crew installed all the new plumbing and fixtures in our newly remodeled bathroom. We couldn't be happier with his work. So, when you need quality plumbing performed, call Snappy!! They will do an excellent job, and you won't be disappointed. read more

I got tired of feeling ripped off by places like Bonney Plumbing, so I thought I would check Yelp and see who people in Sacramento liked. Based on all the previous reviews, I decided to try Mike at Snappy. I almost thought the reviews were almost too good to be true. I described my situation to Mike over the phone. We had a leak under the kitchen sink. A friend had recently replaced our garbage disposal, and everything was fine until we used the dishwasher. Mike said my friend probably forgot to pop out a little plastic tab where the dishwasher drains into the disposal. He said to check it out, and call him back if I still needed him. He said he was just trying to save me some money by coming out for nothing. I took off the hose and sure enough that was it. Problem solved. I have no idea if Mike is any good as a plumber (although I am betting he is), but as an honest, helpful person, he gets 5 stars. I thought we were going to have to sit home all day and wait for it to be fixed, when it was nothing. Mike saved us money and our whole day we had planned to go out of town. I hope I don't truly need his service terribly soon. But if I do, I will not hesitate to call him again. He is in my phone now. Thanks Mike! read more

Came home late on Christmas Eve and noticed water pooling in the corner of my lawn and draining into the gutter....uh oh! The water appeared to be coming out from the water main valve hole that is on the left side of the driveway near the lawn. Called the City Water folks the next day (who knew that they work all 365 days of the year...even on Christmas Day!?! ) to see if I could get someone to come out and look at it. The City Water guy came out, closed the valve to shut off the water, fiddled around around a bit, and then gave me the bad news...the leak is on my side of the line, so it is my responsibility to fix it....MAJOR bummer! The City Water guy gave me 5 days to fix it, so my holiday week starts off by calling around to get estimates from plumbers. Checked the reviews on Yelp and called a few highly rated ones. Surprisingly enough, I was able to get several folks to come out to give me estimates on the same day I called them...even though it was right after a major holiday plus it had been a bad cold spell, so I knew all the plumbers were way busy cleaning out blocked sewer lines from all those holiday parties and fixing broken pipes due to the freezing weather. I called 4 different plumbing companies and the estimates ranged from 300-600 dollars to repair the leak. A bit of a wide price range, but just reaffirmed the need to get more than one estimate no matter how big or small the job. Snappy Rooter was the last of the 4 companies that gave me an estimate. I was able to describe my leak to Mike on the phone. Luckily for me, he and Shane were already in my area doing a similar repair job and I was quoted $350 to repair the leak...so Snappy Rooter ended up being on the cheaper side of the estimates I received. When Mike and Shane came by my house to look at the leak later that day, Mike confirmed that it still would cost $350 to fix the leak, even though fixing it likely would be more difficult than what he originally thought when we talked on the phone as the leak was in a section of the water line that was slightly underneath the driveway and about 4 or so feet deep. Based on the good Yelp reviews, I felt pretty comfortable with going with Snappy Rooter. I'm glad I went with them, as Mike and Shane did a very good job with the repair. It was a dirty/messy job as they had to dig deeply through a lot of clay-based dirt to get to the cracked pipe. The job was made even more difficult as they started it at 5PM and had to do the repair while using flashlights to see what they were doing. Plus, Mike is a pretty funny guy and I liked his dry sense of humor! Overall, I was very satisfied with the work Mike/Shane did for Snappy Rooter and greatly appreciated the fact that they were able to fit me into their schedule last minute. I would definitely hire Snappy Rooter again for future plumbing needs. read more
