We were a little surprised by about $500.00 in adds. Also we asked how long install would take and we were told 5-8 hours, when the installers arrived they said 10-12 hours...it was 10 hours. I had SMW install a heating and cooling system in my home. The price I was given was substantially higher and I paid cash which two days later they said I was $600 short. I have waited almost a month to receive the three pass through grates that should have been installed at the time of installation. I am currently still waiting for one to be installed. When I contacted the office I spoke to Paul who became defensive and somewhat rude. I would not recommend them for anything other than possibly routine maintenance. read more

They also wanted to charge me for labor, even though they couldn't fix the unit. I was charged for their service plan, only to be told they couldn't complete the work. My HVAC system recently failed and wouldn't start, so I contacted SMW. To their credit, they responded quickly and sent a technician out the same evening However, I was extremely disappointed with what followed. The technician told me the "starter" was broken and that replacing it would cost over $800, including labor. He also insisted that the part needed to be specific to my HVAC brand.Then he offered a five-year maintenance contract for $1,300, which would cover the cost of this repair. Under pressure -- and with no air conditioning at home in the heat -- I agreed and signed the contract. What made the situation worse is that I have two young children at home. We desperately needed the air conditioning to work again, and I felt I had no other choice. Later, I researched the part that was actually replaced and discovered it was just a capacitor -- a very common and inexpensive component. Even with emergency service and labor, there is no way the cost should have been anywhere near $800. I believe the technician took advantage of my urgent situation and misled me into signing a long-term service contract.That feels dishonest and predatory. HVAC companies should be built on trust and transparency -- unfortunately, that was not my experience with SMW. read more

On the day of the check it was over 100 degrees so I expected there might be delays due the high volume of requests this time of year. There were no delays, the Tech (Lucas Mckee) arrived on time and performed a quality job--explained what he was doing and gave me some good tips on maintaining my system. This is not the first time that Lucas has serviced and inspected our system (per warranty work) he is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guy. 4 years ago we chose this company for Trane central air system Since then we have had coil bad that had to be replaced in year1. The installation was very sloppy and had to be redone with loose wires everywhere. This year our system is out no air conditioning just hot air. We had them check systemlast year. In 2015 I purchased a seven-year service contract with SMW Refrigeration & Heating and it has been one of the smartest home-maintenance decisions I ever made. I have two HVAC units in my house and SMW has serviced both of them regularly. Even better, when I've had an emergency, they've sent a technician right away. Last night, one of my AC units went out just as I was going to bed. I called at 7 a.m. and Jeff was at my door about twenty minutes later. He was so polite and professional, and in about an hour, he not only had the broken unit repaired but had serviced the other unit. Before I decided to go with SMW i received Three other bids .I wanted a Train which is more on the expensive side. There wasn't much different in the bids . Except Paul who was sales person for SMW There was no pressure and he had a lot of knowledge. I also had contact with Wayne which also helped me make my decision. The installation went smooth and they installed a Train thermostat which I love they were nice enough to put on my smartphone. Mid-August of 2022 my old but faithful 19-year-old AC had a leak that stained our ceiling. The emergency drain pan overflowed due to two clogged PVC pipes. I called another AC company and they sent someone out that evening to drain the pipes and get it back up. However, after he left our AC wasn't cooling that great so after a few days I called them back again, but he really didn't care and was just bent on selling me a new unit. I didn't feel right with this company at all. Anyways, I called around and went with SMW instead. The initial tech, David Rodriguez, came out on a Saturday morning and saved us from the horrible monsoon heat/humidity that we were having at that time by getting the old one running in the meantime and then offered me an amazing deal to buy a new one. On Monday morning, two guys arrived promptly to install the new one and did an excellent job from start to finish. The initial tech, David Rodriguez, demonstrated the utmost professional caring customer service. This company is a SCAM, stay away. Our heater went out and got these guys to come out seeing good reviews online and that my neighbor had recently used them. Two guys came out earlier than our appointment (that was nice) but did very little and immediately told us we need a new blower motor which would be starting at $4,000 (online this blower motor is $289) and that we should just get a whole new unit for $6k. He then tried to discuss our faith as a sales tool, super inappropriate. Paid the $55 service fee to get these guys out of my house and they had a very sketchy ipad that input our credit card number, they never sent/emailed a receipt or invoice or statement of what he suggested. Days later we conveniently got fraud on our card (assuming it was them because they had our address and input our credit card number into their ipad, we also never use that card). We had a different company come out a week later to get a second opinion and they switched out our capacitor (it was blown) and our blower motor works perfectly fine. Total was $200, far from the $4k they quoted us for something that wasn't even broken. Maybe we had bad luck with the sketchy guys that came through but in no way would I recommend this place. This is a sales company NOT a repair company. read more

They have a great team and went above and beyond to answer our questions. The installers were on time and set up everything and cleaned up everything. Very organized, professional and reliable. They provided service twice before and replaced our temperature wire on one of their service calls. Scott the owner listened to our questions and provided information to answer us. I bought a new unit from newACunit.com. It is a 19.5 SEER Goodman inverter heat pump with a variable speed blower in the air handler along with new evaporator coil. I have been using SMV for about 6 years since I bought a new Trane air conditioner and heat pump. About a year ago they talked me into a one year membership for two yearly visits and to clean the ac coils as part of that. Recently I received in the mail a notice I was being given a one year membership. A few days later I received a call asking if I received the mailer. I did acknowledge and they asked to set up a visit. They asked at that time where was my unit. On roof or on ground. I told the salesman the heat pump was in the attic and the ac was in the ground. The service guy came out and stepped into my house and asked where the air handler was. I told him the heat pump was upstairs and the ac was outside on ground level. He said he was only present to do the heat pump. I asked him why would we be doing the heat pump only on 02/26/21. He said he still uses his heat. Which has no relevance to me. He then said that last time he was here he did the ac. I told the service guy that if I schedule maintenance why would I only expect the heater or the ac singularly would be checked as opposed to both. He did not respond. I them stated that if I schedule maintenance I would expect both and if he only serviced the ac last ime only he did not complete the job. Because if that comment he turned around and walked out if my house and said he was not going to be talked to that way. If this is the same guy as last time that person tried to have something installed on my ac unit because he said it was heating up. At that time I went outside and he showed me where the temp increased. I then asked why were things stacked on top of the ac unit where the air escapes. Once he removed the items from the top of the ac unit the temp was normal. Now I do not recall the person last time but if this was the same.person li just feel there are deceptive sales tactics. Again if I am having my HVAC serviced why would I expect only the heat.pumo to be serviced and then next time ac. I know for a fact that when service men had been here in the past they would check both at the same time. There is no where in the SMV post card that was.mailed.to me that stated ac check once and then later a heat pump. When the sales guy I made the appointment with had presented it that way I would have asked for a. AC check on 02/26/21 and not a heat pump check. Again I feel this a service guy issue but if this is the sales tactics by SMV then I would say proceed with caution . read more

Don't waste your time. I first tried one of their specials where they would do a check up and refill fluid, but because my unit is older, they didn't do anything. Then when I asked for more info about replacing my air handler, they said they would get me a quote, but never followed up. Now they call me daily through an advertising company. I've asked for the quote 3 times, and never get a call back. I've asked to be removed from their call list multiple times now. Terrible company. With a rumbling, and what sounded as if a cow had squeezed into my ductwork just prior to letting out a loud death moan; my heater was shot... I immediately called out the company with which I have a service plan. Their assessment : new motor and module, to the tune of $1310. After sharing this disheartening news with my mother, she suggested that I call a company that offers free estimates and scheduled them for the following day. Next, I called SMW asking if they offered the same service...the dispatcher said that they did not, so I was looking for the next company that might comp. another look see...I get a call from the owner of SMW (forgive me Cory or Cody...for some reason I always get those two names confused)...anyhoo, C said, " I heard you speaking to my dispatcher, did you have someone out already and need to compare quotes? "...I told him that was in fact the case. He told me I may jist have an issue with the module, but gave me prices for both the module and motor including labor ($900) and for the module alone ($700)... After the other tech. came out and quoted me $1386, telling me that both parts did,indeed need to be replaced...I was on the horn scheduling with SMW. The tech. Kevin was great!..and he delivered even better news! Both the other bozos were WRONG, only the module needed to be replaced! My unit is once again heating...but more importantly, in good shape for a/c season. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SMW! I had SMW come to my house to prep my air conditioner before it got hot. Instead of a clear summary of what was needed, I got a sales pitch. First on the list was a 10 year service warranty, second was sealing my air ducts, and lastly he mentioned something about the fan motor arching; but if I got my coils cleaned this would probably take care of the problem. All I wanted to know is what I needed to do before summer. He then did a worksheet listing the cost of possible future maintenance problems and the warranty cost of repairs vs. repairs not purchasing a warranty. I spent $29.95 to be part of a sales pitch. I would have saved time by just flushing the money down the toilet. I was supposed to receive by email an estimate, but instead it was a summary of the benefits of their service contract. All I can say, is that is an hour and a half I will never get back. Sadly my air conditioner was not serviced and I am looking for a service technician. I can't rave enough about the superior customer service provided by SMW Refrigeration & Heating and their extremely knowledgable service technician, Paul Miller. SMW not only sent me an email appointment reminder but Paul also called to remind me about my checkup appointment, and he showed up on time. Since air conditioning units are "out of sight, out of mind" I never remember to change out my ac filters. Now that I have purchased an SMW maintenance contract, I may actually remember to clean my filters regularly. It makes sense to have a maintenance contract if you live in the Valley of the Sun.
