Solid meats but sides need work. Smokey Divas is a small takeout BBQ joint reminiscent of roadside stops across the South. The meats are pretty good and have a hint of smoke. The medium BBQ sauce is sweet with a touch of spice lingering in the back. The ribs are tender enough to fall off the bone. The sides could be much better. The sweet potatoes are more like candied mash and the Mac & Cheese was tasteless and dry. Really could have used some more cream and cheese to liven it up. I'd stop by again but just for the meats and skip the sides.

Outstanding food! We finally visited yesterday and the vibe is feel good family food. We were greeting by Amazing hardworking humans who have created the most delicious BBQ we have ever tasted. We got brisket. Corn bread. Max and cheese, sweet pots. Cole slaw and bought jars of that special sauce. Do not leave without buying a few jars. That sauce is now eternally in my dreams. The brisket was juicy and wonderful. The Sauce is perfectly executed in flavor. It enhances and does not take away. It is also mighty fine on its own;) all the sides were sooooo good. The corn bread was one of the top! Thank you for sharing your skills with us! We will be back!

Came here in late March after reading good reviews (Thanks Yelp!) after a long day of late-season skiing at Jiminy. The place is very small, only two tables for 4, so it's is more of a take-away joint. Although it's mini, it is mighty; there is a great deal of history packed into this establishment, as the owner comes from a long line of BBQ chefs and entrepreneurs. My family (2 adults, 2 young kids) settled on the large pork ribs platter, large brisket platter, and large Chicken (why not). Meat on the chicken & ribs were tender, fall off the bone, and the brisket had a mild smokiness with the right amount of "pull". We asked for sauces on the side, and I was a fan of their sweet classic sauce as it had the slightest tangy kick, but not heat. I'm a big fan of collared greens, and their version was perfectly cooked tender, and unfussy. The maple sweet potatoes were a bit too sweet on it's own (for my taste) but the perfect compliment to the smokey brisket & roasted chicken. My kids gobbled up the mac'n' cheese... the little nibble I managed to steal away was tasty and savory. Each platter came with cornbread, so there was plenty to try at dinner, and have to take home. Hope to return here again, as it was a nice hidden gem and the owner/head chef was very sweet. Only downside is the limited seating and the parking (have to turn into the side street, as it's along a busy road).

Small store in a residential neighborhood

It is out of the way in a residential neighborhood, but this take out Oakland BBQ style restaurant is worth finding. Great food with the right prices. I give it two sticky thumbs up. (Note, there are two tables, but take out is there big thing.) The shining stars are the tender succulent brisket and the sneezing pulled pork. You can tell that the brisket had been smoking for the entire day. And, it was carved to order. It has a great flavor and not too much fat. The pulled pork is covered in the fantastic 92nd Street sauce, named after the owners grandmother. I was told this was the original recipe (with some healthy updates) that her grandmother made for her restaurant. I think that almost anything in this sauce would be delicious. You will meet the owners when you walk in. Be sure to ask what is best that day. I will tell you that the recommended sweet potato, with lots of cinnamon, was great. I was also told to try the collard greens. Normally, I do not like collard greens, but based on the recommendation, I tried it. I am glad that I did. It was tender and mixed with small pieces of beef. While I am gushing, I do want to add that the prices are suprisingly modest. $12 for brisket dinner with a side. $9 for chicken. I expect to eat here regularly. So, leave some brisket for me.

Mac n cheese, collard greens, and brisket

Great people, big portions excellent taste, medium sauce was perfect choice. Loved the collards, ribs fell off the bone good.

So, checking out reviews, this seemed to be the place! It is a small bar & grill type establishment - simple but clean and only open limited hours on weekends. You order at the bar & then find a seat. They bring your order when it's ready. The ladies behind the bar were helpful & friendly. Service was super quick - we had our food in no time. To get an taste of almost everything, we ordered a Judge's Platter & were told it would be plenty for two to share. Not only was it plenty, but half the platter went home with us! The meats were fantastic! Tender, meaty ribs, Perfectly smoked brisket, an entire half chicken, a slab of tasty smoke turkey, a pile of pulled pork & some very tasty, cheesy sausage. Wow! Would easily feed a small family! For sides, we added beans, collards & threw in an additional mac & cheese. While I wasn't a fan of the beans or mac, the collard greens ( something tough to find in this neck of the world ) were fabulous!!! Thank you for filling our BBQ craving! We'll be back!

It's unlike any cornbread I have had. The BBQ was top tier stuff and I have been to many of the most well known spots in the mid west. All that said, Laura and her friendly, inviting attitude make this a place I wish I lived closer to. I had to do some work and sat in the corner on my computer for a while so I got to speak with her several times. I didn't want to bug the Chef, her husband Jeff, so I'll take this time to say thanks for hooking me up with the best BBQ i have had in months! It was a little taste of home while away from home. The atmosphere if family friendly and I'm sure they would accommodate large parties. I will be back!

We decided to try this place one day for dinner since it changed hands into a 'Jamaican'…read morerestaurant a couple years ago. Formerly The Lantern, still a bar vibe/a bit dark inside. We both got the jerk chicken with greens. While we finished our dinner and it tasted good; I have several specific impressions and suggestions for improvement. First of all, both of our dinners could have arrived much hotter. They were more like "well warmed" in a microwave than truly hot- so I assume that's how they typically do it there. We were hungry enough not to send it back to be 'heated up' more -but they should be aware of how hot their food should be when presented to customers. Second, we love Jamaican food- goat curry/jerk chicken/oxtails, greens, etc. This chicken was seasoned + tasty; but the chicken honestly tasted like BBQ chicken much more than the jerk chicken I've had in any other restaurants. Finally- and in the end this was the worst issue, the gal who was our waitress either had never done a waitress job before, or was so poorly trained at this establishment that she literally had no idea what she should be doing/noticing/taking care of. At various points, this was frustrating (she didn't check on us at all), didn't seem to know if we needed more water/napkin,etc. mainly because she just didn't walk by the table/or stand back keeping a watchful eye on her table. At certain points, I heard her boss talking to her and telling her what to do next- but clearly she didn't even have a basic concept of what she was supposed to be doing. I waited tables a lot thru college and eventually I felt sorry for her lack of training in a job where you clearly represent the business. But, we were the only people in there for dinner, only 1 person drinking in the bar besides us. It was just unacceptable. We won't return-but would love to find good Jamaican food somewhere in the region. PS It was several months ago when we ate there, hopefully staff is consistently better trained now.

"I like smoke and lightning Heavy metal thunder"…read more(Steppenwolf) Q: What on earth is Antimony? A: Antimony is a heavy metal. Chemical symbol Sb and atomic number 51 on your periodic table. Antimony is known as the "wolf of metals" because its chemical structure allows it to devour pretty much any other metal except gold. So that kind of explains all of the wolf-inspired logos and imagery you'll see at Antimony Brewing. It's located in a big retail center with plenty of parking and located on a main road (Route 20), so it's a very easy to visit and enjoy some wonderful beers and food. Four if us just had lunch there and we had a terrific visit. Of course, when I visit a brewery-restaurant, the first thing I do when seated is scope out the beer list and find something that intrigues me. Their selection represents pretty much everything in the beer world - IPAs, Double IPAs, Sours, Ales, Stouts, and Pilsners, plus some very cool cocktails and hard cider. I went with a 16-ounce pour of their Cherry Blonde Ale ($9, 5.0 ABV, 20 IBU). It was mild, very drinkable and quite delicious. Their food menu is very ambitious with ten small plates (how about Texas Twinkie Egg Rolls, Panko Crusted Cheese Curds, or Chicken Kimchi Potstickers?), four salads, eight burgers including elk, bison, lamb, Wagyu, and Ghost Pepper, eight sandwiches including tacos and a Prime Rib Dip, seven Big Plates including salmon, brisket and steak tips, and four pizzas including Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Fig. I couldn't resist the Ghost Pepper Smash Burger ($19) with ghost pepper cheddar, candied jalapenos garlic aioli, and a double smashed burger patties. I thought it was a great choice, the burger patties were yummy and the candied jalapenos packed a punch. The ghost pepper cheese didn't seem to add much zip, but maybe it was overpowered by the jalapenos? My wife ordered a short pour of their cider draft ($4 for 5-ounces) and it was served with a cinnamon sugar dusting on the rim, which really enhanced the apple cider! Her lunch was the Butternut Squash Salad ($16) with mixed greens, cubed butternut squash, goat cheese, candied pecans, dried cranberries, and a maple vinaigrette dressing. What a great mix of flavors and textures. Our server was a young lady named Karizma and she was personable, professional, and very helpful. Our party of four's lunch ran $129 for 5 drinks, our burger and salad, plus another salad (with salmon) and a fish and chips. We had a totally enjoyable visit with great food, great drink, and great friends. PRO TIP There are no sinks in the men's room or ladies' room. Instead, there is a Unisex communal bank of sinks for everyone to wash up together. Seems like a very cool way to make friends!!

It was all edible, but there were problems with every single thing we ordered. We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. My husband got the Korean bbq burger, which at $27 was honestly a bit insane and doubly so when it wasn't good. There's not a single thing that was wrong, the whole conception is an epic fail. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing. Overall enjoyed it and the chicken was adequately moist. Thank you for having us.
