I love date nights and most of all at our childhood spot ! Smokey bones brings back so many good memories. We love coming here for the skillet cornbread , ribs and pulled pork. The fries and baked beans are also so delicious and full of flavor. Starting off with the famous corn bread , we were sad that it wasn't in the skillet like it always has but it was still so good with their pecan butter ! We ordered a half rack of the traditional ribs and a full rack of the imported ribs ( smaller ribs) with baked beans, cole slaw , pulled pork and garlic toast. Although there were only 2 employees working the whole restaurant/ kitchen and bar, we had good service and we definitely be back!!!! read more

A lot of great memories at this Smokey Bones location. Nostalgia wins. Started with the Corn Bread. It isn't in a big skillet anymore. Instead it is 4 smaller pieces. Still taste the same with the butter. We were able to order our childhood favorite meal. For me, it was the Baby Back Ribs and Pulled Pork combo. Wish that was still a menu option. I added the sides of Baked Beans & Fries. It was great just like I remembered. It was weird to see only 2 people working that night but they handled their business. read more

I've been coming to this location for about 10 years and have loved it ever since! The waitress we had was very kind and has taken care of us for years in the past . I always loved the modern yet cozy feel of a Smokey bones. When we were here, we watched some of the Olympics while we got our chicken wings and nachos. I came here for lunch with my guest this time and we both got an order of chicken wings smoked, I got the mini nachos and she got a salad . The smoked chicken wings with garlic Parm sauce are really good ! Smoked is the only way you should go with the wings here!! Although the nachos are mini, they were perfect portion size and perfect for lunch! I only wish they had guacamole to go with it, but otherwise they were fantastic Definitely a great spot for lunch read more

Smokey Bones has some enticing daily specials. Wednesdays are BOGO dinner pulled pork platters which makes them about the price of a fast food meal. I used to go all the time but there is not one located near to me so after an AM doctor appointment, I realized the Colonial location was just down the street. I arrived just after they opened and there were a few occupied tables. WOW! I got outstanding service and my server made suggestions on sides, was attentive and I can't say enough about her initiative. Of course I got the pulled pork platters. The dinner platter comes with two sides and like many restaurants they have premium sides for an up charge. Pro tip: get the cornbread with pecan butter upgrade for 99 cents I ordered two pork platters , one to eat there and one to go. My sides were baked potato, broccoli, green beans and corn bread. I like that they have sides beyond your usual smokehouse offerings: potatoes au gratin, fire roasted corn and garlic mashed potatoes. The sauce selection at Smokey bones is interesting in that they have chipotle and vinegar based options all the time. My favorite is the original and I was expecting to slather it on some just cooked pulled pork. Well I am not sure what was up in the kitchen. I was not enjoying the dry pile of meat and I asked for a to go box. Then I realized I did not even want to take it home, so I told my server that the pork was really not up to my expectations. She whisked away my plate and the to go order and came back in mere minutes with both platters of fresh pulled pork packed to go. What they are known for is the hot bag of donuts which is a classic and you can also earn by filling out a survey from your receipt. They have a newer dessert I want to try which is roasted banana pudding: vanilla pudding topped with roasted bananas and cookie wafers, topped with whipped cream and more cookies. The decor is similar to a lodge with neon accents and they have a rectangular bar with many TVs. It is a large restaurant that can accommodate bigger parties and they have many booths and tables. Despite the hiccup I left very satisfied and dreaming of their roasted banana pudding. read more

Updated review. We stopped here later evening as my husband wanted to try. This visit was great. Our server Steve made our experience perfect. He ordered the shrimp and ribs. Loved it. I had the pulled pork Sammy with a side of sweet potato fries. We left nothing on our plates! Appetizer of the mild boneless Buffalo wings. Great perfectly crispy marinated on outside and tender on the inside. My partner said several times during our meal "I want to come here every week!" One negative? The drinks weren't very strong. Good service, yummy food hence my update. read more

First I want to give kudos to our server who was very nice and kindly answered all of our questions and hem hawing at the table We ordered the cornbread. We haven't been in a while. They used to serve this tasty moist cornbread in a pan. Now it's these cheap little basically tasteless cornbread you can get anywhere . Equal to maybe Sonny's. Their honey nut butter is still delish The pulled pork Sammy is delish. Plenty of meat on the Sandwich. Good choices of bbq sauce My aunt got the pulled chicken Sammy and she was very happy with it Tip: I got a coupon when I signed in on Yelp for a good price on a special. The server said she'd never seen the coupon before. The manager said the same thing. They did honor the coupon. So sign in as soon as you get there and use your coupon! Restaurant is clean. Fun signs on the wall. read more

Came here for happy hour one day. The atmosphere is like millers but less busy, and the service is also friendly. We got the happy hour burger, loaded nachos, and pork sandwich. We had a party at three. Toni was our server. I left my prescription eyeglasses on the table. She did even turn them in. She took our drinks away from us and never returned with them. We finally were able to flag her down after several attempts we asked her for our drink so all she could say is "for sure." Two of us ordered ribs one ordered a half rack which was edible. The full rack was not edible at all. They did not charge us for the full rack, but not even one person came over to apologize about it. Server had zero empathy Manager didn't come to the table. I would rate this place zero stars if I could definitely not a Darden restaurant anymore. My hamburger had so much grease at the bottom. Bun was even able to pick up off the plate because it was sopping wet eat dirt at your own risk. I'll never be back. Tell Toni to enjoy my prescription glasses. I need them more than she does. I'm so sad..... our Smokey homes journey started in at another location in Florida when a family member invited us out to dinner. There were so many great local spots in the area that we never thought to venture away. We ended up loving their fall off the bone delicious ribs and perfectly cooked street corn! We ordered takeout from this location after a long day so I'm hoping I can update this review. It was two hours prior to close and unfortunately those fall off the bone ribs were chew off the bone ribs :(.......... And we bought two full racks. The street corn was mush but at least their garlic bread and mash potatoes were as good as carbs are. Again I'm hoping I can update this review but I highly would caution if it's close to closing time at this location. read more

After 6 years of living in Orlando, I finally tried Smokey Bones. I can't believe I've been missing out. Coming from Texas, It's not the world's greatest bbq lol, but for quick takeout or quick casual dining, it is great. I go to the gym nearby so I will definitely be going more often. read more

So we landed Khristopher as our server and wow, he was very through, attentive and stellar at serving us and making it a great night out. Great food with lots of taste. We have never been but always wanted to come in so we finally got the chance to come and try it! Very open concept and a lot of indoor seating! There is a wrap around bar in the middle of the restaurant with 9 tvs wrapped around it as well. A good selection of beers on draft as well. Erin was our server and she was awesome! Knew the answer to anything I asked and was great! We went ahead and ordered off the Lunch Menu; I ordered the Hand Pulled Pork and my wife got the Baked Potato with Brisket. Entrees: Pork was rolling! Baked beans were phenomenal! It was so much food! Beans sauce was a great taste, toast was also great! The Mexican corn was great, but I was so full I couldn't finish it! My wife's baked potato was great, brisket had an awesome flavor! She got the Caesar salad which was also a great size! Overall we'd come back and like to try more of the menu but we are excited we got to finally come in and we will def come back! read more

Taste: 7/10 The taste wasn't too bad overall. I did like the Baked Beans. It was a bit too sweet, but I liked it. It fixed any sweet tooth I had. The ribs themselves were okay with the sauce. The sauce was the start of the show, not really the ribs. The potato wedges tasted how they should have. Add a little salt and pepper, and you'll be fine. Appearance: 10/10 Refer to photo Value: 7/10 I received this as a BOGO, so I went this route. General Comment: This isn't a "you have to experience this" type of food. It's almost a food of "convenience." The quality seems different than when I was younger, but I'll blame that on me. If you want something quick for a family dinner or something, this will meet that requirement. read more

It's been quite a while since we have been to Smokey Bones and I imagine it will be quite a while until we return. Although the food tasted amazing I found the prices far to high for what we received. To start the chips and queso had a nice taste there was barely enough for 8 chips not to mention they were out of the chorizo that was supposed to be in it. I had to ask multiple times for refill of my water and the music was far to loud. The dining area was clean and staff friendly but overall just not a good deal. read more

Not a good experience. It was our first time here, and there was one server for a table of 10, several tables of 4, and the bar area. It wasn't packed, but they definitely could've given our waiter, Khristopher, more help. In spit of this, we were greeted relatively quickly once we seated ourselves, but after that we waited nearly 10 mins before we were able to place a food order, and both of our drinks were empty about halfway through the meal with no offer of a refill. After waiting 20 mins after finishing our meals, our waiter came back and apologized and asked if we needed anything else. I asked for a Togo box, my date asked for a refill. He came back 10 mins later with the box, but no drink. We waited 10 more mins for the check and left immediately. The food was okay. I ordered the loaded baked potato with a Caesar salad. I had brisket on my potato, but it wasn't sliced/shredded, so it kinda made it difficult to eat. My date had a brisket grilled cheese, that had barely any meat, with tomato soup. He enjoyed his meal. I also got a "sweet" tea that tasted like an unsweetened one. We honestly didn't expect much since we arrived here at 1030 on a Saturday night. Probably won't return. read more

We came for a late dinner and were seated right away and our server was very nice. They were a bit understaffed and the food was fairly mediocre. The boneless wings were too breaded and the taki corn was nothing special. The best parts were the pulled pork, cheddar jalapeno sausage, and banana pudding. We had to wait a long time for our check and we were splitting it. After some time the server came back and said they were only able to run one of the cards and lost power before he could run the other card. He kept the other card and said they were waiting for the power to come back on. This added an extra 20-30 minutes to our experience and eventually he came back and said they couldn't get the system back up and wanted to take down my credit card. We paid with cash instead. I think this could've been handled better. read more

Never again. I always try to give Smokey Bones a chance and each time it disappoints. Tried doing the take out for once and will never do it again. The macaroni was good, mashed potatoes cold, and the chicken/sausage were sooooooo dry that no amount of bbq sauce made it better. The chicken was so dry and hard I didn't even eat it. The garlic bread was also not edible, couldn't even break it apart. If you can eat somewhere else definitely do so. read more

Something like a three or four. I'm fairly sure I've written a review for this Smokey Bones before. I'm feeling I may have submitted one twice before. In fact, I think they're even one of the first places I may have reviewed so many years ago. Whatever the case, I've been to this Smokey Bones dozens and dozens of times over the last many years. And even in those years during and after the bubble when they had that $20 for $10 coupon I was hooked into a regular. I find them to be very passable casual dining with good cocktails and some pretty good specials. They do a good job of keeping it fresh and shaking up the menu. That Brunswick stew's a favorite. And I particularly like their coleslaw. Not too many places do smoked wings and theirs are very good without the drizzle. Some of the sauces are really nice too, like the garlic mayo. Love that on fries. I like that they're never very busy which probably isn't a sustainable thing but it's nice to shop an uncrowded place. That's my vibe and why I probably frequent them more than I should. This last time in, went in on that ridiculous $39 2 lb rib thing and it was okay, alright. Somehow expected more out of the sides, they really didn't fill up the plate but whatever. read more

It was my first time trying this restaurant and it was definitely an interesting experience. The service was great and the interior was modern and clean. The drink we ordered was the Smooth Bourbon Blackberry Lemonade which was definitely strong and had lots of bourbon in it. We did not get as much of the blueberry or lemonade flavors, and it was disappointing that the drink didn't come with the blackberry and lemon garnish that they showed on the menu in a photo. For food, we tried the ribs and the brisket with a side of coleslaw and fries. Everything was delicious, but the brisket did have a huge chunk of fat that we had to eat around. The ribs were fall of the bone which I absolutely love. The experience was overall not bad, but the drink was disappointing. Will be giving the restaurant another try and will order some different items next time! Ordered take out to bring home. First time visiting and I think this will be my last time. I went in the late afternoon and was completely empty. The customer service was not the best as they did not acknowledged me or greet me to the restaurant. I felt the brisket and pulled pork sandwich were very bland. The max and cheese was expecting a lot more. The garlic parmesan wings were not bad, would say this was the only good item we ordered. I doubt we would go back as it is no where to where we live. read more

avoid. this is from someone who used to frequent 2 to 3 times a week to do homework and get loaded fries/ chicken wings even after the quality greatly dipped.... Today I came in to do homework, arriving at 10:20 pm. As of typing this, It is now 10:53 pm and I've sat here with multiple servers both individually and in groups passing me by. This was the first place that I went to when I came to Florida and it was pretty good. The servers were pretty nice but I would say a bit slow at times and unsure of things? I enjoyed the IPA I got and the ribs were pretty good as well as the coleslaw and Mac and cheese. We also got some sort of Korean appetizer and it was really delicious. I always end up wanting to like this place more than I actually end up liking it. They have a good location that has plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out of. The front desk is always an issue and you normally have to wait several minutes before anyone even shows up at the podium. Then it always seems like they're not sure where to put you, and it takes time to get seated. Even though most of the restaurant is usually pretty empty. Not sure if it's a server placement issue or what? Once you're seated it does take a little while for service as it always seems like it's going a little bit slow. However, they do have a lot of good food options and I usually find something that I want. The price point always seems a little bit high for what they have to offer. But, it's pretty common for restaurants to have this kind of price point in the Orlando area. The food always looks good in the pictures, however, when you get it to your table it's never quite the same as what you thought it would be. It's usually just okay. The atmosphere is very sports bar like. Even though they do have a seating area that's completely separate from the television and bar area, it still gets pretty loud. It can be difficult to hear your conversation over the yelling sometimes. My food recommendation here is the smoked wings. They're usually pretty good, however, you'll probably want to side to go with it as it may not be completely filling for a meal. Overall: B- I always end up like wanting to like this place, however, I never actually do. It's not the worst place I've ever been to, however it never lives up to what I want it to be. read more
