On my first day there, (yes, I went several times in one week), my car failed the smog test due to my car's computer not being ready. They were kind enough to tell me that all I needed to do was drive my car until the computer was ready. So I drove and drove and went back to them to scan my car to see if it was ready for a retest. It wasn't ready again. I was getting nervous because I was driving with a expired plates. So I drove and drove some more at their advice with the A/C on/off. Different driving patterns. During this time, my rear brakes needed replacement. I ended up taking it to a repair shop that also happened to be a smog test shop, too. After having my brakes repaired, I asked them if they would be able to see if my car was ready to do a smog test. Maybe their scanner might be different from Smog Zone's. (I know nothing about cars, scanning, etc) This repair shop told me no and that something was very wrong with my car. I left with very little hope, since he was not able to tell me what was wrong with my car so that I can fix it. I continued driving. My third time going to Smog Zone, they scanned my car and it was still not ready. I was getting very frustrated, not at Smog Zone, but at my car. (FYI, Smog Zone was very professional and explaining all the answers to my questions even if it was going over my head) During the third scan, he told me to take it on a long highway drive. The next day, I decided to go to my favorite city with Vietnamese food. A good hour drive. Driving around town, my engine light came on. I was sooooooooooooooooo happy to see it come on. I drove straight back to Smog Zone. They were able to test it right away. It was so quick, I didn't even realized I had passed until they motioned us to come in and pay. Made my day!!! Overall, each time that I had gone into their shop, it was very quick, professional service. You can tell they know what the heck they're doing and want the customer to be happy. It's nice that they remembered me so I didn't have to explain each time I went what was wrong with my car. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing their Smog Test. The guy here was very polite and organized. There were a couple cars in front of me, but didn't take too long. Overall fine place for a smog, more of a waiting section here then I've seen at any smog location. Only complaint is the check-in coupon. I've gone to enough smog places to know it'll be about $50, coupon says $15 off for check in and when i'm paying the guy claims it's $5 off and I still ended up paying $50. read more

Ahhhh man I had a snag with my vehicle. They threw out a few suggestions and i took it to my mechanic, sure enough it was a minor thing that was easily fixable and free. Had they not mentioned this at the smog zone I wouldn't have known and got charged a hefty fee just to reset my check engine light when all it was, was the gas cap..... I have done 2 smog checks (my wife's car and my own) here and the service is absolutely the best. Haik at Smog Zone is very friendly and matter-of-fact and really makes sure you understand what is going on with your car and makes suggestions when possible on how to save the most money. He warned me that with my readings, in 2 years from now, my car is not likely to pass again and will likely require an intensive cleaning of my engine's intake manifold. While that's not the greatest news to hear, I'd certainly rather know than not and will not hesitate to return to Smog Zone! read more

Had to take my mom's car to smogged by a STAR center. I have a guy, but just realized he's not STAR certified..I never knew there was 2 different types! So I turned to yelp to find a certified STAR center near my job. Low and behold, there many within a 5 mile radius. I'm glad I went with smog zone, all the reviews seem to be spot on. I was in and out within 10 minutes and the guy was really nice. Make sure you end up at smog zone I turned into the driveway next door, because there were all these arrows pointing to that place. My '04 RSX-s needed to be smogged for registration renewal. A good buddy of mine had recently gotten his car smogged and told me he came here. I looked this place up and was sold by the reviews on his experience and knowledge of cars, in addition to hi quick and friendly service. So I came in one morning, and the reviews did not lie. Haik was really friendly and after a quick conversation I could tell he was not some amateur smog shop owner. I highly recommend you bring any of your cars here: exotic, daily commuter, classic/vintage, etc. He also has the latest tech so that cars 2000 and ^ don't need to be on the dyno. His system reads all your codes through the OBD-II. Not mention when he says that it will take about 10-15, he doesn't say that to keep the customer happy, he really means it. True, it's never fun getting a smog check. It's painful watching a stranger rev your engine, burning precious gasoline, and adding unnecessary wear-and-tear to your front tires. All for what? A bill for $60 and a stupid certificate that says you're now allowed to spend a hundred additional bucks (or more) to register your car. Here's the good news. Smog Zone is awesome. Friendly and fast. Got me in and out, and even explained everything on my smog check to me. Thankfully I only need to get my smog check done every two years. But let's just say, I'm excited about 2015 when I get to see these guys again. They earned my business!!!! read more
